KUNG FU FAMILY IN REBEKA'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

Bom, esta não é a Rebeka, sou eu no meu aniversário de um ano. Eu adoro olhar estas fotos hoje, e ver como as pessoas eram na época (Outubro de 1984).

Muita gente diz que festa de um ano é perda de tempo... A criança não entende nada, nem sabe o que está acontecendo, pra ela é só um monte de cores e coisas com potencial para se colocar na boca, babar e jogar no chão... de fato, uma criança de um ano nem tem amigos pra dar uma festa... Mas e daí? Essa é uma data especial, e deve sim ser comemorada!

Well, this is not Rebeka, this is me on my first birthday. I love to look at these pictures nowadays and notice how people were on that time (October 1984).

Many people says that a first year birthday party is nonsense... The kid understands nothing, doesn't know what's happening, there are only colors and things that may be put on mouth, droolled over and thrown on the floor... really, a one year old kid doesn't have friends to throw him a party... but who cares? This is a special day and must be celebrated!

Depois quando ganhei mais autonomia nas minhas decisões, quis uma festa dos Thundercats, mas essa é outra história!
E o que importa mesmo, é que festas de 1, 2 , 3 ...não importam quantos anos, são sim importantes! Lembranças nunca são demais, e a festa de 1 ano é o simbolo dos seus pais zelando pelas suas lembranças mesmo quando você ainda nem sabe o que é isso.

E a Família Kung Fu esteve presente no niver de 1 aninho da Rebeka, primeira filhinha da onipresente Si Sok Ursula!!!

Later, when I had more autonomy in my decisions I asked for a Thundercats party, but this is another tale!

What really matters is that celebrating one year old parties, two years old ones, three years old... it doesn't matter how many years, is really important! Memories are never enough, a one year old party is a simbol of your father's caring for your memories when you don't even know what that is.

And the Kung Fu Family was there on Rebeka's first birthday, the first child of the ubiquitous Si Sok Ursula!!!

PRELUDIO:

Bom, Si Sok Ursula e eu estavamos começando os trabalhos no Méier em 2007, quando ela descobriu que estava grávida, uma excelente notícia! Si Sok continuou com a mesma disposição, e sua agenda nas atividades que estava a frente na Moy Yat Ving Tsun continuaram!

Well, me and Si Sok Ursula were starting the work on Meier, in 2007, when she discovered that she was pregnant, a wonderful discovery! Si Sok kept on with the same readiness and her agenda on Moy Yat Ving Tsun activities didn't change!

Dia em que o Si gung conheceu a filhinha de sua Dai Ji Ursula Lima (Moy Lin Ma) no Mo Gun.

Na época, Si Fu estava fazendo inúmeras palestras, em uma delas, ao final, com Si Sok com 4 meses de gravidez ela pediu:

"Pereira, leva o carro que eu tô meio enjoada".

E lá estava eu pensando:

"Putz!Espero que cheguemos bem em casa!"

E já numa outra oportunidade, há poucas semanas da Rebeka nascer, ao sairmos de um almoço com a Familia KF, Si Sok foi me dar uma carona e comentou:

"Olha, já mal dá pra dirigir!(risos)"

Nesse momento eu gelei e pensei:

"Cara, meses se passaram e você não se preparou...."

Eu poderia ter estudado!

On that time, Si Fu was giving successive lectures, and by the end of one of those, Si Sok, with a 4 months pregnancy, asked:

"Pereira, take the whell today, because I'm not feeling so good."

And I thought:

"Darn, I hope we arrive well."

On another opportunity, a few weeks before Rebeka's birth, when we left after a Kung Fu Family lunch, Si Sok gave me a ride and commented:

"Look, I can barely drive (laughs)".

I instantly thought:

"Man, months have passed and you didn't prepare yourself"!

I could've studied!

Mas tudo correu bem, não precisei intervir em nenhuma emergência ..rs e Rebeka nasceu tranquila num Hospital ..rs (É claro seu maluco!rs)

E rapidamente, num piscar de olhos, ela completou um ano....

But everything went on smoothly, I didn't have to handle any emergency and Rebeka was born at a normal Hospital (and of course without crazies! laughs)

And on the blink of an eye, one year has passed...

Essa é a pequena aniversariante junto de seu avô.

This is our star next to her grandfather.

O local do aniversário, foi no próprio Condomínio da Si Sok, no salão de festas. E foi nesse mesmo Condomínio onde Si Fu começou sua carreira na MYVT ... no terraço dela.

Si Fu dava suas primeiras sessões para a Si sok em seu terraço quando ela tinha apenas 16 anos...
E agora estavamos lá comemorando o aniversário de sua primeira filha.

The party was held on Si Sok's condo, at the parties hall. It was at this same condo where Si Fu started his carreer on MYVT... on Si Sok's rooftop.

Si Fu gave her first Kung Fu sessions on that rooftop when she was 16...

And there were we, commemorating her daughter first birthday.

Hoje finalmente mais postagens de Si Fu em Fat San, e sem demora vamos direto a uma série de grandes eventos!
Today, finally more posts about Si Fu in Fat San and a series of great events!

Patriarca Ip Man, ficou muito famoso no mundo das artes marciais, após ir para Hong Kong já na casa dos 50 anos. Mas muita gente esquece que já em FatSan, ele teve um pequeno número de alunos. Todos senhores de idade hoje, preservam alguns conhecimentos de um Ip man mais jovem, de Jong enterrado(boneco de madeira), e não em suporte.
E Neste momento, observamos Si Baak Gung Pete e a comitiva chegando a casa de um dos mestres de Ving Tsun mais velhos, Sr. Lum Kai.
E se você reparar o número da casa do canto superior direito... não poderia ser outro.

Patriarch Ip Man got really famous in the martial arts world after moving to Hong Kong, around his fifties. Many people overlook the fact that when in FatSan, he had a small number of students. Nowadays, they're all elders still preserving knowledge about a young Ip Man and about the buried Jong (wooden dummy), not in wall support. At this moment, Si Baak Gung Pete and his companions enters Mr. Lum Kai home, one of the eldest kung fu master alive. Noticed the house number on the upper right side? Couldn't be different.

Na foto além de alguns praticantes, observamos Mestre Lum Kai, Mestre Pete, Mestre Kevin Martin, meu Mestre Julio Camacho e Mestre Micky Chan.

On this picture, besides some practitioners we can see Master Lum Kai, Master Pete, Master Kevin, my Master Julio Camacho and Master Micky Chan.

Em determinado momento, um dos Mestres presentes, perguntou a Lum Kai, quantos de seus companheiros haviam de fato chegado ao Baat Jaam Do. Sem poderar, o velho mestre respondeu: "Todos chegaram..."

Essa foi uma grande demonstração de habilidade deste senhor, pois, se tivesse falado que apenas ele e mais uns poucos tinham conseguido, estaria se colocando a frente de seus Si Hing. Ao mesmo tempo não poderia mentir dizendo que não o havia feito. Assim, sem mentir e apreciando todos os seus companheiros, Si Hing e Si Dai, Mestre Lum Kai disse: "Todos". Assim já se incluia no grupo.

At some moment, one of the present Masters asked Lum Kai about haw many of his comrades made to the Baat Jaam Do. Without flinching, the elder master answered: "All of them did..."

This was a great demonstration of hability from this master, because if he had answered that only him and a few had gotten there, he would be placing himself over his Si Hings. At the same time he couldn't lie about his Baat Jaam Do studies. So, without lying and showing appreciation for his Si Hings, Master Lum Kai said "All of them". This way, he was included.

O Grupo então se despediu para continuar sua jornada pelas ruas de FatSan depois de muita conversa e bate-papo com uma das "histórias vivas" da linhagem do Patriarca Ip Man.

Then the group took leave in order to continue their journey through FatSan's streets after many chatting for a long time with one of the "living history" members of Patriarch Ip Man lineage.

Se achar em FatSan muitas vezes pode parecer uma tarefa impossível. E na foto, Si Fu ao lado do gentil Sr. Michael Wong, procuram mais um endereço histórico.

Knowing where you are in FatSan can be an almost impossible task sometimes. In this picture, Si Fu, besides the kind Mr. Michael Wong, searches for another historical adress.

Sr. Michael Wong é um velho amigo de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat. Parte total da Família Kung Fu sem nunca ter treinado, tem muita energia para gastar,humildade e gentileza de sobra para ajudar.
Na foto, o grupo chega ao Museu da Ópera Cantonesa, Si Sok Fabio Gomes em destaque demonstra espanto com o local.

Mr. Michael Wong is a long time friend of Si Taai Gung Moy Yat. He is part of the Kung Fu Family, even though he never trained. He is always full of energy, modesty and kindness, always ready to help. In this picture, the group arrives at Cantonese Opera Museum. Si Sok Fabio Gomes reveals his astonishment.

O Local para um praticante de Ving Tsun, é simplesmente mágico, pois conta com maquetes dos Juncos Vermelhos e uma série de outras reliquias.

This place is simlpy magic for a Ving Tsun practitioner, as there are many miniatures of the Red Boats and other relics.

É mais contado que 3 gerações do Ving Tsun estavam ligadas aos Juncos Vermelhos: Wong Wah Bo, Leung Lan Gwai e Leung Yi Tai.
Porém, no caso de Leung Lan Gwai por exemplo, um revolucionário infiltrado. Este deveria ser o local onde passava a maior parte de seu tempo, e não nos barcos com a Ópera intinerante.

Unbelievable miniature of Cantonese Opera main branch. It is told that three Ving Tsun generations were connected to the Red Boats: Wong Wah Bo, Leung Lan Gwai and Leung Yi Tai. But on Leung Lan Gwai's case, a hidden revolutionist, this should have been the place were he spent most of his time, and not on the Opera Boats.

Mestre Kwok Fu, recebe Si Fu em sua residência, bem como o restante da comitiva.
Mais um dia marcante diante de outra "História viva" da linhagem Ip Man.

Master Kwok Fu receives Si Fu in his home, as well as the rest of the group. Another thrilling day before another "living history" member from Patriarch Ip Man's Lineage.
A esquerda, vemos Si Baak Gung Micky Chan. Um dos maiores nomes do Clã Moy Yat sem dúvida desde a primeira turma de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat nos E.U.A.

To the right we can see Si Baak Gung Micky Chan, undoubtly one of the greatests names on Moy Yat clans since Si Taai Gung Moy Yat's first class in the U.S.A.
Pelas roupas você já percebe que estamos nos anos 70 com um dos grupos que Si Taai Gung Moy Yat transmitiu o Ving Tsun.
Sentado, está Si Taai Gung ainda bem novo, e de pé, o segundo da esquerda para a direita(ao lado de Si Baak Gung Julian Cordero) está Si Baak Gung Micky Chan ainda bem jovem.

Residindo hoje em Hong Kong, Si Baak Gung que já esteve no Brasil, foi uma espécie de "Zico" nesta viagem, sendo um dos que usaram muito Kung Fu, sendo o "Meio-campo" para que encontros marcantes como esses acontecessem.

Judging by the clothes, you can notice that we're on the seventies, with one of the groups to whom which Si Taai Gung transmitted Ving Tsun. Sitting we can see an young Si Taai Gung. The second standing man from the left (besides Si Baak Gung Julian Cordero) is Si Baak Gung Micky Chan, really young too. Nowadays living in Hong Kong, Si Baak Gung, who already visited Brazil, was just like "Zico" on this trip. Being one of those who used a lot of kung fu, acting just like "mid-fielder" in order to guarantee that these awesome mettings would take place.

Depois deste encontro, o grupo foi as ruas de Fat San e conheceram este Si Fu, familiar de Si Taai Baak Gung Kwok Fu que hoje coordena as atividades desta Família Kung Fu.

After this meeting, the group went to the streets and met with this Si Fu, a relative of Si Taai Baak Gung Kwok Fu, that is responsible for coordinating this Kung Fu Family activities.

Neste pequeno local de frente para a rua, fica guardado o Jing Tong desta Família em Fat San.
Reparem que mesmo o local ainda que pareça desgastado, tem seu Jing Tong impecável. Sinal de bom Kung Fu segundo o pensamento clássico chinês.
Reparem também nos dois "Bonecos de madeira"(muk yan jong) posicionados nas laterais e enterrados no chão.

On this place, in front of the street, they keep this Family's Jing Tong in FatSan. Notice that even though the place may look plain, their Jing Tong is always spotless. A sign of good Kunf Fu according to chinese classical thinking. Notice that the two "wodden dummies" (muk yan jong) on each side buried in the ground.


Si Taai Po Helen Moy presta homenagem ao Patriarca mais uma vez.

A rigor, os bons costumes entre Famílias Kung Fu, falam também sobre a primeira coisa que você deve fazer ao chegar num Mo Gun que não o seu, é se dirigir ao Jing Tong e prestar respeito.
Não há maneira mais eficaz de prestar respeito a uma Família KF do que através de seus ancestrais representados pelo Jing Tong.

Si Taai Po Helen Moy pays homage to the Patriarch onde more. Strictly, good manners between Kung Fu families teaches that the first thing you must do when you enter other family's Mo Gun is going to their Jing Tong and pay your respects. There is not a more effecient way to show respect than by through their ancestor represented on the Jing Tong.

O Si Fu da Família faz a abertura de uma série de atividades entre a comitiva do Clã Moy Yat Sang e membros de sua Família e quem mais fosse chegando.

That Family's Si Fu opens the activities with the Moy Yat Sang Clan group, his own Kung Fu Family's members and whomever wanted to take part.

No Brasil, temos a Capoeira. Arte Marcial de origem Africana que se desenvolveu por aqui.
Geralmente você tem um grupo de Capoeira, que nos finais de semana organizam rodas em algum local: numa praça publica, na praia, ou mesmo na rua.
Mas é só formar uma roda, que aparecem curiosos e até praticantes de outro grupo, que entram na roda e participam do "jogo".

Here in Brazil we have Capoeira. A martial art developed here by the African slaves.
Usually the Capoeira groups get together on the weekends organizing activities which we call "roda" (circle or wheel) on public squares, on the beach or even on the streets.
As soon as the "roda" is formed many people and other practitioners get together in order to see and even take part in the "game".
E neste momento, durante esta grande oportunidade de observar Si Baak Gung Pete com o Gwan, a roda de Ving Tsun nesta localidade de Fat San ja ia se formando.

E quando "ele" apareceu, a roda aumentou cada vez mais...

In this moment, during this great opportunity of observing Si Baak Gung Pete with the Gwan, the Ving Tsun "roda" on FatSan was already being formed.

Then "he" appeared and the roda grew even more...
Quando a noite já havia caido, Si Sok Fabio Gomes mais uma vez deu uma demonstração de seu Kung Fu.

When the night was high, Si Sok Fabio Gomes showed his Kung Fu once more.
"Say hello to my little friend!"
Nesta roda de Chi Sau franca e livre, apesar do zelo entre os participantes, qualquer pessoa podia participar.

In this free "roda", as there were a lot of attention between those who took part, anyone could enter.

E não foram poucos que depois de uma rodada de Chi Sau queriam tirar uma foto com o estranho rapaz que apareceu do nada e sabia Ving Tsun.

And weren't a few that after a Chi Sau experience wanted to take a picture with that strange guy that appeared from nowhere and knew Ving Tsun.
