Voltamos como prometido com a segunda parte do trabalho de desvendar a nomeclatura e os ideogramas do Ving Tsun, tendo como fonte todos os ideogramas e termos levantados por Si sok Leonardo Mordente (www.seteinstrumentos.blogspot.com) e tentando explicá-los segundo o que ouvi de Si Fu ao longo dos anos.
We're back as promised with the second part of this study uncovering names and ideograms of Ving Tsun, our names and ideograms source is Si Sok Leonardo Mordente (www.seteinstrumentos.blogspot.com) and I try to explain them the way I've been hearing from my Si Fu through the years.
Hoje, será uma oportunidade muito especial, pois se da última vez falamos apenas da ala masculina da Família, hoje falaremos da feminina. E a representação máxima dentro da Família Kung Fu, é a Si Mo:
Today, I'll have a special opportunity of completing the family terms with the feminines counterparts. The main representation in the Kung Fu Family is the Si Mo:
O "si" de Si Mo continua sendo o mesmo de : Si Fu, Si Hing e Si Dai como vimos anteriormente.
Que pode querer dizer "alguém que sabe um pouco mais do que você."
The "Si" is the same that saw before: Si Fu, Si Hing, Si Dai, etc.
Which means "someone who knows a little more than you."
mas o "Mo" de Si Mo, não poderia ter significado mais especial:
But the "Mo" couldn't have a more special meaning than this:
"Mo" significa literalmente : "Mãe".
"Mo" means literaly "Mother."
Que sorte a nossa de termos além de tudo um "pai" e uma "Mãe" Kung Fu.
No caso de minha Família Kung Fu, meu Si Fu se dedica apenas a transmissão do Sistema Ving Tsun aos seus discípulos e aos discípulos de seu Si Fu que residem no Rio. Assim, muitas vezes

Here in our Kung Fu Family, the Si Fu is the one responsible for transmitting the Kung Fu to his disciples and to his youngers Kung Fu brothers that resides in Rio. So, the Si Fu frequently stays out of his house for more hours than people who decided for a "job" as we commonly know, that makes the Si Mo the one responsible for caring for the Si Fu, so he may be able to fulfill his duties. As usual in classical chinese thinking, the woman's leadership is invisible, but is there. You only have to know how to look for it.
Si Gung costuma brincar dizendo que "Se o homem é o 'cabeça' da Família, a mulher é o pescoço.Pois controla para onde a cabeça olha,sem a cabeça perceber."
Si Gung usually jokes saying that "If the man is the head of the family, the woman is the neck, as it decides where the head will look without letting the head know."
Eu mesmo muitas vezes já estive na casa de meu Si fu em momentos inoportunos para sua Família para conversar sobre algo importante para mim, e somente o ideograma "Mo" para simbolizar a gentileza da Si Mo em me receber nestes momentos.
Personally, I've been many times at my Si Fu's home in order to ask about somethings that were really important to me, and at some moments I may have been really "invasive", so only the "Mo" ideogram is able to describe Si Mo's kindness in recieving me on these moments.

Pouca gente lembra da Si Mo quando se fala em Kung Fu(não apenas Ving Tsun).
A Si Mo é a esposa do Si fu, e recebe esta referência mesmo que nunca tenha treinado(Si Mo Daniela já treinou). Porém, se uma mulher treinou e já possui todos os requisitos para liderar uma Família Kung Fu, é diferente, ela não será Si Mo, e sim Si Fu.
Important Note:
Not many people remember the Si Mo when talking about Kung Fu (not only Ving Tsun).
The Si Mo is the Si Fu's wife and is referred to in this way even though she never trained before (Si Mo Daniela already trained). But if a woman already trained and is fully able to lead a Kung Fu Family she won't be a Si Mo, but a Si Fu.
O Clã Moy Yat Sang aguarda ansioso o dia em que Si Sok Ursula receberá o seu Jiu Pai de seu
Si Fu. E nessa data, ela se tornará Si Fu (caso queira estabelecer sua Família Kung Fu),porém, seu marido Ricardo não será chamado de Si Mo(agora que você conhece os ideogramas fica óbvio). Ele poderá ser chamado de Sing Sang(先生)[que pode ser traduzido apenas como "senhor"].
Moy Yat Sang Clan anxiously waits for the day when Si Sok Ursula will recieve her Jiu Pai from her Si Fu. From this day on, she will be Si Fu (if she decides to have a family), but her husband Ricardo won't be called Si Mo (that's obvious now that you know the ideograms). He may be called Sing Sang [that may be translated as "sir"]

Si fu, não é um termo com gênero definido, ele será atribuído também a mulher que reunir as condições para transmitir o Ving Tsun as futuras gerações sob reconhecimento de seu Si Fu.
So, Si Fu is not a term with gender definition, he will be used when a woman meet the requisites in order to transmit Ving Tsun to the coming generations under the recognition of her Si Fu.
Quando o Si Fu for homem, sua esposa estará na condição de Si Mo. (podemos colocar "Si Fu" e "Si Mo" neste caso como títulos atribuidos a eles, para facilitar a compreensão).
When we have a male Si Fu, his wife will be known as Si Mo.( We can see "Si Fu" and "Si Mo" as titles given to then)
Porém quando o Si Fu for mulher, seu marido será tratado como Sing Sang(先生), mas apenas como forma de respeito. Sing Sang(先生) Não é um termo com conotação de "Título" como Si Fu e Si Mo.
But when we have a female Si Fu, her husband will be known as Sing Sang but only to express respect. Sing Sang doesn't carry a "Title" notion, like Si Fu and Si Mo.

Mas o "Je" , significa "irmã mais velha".

The "Si" is our old fellow!
But "Je" means "older sister."
A condição da Si Je dentro da Família Kung Fu é exatamente a mesma que a do Si Hing.
Se você tem uma praticante que ingressou antes de você na Família Kung Fu, esta é sua Si Je. E a tratando assim, caberá a ela zelar pelo seu Kung Fu.
The Si Je's conditions inside the Kung Fu Family, is the same as the Si Hing.
If there is a female practitioner that entered the family before you, she will be your Si Je, and will have to care for your Kung Fu.
Agora, com relação ao uso de Si Hing e Si je, uma rápida história de dois praticantes de nosso Clã, que ouvi em 2000 na minha primeira passagem de nível e nunca mais esqueci:
Now, related to Si Hing and Si Je, a remember a quick story about two practitioners from our Clan that I heard in 2000, when I started Cham Kiu.
"Os dois eram muito amigos, e o mais antigo virou para o mais novo e disse: Ah! Não precisa me chamar de Si Hing, pode me chamar pelo nome, somos amigos. O praticante mais novo respondeu: Eu prefiro te chamar de Si Hing para que você nunca esqueça a responsabilidade que tem comigo."
Both boys were long time friends, the older said to the younger: "Ah, there is no need for you to call me Si Hing, we're friends!" The younger replied: "But I will always call you Si Hing, so you'll remember your responsibility."
Esta história me tocou profundamente e até hoje a carrego.
I felt touched by this story and never forgot this.

Você vai se referir a sua IRMÃ Kung Fu mais nova como Si Mui. Pois "Mui" é o ideograma de "irmã mais nova".

Now, if you thought that "younger kung fu sister" was also called "Si Dai", you're wrong!Your younger kung fu sister is called "Si Mui". "Mui" means "younger sister".Si Mui's situation in the family is just the same as the Si Dai.
