PEREIRA: A SECRET VIDEO TRAINNING THE GWAAN (Pereira: Vídeo esquecido praticando o bastão!)

(Doing the 6 points and a half sequence at some beach in west zone of Rio)

The level of Ving Tsun wich I wanted most to practice after the Mui Fa Jong , was the " Luk Din Bun Gwaan " no doubt  about it ! I've always been fascinated by the use of different types of poles , and the length of the pole fromVing Tsun always puzzled me about its use .
Unfortunately when I started at this level in 2007 , I hurt my knee very bad ! As I reported in the historic first  post of this BLOG " THE CURSE OF KWAN " . I kept moving forward ,as Johnny Walker told us, but I believe that I could never enjoy one hundred percent due to this injury that plagues me to this day . But even that way , I saw no reason to interest me less , and I was always looking for stories and passages that take me to understand the use of Luk Din Bun Gwaan ...
Thus , in 2010 , within my understanding  at the time , I did a mega - special post about  Ving Tsun Long Pole , here at Peartree´s Blog ! Telling my stories , and Si Taai Gung Moy Yat's stories about using the Gwaan. With videos , photos and draws . You can check out the full special HERE .
(Thats me and Si Sok Diego during a demo at Si Fu´s birthday celeb. in 2004)

The person who accompanied me and Vlad in our sessions of Luk Din Bun Gwaan throughout the level was Si Sok Diego Guadelupe ( photo ) . He was already practicing this level for 4 years when we started , and his help and motivation was essential during this which is a most challenging level if it is taken seriously .
Once in 2008 , Si Fu left us alone practicing . Si Sok who was leading that session ,  had bought a new cell phone , and suggested that we record my practice of " Biu Gwaan " which means  "Trusting Pole ." Which is actually the only attacking move of Luk Din Bun Gwaan .
After years , this video was recovered , and I bring it to you now !
I always avoid exposing videos of techniques, because it , as well as photos , are frozen in time , and do not represent the context or the evolution of the practitioner . But this video has more the character of a memory of that incredible moment than anything else ... I hope you enjoy clicking below !

Next weekend, Si Gung (photo) will coordinate two meetings: one about the Luk Din Bun Gwaan and other about Baat Jaam Do.Si Sok Diego(photo) will be present, as well as other senior members of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun in Rio de Janeiro!
