DE MULETA: O ESTILO BIU JI (ON CRUTCH THE BIU JI WAY)

The first from left to right, is my childhood friend and super known in Kung Fu Family Rafael "Romarinho". Beside him, my cousin Roberto Nato, which Si Fu and others also know very well. And I'm in the right corner: Slimmer, better mood right? lol ...This photo was taken on December 31, 2007. I did not know, but 5 hours from that , I would go into what would be the beginning of the 3 worst years of my life!

At that time, I must have watched the "Rocky" movies at least once a week .. hehe
And when I turned 28 years old and eventually things returned to normal, I got to make a video for myself .. hehe

Mas isso hoje, já não importa mais...

But today, it is all in the past...

ESTILO BIU JI...
THE BIU JI WAY...

Last Thursday, we were at the Mo Gun and Si Fu appears on crutches. But still he was doing very slow steps, Si Fu has arrived joking about the origin of the problem .. lol Always smiling.

Si Fu started to have fun with his situation. In fact, Si Fu has already lived very much good and bad moments. Inside and outisde Kung Fu Life.

In early 2000's for example, you can see Si Fu  in the left, recording the session of the dear Francisco Alvarez of Cham Kiu. Lectured in the occasion by Si Gung in person at the legendary MYVT Jacarepaguá School.

I can still remember my first session of Biu Ji leaded by Si Sok André Cardoso (photo) in 2002, when at the end he said that from there, there could be no more excuses for me. For one who studies the Biu Ji, he must understand that "you must do with what you have, do what you have to do, in the time that is needed to"

I learned a lot from these scenes of Si Fu always smiling always focusing on overcoming. I think if I had remembered the words of Si Sok André when it was necessary for me those 3 years of my life,
I would have watched less often the "ROCKY" movies, and perhaps  have more fun from my adversities using the "Biu Ji Way"

SI GUNG LEO IMAMURA AND JET LI(SI GUNG E JET LI)

In October 2010, Si Gung gave me some relics. I remember well of happiness and anxiety in my back from Sao Paulo to get home, to open all those bags full of magazine clippings and rare items of our family and the world of Ving Tsun Kung Fu in general.

One of the items is this booklet I did the scan, which was delivered at the entrance of the presentation of the National Wushu Team of China in 1974 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Dude, just to get an idea, was the first official presentation in the West of a team of Chinese WuShu.

Estavamos a caminho do saudoso "Madureira 1 e 2".

Eu fiquei indignado. Quem era esse tal de Jet Li? Ele melhor que Jackie Chan? Até parece!

It was an afternoon in 1998. I was walking down one of the main streets of Madureira, the greatest neighborhood of North Zone of Rio, with my Grand-Father when I stopped to buy two Street Fighter comics. We were going to watch GODZILLA at the cinema. One of the last ones on the street in Rio. Not inside a Mall. While we were waiting for the movie session, I saw a poster of Lethal Weapon 4 , that was written that Jet Li was the biggest star in Asia. I was crazy! How could exist a guy better than Jackie Chan?

Jet Li is known worldwide today, but it all started with him very young. He is called Li Lian Je. Still very young Jet Li became national champion of WuShu numerous times, and thanks to that, not only was part of the entourage that performed at Madison Square Garden in 74 just 11 years old, as was also highlighted in this booklet spoke about the presentation as we see above.

Can you find him in those pics above? He is in the last picture from left to right in the bottom of the page.

Only two years later I would know his work watching an old martial arts movie session every Sunday night on TV.

Jet became a star worldwide with "The Shaolin Temple" from 1982. A movie with a very charismatic star(Li), a very cool theme and a lot of innocence!

Assista o trailer do clássico!
Watch the classic trailer!

If you watched the trailer above. Now you know from where I took the music for the video about Si Fu and Moy Yat  Clan's trip to South Shaolin.

Continuando...

A great relic! In fact a very cool one!

One of the pages of the book was about the presentations and what was the chinese Wu Shu as wee see above. I prepared a video where you can see the young Jet Li in action, but also, the entrance of the event in 1974. You can see people getting the red book equal  the ones Si Gung gave me!!! Cool! Isnt it?

REVIEW: FLORES DO ORIENTE(THE FLOWERS OF WAR REVIEW)

"The Flowers of War" ou como ficou no Brasil "Flores do Oriente".

"The Flowers of War" Just arrived in video stores across the country, and stars Christian Bale (Batman) in the lead role.
The film talks about the Nanjing Massacre, in which Japanese army committed numerous atrocities in this region of China.

Zhang YiMou, Master from máster-pieces like: Red Lanterns and Hero, brings another great work wich will schock you. And if was not Bale presence in this movie, you could believe that is real.

Bale is great in his role, but he is very well known by us , so you remember when you see him that it is just a movie. He plays a undertaker who becomes a priest to save orphans and prostitutes.

Dont miss another master-piece by Zhang YiMou, but be prepared for hard-core scenes!

MOY YAT BIU JI REMASTERED AND TALK (MOY YAT FAZ BIU JI E FALA SOBRE ELE)

O USO INDEVIDO DE IMAGENS NA INTERNET:
THE MISUSE OF IMAGES ON THE INTERNET:

Not long ago, the records of each Family Kung Fu in the world, were restricted to small groups. In most cases, only the members of that family.
With the advent of internet, it had become easier to find a site with players and watch a rare video. But when youtube appeared, many of the famous footage were available for everyone.
Far too often these shots are posted without authorization by people seeking views. In some cases, national and international sites, selling DVD's filmed in a context often informal or even official, without giving any credit to the creators. Much less pay royalties.
It is important that the exchange of ideas and information moving increasingly into the Mo Lam, which is the name by which it is known "Chinese Martial Circle", but it would be awesome if that could happen, with people  not taking advantage from the work of others to promote themselves or gain some value on it.
Think about it: A movie can inspire you in many ways, but at no time replace the  support of a Si Fu or a Si Hing in the process. Even because these are people who will help you watch this kind of material in the manner most appropriate possible. Appreciating the work of others and knowing  the nuances of your own Family..

The BIU JI REMASTERED:

It was with great surprise that I saw the repercussion that caused the videos remastered with Si Taai Moy Yat and Bruce Lee.
So I make available also in a version "remastered" Si Taai Gung Moy Yat playing Biu Ji.
The direct disciples of Ip Man playing Biu Ji ,many are already available on youtube. Each of essentially equal, but very different from each other in many respects. Therefore, I invite everyone to attend, not only of Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, but also these other great masters of our art and wonder in each one: "What is the context of this demonstration?", "At what level was the Kung Fu of him when he did it? "," For whom he made this record because there was no youtube? "and also:" what he meant by this ? "

SI FU TALKS ABOUT SIU NIM TAU (SI FU FALA DE SIU NIM TAU)

De fato, eu sempre achei estranho o nome do filme "Warriors Two" ser "Warriors Two". Sempre me perguntei se algum dia teriam filmado "Warriors one"...

In fact, I've always found strange the name of the film "Warriors Two" be "Warriors Two". I always wondered if they would ever filmed "Warriors one" ... It's like Street Fighter, I always thought it had started by  "Street Fighter II", but it had had a first game ...
If you do not know the seventies film that tells the story of how Chan Wah Shun,Si Fu of Ip Man, met his Si Fu Leung Jaan, click the trailer below:

It took me a while to understand that the name referred to "two warriors". The film has several striking scenes directed by Sammo Hung, who entered the history of Old-School Hong Kong movies, but one in particular is important to us ...

Chan Wah Shun (photo) is finally accepted as a disciple by Leung Jaan. And start learning the Siu Nim Tau ... In the scene where he watches his Si Fu demonstrating this sequence, we see a very interesting dialogue between him and Fung Wah (Sammo Hung):

NOVOS MEMBROS NO SIU NIM TAU E SI FU FALA SOBRE ESTE NÍVEL:
NEW MEMBRES IN SIU NIM TAU : SI FU TALKS ABOUT THIS LEVEL!

It seems like yesterday that: Marcelo Ormond, Bruno Bernardo, Cynthia Tong, Andre Almeida and Bruno Tito began the Siu Nim Tau. Now, a new group formed by practitioners with a lot of potential is here. In the picture we see Pedro Ivo, seated in blue t-shirt after his first session of Siu Nim Tau, wich I had the opportunity to coordinate, hearing a bit about the logic of that level, Si Fu's own.

Above, we see Donie Yen at the time of "Ip Man" release in a TV show promoting the movie with Siu Nim Tau.

Si Fu asked that everyone present could speak to Pedro in a nutshell, what was the Siu Nim Tau. Replies quite different, depicting different moments were placed, and Si Fu made an observation:
The "Nim" (念) of "Siu Nim Tau", can also mean: Idea, which concerns the "future." It can mean "study" with respect to "present", and lastly it can mean "remember" which can mean past.

(Si Fu pratica o Siu Nim Tau na antiga sede mundial da Moy Yat Ving Tsun em NY)
(Si Fu at the old MYVT headquarters in NY)

Si Fu said that in my case, once I practice a considerable time, the "Nim" (念) represents a memory, because to speak of Siu Nim Tau, I end up resorting to past experiences. For Guilherme, meaning "study", as he is very focused at the moment, working the Siu Nim Tau. And to Bruno and Ismael means "idea" sincethey  started a short time, and are still discovering ...
Si Fu played the Siu Nim Tau with us.

E "Nim Tau"(念頭) "Vontade".

Abaixo, Cecilia Wong, no clássico Old-School, "Stranger from Shaolin", no qual ela interpreta Yim Ving Tsun, fazendo o Siu Nim Tau:

Si Fu however, commented that "Siu" (小) can mean "little." And "Nim Tau" (念頭) "to desire", "ambition". Thus, when practicing the "Siu Nim Tau", we can also interpret that we should have "little ambition" or "Little desire." Desire to learn soon, to see what has then to do better than the other, it is ... The more comfortable during your practice, the more you move away from what you seek ...

Below, Cecilia Wong, the classic Old-School, "Stranger from Shaolin," in which she plays Yim Ving Tsun, doing Siu Nim Tau:

Well, some people may wonder about having already read or heard talk about "Siu LIN Tau."
This "Lin (練)," brings to an end a completely different denotation. Where in this case, Siu (小), formerly "little", is replaced by a sense almost a bad word as "small". For "Lin (練)", meaning "training" or "practice." Thus, "Siu Lin Tau" would be something like "Small Initial Training". In order minor ...

Eu, Pedro Ivo, Bruno Bernardo, e Si Fu, terminamos a noite tomando nossa tradicional sopa semanal....

The waitress was not so good taking pictures! But you can see me, Pedro Ivo(blue), Bruno Bernardo and also Si Fu before we get some soup, not the "nazi-soup" from Seinfield, but also traditional after thursdays nights...
