WHAT IS A "SI HING"(師兄)? AN ESSAY ON A SUCH COMPLEX TERM FROM "MO LAM".

(Entre 2007 e 2015, representei meu Si Fu no bairro do Méier.

(Between 2007 and 2015, I represented my Si Fu in the Méier neighborhood. During that period, many of my Kung Fu brothers started under my tutelage. After being titled Master and inaugurating my Kung Fu Family, they gradually sought their direct contact with our Si Fu. This photo was taken on the day that part of this group accessed the Final Top Level "Baat Jaam Do". The photo with Si Fu is emblematic in itself, as it symbolizes a "side-by-side" journey that needed renew.)

Numa Família Kung Fu, temos duas figuras muito conhecidas: O Si Hing(師兄) e o Si Dai(師弟).

In a Kung Fu Family, we have two very well-known figures: Si Hing (師兄) and Si Dai (師弟).
When we speak of the martial arts circles that we call "Mo Lam" (武林), we are referring to an immanent world within everyday society itself. And as such, it has its own rules. One of its most striking features is the use of the Si (師) ideogram present in the terms used so that we can refer to a member of our Si Mun (師 門) that we understand as "Kung Fu Family". So, even for a native of the general language and dialects present in China, there are no translations for terms like Si Hing (師兄) and Si Dai (師弟), they just "are". And because we have languages in the West that do not understand the full range of developments in the Chinese language, we tend to adapt to "older brother" (Hing 師兄) and "younger brother" (Dai 師弟). But note, that this translation does not include Si (師). Therefore, we adapted again and started to use "Elder Kung Fu Brother " (Si Hing 師兄) and "Younger Kung Fu Brother  " (Si Dai 師弟).
Note that we now have a english translation, which includes the relational function ("Elder or younger brother") and nature ("Kung Fu").

(The photo above shows my Si Mo and Si Fu watching me while I perform "Siu Nim Do", a sequence of movements present in the Experience Program of our Clan. I didn't know that I would do it, but as a the oldest member of the Kung Fu Family present , maybe Si Fu found it interesting to ask me to show it to the rookies. By nature I’m very shy, but for more than twenty years, I understood the importance of honoring my "social role" within "Mo Lam". it does not mean that I don't stay shy or can't make mistakes. It just means that understanding my function as "Si Hing" helps me better manage those emotions and insecurities.)

According to Professor Karen L. Lai, in her work "A introduction to chinese philosophy" (2008): ... "In Chinese philosophy, an individual is in essence a 'oneself' constituted and relationally situated. This means that there are many factors that shape the 'oneself', including its relationships with significant people and its experiences within its historical, cultural, social and political contexts ... "

In her book, Professor Karen L. Lai, divides the Confucian doctrine between "Rites" and "Humanity". And within that ritual / formal / protocol bias, she said that it maps different patterns to appropriate behavior according to someone's place in a given relationship. In this way, individuals are familiar with the different obligations and emotions that are appropriate in specific relationships. According to her, the continuous practice of this protocol bias of Confucian logic, fosters a deeper appreciation of human relations.

(Eu e meu irmão Kung Fu Mais novo Vladimir Anchieta.

(Me and my younger brother Kung Fu Vladimir Anchieta. Regardless of our age difference of fourteen years , I was admitted to the Kung Fu Family before. That made me the oldest Kung Fu brother, or "Si Hing")

As the classical Chinese culture is exotic to ours and all of its internal structure. A person can only understand and experience what "Kung Fu Life" is, if he is under the tutelage of someone who has also experienced it. The "oldest" or Si Hing (師兄), is a person on this journey who has a responsibility with the function he occupy within a Kung Fu Family structure in relation to someone who occupies the function of the "youngest" called Si Dai (師弟). But note, that one thing is "function" or "situation" and quite another thing is "play a role". It is like a mother, she has the social function of a mother, but it is something quite different, of how she will perform this function.
In some cases the relationships within the Kung Fu Family will be so close, that there will be a tendency to confuse the person and the function that he occupies.
My Si Fu would have said once, that we could preserve the Kung Fu Family for this other type of relationship, and leave the friendship for itself, for relationships outside the Family.

In my case and that of Vladimir (PHOTO above), we are very like each other very much. But there has always been a very clear respect in our treatment, which has guided our interactions over the decades. After twenty years, we can speak with pride, which we never have been disrespectful with eah other. And when we practice, we don't hold hands either when it comes to striking.

(Me and my younger Kung Fu brother Rodrigo Moreira. I met Rodrigo at college, and more than ten years later he was admitted to the Kung Fu Family. Although we had the same Si Fu, he practiced under my tutelage in the Méier neighborhood, for to be closer to his house. This caused us some confusion).

Imediatamente minha postura mudou e me percebi "atuando no papel" de Si Hing(師兄).

When we confuse "function" with "playing a role", we end up putting aside who we are, to live a character within a relationship. In addition, we expect the same behavior from our peer. It was a case of luck, when my younger Kung Fu brother  Rodrigo, was admitted to the Kung Fu Family. Immediately my posture changed and I did not find myself playing the function of Si Hing (師兄) but just playing a role. As a result, our relationship became extremely mechanical and I often abused it, making myself  almost a Si Fu (師父) for him. Over time, Rodrigo started to relate to our Si Fu directly, and so we two understand , our positions within the Kung Fu Family. It was no longer the case that I mentored and Rodrigo followed, but now, we argue and question ourselves. Our relationship has become light again, and today I see ourselves much more understanding of it than before. his admission to the Family. So I would say that there is no "Si Hing (師兄) role" but a "function".
(Com Si Fu e meus irmãos Kung Fu Claudio e Carlos num restaurante da Zona Oeste do Rio)
(With Si Fu and my Kung Fu brothers  Claudio and Carlos in a restaurant in the West Zone of Rio)

]
Quando falamos em Si Fu (師父) e seu To Dai(徒弟), estamos falando de um "seguidor"(To Dai 徒弟).

When we talk about Si Fu (師父) and his To Dai (徒弟), we are talking about a "follower" (To Dai 徒弟). It is up to a "follower" to develop the art of "following". It is different from the relations between Si Hing (師兄) and Si Dai (師弟). There is no "follower" in the Si Hing-Dai (師 兄弟) relationship. There are people in different positions within a family organization, with different functions. The art is in understanding how they get along. Since according to Karen L. Lai, in the "Analects" of Confucius (15:24) there is the concept of "shu", which can be translated as "reciprocity" or "mutuality", which captures the essence that there is an exchange in relations.

So, when a Si Hing (師兄) comes across a Si Dai (師弟) that has just arrived, it is easy to deposit a series of guidelines and demands on him, since the Si Dai (師弟) will not be able to question the Si Hing (師兄). With maturity, the Si Dai (師弟) can better understand his position and function in the Family, and the Si Hing (師兄) still does not. Therefore, sometimes the Si Hing (師兄) will be frustrated waiting for Si Dai (師弟) to "play a role", which he played before, although without knowing it.

This essay emerged from a scene that marked me a lot in the excellent documentary series "The Last Dance" (Available on NETFLIX). In it, Michael is confronted by testimonies from former teammates saying how difficult it was to live with him. His thirst for victory, pushed his teammates to the limit in training and day to day. Says Michael Jordan visibly moved: "... I don't have to do it that way. The only reason I act like this, is because this is me, this is how I play the game ... This is my mentality. If you don't want to play that way ... Don't play that way ... "
(Momento divertido com meus irmãos kung fu
Thiago Silva e Carlos Antunes no casamento do Si Fu e Si Mo.)

(Fun time with my kung fu brothers
Thiago Silva and Carlos Antunes at the wedding of Si Fu and Si Mo.)

Therefore, sometimes we get so close to our Kung Fu brothers in the personal field, that when the time comes, we no longer have the condition of Si Hing (師兄) to show the hole. It is like a "Chi Sau" practice, you should not refuse an invitation to do "Chi Sau" and if the other person opens the center line you should go foward it. And if we are unable to act according to our Si Hing (師兄) function. I believe we are doing what Si Fu told us not to do: Put friendship before function. So, it is as if there is an imbalance between the process of humanity and formality.
And who knows, at the end of the day, we realize that the blow we didn't want to shoot at a dear Kung Fu brother. It has more to do with our commitment to play the role of a nice guy, than not having a ceremony to strike.

(NGAN FAAT) - SI FU´S SECRET ON HOW TO USE SIU NIM TAU WHEN SOMEONE IS BREAKING DOWN

(Si Fu does the "Siu Nim Tau" on the day he took the keys
of the new room in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio in 2004)

When I started practicing Ving Tsun, a lot was said about the word "focus" related to Siu Nim Tau. It took twelve years for me to reshape that understanding. For it was said at that time, that when we expanded our arms laterally at shoulder height in the second part of Siu Nim Tau, we should use the so-called "peripheral vision".
Without thinking hard about the theme, twelve years later, following my Si Fu teaching my younger Kung Fu sister Cynthia Tong, I heard from Si Fu that she could "relax her eyes".
Si Fu would have said that when we focus, we tend to disregard everything around us. According to him, this also happened with the so called "peripheral vision". Therefore, Si Fu said that when we relax our eyes, we can perceive "the whole". That speech brought me a new awareness of the information I had received twelve years earlier, and which I did not dedicate myself to maturing.

When we speak of "Faat" (法) in Chinese martial arts, we may be referring to a myriad of possibilities. We may, for example, be referring to "Sau Faat" (手法) that in one case, we can speak of "the use of hands" in a certain style, System or moment of a System of Variation. However, although not very evident, some martial arts use an "Faat"(法) for" Eyes "(眼 Ngan) what we would call" Ngan Faat "(眼 法).

(Here I was doing the "Siu Nim Tau" on the day I took the keys
of the new room in Meier "Wild" Neighborhood, North Zone of Rio in 2011)

When we take as an example this part of the second part of Siu Nim Tau. Many people prepare the movement, and just see the moment of preparation and the end point of the execution. They are not aware of the trajetory of the arms over 180 degrees, and also they are not aware of the eyes during this process.
In addition the ideogram "Nim" (念) of "Siu Nim Tau", unites two ideograms: "Gam" (今) that refers to a process of something "actual". And "Sam" (心), which can be understood as "conscience". In this way, as I heard when I started on this path of the Ving Tsun System. The "Nim" (念) of "Siu Nim Tau" refers to a process of "updating consciousness", that is: of being present during the entire trajectory of the movement, and not just when it starts or when it ends .

Therefore, when we expand our arms laterally, we also need to consider all the possibilities throughout this 180º expansion, and not just its preparation and the end of the execution. And more: How to keep us conscious during the movement? Perhaps it is the case of executing the "Jiu Sik" in a timing chain that is possible for us to be present mentally.

Therefore, at a time like the one we are living in, where people can only perceive themselves as "healthy" or "intubated" in an ICU. Or "Prosperous" and "bankrupt". We could relax our eyes, as Si Fu suggested to my Kung Fu sister . So that as in the lateral expansion of the arms of the second part of Siu Nim Tau. We can appreciate all the possibilities that are open to us. And not just its extremes. Let us not be shortsighted, let us use Kung Fu with our eyes.

How has my quarantine been living in a Kung Fu School

The world has somewhat slowed down, and simple things like leaving home are no longer possible as before (at least in the way we believed it used to be). And in this quarantine process, I have been living at Mo Gun (PHOTO).
For an enthusiast like me, it's like living that child's dream: "Imagine if they forgot me trapped inside a toy store, closed and I could spend the night playing with everything I wanted?" - Have you ever imagined that? I have.
I have enjoyed my time in a very special way, and thanks to the decrease in things to do outside,  I have much more time to produce. In fact, I can't remember another time when I produced so much material. The ability to research, to know the right books, to take appropriate photos from archives and to have a series of Kung Fu Life records alive in my mind after years of writing on this page. They are being extremely important to produce a lot of content in a short time, for remote meetings with my students.

At certain times of the week, I need to leave as I have to play the role of biologist (PHOTO). For these moments, I take the necessary care, prepare my favorite songs in my walkman and set aside a good book to catch up on reading, while I'm waiting for the subway to arrive. After all, due to the new format of public transport operation, between a train and another, there is a twenty minute wait.

Sometimes when I arrive at a station, once as busy as Cardinal Arco Verde in Copacabana, and find it deserted that way in the middle of the day (PHOTO) or during rush hour, I remember my Si Fu. Si Fu often says that when there is a very large offer of something, we tend to devalue that thing. And on second thought, I believe that we will give greater value to the simple fact of being able to leave our houses and walk on the streets.

Basically every day in the evening, we have our remote meetings(PHOTO) with different themes. The fact of being based on Mo Gun, has been of great help to use the scenario in my favor and the others who are watching these meetings.
Staying at Mo Gun has also been an opportunity to live with myself. You don't see me coming home and not turning on loud music that takes up all the space. But at Mo Gun, you can't do that. Sometimes I watch a documentary, sometimes I listen to music, sometimes I read, and sometimes, I try to make the best of myself.

On Saturday nights I usually play the guitar. When I play some Bon Jovi music, I remember my life in 1998, when I discovered the band through the CD "Crossroads". In those days, martial arts was something that I was beginning to make contact with through Tae Kwon Do and the Jackie Chan and Golden Harvest films. But never, in my most fanciful dreams, did I imagine myself during a pandemic living in a martial arts school.
(Com Si Fu em 2013)
(With Si Fu in 2013)

And finally when I feel very alone, whether at Mo Gun or walking through empty stations and subway cars. I remember Si Fu in 2013. In those days, Si Fu lived lonely moments in his apartment in Recreio neighborhood. He came out wiser and stronger from that process. And then remembering that, I keep going to keep growing. After all, it is the life of the martial artist: To have the fiber to fight.

In some moments when I remembered that Si Fu was about to move to the USA, I wondered how our contact would be from there. However, thanks to quarantine, we have had the opportunity to speak with tools like SKYPE, for an hour, sometimes even more than that. On topics that I usually take and that I lack some level of clarification.

About these fragments of memory of these meetings, I will call that "Si Fu Talks". Always sharing a little of what we talked about, as was the case with our remote meeting yesterday, in which Si Fu talked about "Symbols". In particular, the  Moy Jo Lei Ou Family symbol and Moy Fat Lei's one.

About "Symbols", Si Fu (PHOTO) commented that this is one of the three types of possible "sign", the second being the richest of the three: "A symbol does not carry a resemblance to its meaning" - he said then he continued - "And it is precisely because it has no resemblance to its 'meaning', that it is so rich. It has no direct relationship with what it represents"
Si Fu commented on something I didn't know: According to him, the word "Family" itself, is a symbol, as it does not represent what in fact relationships within a family mean. For this reason, he says that we value symbolic processes so much - "... because it opens up the possibility of putting what you want to do in there ..."

Many people know the symbol of the  Moy Yat Kung Fu Family, which is also the symbol of our Lineage. We transliterate this since the 2000s as "Mui Fa" (Formerly transliterated as "Moy Fah"). Regardless of transliteration, we translate it as "Plum blossom".
When the Official Transliteration of Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence was developed, according to a conversation with Si Gung by MSN in the same decade, he would have told me that some transliterations would have been preserved, since they were already very known, even if with another spelling, we approached more of its sound(For brazilian-portuguese speakers). Thus, terms that were previously transliterated as "Moy Fah Jong", became "Mui Fa Jong" or as previously said, "Moy Fah" became "Mui Fa". However, this was not the case for "Moy Yat". The name of our Patriarch, had its transliteration maintained.
The ideogram "梅" (Moy) is the "Family Name" of Patriarch Moy Yat, but this same ideogram means "Plum". So, when looking at the flower icon, which is also the national flower of China. You have what Si Fu called, in another opportunity "Visual pun" between the name of the flower and the name of Si Taai Gung. And to complete, in its center we see the archaic version of the ideogram "Yat" (逸). So, when you look at this symbol, you read "Moy Yat".

The Moy Jo Lei Ou Family symbol (Photo) is something very beautiful. - "I could give a lecture of more than three hours about this symbol" - Said Si Fu excitedly. According to him, in many ways it symbolizes our Family with refinement, minimalism and allows us to interpret the thinking of Si Fu who always seeks "integration".
Si Fu, called my attention to the fact that each petal has its limits respected. They integrate, support and are supported, they enter each other but do not mix. Their identities are not lost in this integration process.
(Si Fu when commenting on integration processes that are so important to him)

It was then that one Saturday morning last year, I received a strange message from Si Fu early in the morning: "How important is the Golden Harvest logo for you?" - I was already having breakfast with my disciple Matheus Alves, and whenever a message from Si Fu arrives, I stop everything and prioritize. I read the question  againwithout understanding. I never imagined that Si Fu remembered what "Golden Harvest" was (Laughter) He is not a fan.
I replied then that the famous Chinese film producer, profoundly marked my teenage years when I visited all Rocha Miranda wild neighborhood(Where I used to live) Video-stores, looking for old Hong Kong films. Then, a few minutes later, the following gift from Si Fu arrived on my whatsapp: A personalized symbol for my Family without my asking:

The Moy Fat Lei Family symbol has an "F" and an "L" meeting in opposition - "You usually create an opposition at first, but then you are one of the ones who adheres the most" - Si Fu explained about the letters confronting each other. In addition, two trigrams of the I Ching are present in this symbol that speak more about my nature. The red circle has a double interpretation: Being one of the petals of the  Moy Jo Lei Ou Family Symbol (who is also a clan) and a reference to my interest in Japanese culture throughout my life.

It was very exciting to see the reference to the Golden Harvest logo (PHOTO) that marked me as an opening vignette for the many films I watched between 1998 and 2000.
Si Fu said: "The logo of our institution is undifferentiated, it does not carry any symbol of yourFamily on it." - He smiles and adds - "... So I gave you the best I could: A symbol for your Family. So if I had to hang something on the entrance, on your door ... I would hang your Family symbol ... "

In closing, in the second half of 2005, I had the opportunity to be chosen as what we call "Gai Siu Yan" (Introducer) of Thiago Wasserman (PHOTO). From the moment that Thiago Wasserman and later in the same year Phelipe Pita, they chose me as Gai Siu Yan and, therefore, requested me. My journey as a practitioner of Ving Tsun was no longer so selfish and focused on me alone.
That night with Wasserman, to introduce him, I held a personalized Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence folder in my hands. I've loved those folders since I saw them.

Fourteen years later, the new disciples of my Family's 5th Discipleship Ceremony. They decided to make a folder with the same concept as that of 2005, but this time with the symbol of our Family made by Si Fu (PHOTO).
These little events are profoundly remarkable for me. After all, standing next to Wasserman in 2005, I didn't even have a "Kung Fu Name", fourteen years later there were the folders with the symbol and colors of the Kung Fu Family that I lead and that carry my Kung Fu Name.
This article talks a little about  the magic of Kung Fu Life.

Housing my Si Fu family's belongings in my Mo Gun.

(With Si Fu on the day of the official presentation of our new Mo Gun.Rio, 2018)

Recently Si Fu made the decision leave the rooms of the MYVT Barra School, which housed the Kung Fu Family House of the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family (of which he is the Leader). And after more than twenty years, I followed a series of change of rooms in different locations and lived my stories with Si Fu and the Kung Fu Family in each one.

In this process of preparing the rooms to give it back to the real estate, a very special leadership that has appeared is Si Fu's disciple called Carmen Maris (Photo). Due to her dedication, she will probably still be mentioned a lot here on the page. Carmen leads the way from dismantling the room to negotiating with the owners(real state).
Regarding my participation in this process, I honestly was not recognizing a way to participate more decisively. I consulted Si Fu and he said something very striking: "You have to understand that your participation will not always involve you being at the wheel of the car." - Si Fu added - "It is important to humbly recognize that sometimes you will not be the most experienced person in the group for a given topic". - Si Fu then reminded me of when renting the first room for MYVT Méier School, I celebrated the renewal of my contract (Laughter), something that happens automatically. I confess that when I heard this audio, for not remembering that passage, I had a good laugh.

Although some of the items from the Mo Gun of the Moy Jo Lei family went to the home of other disciples. To my delight, the vast majority will be kept in my family's Mo Gun.

My disciple Caroline, who resides at Mo Gun, organized these items the same night they arrived. She tried to insert them into our Mo Gun in a harmonic way, as if they were always there. It was a good surprise when I arrived the next morning, and I came across these items. My other disciple, Rodrigo Caputo, when visiting me last Friday said: "Our Mo Gun is more beautiful".

Each item of the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family that now occupies its space in our Mo Gun has its own history, and I am very happy to be able to make sure that they are not only kept, but their use preserved in a Mo Gun of a Family that descends of the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family.

At the ancestral table, for example, we thought it best to place the chairs (Gau Yi) of the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family in place of the ones we use in our Mo Gun. So the upholstery will be preserved from dust and moisture.
Furthermore, for some mysterious reason, these chairs, having their upholstery made by my Kung Fu Paula Gama sister  around 2006, remind me of one of my favorite periods of my relationship with my Si Fu. So, looking at these chairs over there, makes me feel Si Fu more closer, even being so distant in USA.

Of all the items that came to my family's Mo Gun, I deliberately manipulated the coming of the Nespresso machine (Laughter). Now, we are better prepared for quarantine (Laughter).

Si Gung says that a leader must learn to "feel things in the air". And for those who spend a lot of time inside a Mo Gun, or who have the opportunity to live in one like I am having (again). You know there's an energy in Mo Gun. And it was very magical to perceive more than a change in energy with the arrival of these items, but rather a kind of "boost", an energy added or increased to what was already there. It is indescribable.

4 YEARS OF MOY FAT LEI FAMILY

(The day wich I hang the Jiu Paai on the wall)

Não é incomum alguém me perguntar: "Ei!

Next April 9th we will celebrate the first four years of the Kung Fu Family, which I am the leader of. And it couldn't be better: I can't remember a time when different members interacted as much as they do now and so positively.
So, out of the many possibilities that we imagine for this year's celebration, we would never imagine the harmony with which we would find ourselves at that moment ...

It is not uncommon for someone to ask me, "Hey! So what? How long does it take to become a Master?" This is a question that I always try to answer in a way that helps the person to reflect on his own question. However, I believe that more important than asking about "When" is thinking about "How" ....

On one of his trips accompanying Si Gung, Si Fu said that when he was in NY, he expected Si Gung to talk to Si Baak Gung William Moy (photo) in his office. Suddenly Si Gung would have opened the door and said, "Julio, Si Baak wants to give you something." - Si Fu received a frame with the legendary General Guan Yu, Zhang fei and Liu Bei as a gift.
Si Fu never told me what was said about the moment recorded in the photo above.

Today my Kung Fu family's Mo Gun has this frame (PHOTO) on one of its walls. This was because at the end of 2016, during a Traditional Ceremony where some of my To Dai accessed the Cham Kiu Domain. Si Fu surprised me giving me this frame. And on that occasion he spoke about the figure of General Guan Yu representing "loyalty" in Chinese culture. - "And because of that, I wanted to give it to you."
(o famoso quadro no nosso Mo Gun)
(the famous frame in our Mo Gun)

How to become a Master? Be loyal to your Si Fu. It is essential that you develop a feeling of loyalty above anything, and to be able to renew this process when you are authorized to open your own Kung Fu Family yourself.
We realized then that one of the biggest challenges in the trajectory of a Ving Tsun practitioner is to stay together. You see that To Dai very close to a Si Fu, that a while later nobody ever sees him again. Dont be that guy.

If you have read this far, you may be wondering why I was talking about my relationship with my Si Fu on some article about my Kung Fu Family's next birthday . Well, in an alternative reality, I would probably not only be anxious about the uncertainty of the future that has been amplified in recent weeks, but maybe I was investing my time to be scared and spread it on social networks.
As a disciple of my Si Fu, I learned in a mysterious way, to sincerely feel this being one of the best moments of my Family and my career. In some way, this is expressed by the different ability to connect heart to heart, to the point of being able to resinify my view of the world around me.

MOY FAT LEI KUNG FU FAMILY´S QUARANTINE DAYS

(Transmissão em conjunto do Clã Moy Jo Lei Ou sobre a vida do Si Fu Julio Camacho)
(Broadcast by the Moy Jo Lei Ou Clan  about the life of Si Fu Julio Camacho)

When we start with the Ving Tsun System, we do not know that we will encounter different Domains with different natures. These different natures, because they are often not like our own, can cause us distress. Therefore, we tend to feel more comfortable in one domain and less emotionally available in others.
Over time, I realized that I work much better anticipating situations like Siu Nim Tau. So following the first news from Covid-19 since January, we started making a series of adjustments at MYVT Méier School, where my family's Mo Gun is located, so that when we received the "Lockdown" order, it seemed to be a natural process .
Unlike a feeling of "And now, what are we going to do?" - The Family is increasingly united.
(Fugindo da quarentena em busca de café)
(Escape from quarantine searching for coffee 'espresso')

A curious point of this quarantine has been the fact that I am doing it inside the Mo Gun with my disciple Caroline Archanjo (PHOTO). At the beginning she still needed to leave to work, but now she works home office inside Mo Gun and that has given us good moments of Kung Fu Life. I often joke, saying in live broadcasts that she is the only To Dai on the planet quarantined with Si Fu.

After we discovered a bakery that still serves espresso, my other disciple Rodrigo Caputo (PHOTO), joined us when we needed to go out to buy groceries and refuel with a good espresso!

In the first transmission of all (PHOTO), there was still concern about the adhesion of the new members,  of the MYVT Méier School at this very time.
I did not seem surprised that they were enjoying this moment so much. With the strong adherence of special students (Disciples), a process that could seem like a "patch" at an unexpected time, it showed what it really is: Different ways to explore Kung Fu using our Program.

My interaction with Si Fu in this new scenario has also been very striking (PHOTO). It is clear once again that to follow together it is not necessary to be close. Because we are having a much greater harmony than in the last year.
A long time ago, Si Fu said that our relationship worked better in crisis situations. This still seems to be a point to consider.

I don't know what your quarantine has been like, but always remember my disciple Caroline quarantining  with her Si Fu thats me. Last Saturday I "invited" her to watch "Mad Max 2 - Road Warrior" (1982) starring Mel Gibson. As a good disciple she said in the end:  "The film is a little bit different Si Fu, but it's really cool!" (Laughs)
Support small businesses in your neighborhood and stay at home if you can!
