"Luk Dim Bun Gwan" with Grand Master William Moy.

I had been assisting the Panel for many hours, eagerly anticipating Grand Master William Moy's discussion on 'Luk Dim Bun Gwan'. It so happened that when I was much younger, my Master Julio Camacho allegedly told me that during a conversation with Grand Master William Moy in São Paulo on a certain occasion, he shared that when you have a clear awareness of the shoulder line while practicing 'Luk Dim Bun Gwan', you hardly need to look. As the staff would naturally follow the line towards the opponent. That story fascinated me both because of my young age and the fact that in those days, it wasn't allowed to watch 'Luk Dim Bun Gwan' practice. So, imagining the son of Patriarch Moy Yat practicing without looking was almost magical. In the blink of an eye, 22 years had passed and there I was standing, holding the microphone so that Grand Master William himself could speak precisely about 'Luk Dim Bun Gwan'. In these moments, I become very emotional about life; it's almost magical, and I was very focused not to smile, as it was almost involuntary. After all, a part of me wondered - 'Would he demonstrate without looking to his oponnent?'

On that day, I left the hotel with my disciple Daniel and Master Felipe Soares's student at 6 a.m. to assist with the setup. I love Saturday mornings, especially that one, which had all the makings of a great day, and I simply didn't imagine that Grand Master William would ask me to help with the demonstration. I was moved, it seemed there was no reason for it, but it was something I carried in my heart. Perhaps that's why when he said - 'Pick up the pole' - I grabbed his staff and not the other. So, for about 3 seconds, it was just the two of us, each holding one end of the same staff, with him looking at me, perhaps trying to understand what I was doing, until he said - 'Not this one, the other pole'.

"Ok, você pode disparar" - disse ele. E eu dei o meu melhor disparo.
Assim, você poderia me ver ali na demonstração.

"Okay, now, go ahead." he said. And I took my best shot.
So, you could see me there in the demonstration.

Eu nunca desisti.

When we open a 'Mo Gun', we must have clear the reason for doing so within the context in which we find ourselves, that's what I believe. If you lose sight that your job is to safeguard the Ving Tsun System, perhaps you may do things for money, for the power that the leadership position provides (even within a small 'bubble' of the people in your circle), you may allow yourself not to fulfill what was agreed upon with a single student or with an entire group. Or perhaps, out of innocence, you may not fully grasp the responsibility that this act will demand of you. Similarly, I believe that as the years go by for a professional or simply someone who conducts work in this field, if we lose sight of the enchantment and colour that martial arts provided us when we began the journey, we lose strength and give up. You might even say: 'Hey, I'm focusing on this now, or on that...' - But deep down, you can no longer prioritize. And as the saying goes, as quoted by Yamamoto Tsunetomo in the book 'Hagakure' (Ed. Conrad, 2004) - 'When your heart asks, what do you answer?' - That's why moments like these with Grand Master William Moy mean a lot to me. There are those initial objectives from when you started, and each time you pass through them more mature, you ask yourself: 'Have I made it?' - At that moment, for a few simple minutes, there is an 18-year-old Thiago somewhere inside who, 22 years later, not only witnessed the long-awaited demonstration of Grand Master William's staff, but also took part in it. If that isn't the ultimate for a martial artist, I don't know what is. I never gave up

GM PETE PAJIL: SHARP LIKE A KNIFE

I hadn't imagined, but I was about to experience a very special moment with Grandmaster Pete Pajil. He arrived from the USA that Friday in Brasília. We sat at a table in a restaurant, surrounded by the incredible view of Pontão do Lago Sul. Grandmaster Pete seemed energised since his arrival. Quickly, all attention at the table turned to him. Fortunately, I was by his side. Provoked by Master Quintela, he began to share his perspective on life. My Kung Fu brother, Roberto Viana, was nearby, and I thought it best to translate for him; after all, what the Grandmaster was saying was very special. And my Kung Fu brother deserved to hear it.

That moment with Si Baak Gung Pete had started much earlier for me. I had decided to arrive in Brasília on Thursday, the 14th of March, to help with the organization of the whole event. With that, I was able to enjoy a lot of 'Kung Fu Life' with my Si Gung. As shown in the photo above, where we are having coffee together. In addition to me, my two disciples who accompanied me also had these same opportunities. Si Gung commented that often on birthdays, he can't give the attention that a particular person needs due to the high volume of demands. So, it's as if the person only receives 30 seconds of his attention - '...This person could be here with us at this moment, experiencing the 'Kung Fu Life', because then I could give attention as I am giving to you and your disciples...' - Si Gung would have said while we were crossing the city by car.

"...Thiago, eu me mantenho conectado, não importa o quão adversa seja a situação.

At the airport, while we were waiting for the other international guests to arrive, Si Baak Gung remembered me and my Si Hing and turned his attention to us. There were almost 30 minutes of a very special insight into how to manifest your Kung Fu in different ways, right there in the middle of the airport. I just couldn't help but notice how sharp Si Baak Gung seemed to be. When he asked me to approach a punch coming towards me, he would have said, "...That doesn't exist in a real fight. You don't do that..."-  Then he made a series of demonstrations about a more mature way to do it. On another occasion, he explained that in a fight, we are the last to move. "...Thiago, I stay connected, no matter how adverse the situation. I don't move first, I let the person move. You can see him 'load'..." - Then he made a move as if he put one foot forward - "...I'm always on guard, I was telling Terryann, I was in line, but I was ready, like a cat about to attack. But you don't notice because you cant see the movement..."

At the Pontão restaurant, Si Baak Gung was talking about his Salsa classes: "...In a fight, I move last, but in Salsa, I need to lead the dance. You need to stay connected, and you feel the connection with the other person, so when you switch partners, the person pulls you back..." - At another point in the conversation, he would have said - "...People are unaware that they are unaware..." - Referring to people's lack of ability to take responsibility for their choices or even to understand that they exist.

- Perguntou ele a mim. Eu... Acho que sim..." - Ele me interrompeu com um gesto de mãos e me pediu - "...Thiago, agora pergunta para mim: 'Você consegue lutar?'.. Vamos lá! Me pergunta!.."

Back at the airport, Si Baak Gung Pete would have commented that he prefers to strike at rib height because most guys protect their heads and forget about that area - "...Thiago, most of the fight happens under the radar..." - He concluded. However, he creates a series of conditions for that to occur naturally. The next day, at the lunch table during the panel break, he answered a question of mine as follows - "...Thiago, do you know why men bond with other men? Of course, we have sports, the army, common interests... But there's respect. We know, as men, that at a table like this, no matter how much fun we're having, there's a line that cannot be crossed... "- His certainty was felt in every word I heard. He continued - "...Thiago, can you fight?" - He asked me. Everyone at the table looked at me; there were twelve of us. I wanted to be "polite" and replied - "Well... I... I think so..." - He interrupted me with a hand gesture and asked me - "...Thiago, now ask me: 'Can you fight?'.. Come on! Ask me!.." - He said, gesturing for me not to waste time. I asked the question, and he responded in a different tone - "Yes." - Then he asked me if I knew why he could answer with certainty and I couldn't - "...Because you don't have enough experience, Thiago. I do..." - He smiled and commented - "...Thiago, I'm 70 years old... Can you believe it? Unbelievable! But I don't move like a 70-year-old; people don't respect a senior citizen. I was walking down the street, and there was this guy with an unleashed dog, so I said: 'Hey!  leash your dog!'..."

(Almoço com Grão Mestre Pete no intervalo do painel. ).

(Lunch with Grandmaster Pete during the panel break. ).

- Disse ele e prosseguiu - "Ele então me perguntou: 'E quem é você?'

"...So the guy started doing a dance... Never do that dance, I was on guard, but he couldn't see. Don't do that dance." - He said and continued - "He then asked me: 'And who are you?' I replied: 'I'm Si Fu Pete, put a leash on your dog...'" - Si Baak Gung Pete, from the airport, through lunch at Pontão, and ending at this lunch during the panel break, warned us about the importance of being connected, no matter the situation, and more than that: "...The opponent needs to feel something I call the 'Oh Shit! Factor'..." - He said very seriously - "...When you touch your opponent, or when you touch your dance partner's hand, they need to think: 'Oh Shit!' for different reasons because they know you're connected with them..."

Learning to use the "Baat Jaam Do" with Grand Master Leo Imamura.

Ele deu a possibilidade, eu aceitei e me preparei nos dias seguintes. Se ele mostrasse, eu aprenderia, eu tinha me comprometido.

At times, Si Gung would look at me with raised eyebrows. Sometimes, he seemed dismayed, and other times, surprised by my incompetence[Photo above]. In reality, he didn't say anything; these were just projections of mine onto him. The truth is that, at a certain point, he finally stood up and demonstrated a movement, helped guide one of the knives, showed me again, and I simply couldn't execute it. My disciple, Lucas Eustáquio, watched silently from the back of the room. Lucas has been witnessing this entire process with Si Gung. I don't mind, because in a world where resilience is so low, I hope Lucas sees me making mistakes and trying again. After all, a pact was made with Si Gung days before that lesson. He provided the opportunity, I accepted, and prepared myself in the following days. If he showed, I would learn; I had committed myself. It was already 1:00 PM, and we hadn't stopped since 10:00 AM... Finally, Si Gung grabbed a cane, walked across the room to where I was, and without saying a word, began to mobilize the knives. I could feel when I was about to take a blow with the cane; it was live, no excuses. However, I also noticed when the knives fit into place. Later, Lucas would say he found that moment very emblematic exactly because of the facts I described, but he couldn't understand what had changed for me to succeed. Neither could I. Moments later, there I was experiencing my newfound awareness while moving, now with a better understanding. Lucas was with Charles [a student of Master Felipe Soares] sitting next to Si Gung on the other end. Master Felipe Soares himself was also there providing assistance. But as I moved, at a certain point, I was shocked by what Si Gung had just done. He came to me seemingly aware of what needed to be done to lead me to an understanding of the movement. Without speaking, without giving hints, without taking the knives and demonstrating for me to see... It was simply incredible. I wondered how long it took him to reach that level of mobilization and how much it could help the members of my family if I could understand how to act like that.

[Preparo do  Jing Sau Do 正手刀]
[Preparing the  Jing Sau Do 正手刀]

Later that day, Si Gung seemed to anticipate my concerns. He said, "You need to develop your own Kung Fu, not just keep copying me..." I countered, "But if your way is so good, why can't I just copy as best I can?" - Si Gung insisted on the point that everyone needs to develop their own Kung Fu at some point. I also insisted on what I believed - "...I still don't understand the 'Lei' phase of the System, so for now, I think it's okay to do it your way...". The subject ended, and we sat in the lobby of his parents' building waiting for them to come down. During practice with the knives, it also seemed to me that he could read my thoughts. I needed to spin the knives in a movement called Jing Sau Do 正手刀. I started doing this movement by spinning the knives with the tips away from my body. Si Gung shouted from the other end of the room, asking what I was doing. Realizing that I wouldn't be able to understand alone, he got up with his cane and positioned it alongside my body. He then asked me to perform the entire movement without the tip leaving the cane. I was using metal knives, and after understanding the logic of that movement, I realized how much I lacked refined control over the use of knives. At that moment, I thought - "Maybe it's better to use nylon knives..."-  My performance was below what it could be, but another thought occurred to me - "...But it would be a shame to use nylon knives at this point..."-  That's when Si Gung, without taking his eyes off his notebook screen, asked - "Thiago, don't you want to get the nylon knives?"-  Without responding, I just ran and grabbed a pair. And the improvement was gradual from there.

It was seven hours and forty-three minutes of practice. At times, I thought it was over, but it was as if Si Gung let me keep everything just to say, "...What happened? Tired? Want to stop already?" - This happened because most of the time Si Gung remained silent. In moments like these, you need to understand whether to continue, to stop, or what to do... These lessons with Si Gung are like a game from an old video game: you rented the game on Friday and had to finish it by Monday because you had to return it. Back then, you couldn't save your progress and pick up where you left off. If your mother called you for lunch, you had to turn it off and start all over again. So, I try to keep my level of attention and determination always at the maximum, so that I don't miss the opportunity to extract the most from the experience. I had prepared myself to be there, but at a certain point Si Gung would have said - "...Let's see the second part now..."- He paused and continued - "...Although I'm not sure if you'll be able to pass it..."[PHOTO ABOVE]-  Si Gung paused his speech, walked in silence with his arms by his side without moving them as he usually does, and when he sat down, he concluded - "...But it's okay... Just the first part is already enough... You can keep practicing it, it will be more than good enough..." - This possibility didn't exist for me.
[Si Gung steps back, reflecting on whether I will be able to progress beyond the 2nd part.]

We took a break for lunch; Lucas and Charles went ahead as the restaurant queue was long. When they informed us they had secured a table, we stopped the practice for the first time and drove to meet them at the restaurant. On the way, I mentioned to Si Gung an episode involving two Kendo practitioners, which I became aware of in 2020. At the time, the senior, an experienced Master, after practicing a little with the younger one who wanted to interview him, reportedly said that the interviewer wouldn't be able to understand the topic he wanted to inquire about. That story struck a chord with me, and when Si Gung heard it, he laughed heartily, understanding what the Kendo Master meant by it. I then commented that part of the skill lies in observing once and executing immediately afterward. Si Gung agreed - "...Yes... Seeing it just once should be enough..."

E o quanto a frieza é importante.

At a certain point, the practice demanded that I refrain from an excessive reaction to what was happening. As these are highly sophisticated movements, a centimeter more or less is what determines whether you'll protect yourself or be struck by the opponent's weapon. It was very special to observe the coherence behind each part of the list. And how crucial composure is. Si Gung, even when trying to help, you had to be attentive to grasp what he was saying without him uttering a word. I witnessed how he takes the idea of "silent transmission" to the utmost, which, as he mentioned on another occasion, reaches its peak in the "Baat Jaam Do"'s nature. At times, I didn't believe I could progress beyond a certain point, but Si Gung's mobilization ability led me to a sudden understanding that enabled me to continue reasonably.

We ended the day with a very special dinner with Si Gung's parents. It took us a few tries to find the restaurant. Even after nearly eight hours of study, Si Gung seemed as if he had just woken up full of energy, as he spoke to his parents with all possible attention and presence. I, at various moments, got lost in thought and returned to the practice. At some point between practice and dinner, Si Gung reportedly said - "...Today you've elevated to a new level, now you need to keep studying..."-  The dinner took place at a wonderful and cozy Japanese restaurant. Our time there passed quickly, and Si Gung seemed to still have work to do. So, the three of us - Si Gung, Lucas, and I - returned to the Institute because Master Felipe Soares and his To Dai had bid farewell at the end of the practice. The three of us remained, and we had a conversation full of learning. It was quite a day, where every second was worth it. I went to bed with a clear conscience that night, as I also felt that I had reached a new level.

WHY I DECIDED TO BECOME A MARTIAL ARTIST AT 40

This is me in 1986, in the photo I am with my dad and two of his brothers. While I hug my dad, you can see me wearing a cap. It wasn't just any cap. It was one he gave me from LOTUS, the team that Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna was racing for at the time. The 98T car is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful of all time, due to its livery inspired by sponsor John Player Special.
For some mysterious reason, my dad greatly respected someone with a good memory. He used to make bets at work, involving money, based on his ability to memorise long serial numbers present on the currency of the time. When he picked me up at my mum's house, on the ascent of the Madureira viaduct, you could see the logo of Nacional Bank. My dad asked me whose bank that was. I replied that it belonged to Senna because Nacional bank sponsored Senna. My dad would then make me repeat the entire Formula 1 grid at the time, with all the drivers' names and surnames, as well as which team they were with. As a result, I ended up developing a liking for Senna and Formula 1...

Perhaps one of the most emotional moments of my life was when Si Gung [photo] asked me: "...Thiago, do you want recognition or knowledge? Because if you want only recognition, I can give it to you. There are several ways to help you with that... Now, if you say you want knowledge, you'll have to be ready to work hard. More than you ever imagined... And one very important thing: No holidays!" - He said, smiling and remembering a story - "... You know, once we were in an immersion week twenty years ago, I asked if anyone had any questions and one of your Si Suk asked: 'Si Fu, but when will the holidays be?' - He laughed and continued - '... In our field, our holidays are while we work because we love what we do...' - Si Gung became serious and continued - '... In this field, if you don't love what you do, after a while, you won't be able to go on... So I ask you: Are you ready to work like never before?' - I replied yes...

When I said yes to Si Gung's question, I was already a Si Fu with disciples and had been working in the Méier district since 2008. However, quickly, through very impactful examples, I discovered that I had a long way to go... The contact with Master Tiago Quintela made me realise that it's possible to be an explicitly caring and relaxed person and still be a respected professional. I also had more contact with Master Gabriel Mendes, someone who understands the System in a very impressive way, earning the admiration of all. Additionally, I got to know Master Felipe and Nataniel again. Master Felipe, an extremely conciliatory, thoughtful, and serious person, and Master Nataniel, even with almost his entire life as a disciple, follows his Si Fu like a beginner. All these examples inspired me to become a martial artist at the age of 40. Therefore, I decided to restart my study of the Ving Tsun System from scratch and, after each qualification opportunity, reflect on what it means to be a professional in the martial arts.

This decision was supported from the outset by my Si Fu, who has always supported all my decisions over the years. Many times, believing in me more than I do myself.

After months of observing my Si Gung more closely, through his conduct as a martial artist and professional, I realised that I didn't know what I was doing until then. I felt like I had reached a 'ceiling', but didn't know what to do, so it was like I had finally discovered.
Si Gung prepares every moment of the day attentively and patiently, but what impresses me the most is his beginner's spirit. He doesn't worry about saying he forgot, doesn't remember, or didn't understand. Quickly, he opens his computer and checks the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Programme, exactly as he always asks us to do. And during the day, when Kung Fu Life occurs almost spontaneously, he never deviates from the subject and even when it seems like he does, he ties it back to something relevant to the understanding of the System. It's a capacity for monitoring, attention, and care for the journey of each disciple and student so great that I sometimes felt ashamed of what I was doing until then. At those times, I reinforce my internal desire to improve. Not to improve for myself, after all, any praise I receive I owe to my Si Fu. But to improve for my disciples, who are the ones who will actually speak about what kind of work I was able to do.

- Teria dito ele. Então eu decidi que é nessa dimensão que eu quero atuar.

Thanks to my father, I became a fan of Senna [PHOTO aabove], and one of the most interesting moments of his was in his famous interview on the  'Roda Viva' show, where the journalists seemed mesmerised by Senna's answers to the questions. He responded in a way that made it clear that what he was doing was much more than a job, but a way of life. It was as if he was talking to people who lived in a different dimension from the one he lived in.
I decided to become a martial artist at the age of 40 because the interaction with Si Gung in recent months brought me the same sensation: that Si Gung was in another dimension of conduct, understanding of the System, professionalism, etc. - "...There are practitioners who practice the Ving Tsun System their whole life and have never been in the Kung Fu Dimension... Some enter for a few moments, but leave shortly after..." - He would have said. So I decided that it is in this dimension that I want to operate.

The Ving Tsun System back to the Brazilian Army's Special Forces.

My father used to speak about how much he wished I would become a military man. My grandfather had been in the Army Police, and my Uncle Gilson, a Colonel in the Army. The issue is that "calling" is a very serious matter. And my calling is martial arts. My father used to say that I should understand that Ving Tsun was a "hobby," and that it could cost me dearly not to realize this before getting too old. My grandfather avidly supported my  Kung Fu Journey, and my Uncle Gilson would always say, "Little Thiago, in life you are born, grow, and die. That is the same for everyone, what you do between each of them..." - He used to pause, smoke his cigarette, and continue - "...It's your life..."
Perhaps for this reason, when I stepped onto the stage of the auditorium at the Special Operations Instruction Center - CiOpEsp, I was remembering them. It was as if I wanted the day to end soon to tell them where martial arts had taken me and the honor I was having at that moment. Unfortunately, they have all passed away, but that lecture meant more to me than the photo above reveals. The Ving Tsun I learn has brought me there.

I was invited by Master Fabio Gomes [photo above] for a conversation with him and the COMMANDOS, a veteran of the Brazilian army, Mr. Marcelo Alves [PHOTO ABOVE], to discuss the project. Master Fabio Gomes is highly knowledgeable about the military environment and has been involved in Ving Tsun System work with various forces since 1999, achieving great success and bringing much pride to everyone in the Moy Yat Lineage. Regarding Mr. Marcelo, I had previously met him at an event organized by the Kung Fu Family of Master Ursula Lima, but it was only on this day that I had the opportunity to listen to him and converse with him for four hours. Mr. Marcelo is a very kind and serious person at the same time. In every story of his service or guidance on how the lecture could proceed, he made it clear not only his love for the COMMANDOS but also his pride in being a part of it. So, even though I had studied the topic in the days that followed, nothing compared to Mr. Marcelo's accounts, which deeply impacted me due to the spirit he conveyed in every word.

The moment of the lecture had arrived, and the first to take the stage was Master Fabio Gomes. His presentation displayed a high level of professionalism and meticulousness. It was very impressive for me to watch him. I recalled a brief conversation in Brasilia with Masters Felipe Soares and Tiago Quintela, during which we talked about the strange sensation we experience at certain moments while speaking in public about the Ving Tsun System, as if we were speaking better than our normal ability. Master Felipe had said it was "When the Ving Tsun System speaks trough you." For me, it was also like seeing Grand Master Leo Imamura speaking through Master Fabio Gomes. So, it was as if I were watching another lecture, one that spoke of the great Kung Fu that Master Fabio demonstrated, rather than the content itself.

The presence of the COMMANDOS, Mr. Marcelo Alves [photo above, left], at the lecture was very important. He could share his insights about having practiced the Ving Tsun System with the COMMANDOS during the late 1990s to early 2000s. His speech was very precise and assertive, and I was greatly impressed when, at the end, he exclaimed: "COMMANDOS!" - And immediately, in unison, the entire audience of the auditorium shouted the same cry as one voice.
I must also highlight all the kindness with which we were received at the venue upon our arrival. Even though they are highly trained professionals in extreme conditions, they showed great interest in the project from the outset, seeing it as a tool to further refine their work. Master Fabio Gomes mentioned the importance of the Ving Tsun System as a tool for "Human Development" as well.

Eu nunca desisti.

I could have had a financially more tranquil life, seemingly more stable and with more time for leisure. I could have acknowledged my 'calling' and set it aside, in some corner where, rummaging much older, I could find some excuse not to pursue it. Fortunately, thanks to all the patience of my Master and the opportunities he provided me, I was able to prepare myself to live this moment. For as we drove back with these two gentlemen from the photo above, we somehow knew about the great honour we had had that afternoon. An honour that is the kind that cannot be explained, only lived. You remember people, moments you lived, and people who remained along the way and moments you gave up, all for a single day. A day rich enough to be worth a whole lifetime. I never gave up.

The Peartrees's Blog has the honor of interviewing Grand Master Leo Imamura once again. And on this opportunity, we will talk about an unprecedented event that will take place in the capital of Brazil on the occasion of his birthday. It will be three days of great impact on the martial arts scene in Brazil, when Grand Masters from outside the country of the Moy Yat Lineage, as well as Brazilian Masters of international expression in Karate, Aikido, and Judo will be present.
With two days dedicated to practices that will encompass the entire Ving Tsun System in addition to specific Chi Sau studies, conducted by high-level authorities in this art, it will be a true milestone for those who are present. Furthermore, the Federal Senate auditorium will serve as the stage for the last day of the event, in which the Masters present will be able to give lectures that have the potential to reintroduce the important role of martial arts for society.
Follow below, as in a few lines, Grand Master Leo Imamura shares much of his understanding about the importance of a Si Fu's birthday, in the year and event in which he turns 61 years old.

Did you face any challenges in attending Patriarch Moy Yat's birthdays? Why was it important for you to attend?

ENGLISH -  The significance of  a Si Fu's birthday relates to the confirmation of the family bond, which is a pseudo-kinship. Therefore, presence is crucial. Patriarch Moy Yat not only attended but also organized the birthday celebration for Patriarch Ip Man. It is essential that you can express this connection.
I faced a challenge where often my life did not align with his birthday. I had a different arrangement with him, frequently returning to Brazil a week before his birthday. In addition, there was the difficulty of adjusting to financial matters, and your Si Taai 's birthday, which was one day after his own.

Do you believe there is a crucial moment in someone's Kung Fu journey that necessitates being present at such a celebration?

ENGLLISH - There are challenges, but it's all a matter of opportunity. For instance, the 'big numbers'... 40, 50, 60, 70 years old... These are significant years where one needs to be present, especially if you are considered an important member of the family.

What will be different about your birthday celebration this year?

ENGLISH - This year, what we aim to do is foster unity and support from individuals who can collaborate. Therefore, we will hold the event at the Federal Senate to broaden our message to other layers of society. We already have confirmed names, including friends from Judo, Karate, and Aikido.

How will the study of the Ving Tsun System with the Grand Masters take place?

ENGLISH - We will have a panel to discuss all aspects from Siu Nim Tau to Baat Jaam Do. Additionally, there will be individuals leading high-level Chi Sau practices.

5 - Mestres e praticantes afastados serão bem-vindos?
Are Masters and practitioners who are currently away welcome?

ENGLISH - All disciples are welcome. Although the relationship is often distant, it is very important to be present to reaffirm this relationship. Often, a way to do this when this is impossible is to send a video, for example. But when you send video two, three, four times... It starts to lose meaning. Video is a means to compensate for absence, not to be a permanent resource.

6- Haverá titulações na oportunidade?
Will there be certifications available during the occasion?

L.I. - Haverá muitas titulações e promoções.

ENGLISH- There will be numerous certifications and promotions.

7- Haverá convidados internacionais? O senhor já tem os nomes?
Will there be international guests? Do you already have the names?

ENGLISH - The very presence of GM William Moy, president of the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation, will help a lot with this international recognition. Mainly those who are doing work linked to the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation. Also present will be Grand Master Pete Pajil, Chairman of the Council of Grand Masters and Senior Master Wayne Belonoha, who is vice-president of the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation. In addition to Brazilians of international expression, such as Karate Sensei Roberto Santana, who will honor us with his presence. So we will have international level people to confirm as well.

8- Qual homenagem o senhor espera receber?
What tribute do you expect to receive?

ENGLISH -  The greatest tribute I can receive is the presence of people, and the worst tribute is their absence. I feel disheartened when disciples don't show up, especially when they are considered disciples and have the means to attend. It is saddening.
