Study of Level 6 with GM Leo: No more coffee with milk

Alguns poucos meses atrás, fiz um estudo do Nível 6 do Programa Ving Tsun Experience com o Si Gung. Foi um trabalho muito especial, no qual ele pôde compartilhar durante todo o processo uma série de detalhes que, para mim, soaram como total novidade no que diz respeito ao estudo do Sistema Ving Tsun. Existe uma possibilidade de compartilhamento de informações no Ving Tsun Experience, que ao ser realizado durante a jornada Kung Fu no Sistema Tradicional, pode acabar comprometendo a natureza do Domínio Baat Jaam Do, no qual a transmissão silenciosa alcança o seu ápice.

Eu costumava não entender a razão de existir do Programa Ving Tsun Experience, e estranhava a ênfase que era dada a ele. Depois de todo esse tempo mais próximo ao Si Gung, pude não só observar como esse programa é trabalhado por profissionais que seguem este programa, bem como observar como o próprio Si Gung faz uso dele e como ele o atualiza constantemente. Nessas horas, lembro de quando chegavam as atualizações do programa em meu email, por vezes eu nem abria, pois não compreendia sua importância. Hoje percebo o quanto cada linha que gera uma nova versão permite um trabalho mais consistente. Pude também presenciar a importância que os Mestres que seguem este programa dão para suas atualizações. - "...Achei que você fez muito bem quando abriu o arquivo e o leu junto com o Edson! A ideia é essa! Você não precisa perder tempo decorando a lista do Ving Tsun Experience, você já tem muita coisa para se preocupar no Sistema Tradicional, por isso o que você fez é exatamente a lógica do tutor do Ving Tsun Experience..." - Teria dito Si Gung naquela noite de Quinta.

 A few months ago, I conducted a study of Level 6 of the Ving Tsun Experience Program with Si Gung. It was a very special work, during which he could share throughout the process a series of details that sounded completely new to me regarding the study of the Ving Tsun System. There is a possibility of information sharing in the Ving Tsun Experience, which, when conducted during the Kung Fu journey in the Traditional System, may compromise the nature of the Baat Jaam Do Domain, in which silent transmission reaches its peak.

I used to not understand the reason for the existence of the Ving Tsun Experience Program and found the emphasis given to it strange. After spending more time with Si Gung, I could not only observe how this program is worked by professionals who follow it, but also observe how Si Gung himself uses it and updates it constantly. At those times, I remember when the program updates arrived in my email, sometimes I didn't even open them because I didn't understand their importance. Today, I realise how each line that generates a new version allows for more consistent work. I could also witness the importance that Masters who follow this program give to its updates. - "...I thought you did very well when you opened the file and read it with Edson! That's the idea! You don't need to waste time memorising the Ving Tsun Experience list, you already have a lot to worry about in the Traditional System, so what you did is exactly the logic of the Ving Tsun Experience tutor..." - Si Gung would have said on that Thursday night.

Procuro aprender com Si Gung a cada momento. Por exemplo: Ele sempre parece estar fazendo algo em seu notebook, e de fato está. Isso não muda o fato de que ele mantém uma atenção não somente ao que está sendo dito, mas ao que está ocorrendo. Por vezes ele levanta os olhos, levanta as sobrancelhas como quem presta atenção, fica balançando as pernas para dentro e para fora e, dependendo do que vê, levanta ou volta a digitar. Essa dinâmica me lembra o ano de 2006, quando eu assistia meu Si Fu com os MPA's da Paula Gama e suas filhas Anna e Adda. Naquelas tardes, elas estavam acessando o Domínio "Biu Ji". Si Fu sentava-se em sua cadeira, às vezes mexendo em seu computador, às vezes simplesmente observando o que acontecia. Para mim, era um processo muito importante, porque me sentia auxiliando apenas, levando em conta as limitações que tinha.

Da mesma maneira, na noite de Quinta ao mobilizar o Edson no Nível 6, incríveis 18 anos depois daquelas tardes de altas aventuras com o Si Fu no antigo Núcleo Barra, tenho condições de assistir o Si Gung sabendo que ele está monitorando. Afinal, quando retornar ao Rio, estarei por minha conta então considero sempre uma excelente oportunidade para aprender o que não fazer.

Tinha um cara que conheci em 2018, namorado de uma amiga, ele era vendedor e se autodenominava "águia". - "É que eu sou um cara 'águia'" - Dizia ele. Eu achava aquela lógica muito divertida, porque de fato ele era um vendedor sem igual. Você sentava com ele para comer um petisco e sentia vontade de comprar um ar condicionado, sabe-se lá porque. E eu me perguntava: "Será que em meu ramo, eu sou um cara águia?" . Sendo assim, meu contato recente com esses profissionais atentos em um nível águia, imediatamente me transformou em um "café com leite" nesse grupo. Ao contrário de me sentir mal, me senti muito motivado por ter agora a possibilidade de almejar novos níveis de compreensão sobre o Sistema e os Programas. Então, nesta noite de Quinta com o Edson, depois de dois anos de muito trabalho, estava finalmente fazendo um trabalho razoável dentro do que tinha de mais atualizado no Nível 6 do Programa Ving Tsun Experience. O Mestre Quintela costuma dizer que se você praticar por dez anos a partir de agora, serão dez anos de um estudo de alto nível. Então, é uma sensação muito boa de recomeço que venho experimentando e de redescobertas.

I seek to learn from Si Gung at every moment. For example: He always seems to be doing something on his notebook, and indeed he is. That doesn't change the fact that he maintains attention not only to what is being said, but to what is happening. Sometimes he raises his eyes, arches his eyebrows as if paying attention, sways his legs in and out, and depending on what he sees, he either raises or resumes typing. This dynamic reminds me of the year 2006 when I used to assist my Si Fu with the classes of Paula Gama and her daughters Anna and Adda. During those afternoons, they were accessing the "Biu Ji" Domain. Si Fu sat in his chair, sometimes tinkering with his computer, sometimes simply observing what was happening. For me, it was a very important process because I felt like I was assisting, taking into account the limitations I had.

Similarly, on Thursday night while mobilizing Edson at Level 6, incredible 18 years after those afternoons of high adventures with Si Fu at the former MYVT Barra School, I have the opportunity to watch Si Gung knowing that he is monitoring. After all, when I return to Rio, I will be on my own, so I always consider it an excellent opportunity to learn what not to do.

There was a guy I met in 2018, the boyfriend of a friend; he was a salesman and referred to himself as an "eagle". - "It's because I'm an 'eagle' guy,"- he would say. I found that logic very amusing because indeed, he was an unparalleled salesman. You would sit down with him to eat a snack and feel like buying an air conditioner, for goodness' sake. And I wondered: "Am I an eagle guy in my field?" Therefore, my recent contact with these attentive professionals at an eagle level immediately turned me into a "coffee with milk guy" in that group. Instead of feeling bad, I felt very motivated to now aim for new levels of understanding about the System and the Programs. So, on this Thursday night with Edson, after two years of hard work, I was finally doing a reasonable job within the most updated Level 6 of the Ving Tsun Experience Program. Master Quintela often says that if you practice for ten years from now on, it will be ten years of high-level study. So, it's a very good feeling of a fresh start and rediscovery that I've been experiencing.

Observar o progresso do Edson é algo sem paralelos. Tenho conseguido acompanhar como o Edson evolui a cada visita a São Paulo. Muitos dos meus discípulos puderam, de maneira singela, contribuir de alguma forma e se beneficiaram com isso. Realmente fico muito impressionado com como o Programa se encaixa de maneira sistêmica. Si Gung parecia muito animado quando fomos jantar. Meu discípulo Lucas estava no carro e pôde compartilhar dessa sensação de quanto Si Gung estava satisfeito com o desenrolar das coisas e com o que tinha ocorrido naquela noite.

Naquela semana, recebi um vídeo que falava da importância de não "trabalharmos duro demais", pois a vida passa muito rápido. Recebo muitos vídeos com essa temática dos poucos e bons amigos que tenho; muitos se preocupam com o nível de imersão que vivo. Naquele dia, mandei o vídeo para Si Gung e pedi que ele desse sua opinião. "...Acho muito útil para aqueles que apenas trabalham demais. Por outro lado, isso tem sido uma desculpa para muitos não exercerem sua existência..." - ele teria escrito. Então, naquela quinta-feira, senti um pouco disso. Foram dois anos me sentindo perdido, atrasado, defasado, "café com leite" e muito mais... Mas de alguma maneira que não sei explicar, durante aqueles minutos de estudo do Nível 6, senti que algo encaixou. Foi como um suspiro de alívio saber mais uma vez que não existe mágica na Dimensão Kung Fu, e só com muito estudo se chega lá.

Não espero que quem leia até aqui entenda o que estou dizendo, mas esses são apenas fragmentos de memória para expressar o sentimento que sentia com Si Gung e Lucas no carro naquela noite de quinta-feira. E lembrei-me da fala de Johnathan Kent para seu filho Clark no meu seriado favorito de todos os tempos "Smallville" - "O trabalho faz o homem honesto, Clark".

Vamos com tudo!

Observing Edson's progress is unparalleled. I've been able to witness how Edson evolves with each visit to São Paulo. Many of my disciples have been able, in a subtle way, to contribute in some form and have benefited from it. I am truly impressed by how the Program fits in a systemic way. Si Gung seemed very excited when we went out for dinner. My disciple Lucas was in the car and could share in the feeling of how satisfied Si Gung was with how things were unfolding and with what had happened that night.

During that week, I received a video that spoke about the importance of not "working too hard" because life passes by too quickly. I receive many videos with this theme from the few good friends I have; many are concerned about the level of immersion I live in. On that day, I sent the video to Si Gung and asked for his opinion. "...I find it very useful for those who simply work too much. On the other hand, this has been an excuse for many not to exercise their existence," - he would have written. So, on that Thursday, I felt a bit of that. It had been two years of feeling lost, behind, outdated, "coffee with milk," and much more... But somehow, in a way I can't explain, during those minutes studying Level 6, I felt that something clicked. It was like a sigh of relief to know once again that there is no magic in the Kung Fu Dimension, and only with a lot of study can one get there.

I don't expect anyone reading this far to understand what I'm saying, but these are just fragments of memory to express the feeling I had with Si Gung and Lucas in the car that Thursday night. And I remembered Johnathan Kent's words to his son Clark in my all-time favorite TV series "Smallville" - "Work makes the man honest, Clark."

LEO IMAMURA - THE TIRELESS MASTER OF BRAZIL

 

Sigung observava o praticante do Ving Tsun Experience chamado Edson com muita atenção sem nada dizer. Já era noite, estávamos o dia todo juntos e ele estava ali conduzindo aquela aula. Foi quando me perguntei - “Por que ele não pede a alguém para dar essa aula?” - Minha pergunta não era motivada por ele estar cansado, mas porque ele poderia simplesmente pedir que alguém o fizesse em seu lugar. Ele só não precisava estar ali. Não satisfeito, com uma atenção e foco como a de alguém que ainda está em sua primeira atividade do dia, ele comentava os mínimos detalhes. Não somente para o Edson, mas para meu discípulo Rodrigo, que tentava ajudá-lo. Aquela cena me tocou profundamente. Aquela atitude incansável, a capacidade de chegar inteiro  no final dia, de dar total atenção ao aluno que chega como se fosse o primeiro, o foco para não falar de nenhum assunto que não estivesse em sintonia com o trabalho. Toda uma conduta que me lembrou a mesma que eu vi em meu Si Fu quando o conheci e que me tocou da mesma forma na época Núcleo Jacarepaguá. - “...Esse é o profissional que eu quero ser...” - Concluí.

That tireless attitude, the ability to arrive as a whole in the end of the day, to give total attention to the student as if it were the first, the focus to not stop on any subject not in tune with the work. A whole conduct that reminded me of the same I saw in my Si Fu when I met him and touched me in the same way at the Jacarepaguá School days. - “...This is the professional I want to be...” - I concluded.

"...O Edson vem de longe, tem esposa e filho, é esforçado, é claro que vou dar total atenção a alguém assim..." - Teria dito ele no dia seguinte quando trouxe o tema à mesa. A atenção que Si Gung reserva a mim e aos meus alunos que me acompanham quando estive com ele em São Paulo ou Brasília esse ano chega a ser desconcertante. Nessas horas, ele costuma me repreender e pedir que deixe as formalidades para “o mundo lá fora”. - “...Eu sei que você me respeita, mas você precisa golpear...” - Disse ele durante uma prática de Chi Sau que tive diretamente com ele - “...Porque aqui, não se trata do Leo ou do Thiago, mas do nosso Kung Fu... De outra coisa, e a gente precisa deixar sair...” - Conclui ele. Quando fico receoso de colocar alguma dúvida e ela ser básica demais, ele comenta - “...Eu não acho nada básico... Quando seu Si Baak Natan perguntava as mesmas coisas, costumavam rir dele, e olha onde ele chegou. Por isso, quando você faz perguntas que você chama de 'básicas', ninguém mais ri...” - Si Gung tem uma crença definitiva de que as coisas acontecem quando geradas pelas condicionantes corretas e que ocorrem de maneira progressiva. Por isso, enquanto observava o rapaz realizar a sequência de movimentos com o bastão no Nível 5 do Ving Tsun Experience, teria chegado à conclusão de que talvez um movimento estivesse sobrando - “Viu só?” - Indagou ele sorrindo - “Já teria valido só por causa disso.” - Comentava ele agora mais sério, fazendo o gesto como se segurasse o bastão com os braços esticados, dando os mínimos detalhes sobre a sua conclusão em uma mesa de aeroporto.

"...Edson comes from afar, has a wife and child, is diligent; it is clear that I will give complete attention to someone like that..." - He would have said the next day when I brought up the topic at the table. The attention that Si Gung reserves for me and my students who accompanied me when I was with him in São Paulo or Brasília this year is disconcerting. At these times, he usually reproaches me and asks me to leave the formalities for "the outside world." - "...I know you respect me, but you need to strike..." - He said during a Chi Sau practice that I had directly with him - "...Because here, it's not about Leo or Thiago, but about our Kung Fu... About something else, and we need to let it out..." - He concluded. When I am hesitant to ask a question, fearing it might be too basic, he comments - "...I don't find anything basic... When your Si Baak Natan asked the same thing, they used to laugh at him, and look where he got. So, when you ask questions that you call 'basic,' no one laughs anymore..." - Si Gung has a firm belief that things happen when generated by the correct conditions and that they occur progressively. Therefore, while observing the gentleman perform the sequence of movements with the staff in Level 5 of the Ving Tsun Experience Program, he would have come to the conclusion that perhaps one movement was unnecessary - "See?" - He inquired, smiling - "It would have been worthwhile just for that." - He commented, now more serious, gesturing as if holding the staff with his arms extended, giving the smallest details about his conclusion at an airport table.

Quando estávamos por volta de 2001...2002... Meu Si Fu disse que estava há quatro dias sem dormir porque sua filha Jade estava doente no hospital. Ele falava com alguém, e eu praticava próximo e ouvia. Aquela fala me inspirou muito, pois ele não aparentou estar cansado ou desanimado em momento algum. Havia uma vida nele que lhe permitia dar atenção às minhas questões ou às de qualquer outro praticante como se fossem os temas mais importantes do mundo. Nesse final de semana vendo Si Gung, eu repensei isso. Porque nos tempos de altas aventuras no Núcleo Jacarepaguá, o que me atraiu foi a dedicação, a determinação, e como Si fu disse a um irmão Kung Fu querido meu na época - “...Você sempre é o exemplo para alguém...” - E eu acho que então você pode não ter magnetismo como eu também não tenho, mas o seu compromisso em entregar o seu melhor faz com que outras pessoas queiram participar disso ou se inspirem a fazer o mesmo em suas áreas. Naqueles tempos, eu era um garoto que se comportava como criança, e não pude aproveitar. Hoje, como um homem, acredito que possa me inspirar para ser cada vez mais um melhor profissional e herdeiro desta arte marcial que mudou e ainda muda minha vida.

When we were around 2001...2002... My Si Fu mentioned that he had been without sleep for four days because his daughter Jade was ill in the hospital. He was talking to someone, and I practiced nearby, listening. That statement inspired me a lot because he didn't seem tired or discouraged at any point. There was a life in him that allowed him to pay attention to my questions or those of any other practitioner as if they were the most important topics in the world. This weekend, seeing Si Gung, I reconsidered that. Because in the times of high adventures at the MYVT Jacarepaguá school, what attracted me was dedication, determination, and as Si Fu said to a dear Kung Fu brother of mine at the time - "...You are always an example for someone..." - And I think that while you may not have magnetism like as a leader, your commitment to giving your best makes others want to participate in that or be inspired to do the same in their areas. In those times, I was a boy who behaved like a child, and I couldn't take advantage. Today, as a man, I believe I can inspire myself to be an increasingly better professional and heir to this martial art that has changed and continues to change my life.

Moy Yat´s Legacy from Brazil : The Ving Tsun Experience

A relação "Si Fu - To Dai" não é só o que aparece aqui na página. Por muitas vezes, discordei de meu Si Fu ou nos "chateamos" (por falta de palavra melhor) um com o outro. Isso também é parte, ainda que na maioria das vezes, refletindo um pouco mais, tenha chegado a conclusão de que isso acontecia por não entender tão bem o que Si Fu estava propondo nesses momentos. Por falar nisso, Si Fu tem repetido insistentemente para todos, em especial para mim, sobre sempre "aderirmos", "nos apoiarmos" e "Propormos" quando algo nos for colocado, ainda que seja oposto ao nosso pensamento original ou que discordemos.
Nos momentos em que minha falta de capacidade de entender algo que Si Fu está colocando chega a grandes proporções, ele costuma usar o exemplo do "Siu Nim Do".
"Siu Nim Do" e uma sequência de movimentos ou "lista de dispositivos de combate simbólico" (chamada comumente de forma) criada por Si Taai Gung Moy Yat na primeira metade dos anos '90. À época, poucos viram potencial no que Si Taai Gung estava apresentando...  - Si Fu costuma dizer nesta parte da história: " Sabe o que Si Gung fez? Desenvolveu o Ving Tsun Experience em cima disso."

The "Si Fu - To Dai" relationship is not only what appears here on the page. For many times, I disagreed with my Si Fu  . This is also part, although most of the time, reflecting a little more, has come to the conclusion that this happened for not understanding so well what Si Fu was proposing at those times. By the way, Si Fu has consistently repeated to everyone, especially to me, about always "to adhere", "to carry" and "Proposing" when something is put to us, even if it is opposed to our original thinking or something that we disagree.
At a time when my lack of ability to understand something that Si Fu was putting on arrives to great proportions, he often uses the example of "Siu Nim Do."
"Siu Nim Do" is a sequence of movements or "list of devices of symbolic combat" (called commonly as "form") created by Si Taai Gung Moy Yat in the first half of  '90s. At the time, few saw potential in what Si Taai Gung was presenting ... - Si Fu used to say in this part of the story: "Do you know what Si Gung did? He developed the Ving Tsun Experience from the Siu Nim Do."

Si Gung , Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura, é uma pessoa que é muito respeitada no "Mo Lam" também por conta de sua lealdade a seu Si Fu do primeiro dia que o conheceu até hoje depois de seu falecimento.E isso inspirou as gerações que descendem dele a fazerem o mesmo, ainda que isso não seja uma regra que se aplique em todos os casos . De toda forma, ele desenvolveu baseado no "Siu Nim Do", o "Ving Tsun Experience".
O "Ving Tsun Experience" se trata de um programa que proporciona a experiência de um sistema de inteligência marcial com características do Sistema Ving Tsun, em termos de fases, modalidades e naturezas do domínio.

My Si Gung, Grand Master Leo Imamura, is a person who is highly respected in "Mo Lam" also because of his loyalty to his Si Fu from the first day he met him until his death. And that inspired the generations that  are descended from him to do the same, although this is not a rule that applies in all cases. Anyway, he developed based on "Siu Nim Do", the "Ving Tsun Experience".
The "Ving Tsun Experience" is a program that provides the experience of a martial intelligence system with characteristics of the Ving Tsun System in terms of phases, modalities and natures of the domain.

 Sobre o "Siu Nim Do" criado por seu mentor, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat , Si Gung escreveu o seguinte certa vez: "...Pelo fato de seus movimentos terem sido estruturados a partir da ocupação da Linha Central, o Siu Nim Do caracteriza-se pela versatilidade na manifestação das diferentes naturezas do Sistema Ving Tsun. Graças a engenhosidade da arquitetura do Siu Nim Do, foi possível utilizá-lo na estruturação do Ving Tsun Experience, o que acabou constituindo numa verdadeira homenagem ao Patriarca Moy Yat (9GVT) por sua inteligência antecipatória na salvaguarda do Sistema Ving Tsun..."

On the "Siu Nim Do" created by his mentor, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, Si Gung once wrote: "... Quando Patriarca Moy Yat (foto) chegou em New York, em 2 de setembro de 1973, o fato teve grande repercussão. Ainda assim o Patriarca tinha uma postura de não tentar convencer os outros sobre a importância da Vida Kung Fu, que havia aprendido através da experiência privilegiada que teve com o seu mentor, o Patriarca Ip Man.
Em entrevista para o projeto “A Bordo do Junco Vermelho” do Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang, o Professor François Jullien disse que o termo kung fu é uma noção muito implícita no pensamento chinês. Os chineses costumam ter apenas uma certa evidência dessa noção, por isso o sam faat (o que chamamos de Vida Kung Fu) tem sido um processo essencial de transmissão.
Para ele, a noção de kung fu passou a ficar evidente somente quando tomou contato com o Ocidente. Foi encontrando o pensamento ocidental que os chineses perceberam que há um implícito pedagógico e, assim, um recurso de pensamento por trás dessa noção que parecia tão natural.
Portanto, o desafio estava dado. Como evidenciar algo que é tão implícito? No contato com o Ocidente, esse processo de aprendizagem do Kung Fu, no contexto de acesso ao Sistema Ving Tsun, através do provimento progressivo da Vida Kung Fu, deveria agora receber uma denominação.

When Patriarch Moy Yat (photo above) arrived in New York on September 2, 1973, the fact had great repercussion. Yet the Patriarch had a posture of not trying to convince others of the importance of Kung Fu Life, which he had learned through the privileged experience he had with his mentor, Patriarch Ip Man.
In an interview for our project "Aboard the Red Junk," Professor François Jullien said that the term "kung fu" is a very implicit notion in Chinese thought. The Chinese usually have only some evidence of this notion, so the sam faat (what we call Kung Fu Life) has been an essential process of transmission.
For him, the notion of kung fu became evident only when he came into contact with the West. It was finding Western thought that the Chinese realized that there is an implicit pedagogical and thus a resource of thought behind that notion that seemed so natural.
So the challenge was given. How to evidence something that is so implicit? In contact with the West, this process of learning Kung Fu in the context of access to the Ving Tsun System through the progressive provision of Kung Fu Life should now be given a denomination.

Em 28 de Junho de 1997,  com a Cerimônia de Aposentadoria do Patriarca Moy Yat. A partir desta data, seus descendentes, seriam os responsáveis pelo compromisso de uma denominação que até então era uma noção muito implícita, norteada pelo exemplo vivo de seu idealizador: a Denominação Moy Yat Ving Tsun.
A Denominação Moy Yat Ving Tsun é o compromisso de provimento progressivo da Vida Kung Fu (Sam Faat) assumido pelo Patriarca Moy Yat (1938–2001) com relação aos seus descendentes, no contexto do acesso ao Sistema Ving Tsun.

On June 28, 1997, with the Patriarch Moy Yat Retirement Ceremony. From this date, his descendants would be responsible for the commitment of a denomination that until then was a very implicit notion, guided by the living example of its founder: the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Denomination.
The Moy Yat Ving Tsun Denomination is the commitment to provide progressive Kung Fu Life (Sam Faat) assumed by Patriarch Moy Yat (1938-2001) in relation to his descendants, in the context of access to the Ving Tsun System.

Por isso, o "Ving Tsun Experience" atua dentro da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, como um "instrumento" dentro do Vetor Estratégico de "Reconhecimento dos Descendentes do Patriarca Moy Yat". Pois acredito ,que dentre tantos potenciais, facilita com que pouco a pouco e a seu tempo, o praticante possa se enxergar como um membro em potencial da Linhagem Moy Yat, capaz de honrar a "Denominação Moy Yat Ving Tsun".  Isso , de certa forma a meu ver, ajuda também a "proteger" o Sistema Ving Tsun .

Therefore, the Ving Tsun Experience acts within the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence as an "instrument" within the Strategic Vector of "Recognition of the Descendants of Patriarch Moy Yat." So, I believe that, among so many potentials, it facilitates that little by little and in due time, the practitioner can see himself as a potential member of the Moy Yat Lineage, capable of honoring the "Moy Yat Ving Tsun Denomination". This, I see, helps to "protect" the Ving Tsun System as well.

Ei, eu não vou mentir! Discípulos fazem muitas besteiras e  "Si Fus" tem muita paciência.  E devo dizer que é um desafio constante estar sempre conectado ao meu Si Fu , sintonizado com seus pedidos e suas ideias ainda que muitas vezes não me ocorra a razão ou as razões delas. Nesse exato momento, estou deixando muitas delas escaparem , outras tantas, estou me esforçando não só para cumprir como principalmente para entendê-las, aderindo a elas , para então me apoiar em seus potenciais e propor uma terceira coisa...
Independente do que eu faça ou deixe de fazer, entendo hoje que quando faço , era meu papel como discípulo e quando deixo de fazer, perco um tempo que não volta mais...

Hey, I'm not going to lie! Disciples mess up a lot and "Si Fus" has a lot of patience. And I must say that it is a constant challenge to always be connected to my Si Fu, tuned to his requests and his ideas although I often do not occur to me the reasons of them. At this very moment, I am letting many of them escape, many others, I am striving not only to accomplish but mainly to understand them, adhering to them, to then lean on their potentials and propose a third thing ...
Regardless of what I do or do not do, I understand today that when I do, it was my role as a disciple and when I stop doing it, I lose some time that does not come back ...

GRAND-MASTER LEO IN RIO (GRÃO-MESTRE LEO IMAMURA NO RIO)

Nos próximos dias 17 e 18, Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura estará no Rio de Janeiro para uma série de atividades . Dentre elas, teremos dois seminários de formação de novos tutores, abertos a todos os membros da Moy Yat Ving Tsun, e também aos membros do Ving Tsun Experience que se mostrem interessados.
Todos estes eventos e atividades ocorrerão no Núcleo Barra da Tijuca.

In the coming days 17 and 18, Grand Master Leo Imamura will be in Rio de Janeiro for a number of activities. Among them, we will have two training seminars for new tutors, open to all members of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun, and also to members of the Ving Tsun Experience that may be interested.
All these events and activities will take place in Barra da Tijuca School

No primeiro dia de sua visita, Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura vai inaugurar as novas instalações do Núcleo Barra(foto). Único Núcleo de Décima Primeira Geração da Moy Yat Ving Tsun martial Intelligence no mundo que abriga um Clã: O Clã Moy Jo Lei Ou.
Este trabalho e vanguarda do meu Mestre Julio Camacho terá mais uma vez a anuência de seu próprio Mestre Leo Imamura com esta inauguração.

On the first day of his visit, Grand Master Leo Imamura will inaugurate the new school in Barra da Tijuca (photo). The only School of 11th Generation in Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence in the world that is home of a clan: The  Moy Jo Lei Ou Clan.
The work and the forefront of my Master Julio Camacho will once again have the consent of his own Master Leo Imamura with this inauguration.

Na Sequência da inauguração no dia 17 de Setembro, Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura vai dar uma palestra contando sua trajetória desde um praticante da Moy Yat Ving Tsun em Nova Iorque até se tornar um Grão-Mestre e a liderança da Moy Yat Ving Tsun na América Latina e em partes da Europa.
Esta palestra, vai compreender temas como : Falta de apoio , crises financeiras, desmotivação, falta de tempo, e tantos outros temas que afligem praticantes ano após ano. A ideia desta palestra é que os praticantes possam enxergar melhor , como superar esses tipos de obstáculos através das palavras de alguém que os venceu e ainda os vence diariamente.

After the inauguration on September 17, Grand Master Leo Imamura will give a speech telling his career from a practitioner of Moy Yat Ving Tsun in New York to become a Grand Master and the leadership of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun in Latin America and parts of Europe.
This talk will understand topics such as: Lack of support, financial crises, lack of motivation, lack of time, and so many other issues that plague practitioners year after year. The idea of this lecture is that practitioners can see better, how to overcome these types of obstacles through the words of someone who beat them and still beat everyday.

Acima, vemos uma foto mal tirada por um de meus To Dai, de um cartão de visita do Patriarca Moy Yat que está disposto na Casa dos Discípulos em São Paulo, no qual ele se denomina: "Tutor Ving Tsun Kung Fu".
Geralmente vemos o uso de termos como "professor", "Instrutor" , etc... Relacionados à transmissão do Sistema Ving Tsun ou mesmo de outras artes marciais.
Na Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, usamos o termo "Tutor", que pode significar: "indivíduo que exerce uma tutela.Aquele que ampara, protege, defende; guardião."
Esta palavra está mais de acordo com o trabalho que fazemos preservando o legado do Ving Tsun, e por isso, esse seminário que acontecerá depois do almoço no Sábado , e que propõe um primeiro entendimento a importância de ser um "Tutor" na jornada de um praticante.É fundamental para entender uma das essências de nosso trabalho.

Usually we see the use of terms such as "teacher" related to the transmission of Ving Tsun or other martial arts.
In Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, we use the term "Tutor", which can mean "person who exercises a guardianship. The one who supports, protects, defends, guardian."
This word is more in line with the work we do to preserve the legacy of Ving Tsun, and therefore this seminar which will take place after lunch on Saturday,  proposes a first understanding and the importance of being a "Tutor" on the journey of a practitioner  Its fundamental for understanding one of the essence of our work.

O "Ving Tsun Experience" se origina da percepção visionária de Patriarca Moy Yat . Usamos ele hoje na Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, também como ferramenta para que pessoas do mundo todo, de diferentes idades, propósitos e backgrounds possam conhecer de forma aprofundada o Sistema Ving Tsun através de seis níveis. Mas por outro lado, o "Ving Tsun Experience" guarda o potencial do reconhecimento de novos descendentes da Linhagem Moy Yat. Isso quer dizer que, tanto o praticante do "Experience" pode se reconhecer como um membro da Família Kung Fu e buscar sua admissão nela , como a própria Família Kung Fu pode convidar este praticante a integrá-la.
Para que isso e muito mais possa acontecer, os membros do Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang, devem se preparar para assumir sessões de forma a não só ajudar o Mo Gun, ajudar seu Si Fu e sua Família Kung Fu, identificar um novo membro para esta Família, mas principalmente. Se desenvolver como pessoa, através da interação constante com iniciantes dos mais diversos tipos e com os mais diversos objetivos!
O Seminário que prepara novos tutores de Ving Tsun Experience será no Domingo dia 18.

The "Ving Tsun Experience" stems from the visionary perception of Patriarch Moy Yat. We used it today in the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, also as a tool for people around the world, of different ages, backgrounds and purposes can know in depth the Ving Tsun system through six levels. But on the other hand, the "Ving Tsun Experience" holds the potential of recognition of new descendants of Moy Yat Lineage. This means that both the practitioner of the  "Experience" can be recognized as a member of the Family Kung Fu and seek admission in it, as the very Family Kung Fu can invite the practitioner to integrate it.
For this and more can happen, members of the Great Moy Yat Sang Clan, should be prepared to take sessions in order to not only help the Mo Gun, help their Si Fu and his family Kung Fu, identify a new member to this family, but mostly. Develop themselves as a person, through constant interaction with beginners of all kinds and with different objectives!
The seminar that prepares new tutors on Ving Tsun Experience will be on Sunday the 18th.

Numa vida dedicada às artes marciais e ao Ving Tsun, Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura é um orgulho nacional no que se trata do conhecimento técnico e conceitual do Ving Tsun. Nasceu na cidade de São Paulo, em 18 de março de 1963. Filho de família com ascendência japonesa, seus pais, Malho Imamura e Mioko Imamura, iniciaram o seu primogênito nas artes marciais nipônicas, quando ele contava com 8 anos de idade.
Sua vocação para as artes marciais fizeram que o jovem Léo estudasse, em teoria e na prática, as mais diversas modalidades. Antes dos 16, ele já havia se destacado no cenário marcial brasileiro, pelo Karate-Do e pela arte de armas de Okinawa, o Kobudo, seguindo primeiramente o renomado sensei Taketo Okuda. Ainda jovem, Léo apareceu e escreveu em diversas publicações de artes marciais no Brasil.
No entanto, após oito anos de dedicação nas artes japonesas, ele encontrou sua verdadeira senda na arte marcial chinesa do Kung Fu, em particular, no estilo Ving Tsun (Wing Chun).

A life dedicated to the martial arts and Ving Tsun, Grand Master Leo Imamura is a national pride when it comes to the technical and conceptual knowledge of Ving Tsun. Born in São Paulo, on March 18, 1963. Family Child of Japanese ancestry, his parents, Malho Imamura and Mioko Imamura began their firstborn in Nipponese martial arts when he had 8 years old.
His vocation to the martial arts made the young Léo study in theory and in practice, the most diverse forms. Before 16, he had already been highlighted in the Brazilian martial scenario, trough the Karate-Do and the art of weapons of Okinawa Kobudo, first following the renowned sensei Taketo Okuda. As a young man, Leo appeared and wrote in several martial arts publications in Brazil.
However, after eight years of dedication in the Japanese arts, he found his true path in the Chinese martial art of Kung Fu in particular in Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) style.
