(BRUCE LEE SPECIAL PART 8)ESPECIAL BRUCE LEE PARTE 8

During the graduating class with Si Gung at Gama Filho University in Sao Paulo City,Brazil. He showed some scenes from classic movies, between them: ENTER THE DRAGON. Si Gung showed this scene below:

Na cena acima, Bruce diz: (just portuguese translation of the video)

-Me chute!
O rapaz chuta e Bruce pergunta:
-O que foi isso? Uma exibição? Nós precisamos de conteúdo emocional.
O rapaz chuta novamente:
-Eu disse "conteúdo emocional", não "raiva"! - repreende Bruce.- Agora tente de novo! COMIGO!

When Bruce says "kick, with me" it is very interesting, 'cause is a different idea to "kick with someone" e not "kick someone"...

Take a look below:

In some conversations with Si Gung, he talked a lot about the "Kung Fu dimension." That way of talking about undergrowth, where the practice is between two people, generates a third thing.A experience for both. And not only the practice by itself.

Therefore, the above scene, when Bruce says "There is no opponent," is quite sophisticated for the time.  Through contact with others, we realize that any action of ours, is generated by the opportunity that another person gives us. There is no "Me" as Bruce says in the movie.

"The opportunity to win is with the opponent, the chance of defeat is in ourselves" - Sun Tzu.

Bruce also talks about "...A combat must be like playing. But  playing serious. The one must not stay tense, but ready..."

Si Taai Gung Moy Yat always talked about "Play Chi Sau" and not to "Fight Chi Sau".Above, we see Si Baak Gung Micky wright this concept during his visit to Brazil.

But yesterday, back to the past, we used the DVD player given by Ailton Jordao(12G VT) to the MYVT Meier Mo Gun to watch "Enter the Dragon" parts , but with Ving Tsun eyes..

It was very interesting 'cause Leo Descoffier(12G VT) and Luciano Freitas(12G VT) lived during Bruce Lee fever. And now they could watch the same movie with different points of view and more kung fu. Also, Daniel de Caires(12G VT) watched by the first time.

We can talk morw about this movie very soon. By now, take  a look on the other posts:

MOY YAT VING TSUN IN RIO (A SEMANA DA MOY YAT VING TSUN NO RIO)

In another very special week at the Mo Gun of Kung Fu Family Moy Jo Lei ou in Meier neighborhood, a group practice occurred with the participation of practitioners of different ages, different histories and goals.

Lucas(12G VT) getting out on the morning rush to school forgot his uniform(lol), Ailton Jordão(12G VT) practiced with him. Although a few years old are between them, the Kung Fu experience of Lucas compensates a lot this difference, providing Ailton, as well as himself, rich scenarios to work the concepts of Ving Tsun.

Pedro Freire(12G VT), is going trough a several practices using the legs. During practice this week he steps to the other side, and helped his Si Je ("Kung Fu older sister) Jade(12G VT), to revisit this kind of dynamic.

Ailton Jordão(12G VT) gave this very special gift: A book called "The Power of the Tiger" ,wich talks about chinese tales very interesting.

In this last photo, we see Ailton, and also, we see the young ones trying to smile..lol
They are very kind and smile all the time, but I dont know why, in pics they stands serious!

Enquanto isso na Barra da Tijuca...
While that in MYVT Barra Branch...

While some bros were trainning Baat Jaam Do, Thiago Silva(12G VT), Marcelo Barretos(12G VT), and Carlos Antunes(12G VT) were preparing the pics for the memorial wall at the Copacabana MYVT Branch, leaded by Si Sok Ursula(11G VT)
All the dedication by these brothers to their Si Sok Ursula, had already results...

BRUCE LEE SPECIAL IS BACK! (ESPECIAL BRUCE LEE ESTÁ DE VOLTA!)

ESPECIAL
BRUCE LEE ESTÁ DE VOLTA AO BLOG DO PEREIRA!
THE BRUCE LEE SPECIAL IS BACK!!

As you well know, often away for some reason, death, etc ... A Si Fu can not be directly responsible for a practitioner's Kung Fu . And  is in these times that comes out the Si Hing.

The older kung fu brother  (Si Hing) will bridge the gap between the kung fu of the master (Si Fu) and the development of the practitioner (To Dai).

Tendo sido representado inclusive no filme "O GRANDE MESTRE 2" (Ip Man 2).

For Bruce, he´s closest Si Hing was the legend Wong Shun Leung. One of the most respected names in martial circle till today. Even being represented in "THE GRANDMASTER II" (Ip Man)

MOY YAT & WONG SHUN LEUNG.

In the photo above, we see Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, and among other big names of Ip Man Family is currently focusing on writing, Wong Shun Leung. On the relationship of the two, was once told that when Moy Yat entered the KF Family , W. Shun Leung   was already a super respected  Si Hing. And everyone called him affectionately as "Ah Leung" . Moy Yat when he had to call him, he called by that nickname, but Wong Shun Leung would not answer. Only when Moy Yat said, "Si Hing" He answered.

Years later, Wong Shun Leung said to Moy Yat that he was still very young at the
Kung Fu Family  to treat him so closely. Today in our clan, however it is the intimate relationship between two practitioners, the term Si Hing is always used to remind the older, his responsibility with the Kung Fu of the younger .
WONG SHUN LEUNG É APRESENTADO NO
FILME EXATAMENTE COMO AH LEUNG.

Wong Shun Leung is presented in the movie exactly as Ah Leung.

CARTA DE BRUCE LEE PARA WONG SHUN LEUNG:
BRUCE LEE´S LETTER TO WONG SHUN LEUNG (TRANSLATION IN THE END OF THIS POST)

She´s still alive 'till today.

Brandon Lee still a kid with his father in Hong Kong TV in 1969:

...Recentemente, eu ter organizado uma empresa. Escrevi uma história :  "A Flauta Silenciosa". James Coburn e vamos atuar nesse filme. A perspectiva é boa.

Bruce Lee e o roteirista e aluno Stirling Silliphant.
Bruce Lee and his student Stirling Silliphant.

Based in a story made by Bruce, the movie "Iron Circle" was starring by David Carradine.

Quentin Tarantino put a easter-egg in this Kill Bill scene when Carradine playing flute talks about Pai Mei.

In 1973, afther his death, Bruce did not seen "Enter the Dragon" becoming the greatest martial arts movie from all time. Also, the first one in Hollywood and the big hit of his career. With coreopraphies by him and his Si Hing Wong Shun Leung.

Very before Anderson Silva and Seagal (lol) , Bruce already supported Chuck Norris as we see in this photo.

Bruce Lee in his backyard:

Neste episódio, o próprio Bruce treina o personagem principal, e fala sua frase mais memorável: "Be water my friend..."

Stirling Silliphant written an entire episode of LONGSTREET to Bruce´s new art. In this episode we have Bruce Lee talking his most famous quote: "Be water my friend..."

Bruce Lee"

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

1970,jANUARY 11
Dear Shun Leung,

...Now I have bought a house in Bel-Air.It is about half an acre. There are many trees. It has the taste of a range. It is located on a hill top near Beverly Hills. Moreover , besides my son Brandon, I have had a daughter,Shannon, who is seven months old. Have you re-married?Please,send my regards to your sisters.
Recently, I have organized a film production company.I have also written a story "The Silent Flute". James Coburn and I will act in it.Stirling Silliphant is the screen play writer. He is a famous screen play writer. We plan to make the first martial arts film in Hollywood. The prospect is good.About six months from now, the filming work will begin.Allwho participate in this film are my students. In the future, Steve Mcqueen may also work togheter with me.Im very excited about this plan.
As to martial arts,I still practice daily. I teach my students and friends twice a week. It doesn´t matter if they are Western Boxers, Tae Kwon Do practitioners or wrestlers, I will teach them as long as they are friendly and will not get uptight.
Since I started to practice realistic in 1966(protectors,gloves,etc) I feel that I had many prejudices  before, and they are wrong. So I changed the name of the gist of my study to Jeet Kune Do. Jeet Kune Do is only a name. The most important thing is to avoid having bias in training. Of course, I run everyday, I practice my tools(punch, kick, trhow, etc) I have to raise , the basic conditions daily. Altough the principle of boxing is important, practicality is even more important.
I thank you and Si fu, for teaching me the ways of Ving Tsun in Hong Kong. Actually, I have to thank you for leading me to walk on a practical road.Especially in the states, there are western boxers , I often practice with them too. There are a lot of so called masters in Ving Tsun here, I really hope that they will not be so blind to fight with those guys.
I may trip to Hong Kong . I hope that you are still living is the same place. We are intimate friends, we need to meet more and chat about our past days. That will be a lot of fun, dont you think? When you see Si Fu ,please, send my regards to him.

Happines be with you.

I do not know where you've been on the night of UFC RIO, but I, who was with friends in a bar near my house watching, saw, something that surpassed any fight that night:

And you know what? A dude singing "Eye Of The Tiger" and "Burnin ' Heart", both songs from the soundtrack of Rocky films.

EYE OF THE TIGER:"Aos 17 seg Pereira mostra sua alegria!" rs
(in 17 s, I say "VERY GOOD!")

But to top it off "EYE OF THE TIGER", he sends after the victory of Anderson Silva, a music that only the fans know, "Burning Heart" from Rocky IV. Music that plays when Sly goes to Russia to train.

And this time friend, I even sang along! Haha

If he plays "GLORY OF LOVE" from Karate Kid II!!  Brother! I would stand up and sing with him!!! haha

The Saturday begins very early with a breakfast with Si fu near his house.

Saturday is one of the most crowded day in our Mo Gun. So, a lot of Ving Tsun sessions happens in the same time. Here you see Jade Camacho(12G VT) and Luana Reis(12G VT).

Lucas Reis(12G VT), Luana´s brother, stands for a photo, while his great friend and now also a KF bro, plays chi sau in the background with another bro's.

But Saturday is also a time to apreciate Rio´s sun with Kung Fu brothers. Here, I enjoy a very good moment with a person that I really can call "brother": Vladimir Anchieta(12G VT) and his son, Daniel.

Yeah brother! Daniel(12G VT) takes it serious!

Ok, remember one thing: Never invite Thiago Pereira(12G VT) to any place where singers sings ROCKY music. Imagine some dude almost 30 years old filming and singing with the singer!!

Pois é!rs
yeah! lol

It was on a Thursday afternoon at the MYVT Rio Branch, that Si Fu decided to change the Muk Yan Jong place. To this was necessary to have a good varnish on them. And after spotting the whole floor of Meier
Mo Gun  with paint several times, I was skilled to keep that from happening again ..lol

With a bigger skill and calm, in the same time, my Si Fu was painting to bring back the colors once painted by Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, when he gave this as a gift to
Si Baak Paulo Freitas(11G VT)[photo],who later, gave this to our Mo Gun.

Si fu doing his best in every line in this beautiful evening at MYVT Rio.

While that, I was trying to not paint myself with varnish.

Si Fu made a special frame for this work, and today it is hang on the main practice room.In fact, in our
Mo Gun , Si Fu prefers the gifts given by his Si Fu and Si gung, and in this case from a Si hing  to decorate the place.

KUNG FU LIFE : SEPT, 08 (VIDA KUNG FU , 08,SET)

Last night, going back home after a day in MYVT Meier´s Mo Gun, I was driving from North to West Zone of Rio, with Jade Camacho(12G VT) when I got a call from Carlos Antunes(12G VT) inviting me to have some meal with him and too more kung fu brothers: My Si Hing Mauro Lima(12G VT) and Thiago Silva(12G VT)

"Mo Lam"(武林).

I tought that was very cool to find everyone in our favorite hot-dog place. 'cause were two groups coming from different Mo Gun from the same Family.
During those moments,  we always talk about subjects linked with the "Mo Lam"(武林). But of course, we talk about other things like...

Aqui por exemplo, tento convencer a todos a me acompanharem ao show do "Tears for Fears" em Outubro aqui no Rio.

When I was trying to invite the brothers to watch "TEARS FOR FEARS" concert next month here in Rio with me. But they did not look so interested!!hehe So I decide to act like a "troll" in facebook with them!
#EPICWIN

translation:
* "Luciana and Vanessa we´re gonna have a concert by Tears for Fears in Barra Neighborhood in October. I Was thinking if you two dont wanna go with Carlos Cianci(Antunes 12G VT) and Thiago Silva (12G VT)?They were very excited!"

Vanessa(Thiago´s wife) answered: "Look, if he wants to go, I´ll go too!"
#EPICWIN!!

In the end, what we have, is a lot of good memories! And with those brothers, I have this good luck!

MÉIER RUNS WILD ONCE AGAIN ON FRIDAY! (Sexta-Feira no Mo Gun do Méier)

Felipe Mury 12G VT(in the right) came back from a trip with his girl, and as soon as he arrived he just supported the kung fu of his young KF bro´s in Cham Kiu, like Léo Descoffier(12G VT) and Jade camacho(12G VT)

Later in the same day, the house was full when all the 12G VT: Rodrigo Evaristo, Pedro Freire and Ailton Jordao with his wife and daughter came to play Siu Nim Do. We spent more than a hour and a half togheter exchanging experiences between each other, dont bothering about age, sex or anything like that! 'Cause in fact, in Ving Tsun, as big the diversity, better!

In the end of the day, to do the VIDEO TRIBUTE TO SI BAAK GUNG MICKY CHAN , I asked Jade to play a brazilian rock song "TEMPO PERDIDO" (LOST TIME), 'cause the lirycs talks about "Time going by"...  But between another options Jade choose her favorite song again..hehe "I`M YOURS"...
