TAKING SIFU´S DAUGHTER HOME

As Peter Parker says in "Spiderman" (2002), this story is also about a girl. When I met my great ex-girlfriend and today dear friend Ana Carolina in 2003. I thought that if I trained myself to like children, I could have more chances with her, since she use to like children and got along very well with them. Thanks to that initial focus, I really liked them. And I think of all the children I've lived with until now, Julia, younger daughter of my Si Fu, has a special place in her heart.

I remember when Julia was born (PHOTO), she was spending the "New Year's Eve parties" at a small farm of the Ana Carolina Family, and by telephone,I heard the news from Si Fu. Curiously, when he learned that he was going to be a father for the second time, he had just come out of a challenging financial situation, and laughing with the To Dai one night at one of his former schools he said, "Great time to have another child!" (Laughter) - Although he has spoken in jest, Si Fu always says, "To have a child is always good."

From time to time Julia appeared in some event of the Kung Fu Family, but for some reason she did not like me very much when she was a little girl. And this was one day I made a point of registering, when she finally came, on my lap without crying for the first time during a Kung Fu Family lunch.
Eu e Jade ficamos rindo.

When Julia was a little girl, it was pretty funny. Si Fu had a lot of confidence in me in many ways. One of them was to allow and even suggest that his eldest daughter, dear Jade, practice under my responsibility in the Méier School. Those were the times of great adventures!
One time I went to take Jade to the door of the house where she used to live . Jade was out of the keys, and Julie came behind the wooden door and asked, "Jade?" I made a signal for Jade not to say that I was there, and I began to imitate the way Si Fu talked to her at that time: "Zúuu-liaaa! It's Papa Zú-lia!" - The funniest thing is that she believed it! Me and Jade laugh.

We always had an excuse to go to Si Fu's house, or he invited us anyway! (laughs) . In this photo, Julia observes my "Chi Sau" with Thiago Silva.
What was going on in her mind?

The first time Si Fu asked me to take Julia home, it was early in 2011 (photo). Laurien, daughter of Thiago Silva, and Jade (photo), were with us. I thought it would be a good idea to take a detour and spend Mcdonald's with everyone! It was an unforgettable morning!

Long before you create her first Instagram with the all-time best name "Alien Person" (Laughter). Julia and I lived many adventures in the year 2013 (photo), when Si Fu lived in Recreio neihborhood, and after the practices of "Baat Jaam Do" at his home,I had the mission to take her and Jade to her mom´s home safely.
With Julia already in phase 3, now a teenager, and with Si Fu in a mall in the West Zone of Rio.

Since we got a lot of traffic on the way to Julia and Jade's house, somehow I do not remember, I started a process of telling funny stories that I lived in different moments of my life. To my surprise Julia was laughing. Some she asked to repeat. Jade sometimes laughed more ashamed of the embarrassing situations I lived than anything else.

I think the fact that Si Fu has opened his life so special to me over the years has allowed me to relate so well to his family, especially his two daughters.

I remember when I wrote my "Baai Si Dip" in 2007 shortly before my discipleship, and in it, under the guidance of Si Suk Ursula, I should write, for example, about how much my care with Si Fu would extend. "For example, Pereira, would you take care of Jade or Julia?"-  She would have asked. I wrote that letter very supported in what I believed to be right. But so many years later, and with these simple but powerful moments lived not only with Julia, but also with Jade. I think that today is a natural process.

This is our most special photo of one of those nights of Friday, 2013: I had left Si Fu's house, we had an incredible journey, but we laughed so much on the trip that it would be difficult to think of a photo with a more sincere joy than this one. when we arrived at their mother´s house.
Well, I guess I can say I love these two.

A Kung Fu Village Discovered in China!

(People's Daily)

A Chinese village recently came to fame when it emerged that everyone who lives there is a martial arts expert.
The self-sustaining village, deep in the mountains of Tianzhu, central China, seems to have shunned the outside world.
Ganxi Dong village is home to the Dong people, one of the 56 recognised ethnic minorities in China.
Incredibly, everyone in the secluded village knows a different style of kung fu, reported People's Daily Online.

Self-sustaining village, deep in the lush-green mountains of Tianzhu, China, seems to have shunned the outside world with its tradition

According to reports, a few different types of kung fu are practised in the village.Everyone is well-practised in the art, which seems to be their only hobby aside from farming.  Their weapons range from just fists to sticks and pitchforks. Incredible images of the village has recently emerged, which has been widely shared on Chinese media. They show a few traditional-style buildings in a rural setting. In the picturesque landscape, village folk of all ages brandish sticks and swords while mid-practise.
They train by fighting each other as well as on their own and there are no exceptions. It's not clear why everyone practises martial arts or how long it's been the case.

Locals have two theories about their unusual situation. One claims that the area suffered regular heavy attacks from wild beasts that would kill their livestock and injure the villagers.
To try and combat the problem, six families had to pick a strong youth to create, develop and learn martial arts. They modeled their actions on the moves of dragons, snakes, tigers and leopards.
As each family trained in a different type of movement, different strains of kung fu were invented.
To continue the tradition, each family had to continue training under their strain of martial arts.
Another saying goes that when the families first moved to the area to set up a village, they were frequently pillaged by their neighbours.
In order to protect themselves, the villagers invited a two martial arts experts to teach them the art of combat.
The skills they learnt was then passed on to the rest of the villagers.
However, since it has been a tradition for a long time, no one can be certain of the real reason.

In 2009, Si Fu along with the Great Clan Moy Yat, visited the village Gu Lo, birthplace of the ancestor of our lineage Mr Leung Jaan (贊 先生). Place this he would have returned after his retirement leaving his pharmacy under the care of his student Chan Wah Sun (Jaau Chin Wah)

(Si Fu and Si Baak Natan in Gu Lo Village)

In this village in particular, Si Fu said in his visits to this place in 2009 and 2012 on the Kung Fu be the flagship of the activities of the sites. Si Fu talked about the fact that for them sounded very amazing to see foreigners with skin, hair and overall appearance. Very different from theirs, even practicing Kung Fu like them.
Si Fu also talked about a feeling of being in a place that stopped in time and the value they give to Kung Fu. So often during the practice was much courtesy among those making Chi Sau.

We do not live in villages, we are in a big city known worldwide. Like many practitioners around the world. But that does not mean that even if we do not wear Chinese clothes, or live in the countryside, like a seventies movie from Shaw Brothers, that we within this world, called immanent, there are crouching Tigers and hidden dragons.
