Si Suk Ursula´s Kung Fu Family Tenth Year

Quando Si Suk Ursula recebeu a Titulação de Mestre pela Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence. Si Gung disse algo muito importante em seu discurso: Teria dito ele, que ela já iniciava essa nova fase de sua trajetória, com um desafio que nenhum outro dos Mestres até então havia tido: O de que além de Mestra, era mãe e esposa.Si Gung pontuou a limitada percepção social que diferencia a maneira que encaramos a dedicação de um homem ao seu trabalho, em comparação a de uma mulher.  E esse foi um fator que me voltou à cabeça anos depois, quando numa Cerimônia da Família Moy Fei Lap, Si Suk Ursula saiu literalmente correndo(ou andando rápido) ao final da mesma. Pois na sequência teria alguma apresentação da Rebeka em sua escolinha. Veja: Era um Sábado à tarde, e mesmo depois de uma longa e estenuante semana desempenhando as várias funções acumulativas que sua carreira exige, compareceu àquela Cerimônia tanto para prestigiar seu irmão Kung Fu quanto para fazer sua Família presente. E isso, claro, se deu em tantos outros eventos, viagens e noites dormindo no Mo Gun.
A Si Suk Ursula vive com sua família na Zona Oeste da cidade do Rio de Janeiro e seus Mo Gun geralmente localizam-se ao longo da Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, que fica na Zona Sul. Para quem não conhece a cidade, é uma distância bem considerável, mesmo de carro. Soma-se à isso, a dificuldade em encontrar uma vaga para estacionar quando se chega em Copacabana- "Eu conhecia um rapaz aqui que guardava minha vaga, mas ele não está aqui hoje". - Disse ela a mim enquanto procurava uma vaga para seu carro. Em outra ocasião, acompanhei ela até onde seu carro estava por uma rua um tanto quanto deserta num horário não tão bom para se perambular pelas redondezas. Essas são pequenas passagens, que mostram o desafio de um Si Fu, para poder prover o melhor aos seus To Dai. Momentos como esses são tão singelos, que muitas vezes passam despercebidos pela maioria. Então você vê aquele aluno mandar uma mensagem descompromissada em cima da hora dizendo: "Si Fu, hoje não poderei ir".
Si Suk Ursula começou o trabalho na região da Zona Sul em Ipanema num espaço com outras atividades. Certo dia, a dona decidiu se desfazer do local, e a partir dali começou uma contagem regressiva: Si Suk Ursula teve pouco tempo para decidir o que fazer e para onde ir.- "Será que os alunos acompanhariam?" - Si Suk Ursula aceitou o desafio e alugou uma sala muito bem dividida em Copacabana. Seus primeiros alunos e alguns outros da própria Família Moy Jo Lei Ou, ajudaram na montagem daquele local. Eu adorava frequentar aquele Mo Gun. Achava ele muito aprazível e estar com a Si Suk Ursula sempre era muito bom. Por isso, quando um dia cheguei lá e a acompanhei com alguns de seus alunos, até um imóvel no mesmo bairro. Descobri que ela pretendia se mudar e não entendi. Si Suk Ursula parecia ter desenvolvido àquela altura, uma habilidade pontuada por Si Gung em alguma de suas visitas: A de que um líder deve sentir as coisas no ar.
Quando a Família Moy Lin Mah mudou-se para o novo endereço, a Rebeka já estava mais velha, e vez ou outra ela aparecia num evento. Fossem nesses momentos ou em outros em que pude presenciar a relação das duas. Sempre vi uma filha muito apaixonada pela mãe. Às vezes morro de rir quando vejo alguma brincadeira em vídeo das duas  em alguma rede social da Rebeka. A Si Suk Ursula do círculo marcial tem um olhar muito penetrante, e então nesses vídeos o olhar ainda está lá, mas ela está brincando. São cenas engraçadas de mãe e filha.
Em outra oportunidade, descia de carro com ela uma rua de Copacabana em direção ao seu Mo Gun. Comentei com ela a sorte que ela tinha de ter encontrado um companheiro que entendia tão bem sua profissão. Ela respondeu rindo: "Sorte nada! Teve muito trabalho dos dois." - E esse trabalho dela e de seu esposo Ricardo Lopes, criou uma parceria muito especial na condução da Família Moy Lin Mah. Digo isso, porque os alunos são super apaixonados pelo Ricardo e se entusiasmam a cada vez que ele está com eles.
Meu Si Fu diz que o dia da celebração "não vale". O que "vale" é o que acontece entre esse dia e o do próximo ano. E pensando em tudo que ocorreu nos bastidores de cada desafio vivido pela jovem Mestra(a primeira da América Latina desta arte marcial). Acredito que ela tenha sido muito bem sucedida. Afinal, ela vem conseguindo de forma brilhante honrar o desafio pontuado por seu Si Fu no dia de sua Titulação. Pois não se passa um "Dia dos Namorados" ou de "Aniversário de Casamento", que seu esposo não lhe faça uma declaração pública como se estivessem ainda iniciando seu namoro em 1995. Como também, apenas pelo tom de voz e sorriso de sua filha ao se dirigir à ela, podemos ver quanto amor existe ali. E isso, com todos os aparentemente infindáveis compromissos que envolveram e envolvem sua carreira nesses dez anos.
Parabéns para a minha Si Suk Ursula, por sua coragem diária, em seguir transformando vidas. Inclusive a minha.

When Si Suk Ursula received her Master's Degree from Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence . Si Gung said something very important in his speech: He would have said, that she has already started this new phase of her trajectory, with a challenge that no other Master  has yet had: Besides being a Master, she was also a mother and wife. Si Gung pointed out a limited social perception that differentiates a way of looking at a man's dedication to his work, compared to a woman. And that was a factor that left me thinking years later, when during some Moy Fei Lap Family's Ceremony, Si Suk Ursula literally ran (or walked fast) in the end of it. Because right after that, she had to attend some presentation of her daughter Rebeka in her school. See: It was a Saturday afternoon, and even after a long and challeging week, performing as several cumulative functions that her career requires, she attended that Ceremony to prestigious her  Kung Fu brother and to make her family present. And that, of course, happened in so many other events, trips and nights spent at her Mo Gun.
Si Suk Ursula lives with her family in the West Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro and her Mo Gun(Schools) are usually located along  Nossa Senhora de Copacabana Avenue, which is in the South Zone. For those who do not know the city, it is quite distant,even by car. Beside that, there is the difficulty of finding a parking space when arriving in Copacabana- "I know a boy here who keeps a parking space for me, but he is not here today". - She said to me while looking for a parking lot for her car. On another occasion, I accompanied her to where her car was on the street  at a time that is not so good for wandering around. These are small passages, which show the challenges of a Si Fu, to prove the best to his/her To Dai. Moments like these are so simple, that they often go unnoticed by the majority. So you see that student send an uncompromised message at the last minute saying: "Si Fu, today I can't go".
Si Suk Ursula started working in the South Zone region in Ipanema in a space with other activities. One day, when the owner would sell the place, and from there a countdown begins: Si Suk Ursula had little time to decide what to do and where to go.- "Would the students follow her?" - Si Suk Ursula accepted the challenge and found a very well divided room in Copacabana. Her first students and some others from the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family helped to set up this place. I loved attending that Mo Gun. I thought it was a very pleasant place and being with Si Suk Ursula was always very good. So when one day I arrived and accompanied her and some of her students, to a property in the same neighborhood. I found out that she wants to move and I didn't understand. Si Suk Ursula seems to have developed at that moment, a skill punctuated by Si Gung on some of his visits: A leader that should feel the things in the air.
When the Moy Lin Mah Family moved to the new address, Rebeka was already older, and used to show up at some events. Whether at these times or at other times when I could see the relationship of Si Suk and her daughter. I have always seen a daughter very much in love with her mother. Sometimes I die laughing when I see a video of the two on some Rebeka´s social network playing around. Si Suk Ursula from the martial arts circles has a  very penetrating eyes, and so in the videos her strong eyes are still there, but she is playing with her daughter. So there are some funny scenes of mother and daughter out there.
On another occasion, I was with Si Suk in her car  driving down some Copacabana street towards her Mo Gun. I told her how lucky she was to find a partner who understood her profession so well. She replied laughing, "There was nothing about lucky! There was a lot of work for both of us." - Her husband Ricardo Lopes, created a very special partnership in the management of the Moy Lin Mah Family with her. I say that, because the students are super in love with Ricardo and get excited every time they are with him.
My Si Fu says that the celebration day "Does not count". What "counts" is what happens between that day and the next year. And thinking about everything that happened behind the scenes of each challenge experienced by the young Master (the first in Latin America in this martial art). I believe it has been very successful. After all, she has brilliantly managed to honor the challenge punctuated by her Si Fu on the day of her Master´s Degree Qualification. Because there is no "Valentine's Day" or "Wedding Anniversary", that her husband does not make a public statement to her as if they were still starting their relationship in 1995. As well, just by the tone of her daughter's voice and smile by addressing it to her, we can see how much love there is. And that, with all the seemingly endless commitments that have involved and involve her career in these ten years.

Congratulations to my Si Suk Ursula, for her daily courage, in continuing to transform lives. Including mine.

NEW MOY YAT VING TSUN SCHOOL IN RIO!!! [Novo Núcleo da Moy Yat Ving Tsun no Rio!!!]

Uma vez ouvi de meu Si Fu, que para algo ser "histórico" é preciso antes que aconteça. Eu nunca havia pensado nisso, mas tempos depois, comecei a perceber que no mundo do Kung Fu (que chamamos "Mo Lam"). Alguns eventos já são "históricos" antes mesmo que aconteçam.
Outro ponto importante , é que alguns praticantes parecem já carregar consigo um determinado fardo.  "Fardo" , é uma palavra que tem em uma de suas origens a palavra em árabe "fard" , que significa "O peso que um camelo pode suportar." - E isso também acontece com alguns praticantes de Kung Fu, mas só porque eles são capazes de suportar esse fardo.

I once heard from my Si Fu, that for something to be "historical" it takes after it happens. I had never thought of that, but some time later, I began to realize that in the world of Kung Fu (we call "Mo Lam"). Some events already are "historical" even before they happen.
Another important point is that some practitioners seem already carry with them a certain burden. "Burden" is a word that has its origins in one of the Arabic words "fard", which means "The weight that a camel can bear." - And this also happens with some practitioners of Kung Fu, but only because they are able to bear this burden.

Em Copacabana, já está funcionando uma nova escola de Ving Tsun (que chamamos tradicionalmente de "Mo Gun") .Em termos institucionais , trata-se de um Núcleo Certificado pela Moy Yat Ving Tsun.
 O local é muito agradável, com variadas salas com espaço suficiente para diferentes tipos de atividades ou vivências . E me impressionou saber do próprio colíder da Família Moy Lin Mah, Ricardo Lopes, que muitas destas paredes foram pensadas e levantadas por eles mesmos. Digo isso, porque quando entramos e vemos tudo tão organizado, não é possível perceber isso num primeiro momento.

In Copacabana, is already running a new school of Ving Tsun (traditionally called "Mo Gun") .In institutional terms, this is a Certificate School by Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence.
  The place is very nice, with various rooms with enough space for different types of activities or experiences. And impressed me to know from the co-leader of the Family Moy Lin Mah, Ricardo Lopes, that many of these walls were conceived and raised by themselves. I say this because when we enter and see everything so organized, you can not realize it at first.

Naquela manhã , estava acompanhando Si Fu, e junto de mim , estava meu irmão Kung Fu Rodrigo Moreira. Aquela manhã havia começado um pouco mais cedo para nós, com um café-da-manhã próximo a casa de Si Fu. Conversamos sobre a vestimenta adequada para ocasiões como essa, e depois, ele me colocou numa espécie de sinuca: Sabendo que não gosto de me atrasar e tão pouco correr muito dirigindo. Si Fu ficou conosco no café até um tempo limite e me disse algo como: "Thiago, agora já não é só uma manhã tranquila para você. Eu sei que você não gosta de se atrasar, mas se você dirigir como você sempre dirige vamos acabar nos atrasando. Mas eu sei também que você não gosta de correr, então agora você tem que escolher o que você quer fazer..."

That morning I was accompanying Si Fu, and with us  was my Kung Fu brother Rodrigo Moreira. That morning had started a little earlier for us, with a breakfast in the morning near Si Fu's house. We talked about the proper dress for occasions like this, and then Si Fu put me in a kind of check-mate: Knowing that I do not like to be late and so little  driving fast. Si Fu stayed with us in the cafe until a limit time and told me something like. "Thiago, now is no longer just a quiet morning to you. I know you do not like to be late, but if you drive like you always drive you will end delaying us. But I also know you do not like to drive fast, so now you have to choose what you want to do ... "

Chegamos na hora e vivos. Esse é o final da história! Na foto acima ao meu lado, dois dos meus To Dai: Jaqueline e Thiago. Porém, vale destacar a presença de Si Baak Paulo Freitas, discípulo mais antigo do Rio ao meu lado e ao fundo de blusa azul, Si Suk Fabio Gomes. Que por muito tempo foi responsável pelo trabalho com Ving Tsun em forças especiais.

We arrived on time and alive. This is the end of the story! In the photo above with me, two of my To Dai: Jaqueline and Thiago. However, it is worth to say about the presence of Si Baak Paulo Freitas, senior disciple of Rio next to me and in the background wearing blue blouse, Si Suk Fabio Gomes. That has long been responsible for working with Ving Tsun in special forces.

Aquela Cerimônia servia também para apresentar o impecável novo endereço da Família Moy Lin Mah a todo o Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang do Rio. Helena Carneiro, discípula de Si Suk Ursula, começou ao microfone falando um pouco da história da Família Moy Lin Mah até ali, observada pelos seus líderes. Atrás destes, a parede levantada por Ricardo e seus To Dai que com certeza servirá de modelo para futuros Mo Gun.
Posso dizer que algo tinha mudado nesses três(Em André Villarreal também). Não sei o que houve com todos eles, mas seus olhares, gestos e atitude tinham algo de diferente. Talvez, toda essa vivência no preparo do novo local, tenha lhes proporcionado isso.

That ceremony also served to present the impeccable new address of the Family Moy Lin Mah throughout the Great Moy Yat Sang Clan of Rio. Helena Carneiro, disciple of Si Suk Ursula, began the microphone talking about the history of the Family Moy Lin Mah up there observed by their leaders. Behind they, the wall built by Ricardo and his  To Dai that surely serve as a model for future Mo Gun.
I can say that something had changed in these three (in Andrew Villarreal too). I do not know what happened to them all, but their looks, gestures and attitude had something different. Perhaps all this experience in preparing the new location has provided them that.

O novo endereço do Núcleo Copacabana, fica num prédio comercial e residencial. Isso permite com que o local tenha cozinha e banheiro, "features" bem diferente de uma sala meramente comercial. E a ambiência familiar , naturalmente se espalha pelo local. Por falar em residência, Si Suk Ursula ofertou ao meu Si Fu(foto) , a chave do local em agradecimento por ter contribuído com seu desenvolvimento ao longo de sua história. Apesar de toda essa ambiência inovadora , quando se entra no escritório de Si Suk Ursula e observamos seus inúmeros certificados na parede. Uma certa nostalgia toma conta dos mais antigos, pois nos vem a memória o escritório de Si Fu em Jacarepaguá com também inúmeros certificados.

The new address of Copacabana School, is a commercial and residential building. This allows that the place has kitchen and bathroom, "features" quite different from a purely commercial room. And the family environment, naturally spreads throughout the site. Speaking of residence, Si Suk Ursula has offered to my Si Fu (photo), a key of the front door, in gratitude for having contributed to her development throughout her history. Despite all this innovative ambience when you enters the Si Suk Ursula's office and observe her numerous certificates on the wall. A certain nostalgia takes care of the oldest, because we have our memory of the Si Fu's office in Jacarepagua with also numerous certificates.

Si Fu não estava sozinho. Junto dele como testemunhas honoráveis da Cerimônia que ocorreria naquela manhã , estavam Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz, Líder da Família Moy Ke Lo Si, e Si Suk Diego. Ambos Mestres Qualificados da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence.

Si Fu was not alone. Beside him as honorable witnesses of the ceremony would take place that morning, were Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz,  Leader of Family Moy Ke Lo Si and Si Suk Diego. Both Qualified Masters of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence.

Aqui vemos o momento em que Si Suk Ursula se levanta para simbolicamente tornar público o acesso ao Sistema Ving Tsun dos três novos membros, através da demonstração da primeira parte do "Siu Nim Tau". Ao final ela perguntou se estava claro para eles.
Esse é um momento bem importante: Quando nosso Si Fu é jovem como a Si Suk, não damos muito valor a pequenos momentos como este (Até mesmo, porque os vemos como "pequenos"). Quando o Si Fu envelhece, e certas demonstrações se tornam menos frequentes, percebemos que perdemos oportunidades de registros.

Si Suk Ursula (foto) e sua Família, carregam este atributo especial de que cada marco como este é histórico antes mesmo de acontecer. Não só pela história dela, mas pelo fato de que em nossa Linhagem Direta, desde Yim Ving Tsun, Si Suk é a primeira mulher a se tornar "Si Fu"... E isso, é muita coisa! Essa mesma característica, faz com que todos os olhos estejam voltados para ela. Como um dos novos membros falou na própria Cerimônia naquela manhã , que o fato dela ser mulher havia lhe chamado a atenção quando procurou o Ving Tsun num primeiro momento.
Podemos dizer que ser a única Si Fu do sexo feminino em 300 anos e a única mulher Mestre Qualificada pela International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation é um fardo. Mas como a origem desta palavra em árabe nos mostra, é que ela é mais do que capaz de carregá-lo. E aquela manhã, aquele novo Mo Gun... É mais uma prova disso...

Si Suk Ursula (photo) and her family, carry this special attribute that each milestone as this is history before it even happens. Not only for her story, but the fact that in our direct lineage from Yim Ving Tsun, Si Suk is the first woman to become "Si Fu" ... And that is a lot! This same feature makes all eyes are focused on her. As one of the new members spoke at the ceremony itself that morning, that the fact of her being a woman had his attention when he sought the Ving Tsun at first.
