Grand Master Leo Imamura never tires: The power of profound coherence.

A "Visita Oficial" é um instrumento do Programa que continua me surpreendendo. Desde o momento em que o Si Gung pisa na cidade até o momento de sua despedida, todo o seu foco e atenção se voltam para cada uma das pessoas da Família Kung Fu que o está recebendo. Muitas vezes essas visitas ocorrem logo após um longo período de atividades contínuas em sua agenda, mas a seriedade com que o Si Gung trata cada participante, muitas vezes demonstrando mais disposição do que o próprio grupo, ainda me impressiona profundamente. Essa atitude me lembra dos dias de grandes aventuras no início dos anos 2000, quando via meu Si Fu com uma atitude muito semelhante que muito me inspirava. Vinte e cinco anos depois, é importante acreditar quando Si Gung diz que - "Se você não amar o que faz..."- Ele dá um sorriso cerrando os olhos e faz um gesto com uma das mãos como quem diz 'pode esquecer' e complementa - "...você não aguenta". - E talvez apenas uma mistura de amor e compromisso justifiquem sua conduta. Somado a isso, temos o Mestre Felipe Soares, meu Si Suk. Desta vez, ele parecia ter resolvido deixar completamente a Visita Oficial por conta de seus alunos. Porém, esse "completamente" não é algo negligenciado; existe um monitoramento. Existe uma ênfase muito grande no pré-evento e no pós-evento. Quem segue o Si Gung de perto, pode ouvir sua voz dentro da própria cabeça com um efeito de eco, quando algo dá errado, dizendo - "Provavelmente o pré-evento foi mal feito".

Essa crença nas condicionantes que vão favorecer o transvento me encanta cada vez mais, porém isso ainda me parece um grande desafio. Pareço ter uma aptidão a me colocar em situações onde tudo depende de mim e eu preciso resolver com a faca no pescoço. Por anos isso aconteceu, e hoje eu preciso repensar toda a minha maneira de agir. Por isso, esse tem sido meu segundo instrumento favorito do Programa depois do Estudo da Linhagem Moy Yat.

Twenty-five years later, it's important to believe when Si Gung says, 'If you don't love what you do...' - He smiles, squinting his eyes, and gestures with one hand as if to say 'forget it' and adds - '...you won't last.' And perhaps only a mixture of love and commitment justify his conduct. In addition to this, we have Master Felipe Soares, my Si Suk. This time, he seemed to have completely decided to leave the Official Visit to his students. However, this 'completely' is not something neglected; there is monitoring. There is a very strong emphasis on pre-event and post-event. Those who follow Si Gung closely may hear his voice echoing in their heads when something goes wrong, saying - 'Probably the pre-event was poorly done'.

This belief in the conditions that will favour the transwind enchants me more and more, but this still seems like a great challenge to me. I seem to have an aptitude for putting myself in situations where everything depends on me and I need to solve it with a knife at my throat. This has been happening for years, and today I need to rethink my entire way of acting. That's why this has been my second favourite instrument of the Program after the Study of the Moy Yat Lineage.

Si Gung tentava trazer a consciência desde cedo na hora do almoço, quando encontrou primeiro com o dedicado Nakazato, que assim como Lenildo, são alunos do Mestre Felipe. Quando se conta alguma história do Si Gung trazendo um "portrait" de alguém linha dura, é algo extremamente anacrônico, completamente congelado no tempo. Por vezes, ouvi Si Gung dizer que quando era consultor de uma escola, orientava os professores a observarem seus alunos na hora do recreio e dos intervalos, para conhecê-los melhor. Já que na sala de aula, sentavam-se e comportavam-se em um ambiente mais artificializado. Com isso, Si Gung permitia que os líderes da Família Moy Fei Lap pudessem reconhecer seus próprios alunos em um ambiente diferente. Você podia ver claramente quem defendia o outro, quem reclamava, quem dava desculpas, quem era mais ponderado, etc... Tudo isso, intercalado com um momento mais leve, como quando no almoço Si Gung procurou a origem do nome "Nakazato". Com isso, sentado ali no meu canto assistindo toda aquela cena, pude compreender o quão rico é o fato da "Visita Oficial" ser feita por ele, dentro da Dimensão Kung Fu. Eu não conseguiria fazer isso hoje, então procuro estar atento a estas oportunidades.

Sometimes, I heard Si Gung say that when he was a consultant at a school, he advised teachers to observe their students during break times, to get to know them better. You could clearly see who defended others, who complained, who made excuses, who was more thoughtful, etc... All of this, interspersed with a lighter moment, like when at lunch Si Gung sought the origin of the name "Nakazato". With that, sitting there in my corner watching the whole scene, I could understand how rich it is for the "Official Visit" to be conducted by him, within the Kung Fu Dimension. I wouldn't be able to do that today, so I try to be attentive to these opportunities.

Eu também estava animado por contar com a presença do meu Si Hing Leonardo [à direita], pois já imaginava que o Roberto [à esq] estaria lá. Eu e meu Si Hing discordamos de quase tudo, incluindo a abordagem de cada um do Sistema Ving Tsun. Talvez nossa única coisa em comum seja nosso gosto pelo gênero literário "espada e feitiçaria". E por alguma razão misteriosa, seguimos nos encontrando nos últimos cinco anos. Às vezes as discussões ficam exaltadas, mas minha preocupação sempre foi me sentir sem ferramentas para compartilhar algo em um nível que ele julgasse válido de acoplar à sua maneira de pensar. Por isso, sabia que, participando durante o final de semana, talvez esse potencial se manifestasse não através de mim, mas de todo o ambiente que se forma nessas ocasiões. Sabe, existem várias camadas acontecendo a todo o momento, você pode aproveitar como um visitante ou ter um aprendizado profundo a partir do arranjo das interações que ocorrem. De toda forma, também é admirável a coragem do Mestre Felipe em permitir que abertamente todos os Mestres presentes presenciem todos os pontos a melhorar que sua Família Kung Fu apresentaria naqueles três dias. Isso é muito inspirador, pois seu foco nunca esteve em sua imagem, mas no desenvolvimento dos seus alunos.

I was also excited to have the presence of my Si Hing Leonardo [on the right], as I already imagined that Roberto [on the left] would be there. My Si Hing and I disagree on almost everything, including each of our approaches to the Ving Tsun System. Perhaps our only common ground is our fondness for the "sword and sorcery" literary genre. That's why I knew that by participating over the weekend, perhaps this potential would manifest not through me, but through the entire atmosphere that forms on such occasions. You see, there are various layers unfolding all the time; you can either enjoy it as a visitor or have a profound learning experience from the arrangement of interactions that take place. In any case, it is also admirable the courage of Master Felipe in openly allowing all the present Masters to witness all the points for improvement that his Kung Fu Family would present over those three days. This is very inspiring because his focus has never been on his image, but on the development of his students.

Não consigo me recordar de quando criei um vínculo tão especial com a querida co-líder da Família Moy Fei Lap, a Sra. Elisa Wanderley. Ela parece me ter em alta consideração, não só se preocupando como me defendendo e parabenizando. Seu carinho é sempre muito tocante, e esse espírito acolhedor é refletido em todos os membros da Família, que sempre me trataram com mais respeito do que o necessário ao longo dos anos. Tento retribuir prestigiando esses eventos da Família Moy Fei Lap com o máximo possível de praticantes da minha Família Kung Fu [foto]. A certeza de que tudo que ocorrerá estará dentro de uma tentativa de imergir na Dimensão Kung Fu e o zelo com o qual meus alunos são recebidos me incentiva muito.

I can't remember when I formed such a special bond with the dear co-leader of the Moy Fei Lap Family, Mrs Elisa Wanderley. She seems to hold me in high regard, not only caring for me but also defending and congratulating me. Her affection is always very touching, and this welcoming spirit is reflected in all the members of the Family who have always treated me with more respect than necessary over the years. I try to reciprocate by attending these events of the Moy Fei Lap Family with as many practitioners from my Kung Fu Family [photo] as possible. The certainty that everything that will happen will be within an attempt to immerse in the Kung Fu Dimension and the care with which my students are received greatly encourages me.

Em 1996, ocorreu um evento canônico na minha vida: assistir ao filme "Manobra Super Radical" (Airborne, 1993). A história de um rapaz da Califórnia que precisa se mudar para Cincinnati e, após sofrer bullying, ganha o respeito de todos com suas habilidades com roller-blades. Lembro-me bem da cena em que o personagem principal tem um encontro com seu interesse romântico em um Jardim Botânico e, ao se despedirem, a música de fundo me fez pensar na sensação boa que estava sentindo ao ver aquele filme e na tristeza ao perceber que estava acabando. Essa ainda é uma das minhas três cenas favoritas de todos os tempos. Assim também acontece quando essas Visitas estão chegando ao fim. Experimento um nível de imersão tão grande que é como se o tempo parasse. E me emociona muito entender que isso não é um filme, mas que um dia, de repente, pode acabar. Por isso, ao final do dia, refleti sobre meu desejo de que, em algum momento, ao menos um dos meus alunos possa sentir algo assim. Sei que você talvez não entenda, mas a coerência profunda não tem preço. Você a sente a cada momento. E isso emociona, pode acreditar.

In 1996, a canonical event occurred in my life: watching the movie "Airborne" (1993). The story of a California boy who has to move to Cincinnati and, after experiencing bullying, earns everyone's respect with his roller-blade skills. I remember well the scene where the main character has a romantic encounter with his love interest in a Botanical Garden, and as they bid farewell, the background music made me think of the good feeling I had watching that film and the sadness of realizing it was ending. That remains one of my top three favourite scenes of all time. The same feeling arises when these Visits are coming to an end. I experience such a level of immersion that it's as if time stands still. And it deeply moves me to understand that this isn't a film, but that one day, suddenly, it could end. Therefore, at the end of the day, I reflected on my wish that, at some point, at least one of my students could feel something like this. I know you may not understand, but profound coherence is priceless. You feel it every moment. And that's deeply moving, believe me.

Grand Master Leo Imamura's inspiring words about professionalism and leadership.

Era para ser uma tarde de muito aprendizado sobre Siu Nim Tau no Núcleo Freguesia, Mo Gun da Família Moy Fei Lap, Família Kung Fu esta liderada pelo Mestre Felipe Soares. Acontece que com poucos minutos de seminário, fui surpreendido por palavras fortes e inspiradoras de Grão Mestre Leo Imamura(Foto) sobre o que é e como é, ser um profissional de artes marciais.
À todo o momento vivemos transições ininterruptas, e como a maioria dessas transformações são "micro-transformações", acabamos por não perceber quando elas ocorrem. Por outras vezes, podemos sentir que elas estão acontecendo. E me percebo num momento de transição como Si Fu muito forte. E talvez por isso, essas palavras tenham me tocado tanto...

It was supose to be an afternoon of much learning about Siu Nim Tau in the MYVT Freguesia School , Mo Gun of the Moy Fei Lap Family, Kung Fu Family wich is led by Master Felipe Soares. It turns out that with just a few minutes of seminar, I was surprised by Grand Master Leo Imamura's strong and inspiring words (Photo) about what it is and how to be a martial arts professional.
We experience uninterrupted transitions all the time, and since most of these transformations are "micro-transformations," we do not realize when they occur. At other times we may feel that they are happening. And I find myself in a very strong moment of transition as a Si Fu . And maybe that's why those words touched me so much ...

Si Gung falou da importância de nos dedicarmos a entender com afinco o que estamos fazendo e qual nosso papel social. Fez comentários sobre a mesa ancestral, e como a relação com a "eficiência invisível" dessa ancestralidade, pode nos ajudar a aprender como nos entendermos melhor com o "não aparente" - "Um líder, precisa ser capaz de sentir as coisas no ar..." - Disse ele.
Si Gung também fez comentários sobre a fraqueza que carregamos quando em primeiro lugar, escolhemos sempre "negar". E como a relação "Si Fu-To Dai" é importante nesse aspecto - "...Quando alguém nos diz algo, primeiro nós negamos para depois ouvirmos...O Si Fu é a pessoa que você elegeu para ser a única que você não vai negar primeiro. Você primeiro vai ouvir e só depois negar...Se for o caso..."

Si Gung spoke of the importance of working hard to understand what we are doing and what our social role is. He commented on the ancestral table, and how the relationship to the "invisible efficiency" of this ancestry can help us learn how to better understand ourselves with the "not apparent" - "A leader needs to be able to feel things in the air. .." - He said.
Si Gung also commented on the weakness we carry when we first choose to "deny" first. And since the relationship "Si Fu-To Dai" is important in this respect - "... When someone tells us something, we first deny it and then listen ... A Si Fu is a person you have chosen to be the only one you will not deny first. You will first listen and only then deny ... If it is needed to ... "

Mas o que me tocou de verdade, ainda estava por vir: Si Gung em determinado momento, começou a compartilhar com os presentes de maneira muito forte e assertiva, sobre sua visão a respeito do profissional de artes marciais: "...Recentemente tive a oportunidade de falar sobre 'profissionalismo nas artes marciais' no Núcleo Copacabana. Foi muito importante falar sobre isso, porque as pessoas querem trabalhar com artes marciais, mas não estão preparadas de verdade. Ser profissional de artes marciais é ser um guerreiro..." - Ele disse aquilo, com o tom de voz de quem viveu aquelas palavras: "... Não existe a possibilidade de ser um profissional de artes marciais, sem antes ser um guerreiro. Tem pessoas que se a conta não fecha não dormem...A pessoa tem tanto medo que não consegue nem dormir..." - Continuou. - "...Eu trabalho com artes marciais a mais tempo, mas levando em consideração o tempo que estou na Família, são trinta anos...Trinta e um anos, agora, como profissional...E sabe como começa o meu mês? " - Ele fez um gesto indicando um número com a mão direita e riu, parecendo notar a surpresa em alguns dos olhares: "...Mas não tem problema, eu vou aos poucos..."

But what really touched me was yet to come: Si Gung at one point began to share with those present very strongly and assertively about his view of the martial arts professional: "... I've been working with martial arts ....considering the time I'm joined the Family, it's thirty years ago ... Thirty-one years as a professional ... And you know how my month starts ? "- He gestured to a number with his right hand and laughed, seeming to notice the surprise in some of the eyes:" ... But no problem, I'm going slowly ... "

Si Gung encerrou sua fala, comentando sobre a importância de nos perguntarmos se "temos estomago" para exercer essa função.
Àquelas foram palavras que me tocaram, e junto de outras mais que ouvi nas primeiras horas de Seminário, me fizeram refletir muito não somente sobre o trabalho que venho realizando. Mas principalmente, sobre a maneira pela qual realizo esse trabalho.
"...Você paga o jantar para o Si Fu, porque da mesa toda, ele é o único que está prestando atenção em tudo, para ser capaz de prover a Vida Kung Fu. Agora, se o Si Fu está ali só para comer, ele tem que dividir a conta também.." - Disse Si Gung.

Si Gung ended his speech by commenting on the importance of asking ourselves if "we have the stomach" to perform this function.
Those were words that touched me, and along with others I heard in the early hours of the Seminar, they made me reflect a lot not only on the work I have been doing. But mostly, about the way I do this work.
"... You pay dinner for your Si Fu, because of the whole table, he is the one who is paying attention to everything, to be able to provide Kung Fu Life. Now, if Si Fu is just there to eat , he has to pay the bill too .. "- Said Si Gung.
