Luk Dim Bun Gwan: The toughest day yet

The next day, we were fortunate to have the presence of Master Tiago Quintela [PHOTO]. Si Suk Quintela has the habit of addressing topics with precision, in a gentle manner and with a constant smile. This doesn't hide his high level of understanding of the System and the Program, similar to that of Master Gabriel, who tends to be more direct in his considerations. Essentially, Si Suk Quintela saved Sunday's meeting with his reflections and contributions. It was painful for me to be there in an almost exclusive moment with Grand Master Leo Imamura to discuss a topic that is not only important but also something I greatly appreciate, and not be able to propose something that would lead to a richer discussion. This time, even with his utmost effort, not even Grand Master Leo Imamura could, with his usual dedication, compensate for our lack of understanding. It was a tough day.
Porém, segui o exemplo do Si Baak Nataniel. No próximo ano, estarei muito melhor. E o trabalho para isso já começou.

MAAI SANG JONG! PEREIRA X QUINTELA X FELIPE!
I believed that Si Gung was gently guiding me over the past year, like an adult pulling a child on a tricycle with a cord. Later, it seemed to me that I could already ride a bike with training wheels, and I realized that the training wheels had been removed that afternoon - "So what if you poked him in the eye? In the 'Kung Fu Dimension,' that kind of behavior doesn't fit. Why are you apologizing?" - Si Gung asked me vehemently and with a very serious look as we took a break from the "Maai Sang Jong" we were doing. I was very out of breath. There was a certain dimness in Si Gung's vast living room; I felt my two Si Suk looking at me, but I could only stare down, trying to catch my breath. I wanted to put my hands on my waist, but I remembered not to do so after numerous reminders from Si Gung in recent months about proper martial conduct. Down a corridor, Si Suk Quintela's To Dai looked curiously from the kitchen door - "... It's just that I didn't do it on purpose..." - I replied. Si Gung looked seriously ahead and seemed to choose his words carefully before grabbing my attention again due to my response. You know, I think at that point, who we really are was very clear: deep down, I apologized because it was the first "Maai Sang Jong" Si Suk Quintela and I were doing, and I had just taken two punches from him. In my head, poking him in the eye with my finger might sound like retaliation, but that wasn't the case. At that moment, a certain desire to be a nice guy surfaced, and perhaps with the apologies, I was just trying to say - "Hey! I'm a nice guy, you know!"- Si Gung, of course, noticed.
I have seen Si Gung portrayed as someone, let's say, very serious. However, this is not the case. If you ask my disciple Daniel, he always talks about Si Gung laughing at some story he remembered, even though it was related to a correction. The thing is, we had spent the afternoon watching videos about martial arts, and you truly immerse yourself in a very profound process. - "'When we practice, we should not behave as we normally do,' wasn't that what he said in the video?" - Si Gung asked, laughing, seeming to have enjoyed this phrase said by a Kendo Sensei in a video suggested by Si Suk Felipe. The phrase wasn't exactly that, but somehow, it was a version he reminded us of during 'Maai Saang Jong'. - "Come on, let's do a little 'Maai Sang Jong'" - he said, abruptly interrupting the video session. We positioned ourselves facing each other; we should attack before the other set up the guard, 'how?', well, anything goes. After a few rounds, someone asked - "Si Fu, when does it end?" - I answered myself, based on what my Si Fu Julio Camacho had said countless times in my presence. It's a simple phrase - "In some moment it ends by itself." - I said. Si Gung seemed to accept the answer, and everyone else did too. We went back to doing it. Si Suk Quintela was very generous during the practice; you could see in him a genuine desire to help. When I sat out, I could admire him even more because, in a moment like that, what came to the surface was exactly what he always does: making himself available to be useful. Si Suk Felipe, on the other hand, reflected on what was not working. Without his glasses, his vision was affected, but he managed, even in such a tense situation, to stay open to the experience. As he has done in all other moments. So, you could see there were two people aligned, regardless of the context. But what about me?

UNFORGETTABLE DAYS AT MASTER QUINTELA'S HOUSE IN THE CAPITAL OF BRAZIL

During the mornings, we always headed to Si Gung's house. Si Suk Thiago, his To Dai, I, and Si Suk Felipe. Si Gung sometimes awaited us at the door. We were at his service throughout the day until we returned to Si Suk's house, where the conversation continued into the early hours of the morning. Si Gung has a close bond with Si Suk Thiago's To Dai, and all relationships within this arrangement are entirely healthy and calm, as I always believed they would be.
