Nesta cena , Sammo Hung, que interpreta o ancestral Wong Wah Po, começa a transmitir o Ving Tsun para Leung Bik, interpretado pelo chatissimo Nicolas Tse, que até hoje só a Cynthia Tong gostou..rs   Wong Wah Po começa obviamente, pelo Siu Nim Tau....

Dois Sábados atrás , Si Fu durante um agradável almoço no lendário shopping Barra Garden, convidou : Gabriel Faria, Pedro Ivo, Pedro Silva, Rodrigo Sant'Anna, Luan Scliar, Filipe Sugaya, Carol Oliveira a ingressarem na Família Kung Fu.

Two Saturdays ago, Si Fu during a pleasant lunch at the legendary Barra Garden mall, invited Gabriel Faria, Pedro Ivo, Pedro Silva, Rodrigo Sant'Anna, Luan Scliar, Filipe Sugaya, Carol Oliveira to join the Kung Fu Family.

Mas aquela manhã, teve suas atividades iniciadas bem antes...
But that morning , the day began earlier....

Quando cheguei pela manhã, esta foi a cena que encontrei. Todos reunidos para a sessão de Mui Fa Jong que estava acontecendo.

When I arrived, this was the scene : Evrryone gathered to study the Muk Yan Jong, the wodden dummy.

Cada um ia até o Jong, para estudar a parte em questão que estávamos trabalhando. Naquele momento era o Gui vendo a terceira parte.

Each one was suppose to stay in front of the dummy and do the thing. The part of the set that we were working on. The photo above, shows Gui studying.

Fazia tempo que eu não ia ao Núcleo Barra Sábado pela manhã. Pois nesse horário sempre estou no Méier. E foi bem divertido. Na verdade, sempre que estamos em um Mo Gun, situações desconfortáveis ou melhor: desafiadoras ocorrem, e você tem que se virar. E por incrível que pareça, é isso que o faz cada vez mais querer estar lá....

There is someti-me since the last time that I went in a Saturday morning to Barra da Tijuca school. Well  I'm always at MYVT Meier. And it was really fun. In fact, whenever we are in a Mo Gun, uncomfortable situations happens, and you have to make it happen no matter how. And oddly enough, that's what makes increasingly everyone wanting to be there ....

Mas quando desci um pouco mais tarde, e vi essa cena. Uma prática coordenada por Si Sok Felipe, na garagem, com Joelson(esquerda) chutando, e o pessoal tendo que usar a distância... Enquanto os demais faziam uma roda em volta, só uma cena me veio a cabeça...

Mas todos puderam se divertir com outras práticas também sugeridas por Si Sok. Que não compõem o Sistema Ving Tsun, mas que tem seus conceitos utilizados, para que iniciantes e veteranos possam praticar juntos algum tema que surge no momento.

Foi muito marcante ver como a mesa estava. Bruno Tito, André Almeida e Pedro Correa que já são membros da Família Kung Fu, bem como eu e Guilherme, também estávamos lá.
Até mesmo Joelson, que está conhecendo o Ving Tsun através do módulo Experience, e Gabriel, irmão de André, estiveram presentes.

Si Fu pediu que cada um falasse um pouco sobre como havia sido sua experiência até ali com o Ving Tsun. Também falou sobre o uso apropriado de termos em chinês, e com exemplos bem curiosos, todos se divertiram muito entendendo um pouco mais sobre Kung Fu.

Si Fu também deixou que os praticantes que já são membros da Família, falassem um pouco sobre suas próprias experiências ao longo de seu tempo de prática.

Ainda que o Ving Tsun lide com o que chamamos de "Guerra Simbólica", que não precisa ser nada muito extremo , mas algo que lhe traga uma experiência significativa através do corpo durante a prática, e através das interações durante a Vida Kung Fu, nós gostamos disso...

 

Even if Ving Tsun deal with what we call "Symbolic War", which need not be anything too extreme, but something that brings significant experience through the body during practice, and through interactions during Kung Fu Life, we like it ...

 

François Julien(foto abaixo c/ si fu e si sok), meu escritor favorito que os recebeu em seu escritório em Paris,, escreveu em um de seus livros sobre esse sentimento segundo o Pensamento Clássico Chinês:

MYVT COPACABANA PREPARING FOR THE CHINESE NEW YEAR! (COPACABANA SE PREPARA PARA O ANO NOVO CHINÊS!)

Você pode começar bem o seu dia, de várias formas. E eu nessa semana acabei por dar uma carona a Julinha(esquerda) que é filha do meu Mestre Julio Camacho, até a casa de Rebeka(direita), filha da Mestre Úrsula Lima.
Mestre Úrsula tem trabalhado bastante no Núcleo Copacabana, para dentre outras coisas, preparar o Mo Gun para o ano novo chinês, mas ela não está sozinha nessa missão, e pôde contar com a ajuda de seus To Dai e de alguns To Dai de Mestre Julio Camacho também...

Em 2013 teremos o Ano da Serpente no calendário chinês. Na verdade , para mim em particular, quando penso em serpentes e cultura chinesa, vem logo a cabeça uma única coisa: "The Snake in The Eagle´s Shadow". Clássico dos anos 70, de Yuen Woo Ping (Matrix, Kill Bill) estrelando Jackie Chan no filme que o colocaria no mapa , e co-estrelando a lenda do old-school de Hong Kong: Simon Yuen(foto).

 

In 2013 we have the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar. Actually, for me especially when I think of sunakes and Chinese culture, coming as a rocket to my head one thing: "The Snake In The Eagle's Shadow." Classic from the 70s,by Yuen Woo Ping (The Matrix, Kill Bill) starring Jackie Chan in the film that put him on the map, and co-starring the legend Simon Yuen (pictured).

 

 

 Eu ganhei esse filme em DVD em 2002, da minha primeira sogra. Ela queria me dar um presente de aniversário, e eu escolhi esse DVD. Eu já o tinha visto na loja, mas na época um DVD era bem caro.





Ela olhou a capa e achou que eu estivesse louco, mas vocês podem ter certeza que é um filme divertidíssimo! Assista Jackie Chan abaixo com cara de garoto numa super coreografia na tela de abertura!

I got this movie on DVD in 2002, he mother of my first girlfriend gave me. She wanted to give me a birthday present, and I chose this DVD. I had seen it in the store, but at the time a DVD was quite expensive.

Quando pensamos em ano-novo chinês, sempre vem a mente um animal que "Rege" aquele ano.
Interessante que cada animal , tem uma característica própria, uma natureza só sua. E quando toda a população, se sintoniza nessa mesma natureza, todos estão na mesma frequência dentro do ano em questão.

When we think  'bout Chinese New Year always comes to mind that an animal "leads" that year.

O ano novo chinês, não é uma questão de mágica, mas de sintonia. Quando toda a população se prepara, quitando suas dividas, reformando suas casas, tentando não deixar nada pendente , para poder, mais uma vez, sintonizar com o novo ano...

No caso do Ano da Serpente, você pode até pensar: "É, esse ano deve então ser arrastado. Afinal, serpentes se arrastam..."  , ou: "Esse ano deve pegar a gente de surpresa, afinal, serpentes dão o bote quando menos se espera!"...   Mas isso não poderia estar mais errado...

O ano da serpente está relacionado muito mais ao fator "Transformação". As serpentes trocam de pele . E essa característica, simboliza "transformações" no ano da serpente!

Cynthia Tong, outra To Dai de Mestre Julio Camacho , tem feito seus irmãos Kung Fu do Méier sentirem sua falta, devido a seus horários não permitirem sua presença, mas em Copacabana ela se dedicou a ajudar sua Si Sok, Mestre Úrsula Lima.

 

The Kung Fu Family from Meier Wild neighborhood, is missing Cynthia Tong. Her schedule is very complicated this year. But she is being able to help for example MYVT Copacabana.

Helena Carneiro, que pratica o módulo Ving Tsun Experience. Um módulo que permite ao interessado conhecer o trabalho realizado num Núcleo da MYVT-RJ, também participou. Ela está usando a terrível tinta "oriental vermelho" ao que parece....

Ao menos no Núcleo Méier, essa tinta amaldiçoada não pegava de jeito nenhum. Passamos por todos os tons de vermelho equivalente a palheta do paintbrush  antes de alcançar o tal "Vermelho Oriental"......

 

Helena Carneiro,is practicing Ving Tsun Experience module. A module that allows interested people to know the work of a -MYVT RJ branch, also participated. She is using the  terrible ink "oriental red" apparently ....
At least in the MYVT Meier, this cursed ink would not start at all. We went through all shades of red reed equivalent to the paintbrush before reaching the so-called "Oriental Red " ......

Esse Muk Yan Jong foi um presente de Mestre Julio Camacho a Mestre Úrsula. Na verdade, esse boneco foi o primeiro do Núcleo Jacarepaguá. E foi montado no mesmo ano da admissão de Mestre Úrsula na Familia Moy Yat Sang: 1995

 

This Muk Yan Jong, was a gift from Master Julio to Master Úrsula. In fact, this wodden dummy was the first one in Jacarepaguá branch in the 90's. It was finished in the same year that Master Úrsula entered into the Moy Yat Sang Family: 1995

CHINA TRIP 2012 (VIAGEM A CHINA 2012)

Depois de um longo hiato nas postagens, estamos de volta! E dessa vez pra valer! Isso tem acontecido porque infelizmente tenho permitido o dia-a-dia me engolir sem dar a mim meu próprio tempo. E pensando nisso, na última Quinta, seguindo o exemplo do meu irmão kung fu Marcelo Ormond, fiz o trajeto Jacarepaguá-Barra até o Mo Gun de bike. Calor, amizade com ciclistas, carros buzinando, poeira na cara, e incriveis paisagens somado a um forte vento em alguns pontos, fizeram de um trajeto que faço há anos, algo completamente novo... Simbolizando que mesmo entre meus compromissos, eu posso, e devo, aproveitar ao máximo o potencial de cada situação...


Did you miss the posts? Yeah man, I´ve been away for some time. Because I was not properly riding my wild time, and I could not handle everything well... Thats why last week, I made a decision: Put my favs song in my Mp3 player and as my lil' kung fu bro' Marcelo Ormond, ride my bike from or neighborhood 'till Mo Gun. That was really awsome. I made some new friends in the way, a lot of sun light on me, music, beautiful landscapes and the most important: I was sure, that even with a small amount of time, I m able to enjoy my life even in a way that I know from years ago... And take advantage  from the potential of any situation! Somehing about "to be like water"... Have you ever heard something like that? hehe

PEREIRA AND GUILHERME ON THE BEACH (PEREIRA E GUILHERME NA PRAIA)

Era mais um Sábado chuvoso no Rio. E depois de outra manhã de muito trabalho no Mo Gun, sobrando apenas eu e Guilherme ao final de tudo, fui convidado por ele a irmos andando até a praia. Trajeto esse que não fazia desde os tempos das corridas nas manhãs de Sábado com Carlos Antunes ou Thiago Silva em 2009.
Por todo o caminho podemos conversar bastante, saber mais sobre os projetos de vida de um e de outro, e consequentemente nos conhecermos melhor.
O plano inicial era praticar na areia um pouco, afinal, com o tempo ruim que estava fazendo, acreditava que apenas alguns poucos surfistas estariam a metros e metros de distância no mar, e a areia estaria livre. Mas qual não foi minha surpresa ao ver a praia cheia...
Sentamos um pouco na areia, conversamos bastante, comemos um pouco no calçadão e depois fomos andando até o Barra Shopping.
Foi uma bela caminhada das que eu costumava fazer até mesmo sozinho, mas dessa vez na companhia de um grande irmão kung fu e amigo, Guilherme Farias "Moy Faat Lin".

The initial plan was to play Ving Tsun on the sand a bit, after all, with the bad weather that was doing, I believed that only a few surfers were there ,yards and yards of distance at sea, and sand would be free. But what was my surprise to see the beach full ...

We sat in the sand a little, talked a lot, ate a little on the boardwalk and then we walked to the Barra Mall.

It was a beautiful walk like I used to do even alone, but this time in the company of a great friend and kung fu brother, Guilherme Farias "Moy Lin Faat."

Hoje não se pode mais dizer "de onde Guilherme é" , pois ele está em todos os lugares. Mas com certeza ele é um dos grandes orgulhos do Méier, tendo sido o primeiro saído de lá, a alcançar a categoria de membro vitalício, como discípulo de Si Fu de nome Moy Faat Lin.

Nowadays, you can not say that Guilherme is from this branch or from that branch , because he is in everyhwere in Rio de Janeiro Ving Tsun. But he is also the jewel from Meier wild neighbrhood, because he is the first one from Meier, to become a special student , as a disciple of Si Fu by the name of Moy Faat Lin.

BRUCE LEE CREATES THE MARTIAL ARTS EQUIPAMENT! (BRUCE LEE CRIOU OS PROTETORES PARA ARTES MARCIAIS!)

Em 1999, eu não era lá um exemplo de aluno. Matava(cabulava) muitas aulas. Conheci a Zona Sul do Rio inteira aos 15 anos só nesses passeios. Na foto acima por exemplo, brinco de luta com meu grande amigo Rafael("Romarinho") no Jd. Botânico quando deveriamos estar na escola.

Numa certa vez, eu voltava do Madureira Shopping, andando pela Rua Carolina Machado, pra chegar até o ponto de ônibus e pegar o São Vicente, que me levaria pra Rocha Miranda.
Ao passar pela lendária lanchonete '13 de Madureira' , vi no jornaleiro próximo, uma série de quadros de madeira, com fotos de varios atores em alguns dos seus personagens mais marcantes. O do Bruce Lee me chamou a atenção, e eu acabei comprando esse quadro ao lado(que tenho em ótimo estado até hoje) por incríveis 2 reais...

Mas eu mal sabia, que minha maior recordação de Bruce Lee, não seria esse quadro...

In 1999, I was an example of a student. I used to skipp many classes at school. I met the entire South Zone of Rio when I was just 15 years old by myself in those outings. In the photo above for example, I play fighting with my good friend Rafael in Botanic Garden when was supposed to be in school.At one time, I was returning from Madureira neighborhood mall, walking down the Carolina Machado street, to get the São Vicente bus, which would lead me to Rocha Miranda wild neighborhood where my grandparents used to live.
As I passed by the legendary snack-bar "Madureira´s 13", I saw next to it, a series of wooden frames with photos of various hollywood actors in some of its most striking characters. The Bruce Lee caught my attention, and I ended up buying this , that you see in the photo above (which its in great condition untill today) by only 1 dollar ...

But I barely knew, that my biggest memory of Bruce Lee, was not this picture ...

Sinceramente, não esperava ganhar tal presente do Si Gung. Foi uma honra muito grande pra mim, e guardo com carinho esse par de luvas lendário. Não só porque foram de Bruce Lee, mas porque elas fazem parte de uma revolução, para todas as artes marciais. Iniciada por Bruce Lee e seu amigo e aluno: George Lee...

Honestly. I was not expecting such a gift by Si Gung´s hands. It was a great honor! Not just because this gloves are legendary, but also because those are symbols of a revolution in the martial arts!

SURGE A IDÉIA DOS PROTETORES :
THE IDEA OF HEAD-PROTECTORS COMES OUT:

Tudo começou, quando Bruce Lee,observou que as artes marciais perdiam muito em competições onde não haviam toque. Os juízes julgavam qual golpe causaria mais dano caso pegasse, e a pontuação era feita em cima disso:

When Bruce saw that the martial arts tournament judges were just considering the most dangerous movements to give points without any of the contenders touch each other, he became worried...

Bruce observou os protetores de cabeça da marinha americana, que hoje são usados por jogadores de Rugby, e teve a idéia de pedir a George Lee, que produzisse protetores exclusivos para o Kung Fu. De maneira que os praticantes pudessem usar suas habilidades no máximo, no momento em que os toques estivessem liberados....

Bruce watched the U.S. Navy-Head-Guard, which today are used by Rugby players, and he had the idea of asking George Lee, to produced protectors for exclusive use by Kung Fu practitioners. So that practitioners could use their skills at a highest level touching each other ....

...Linda e eu vamos até Oakland para passar um mês aí antes de irmos para Hollywwod ou Hong Kong.
A 20th Century Fox combinou 85%. Se isso não sair, eu tenho dois contratos me esperando em Hong Kong.
Durante esta minha estadia, gostaria que você aparecesse pelo menos uma vez na semana lá em casa. Porque eu quero lhe mostrar todas as técnicas de Kung Fu. Tenho certeza de que você vai se beneficiar muito com estes encontros, e confio que você não mostrará estas técnicas a outros praticantes.
Eu envio a você um desenho do que seria um “Naval head guard”*.
Os protetores são o invento mais importante no Kung Fu. Isso vai fazer o nível intermediário em que o Kung Fu está, ir para alturas inimagináveis!
De forma com que o Kung Fu continue supremo se comparado com outros sistemas, o equipamento protetor é uma necessidade.

George não só preparou os capacetes e protetores peitorais, mas observe as mãos de Bruce: Ele já usava nas práticas seguintes, as mesmas luvas do Operação Dragão, e as mesmas que ganhei de Si Gung!

George made the head-protectors and also body-protectors and gloves adapted to Kung Fu! The same from Enter the Dragon and the same that Si Gung gave me.

Bruce Lee participou do legendário torneio de Karate em Long Beach, organizado por Ed Parker nos anos 60. Lá, numa demonstração, Bruce chocaria o mundo das artes marciais, não só pela habilidade demonstrada, mas também pela revolução que causaria, ao apresentar os protetores para a prática de artes marciais idealizados por ele e criados por George como vemos na foto ao lado.


Bruce Lee participated in the legendary Karate tournament in Long Beach, organized by Ed Parker in the 60s. There, in a demonstration, Bruce shocked the martial arts world, not only by demonstrated ability, but also by causing revolution by presenting protectors to practice martial arts devised by him and created by George as seen in the picture.

Abaixo vemos um compilado raríssimo de toda a demonstração de Bruce no torneio de Long Beach. Aos 6:17 s ele usa os protetores com seu sparring.

Essa é uma foto que guardo com carinho, de quando Phelipe Pita, um querido amigo e irmão kung fu, ainda era um aspirante a membro da Familia Kung Fu. Observe que em meu braço, eu estou com um aparador de chutes. Se eu disser a você, quem idealizou tal material e quem o produziu, você acreditaria?

This is a photo that , when Phelipe Pita, a dear friend and kung fu brother, was still in his beginning. Note that on my arm, I'm with a kick-bag. If I say to you, who devised such material and who produced it, would you believe?
