"O Homem da Gaita" do filme "Era uma vez no Oeste" é um clássico! Aquele salão maltrapilho, com caras sujos e vestindo trapos. Um ventilador de teto girando lentamente sem fazer vento. Alguns homens jogam baralho e tomam cerveja choca. De repente, algum bufão entra num rompante pela portinhola do salloon e começa a criar confusão. Lá no fundo, você escuta uma gaita....   Você sabia que o bicho ia pegar! Era o homem da gaita, vendo toda a cena...

"The Man with the Harmonica" from the movie "Once Upon a Time in the West" is a classic! That ragged lounge with dirty faces wearing rags. A ceiling fan slowly working without making any wind. Some men play cards and drink old beer . Suddenly, some madman comes and kick the saloon1s door and begins to create havoc. Deep down, you hear a harmonica .... You know what comes next! He was the man of the harmonica, watching the whole scene ...

Curiosamente, o ideograma "Mun"(門) lembra as portinholas dos Sallons do Velho-Oeste. Seu significado é "porta" ou "Portal". E no Kung Fu tem um significado mais especial ainda, pois tomamos a liberdade de traduzir como "Família"

Você pode resumir todo o filme Blade Runner(foto) em comida chinesa e chuva! Parece que o mundo virou uma grande Chinatown! Mas o Rio de Janeiro está longe disso! Achar um restaurante chinês bom por aqui, é tarefa quase impossível! Mais fácil achar um Replicante!

Porém a  Família Moy Lin Mah está muito bem localizada no bairro de Copacabana, onde conta com o restaurante chinês Chou Kou, o mais tradicional do Rio fundado em 1972. 

A data do dia 03 de Fevereiro serviu não só para celebrar a chegada do ano novo chinês , mas também  a 1a cerimônia Tradicional de Hoi Kuen desta Família Kung Fu e a Inauguração do Núcleo Copacabana.

Mestre Ursula Lima é um grande exemplo disso. Ela o vivenciou de diferentes maneira ao longo de diferentes épocas. Teve a oportunidade de estar com os maiores nomes do Clão Moy Yat durante sua carreira, incluindo o próprio Grão-Mestre em pessoa.

Si Gung say that two or more Kung Fu practitioners together,is not  "Kung Fu Life". Or only one who experienced this process, could pass it down.

Guilherme Farias e Luiz Ratts , ambos de outras Famílias Kung Fu, também tiveram papel fundamental nesse processo.

Você já se vestiu de forma equivocada para uma determinada ocasião ? Bom, eu já consegui essa façanha algumas vezes, mas nada que se compare a última Sexta-feira, quando vesti-me de branco para a celebração do ano novo chinês.
Você pode se perguntar primeira do “Por que” de fazer tal coisa. Bom, naquele dia eu estava muito mal de saúde, e na pressa ao sair de casa, acabei passando a mão pela camisa mais próxima, uma branca.

Have you ever dressed wrongly for a certain occasion? Well, I've got this feat a few times, but nothing that compares to last Friday, when I dressed in white for the celebration of Chinese New Year.

Segundo Si Fu, o branco representa a morte na cultura chinesa pelo fato de que quando uma pessoa está próxima da morte, ou seja, convalescendo. Seu aspecto vai ficando cada vez mais pálido. Por isso também, ele comentou sobre o oposto do branco ser o vermelho na cultura clássica chinesa. Já que o vermelho está ligado a cor do sangue que representa a vida.

Tendo dito isso, Si Fu aproveitou para citar que nos preparativos do funeral de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, a casa responsável pelo preparo fez um panfleto em cantonês e inglês falando sobre alguns procedimento a respeito do dia do funeral. Dentre eles, o pedido de evitar cores vibrantes na roupa, em especial o vermelho.

Sobre isso, Si Fu comentou que na verdade esse não é o melhor tema para se tomar como exemplo neste tipo de ocasião, pois no ano novo chinês o costume é que se evite dar más notícias. Costume esse que faz com que as pessoas desliguem seus telefones, para não correr o risco de atender uma chamada com alguma má notícia nos dias que compõem as festividades do ano novo chinês.

Eu nunca fui no réveillon em Copacabana. Este ano fui convidado mas na última hora minha saúde de passarinho não deixou e fiquei com meus pais. Na verdade, sempre evitei multidões, e passar o ano novo sozinho em casa quando era adolescente não parecia tão ruim assim. Meus pais gostavam de ir pra casa da minha tia em frente à praia, eu preferia sempre ficar jogando meu Playstation 1 sozinho no meu quarto. Mas pra falar que não curto ano novo, em 1994 eu estava no início da rua com meu amigo Herbert, esperando os lendários fogos do seu Araquem explodirem. Meu pai e a mãe do Herbert nos deixaram ir até lá com a condição de voltarmos antes de meia-noite, o que não fazia o menor sentido pensando agora. Quando deu 23:40 Herbert me chamou pra subir , eu disse que iria ficar. As 23:55 h avisto meu pai vindo lá de cima, lá do final da rua com algo na mão. Eu sabia que era a colher-de-pau que ele usava pra me bater. Eu ainda pensei em correr e implorar para não apanhar, mas os fogos do Seu Araquem eram irresistíveis. E lá estavam eles explodindo com ele no meio gritando feliz ano novo, as pessoas se abraçavam e aplaudiam o maior espetáculo de Rocha Miranda quando senti a mão pesada da justiça paterna me puxar pelo braço direito seguido de um “abre a mão!”... E lá estava eu apanhando de colher –de-pau em meio a gritos de feliz ano novo... rsrsrs 

I've never been in New Year's Eve in Copacabana beach . This year I was invited ,but at the last minute my health did notallowed me to leve home and stayed with my parents . In fact , I had always avoided crowds , and spend the New Year alone at home as a teenager did not seem so bad for me . My parents liked to go to my aunt's house on the beach front , I always preferred to be playing my Playstation 1 alone in my room . But a long time ago, in new year in 1994 to 1995, I was at the beginning of the my street with my friend Herbert , waiting for the legendary fireworks explode by Mr Araquém. The firework master of our hood . My father and the mother of Herbert left us to go there on the condition return before midnight , which made ​​no sense thinking now . 23:40h  Herbert decided to go back home and he called me to go with him , I said I would stay. So, 23:55 h I spot my father coming from the end of the street ,with something in hand . I knew it was the wodden-spoon that  he used to beat me up . Exploding! with Mr Araquem in the middle shouting Happy New Year , people hugged and applauded the biggest show of Rocha Miranda when I felt the heavy hand of paternal justice pull me by the right arm followed by an word: "Thiago, open hand boy! " .. . And there I was being beaten up with his wodden-spoon in the middle of shouts of Happy New Year ... lol

Ana Patricia é uma menina portuguesa(foto) que agora reside no Brasil. Se você já jogou WAR alguma vez, saiba que ela já viveu em mais países do que o tabuleiro possui... Acredito que ela não tenha vivido em Omnski nem em Dudinka...  Mas ainda assim é muita coisa!

Ela ingressou na Família Kung Fu junto de Joelson Junior, Leandro Carlos, Roger Luz , Glauco Gavioli e Waldyr Neto. 

Sua chegada até aquele momento, se deveu muito também ao belo trabalho desenvolvido com sua pessoa pelo Mestre Felipe Soares, que coordena o Ving Tsun experience no Rio de Janeiro.

Ana Patricia is a Portuguese girl (photo) who now resides in Brazil. If you've ever played RISK, know that she has lived in more countries than the board has ... I believe she just has nit lived in Omnski nor Dudinka ... But so is still a lot! 

She joined the Kung Fu Family along with Joelson Junior, Leandro Carlos, Roger Luz, Glauco Gavioli and Waldyr Neto.

Si Fu prosseguiu comentando coisas muito interessantes sobre a cultura chinesa como as danças do dragão e do leão presentes neste tipo de festejos e suas diferenças. Citou a importância dos fogos, mas não só daqueles como vemos no reveillon daqui, mas sim daqueles carckers que parecem pequenas dinamites e servem para espantar os maus espíritos.

Ao final, Patricia ofereceu uma saborosa carne assada que todos puderam saborear.

NEW LEGENDS OF KUNG FU MASTERS : BRUCE LEE & MEIER SCHOOL

Perdi a conta de quantas revistas comprei com Bruce Lee na capa. Li e reli sua história de vida diversas vezes e parecia nunca enjoar. Quando abria as páginas, apenas pelas fotos conseguia me inspirar a querer praticar uma arte marcial. Bruce Lee parecia saltar das fotos e ter um magnetismo de fazer você querer ser tão incrível quanto ele! Mas sabe o que é mais interessante? Quando nasci, Bruce Lee havia morrido 10 anos antes...  Quando tinha meus 13 anos e comecei a comprar pilhas de revistas de artes marciais , Bruce Lee já havia morrido há 23! E ainda assim, era capa de revista!

I lost count of how many magazines I  bought with Bruce Lee on the cover. I read and reread his story several  times and never seemed to get sick. When I opened the pages, only the photos could inspire me to want to practice a martial art. Bruce Lee seemed to leap from the photos and have a magnetism to make you want to be as awesome as him! But you know what else is interesting? When I was born, Bruce Lee had died 10 years before ... When I was 13 years old and started buying stacks of magazines of  martial arts, Bruce Lee was dead for 23! And still, he was a magazine cover!

Alguns fãs xiitas reclamaram que "É um ultraje ligar a figura de Bruce a uma bebida alcóolica"...  Meu amigo,  o comercial é maravilhoso...

Não é de onde ela me levou... Mas sim, de como a vivi. Nos melhores e piores momentos, eu tenho o sentimento que fiz tudo com o coração.
Eu não tirava o calçado para entrar no local de prática. Não precisamos fazer isso em nosso Clã. Mas qualquer problema , eu deixava fora da sala, e entrava com todas as forças que dispunha para estar com os irmãos Kung Fu naquele local...

E em que momento ele tomou essa decisão de se tornar uma lenda. Bom, quanto a mim, eu não sei onde posso chegar. Mas sempre penso nisso!
No comercial , Bruce diz : "Dragões não morrem" ...   . Sabe, você pode viver pra sempre na memória das pessoas.
Eu quero acreditar que eu vivo os meus dias num mundo que sonhei. Com pessoas que sonhei. Fazendo coisas que sonhei!

A primeira vez que Si Gung entrou pela porta do Núcleo Méier(foto), eu juro que não sei o que estava passando pela cabeça dele. Mas eu lembro do que pensei naquele milésimo de segundo como se fosse hoje:
Um ano antes daquele momento, num momento em que estava muito triste, Si Gung perguntou para mim se eu queria ter um Mo Gun. Era um fim de tarde no Núcleo Barra e ele olhava para o outro lado da Avenida das Américas enquanto falava comigo. Respondi que sim. Si Gung prosseguiu:
 "Como você imagina esse Mo Gun?"  . Eu disse que o imaginava no Méier. Um local pequeno mas com pessoas incriveis. Si Gung sorriu e passou seu braço esquerdo pelo meu ombro dizendo: "Eu acho que você pode. Você é um cara legal." - Ele sorriu e me abraçou...

Porque como dito acima: "Não podemos mudar as pessoas com os punhos, mas inspirando seus corações."

Muitos praticantes na pressa de ganhar reconhecimento, buscam a todo custo serem qualificados como Mestres. Outros tem tamanha ansiedade, que se auto-intitulam Mestres. Como se o fato de inserir a si mesmo numa Linha de sucessão se restringisse apenas ao fato de dominar o photoshop ou não para postar num site...
Não para estas pessoas, mas para as sérias , aquelas que perseveram e são reconhecidas legitimamente como Mestres, e após abrirem sua Família Kung Fu são chamadas de "Si Fu". Uma pergunta fica: "O que vem depois?"
Anne Cheng , é uma sinóloga do Collège de France que escreveu um fabuloso livro chamado "Histoire de la Penseé Chinoise" . E num parágrafo muito rico, ela nos brinda com um primeiro-passo para entender, não sobre o que vem depois da conclusão dos conteúdos do Sistema Ving Tsun, mas como nos preparamos para este momento:

No mesmo parágrafo ela traz uma idéia do que podemos alcançar com o Kung Fu no final das contas: "...Aprofundar significa deixar crescer cada vez mais fundo dentro de si, em sua existência, o sentido de uma lição(tirada da frequentação assídua dos Clássicos), de um ensinamento(prodigalizado por um Mestre), de uma experiência(Vivência Pessoal).... Testemunhos da palavra viva dos Mestres, elas não se destinam apenas ao intelecto, mas à pessoa toda; servem menos para raciocinar do que para ser frequentados, praticados e finalmente, vividos. Pois a finalidade última visada não é a gratificação intelectual do prazer das idéias, da aventura do pensamento...Não o raciocinar sempre melhor, mas o viver sempre melhor sua natureza de homem em harmonia com o mundo..."

Si Fu já havia falado sobre isso várias vezes, mas foi curioso ouvir Vladimir, um nordestino do interior do Ceará que cresceu com facas, falar sobre como escutou desde novo de seus irmãos e tios, a importância de não deixar ninguém tomar a sua faca numa briga. E se , a faca for parte do seu braço, como poderiam tomar o seu braço?

Por isso, a atuação do mobilizador, ou seja, de quem estiver estimulando a prática é bem complexa. Já que o Baat Jaam Do é muito mais uma expressão do praticante da sequência.Único conteúdo que aprende.
Por isso, podemos começar olhando a sequência da pessoa, a fim de que possamos nos sintonizar com a sua expressão do Baat Jaam Do naquele momento...

Quando se participa da Cerimônia de Admissão na Família Kung Fu, é importante entender o seu papel enquanto alguém que receberá um conhecimento preservado a muitos gerações. Mas que ao mesmo tempo,você carregará a responsabilidade de ser alguém que vai mantê-lo para as próximas gerações também, assim como fizeram por você.
Por isso, se por um momento , no nosso pior dia, no nosso pior momento, conseguirmos pensar no irmão kung fu mais novo, no praticante que conta com a gente. Poderemos experimentar uma nova força. Porque não será algo voltado para nós, mas pelos outros. E sem sombra de dúvidas, será esse zelo pelos irmãos kung fu que estão com você, e por outros que ainda nem começaram a praticar ainda, que fará você se tornar talvez não o grande lutador que você viu no filme, mas com certeza, alguém com um grande senso de humanidade.
E então você entenderá porque o chamam de "Si Hing". Porque era esperado que você estivesse se preparando bem antes daquele praticante que você nem conhece ainda, começar a praticar e contar com você...

MEETING ABOUT THE VING TSUN KNIVES W/ MASTER LEO(ENCONTRO SOBRE O NIVEL DAS FACAS COM MESTRE LEO IMAMURA)

Em Janeiro de 1990, eu costumava acordar toda manhã, e sem sair da cama, gritava a minha mãe. Ela ligava nossa única TV , ainda com seletor, no canal 6 da Manchete. Porque durante toda a manhã passava o meu programa favorito na época: "Cometa Alegria"(foto).
Enquanto tomava o café-com-leite e comia as torradas que minha mãe fazia( e que gosto até hoje), assistia clássicos como "Jaspion", "Changeman", "Jiraya" e os lançamentos(na época!!!) como : "Jiban" e o meu preferido: "Lion Man"!!! Um samurai que tinha um foguete nas costas e podia fazer uso dele para se "Transmutar"(sim! eles usavam essa palavra!) num "Leão-Samurai"(oookkk) e lutava contra o mal com a sua Katana e capa azul!

In January 1990, I used to wake up every morning, and without getting out of bed, screamed my mother. She used to turn our only TVon , an old one with a dial, and put on channel 6. Because throughout the morning I used to love watch my favorite TV show at the time: "Comet Happiness" (photo). 
While I was having coffee with milk and eating the toast that my mother did , watching japanese Tv series very popular in Brazil like "Jaspion", "Changeman", "Jiraiya" and releases (at the time)such as "Jiban" and my favorite: "Lion Man"! A samurai who had a rocket in the back and could make use of it to "transmute" (yes! they used that word!) In "Lion Man" (oookkk) and fought against evil with his Katana and blue cape!

Vinte e quatro anos depois, cá estou eu(foto) usando lâminas para praticar uma arte, não japonesa, mas chinesa. E não me tornei "Uma dádiva dos ninjas" igual ao Lion Man como tanto queria naquele verão, mas  um descendente de décima segunda geração da linhagem Moy Yat do Clã Ving Tsun.
Tenho que dizer que tem sido difícil...  Facas não são brinquedos, e não dá pra arriscar mais nessa altura do campeonato..  A distância muda, a abordagem com relação ao adversário muda, e seu entendimento precisa mudar pra acompanhar..
Como sou bem lento, acabo por me frustrar. Por muitas vezes, o Do mexe tanto comigo, que dá vontade de jogar os dois pro lado e nunca mais pegar...  Mas são como dois ímãs. Eles vão te atrair de novo pra você se frustrar mais uma vez..E se você insistir em não tocá-los, eles vão até os seus pensamentos, e questionar o quanto você poderia estar evoluindo... E lá está você de novo! Com as duas facas na mão, tentando entender algo que mata e corta todas as suas fantasias... E acaba ensinando você a cortar tudo que não serve mais.Tanto no Ving Tsun quanto em sua vida. Isso pode acabar tornando você uma pessoa muito fria, porque o Do , segundo o que Si Gung nos contou nesse ultimo final de semana, é uma arma que possui "Sa Hei", o que os chineses chamam de "energia assassina". O Do, é uma arma de assassinos. Por isso ele disse que é sempre de bom tom, entregar um Hung Bao(envelope vermelho) a quem praticou com você. Porque aquela pessoa ficou com sua arma apontada pra ela o tempo todo. Essa pessoa pode ser até seu Si Fu. Por isso o Hung Bao pode cortar essa energia..
E para você que pratica sozinho as vezes, cuidado! Pode ser bom fazer um Siu Nim Tau ao final...

Twenty-four years later , here I am ( photo ) using blades to practice an art, not Japanese , but a Chinese art . With two knives in hand , trying to understand something that kills and cuts all your fantasies ... And just teaching you to cut everything that is no more important for you anymore  not just for Ving Tsun as for your life . 
This can end up making you a very cold person , because the Do, according to what Si Gung told us this last weekend , is a weapon that has "  Sa Hei " , which the Chinese call "killing energy " . The Do, is a weapon of assassins . So he said that is always good , delivering a Hung Bao ( red envelope ) to whom practiced with you. Because that person got your weapon pointed at her all the time . This person can be up your own Si Fu . 
So Hung Bao can cut this energy ..
And for you who practices by yourself ! It may be good do Siu Nim Tau in the end...

ENCONTRO SOBRE BAAT JAAM DO COM SI GUNG: PARTE 1

Era um lindo Domingo de sol no Rio de Janeiro, quando peguei meu querido irmão Kung Fu Vladimir Anchieta e juntos fomos ao encontro de Si Fu e Si Gung e de todos os demais(foto) para um delicioso café da manhã no bairro do Recreio, Zona Oeste de nossa cidade.

It was a beautiful sunny Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, when I took my dear Kung Fu brother Vladimir Anchieta and together we went to meet Si Fu and Si Gung and all the others (photo) for a delicious breakfast in the  neighborhood of Recreio in the West of our city.

Fomos para a casa de Si Fu no mesmo bairro, onde a primeira parte do Encontro aconteceu. Si Gung deixou que nós colocássemos questões e os demais poderiam atuar em cima delas para a conversa fluir.

We went to the house of Si Fu in the same neighborhood, where the first part of the meeting took place. Si Gung left we put questions and the others could act on them for the flowing of the talk.

Tivemos a felicidade de ver Si Gung comentar pormenores desta fascinante arma. Ele nos contou, que o próprio formato da faca é um dispositivo em si. A faca possui oito partes distintas, e o seu entendimento é de extrema importância para se adentrar no que é chamado de "Dimensão Kung Fu" , um termo apresentado pelo Professor de Filosofia na Grand Valley State University Pei Min Ni , e aproveitar todo o potencial de seu formato.
Meu autor preferido , François Julien, tem em um parágrafo de seu livro "Traité de l'Efficaité, palavras que podem explicar esse conceito nesse caso talvez: " ...O efecto é o efeito habitado de vazio e levado a se manifestar, é o efeito que se opera , que se prossegue, e por isso jamais completamente manifestado, como que em falta mas inesgotável..."

Bom, acho que esse não foi meu caso...  Ainda assim vivi muitos momentos tensos que Si Fu teve que contornar durante minha prática, não por questioná-lo em seu conhecimento, mas por não conseguir entender como funciona isso tudo! Si Gung inclusive comentou, que a sequência do Baat Jaam Do gera desconfiança, e nos parece não ter um comprometimento pedagógico...  E cara! Eu vivo isso na pele!
Por isso, também acredito que o que vai sustentar você não só no Baat Jaam Do mas em qualquer momento difícil no Sistema, será a relação que você construiu com seu Si Fu...

Mas eu não quero assustar você que está lendo! Nem com minhas questões nem com essa "Maldição"...
Lembre-se sempre que você pode se apoiar numa forte relação com seu Si Fu. Ela vai lhe assegurar viver incríveis momentos, mesmo quando tudo parecer desmoronar. Tanto na sua prática quanto na sua vida... E só pra garantir, entregue um Hung Bao ao final do Momento de prática do Baat Jaam Do...  Pois como dizem no Brasil: "Melhor não dar sorte pro azar"...
