CENAS MARCANTES DE KUNG FU NA NOVELA "WING CHUN" (Memorable KUNG FU scenes from "WING CHUN 2007" soup-opera)

Como disse aqui em um post anterior , se minha novela favorita até hoje foi a saudosa "Quatro por Quatro", ela agora achou uma rival a altura..rsrs

A novela "WING CHUN" de 2007(REVIEW AQUI) que estou assistindo cada vez mais me impressiona. Claro, que é muito bom poder assistir algo sobre um tema tão específico que você vivencia, porém é mais do que isso: é uma novela que não trata de luta, treinamentos especiais,etc... e sim , das relações humanas...

I said once that my favorite soup-opera of all time was "4 por 4", a brazilian soup-opera from 1994 about the love between the mechanic Raí and the hairdresser Babalu(photo). But now "4 por 4" has a big rival in my heart. I´m talking about "WING CHUN"(aka Yong Chun)[REVIEW HERE]. A chinese soup-opera from 2007 about the Ving Tsun Kuen.

This soup-opera is great 'cause its not just about fight and fight all the time, its principally about relashionships. Relashionships between father and son, between brothers, between man and woman, between friends, between master and disciple and of course: between people.

Algo que é muito interessante, é que quando a pessoa se interessa por uma arte marcial pensando em defesa pessoal, ela se esquece de quantas foram as raíssimas vezes que ela teve que "lutar fisicamente" em sua vida, e não percebe que com a arte marcial acaba se ganhando uma outra utilidade que não a mera pancadaria, e a novela é sobre isso. Para haver uma luta na novela, tem-se que exagerar pq se não, seria o dia-a-dia de pessoas como nós...

Something that is very interesting is that when someone wants to play some martial art, this person just thinks about "self-defense" but this same person forgets that in his entire life, the time that he or she had been trough some "physical-fight" was just a little or none. So nowadays, the martial arts has another importance, we can use it daily in our lives, and the soup-opera shows that.

Its very funny 'cause the fight scenes just happens in exaggerated situations, but you can see the Kung Fu there all the time...

Uma das cenas mais simples e maravilhosas que assisti foi essa.
A esquerda temos Chan Wah Shun e a direita Leung Jaan.
Na história do Ving Tsun, Chan Wah Shun aprendeu de Leung Jaan e passou os conhecimentos a Ip Man e mais 15 discipulos.

One of my favorite scenes 'till now, is also a very simple scene:

In the left side of the photo above, we see Chan Wah Shun that in Ving Tsun genealogy had learned from Leung Jaan (in the right on the photo above).

Na novela, Chan Wah Shun é filho de um rico banqueiro e como adora artes marciais, faz de tudo para que Leung Jaan o aceite como discípulo, mas ainda que Leung Jaan relute, Chan Wah Shun não deixa de segui-lo:

In this soup-opera, Chan Wha Shun is son of a rich banker from Beijing and loves martial arts, and he does everything to become a disciple of Leung Jaan. But Leung Jaan (yuen Biao) always rehects him. But even this way, he keeps following Leung Jaan...

Nesta cena os dois estão colhendo ervas medicinais e Leung Jaan pergunta:

-Jau Chin Wah*?
-Sim ? - responde Chan Wah Shun
-Você gosta de ervas medicinais?
-Não senhor.
-Mas você conhece ervas medicinais?
-Não.
-Então pra que você veio? - pergunta Leung Jaan surpreso.
-Para estar com o senhor.
-Você é um chato. - diz Leung Jaan de maneira divertida.

*Jau Chin Wah é o apelido de Chan Wah Shun : "Wah , "trocador de dinheiro"". Sua historia ja foi contada

In this scene, Leung Jaan went to collect some medicinal herbs and Chan Wah Shun followed him. So Leung Jaan asked him:

-Jau Chin Wah *

-Hi?

-Do you like medicinal herbs?

-No - He answered.

-Do you know medicinal herbs?

-No.

-So, why are you here?

-Just to stay a little with you - Chan Wah Shun said.

-You are stubborn!

*Jau Chin Wah was the nickname of Chan Wah Shun that means "Wah the money changer".

Para um praticante se tornar discípulo de um Si Fu, este Si Fu deve tomar o chá oferecido pelo praticante de joelhos.
Nesta cena, Leung Bik(filho mais velho de Leung Jaan) oferece o chá a Wong Wah Bo(que na novela é mestre de seu pai) nesta cerimônia chamada Baai Si.

When someone wants to become a disciple of a Si Fu, he must offer tea standing on his knees and the Si Fu must drink it.

In this scene, Leung Bik(Nicolas Tse), son of Leung Jaan(Yuen Biao) offers tea to his father´s Si Fu, Wong Wah Bo (Sammo Hung) in this ceremony called Baai Si.

Quando Leung Bik oferece o chá, já o chama de "Si Fu", mas Wong Wah Bo diz após tomá-lo:
When Leung Bik offers the teapot already says "Si Fu", but Wong Wah Bo says after drink it:

-Bik, eu sou o Si Fu de seu pai, não fica bem você me chamar de "Si Fu". Eu vou apenas lhe ensinar o Ving Tsun no lugar de seu pai, me chame de "Si Gung"*
-Si Gung! - diz Leung Bik.

-Bik , I´m your father´s Si Fu. It is not good for us you calling me Si Fu. I´ll just teach you for your father, so call me "Si Gung."

-Si Gung! - said Leung Bik.

A direita vemos Cai(lê-se "Tsai") fiel "servo" de Leung Jaan. Isso porque, o pai de Cai, agradecido ao pai de Leung Jaan, fez Cai prometer antes dele morrer que ele e todos os descendentes de sua Família serviriam a Família Leung como forma de gratidão, e Cai leva isso as ultimas consequencias para não desonrar seu pai.

In the right you see Cai (you pronunciate "Tsai") a servant of Leung Jaan(left). Thats because Cai´s father before die, make him promise to be loyal to Leung Family 'till the end of the times, to thanks Leung Jaan´s father for save his life. Cai does not want to let his father down, so he keeps the promise.

Cai havia tido dois filhos: Tofu e "Pequena cabeça de pão"[Xiao Mian Tou - me corrijam se eu ouço errado na novela] (em inglês "pão-de-forma") (!!!!!)
Leung Jaan queria deixá-lo livre de sua obrigação, mas Cai não aceitou. Assim Leung Jaan usou de seu Kung Fu para fazê-lo:

Cai had two children: Tofu and Bun or "Little bread head" [Xiao Mian Tou - correct me if I listened that wrong] (!!!!)

Leung Jaan wants to free him and his family of the promise, but Cai would not accept that. So Leung Jaan use his martial intelligence to make him agree:

-Cai , o que achou deste lugar? - pergunta Leung Jaan a esquerda nesta cena.
-Muito bonito "Lao ye"*!
-Eu comprei este restaurante ontem.
-Que bom Lao ye!
-Eu queria que você gerenciasse para mim.
-Não posso aceitar Lao Ye, não mesmo! - respondeu Cai.
-Mas quem disse que eu estou dando pra você? - perguntou Leung Jaan sorrindo.
- ...................................
-Estou dando para seus filhos para que eles sejam os donos quando crescerem. Ou você quer que eles cresçam e sirvam minha Familia também?

Cai foi obrigado a aceitar.

-What do you think about this place Cai? - asked Leung Jaan

-Very beautiful Lao Ye*!

-I bought this place yesterday!

-Lao Ye!

-I would like you to manage this.

-I can not accpet that Lao ye! Please! - said Cai.

-But who said that I´m giving it to you? - asked the smart Leung Jaan.

-..........................................

-I´m giving that to your children. Or do you want to have them working for me too?

Cai had to accept.

Nice strategy from Leung Jaan!

*Lao Ye é uma expressão para se dirigir a um "Velho Senhor"[Lao-velho e Ye-senhor]. Chamar alguém de "Lao" é chamá-lo de "sábio" ainda que a pessoa seja joevm. Como em "Lao Da" que é uma expressão muito usada em gangues e grupos de jovens onde "Lao" é velho, e "Da" é "maior" e designa o líder.  Ou no caso do sábio do Taoísmo
"Lao Zi"(老子) (chamado aqui de Lao Tse):

*Lao Ye is an expression for use when you are talking to an "Old Lord" [Lao - old , Ye -Lord]. Call someone by "Lao" before the name, has the same meaning as you consider this person as someone wised.Even if this person is young.  In groups or gangs of young men , the leader is called "Lao Da" [Da means "big"] or in Taosim when you have the great "Lao Zi"(老子) called in West as "Lao Tse":

Lao(老) - Velho (OLD)
Zi (子) - Criança. (Child)

Ou seja, ainda que Lao Zi fosse um sábio(lao 老) ele mantinha sua eterna "inocência"(zi 子) ou "Humildade"(zi 子) tendo em vista que "Zi"(子) também significa "semente" ou "coisa pequena" além de "criança"...

That meand that even Lao Zi being such a wised man (lao 老) he keeps his innocence(zi 子)

Mas você realmente será um "Mestre" quando alguém o considerá-lo um Xia Da Tou (下大头)*

But you will be a real "Master" when someone consider you a Xia Da Tou (下大头)*

xia- (下) : significa "embaixo" , "abaixo" [means "under", "Below"]
da(大): significa "grande"  [means "Big" ]
Tou(头) significa "cabeça". [means "head"]

Estranho não?
"Da Tou"(大头) significa "cabeção" literalmente ..rs Mas em chinês é visto também como "Líder", o "cabeça do grupo" , como em JiaDaTou(家大头) que significa "chefe de Família" o "cabeção da família"...
Portanto, quando te chamarem de "Cabeção" na escola, tome como elogio..rs

Weird? Not so.

"Da Tou"(大头)  means "big head" literally..lol  But in chinese , being the "big head" is the same as being the "Leader" like in JiaDaTou(家大头) that means "Family´s big head" or the "Father", "the leader of the family"...

So, when someone call you "Big head" give a smile to this person...
o Xia(下) que significa "embaixo" é muito interessante pois diz que esse "Da Tou"(大头) não é um "Da Tou"(大头) comum. Ele "age discretamente", sem "Ninguém perceber". Ele comanda, organiza "por baixo da terra" , sem chamar a atenção...
Por isso que Xia Da Tou (下大头) é um termo que designa uma pessoa de alta habilidade. Lembrando que Xia Da Tou (下大头) é a pronuncia em mandarim, em cantonês se não me engano seria "Haa Daai Tao".

The Xia(下) wich means "under" is very interesting 'cause it says that this "Da Tou"(大头)[leader] is not just a regular "Da Tou"(大头). he is a Xia Da Tou (下大头) , he is a leader that "Moves without any one see him" , he makes the things happens "under the ground" , when you see it is already there. Thats a Xia Da Tou (下大头).

Leung Chun(a direita) é o filho mais novo de Leung Jaan. Ele de fato existiu e acredita-se (assim como é mostrado na novela) que ele assumiu os negócios da Família relacionados a medicina e não estudou o Ving Tsun.

Leung Chun(right) is the younger son of Leung Jaan. He lived in real world , but the Ving Tsun genealogy says that he did not learned Ving Tsun, just became a very good medic like his father. In the soup-opera, He went to Hong Kong to study western medicine and finds his father´s Si Fu but he does not know that.

Leung Chun vai para Hong Kong estudar medicina ocidental, e acaba conhecendo seu Si Gung (Wong Wah Bo a esquerda) mas não sabe. Leung Chun se depara com uma pessoa com reumatismo no pulso, e não consegue ajudá-la. Conversando com Wong Wah Bo, ele diz que pode ajudar. Leung Chun não acredita pois já havia estudado vários livros.
Advinha o que Wong Wah Bo faz?
ensina a ele a primeira parte do Siu Nim Tau... hahahahaha

He wants to help a person that suffers with reumatism in his fist, so Wong Wah Bo says that he can help Leung Chun to find a solution. Leung Chun was curious 'cause he had read many books and did not find nothing. So Guess what?

a novela é completamente recheada destes momentos que fazem as lutas parecerem quase que desnecessárias a trama, mas elas estão lá também!

O Blog do Pereira faz essa homenagem especial , pois ontem foi comemorado o aniversário de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat.

Nascido em 1938, Grão-Mestre Moy Yat preferia comemorar seu aniversário no dia 28 de Junho por motivos auspiciosos.

The Peartree´s Blog brings this little tribute 'cause yesterday was the birthday of Later Grande-Master Moy Yat. 

Born in 1938, he used to prefer celebrate his birthday in June,28 for goodlucky reasons.

Meu Si Fu, Mestre Julio Camacho(esquerda) teve algumas dificuldades para acompanhar Si Gung até os EUA pela primeira vez. Quando chegou, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat falou que ele deveria então voltar todos os anos, e assim ele o fez.

My Si Fu, Master Julio Camacho 11G VT(left) had some problems to travel for the first time to US with Si Gung Leo Imamura(10G VT). When he was there, Si taai Gung Moy Yat asked him to come back every year.And he did it.

Si Fu acompanhou seu Si Fu(meu Si Gung) em várias dessas viagens. Nessas ocasiões ele sempre foi muito bem recebido pelos Si Baak Gungs. Como Si Baak Gung Miguel Hernandez...

Si Fu followed his Si Fu(my Si Gung) in many trips to US. In this trips he always was very well welcome by Si Baak Gungs like Si Baak Gung Miguel...

Os aniversários de Si Taai Gung eram a grande oportunidade para a Família Kung Fu do mundo todo se reunir.

Minha mãe disse que ficou idêntico, mas na época eu tinha acabado de comprar meu DVD do Top Gun. 

E achei que ficou um pouco parecido com o Tom Cruise... mas só de leve...

My mother said that is a piece of work and was the same as me!

But at the time I was just bought my TOP GUNG DVD and I think that this draw remember me, just a litlle Tom Cruise... I dont know... what do you think?

ÚLTIMAS DA UNIDADE MÉIER (MÉIER STUDIO LATEST NEWS)

Há algumas semanas na Unidade Méier reunimos todos os praticantes do local para um evento um pouco mais descontraído. Tratava-se de um mini-torneio onde o vencedor não precisaria participar do "rateio" do lanche que fariamos ao final.

As regras foram estabelecidas de modo que acidentes fossem evitados e que todos tivessem chances parecidas.

Some weeks ago, at MYVT Meier Studio we gathered ouserlves for a "Mini-torunament" wich the winner would not pay the bill of the meal that we were going to order.

The rules were made in a way to avoid accidents and make all the fellas have fun.

Guilherme e Rodrigo se enfrentaram. 

Guilherme(12G VT) and Rodrigo(12G VT) face each other.

Pra variar, Felipe(esq.) estava sem uniforme e me ajudava na arbitragem. Ao fundo vemos Rapha(cabelos grandes) dando dicas para seu Si Hing Guilherme no intervalo. Isso porque quem não participava da "Luta" ficava de "técnico".

Felipe(12G VT) dressing black, supported me as a assistent refree before fight. In the background the shortest one , is Raphael(12G VT) supporting his Si Hing Guilherme(12G VT) as his coach. 

The fellas that were not fightng support the others.

Lucas Eustáquio(dir.)  era o técnico de seu Si Hing Rodrigo Demetrio.

Guilherme ajuda Felipe a colocar o equipamento de segurança para a grande final com Rodrigo Demetrio.

Ao final uma parte do grupo reorganizou a sala que usamos, outra parte arrumou as mesas e cadeiras para sentarmos e outra correu no Habib´s mais próximo para comprar o lanche.

Na Unidade Méier estamos locados dentro de um outro espaço, por isso muitas vezes a "Vida Kung Fu" não flui tão naturalmente quanto no Mo Gun. O fato da faixa-etária por lá ser relativamente baixa, contrinbui para isso também.

Portanto sempre que possível tentamos proporcionar esse tipo de momento que pode parecer simples a primeira vista mas que é onde o Kung Fu além das técnicas vai surgindo e os laços se estreitando.

In the end, we order some arabian fast food!

In Meier Studio, we are located inside a dance school, so we cannot have the "Kung fu life" in a natural way as in our Mo Gun in Barra da Tijuca neighborhood. So this kind of moment is important to feel the kung fu without use the techniques and to feel the links between the fellas rasing up.

At Rio Branch in Barra neighborhood the trainning of the young ones follows with lot of fun!

Ao final sempre é importante ouvir o que os "Siu Ye " acharam das atividades.
Is important to hear them in the end of the classes. Thats me , Luana and Mauricio.

A HISTÓRIA DE MOY YAT (MOY YAT´S STORY)

Reencontrei um grande amigo de infância há duas semanas, depois de um dia de treino na Unidade Méier.Ele se chama Bruno.

Estavamos eu e um outro grande amigo Marcelo numa partida mortal de "Call of Duty" em sua casa numa Sexta a noite quando Bruno chegou. Ele é fanático por artes marciais e já treinou tudo que se possa imaginar. Bruno ficou muito empolgado com o fato de eu praticar Ving Tsun: "Pereira,pra mim, o que eu mais respeito é Muay Thai,Jiu Jitsu e Ving Tsun"...

Na hora de nos despedirmos já no portão apertei a mão dele e do Marcelo e Bruno me diz: "...Vamos marcar de fazer um sparring ou alguma coisa assim... Você treina com o Imamura?"

E então eu expliquei que eu sou discípulo de um dos principais discípulos dele, seu representante no Rio de Janeiro:Mestre Julio Camacho.

I met an old friend from school two weeks ago when I was playing some game in another firend´s house.
Bruno arrived and when we started to talk he liked very much to hear that I´m a Ving Tsun Parctitioner:
"Pereira, I have to say that I only respect : Jiu Jitsu,Muay Thai and Ving Tsun."
Bruno had trained a lot of martial arts, and surprised me saying that.

When I was in front of the house saying goodbye to everyone, he said: "Lets meet sometime to do some sparring.... Hey! Imamura is your teacher?"

I said that I was a student of one of his main disciples: Master Julio Camacho 11G VT.

But I tought that was very funny to hear a friend that I did not meet since 1995 talking about my Si Gung Leo(10G VT) in a neighborhood in the middle of nowhere in Rio de Janeiro.


Eu fui andando até o ponto de ônibus nas escuras ruas de Rocha Miranda pensando o quão engraçado é ouvir um amigo que eu não via desde 1995 , onde na ultima vez que nos vimos com certeza estavamos trocando figurinhas dos Cavaleiros do Zodiaco, perguntar pelo meu Si Gung numa rua de um bairro que ninguém conhece entre Turiaçu e Coelho Neto...

E pensei também no longo caminho que o Ving Tsun de nosso Clã fez até ali.
Por isso hoje, vamos fazer uma postagem muito especial, contando um pouco da história de grão-Mestre Moy Yat baseado na obra genial do também genial Si Sok Leonardo Mordente: "O LIVRO DE PEDRA DO VING TSUN"...

I was walking to the bus stop on the streets of Rocha Miranda, and tought about the way of the Ving Tsun since Si Taai Gung Moy Yat in Hong Kong untill my friend... I think that was very funny.

So I decided to talk about Si Taai Gung Moy Yat's story....Lets know a little bit this way...

A HISTÓRIA DE MOY YAT (MOY YAT´S STORY)

baseada em relatos de Si Fu Julio Camacho e no livro de Si Sok Leonardo Mordente de Belo Horizonte.

   based in talks with my Si Fu Julio Camacho(11G VT) and in the book by Si Sok Leo Mordente(11G VT).

Si Taai Gung nasceu numa aldeia chamada Yau Gam na província de Kwong Tang.

Apesar de ser chamado "Moy Yat" , esse "Yat" na pronúncia do distritro de Toi Shan, onde ficava essa aldeia é "Yit". Por isso o nome de Si Taai Gung é "Moy Yit Kai"

Para obras de artes de sua autoria ele assinava "Moy Go Yan".

"Go Yan" na verdade era uma brincadeira que Si Taai Gung fazia consigo mesmo, já que para os padrões chineses de sua época ele era muito alto e magro. Razão pela qual algumas pessoas chegaram a caçoar dele...

高 "Go" - significa "alto"
人 "Yan" - significa "pessoa"

Portanto "go yan"(高人) tanto pode ser "pessoa alta" no sentido de altura, quanto "pessoa elevada" , "tipo de pessoa elevada". Assim sendo, tratava-se de um trocadilho onde ao mesmo tempo que fazia graça com sua altura, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat falava de sua própria capacidade como artista.

Si Taai Gung was born in a village called Yau Gam, province of Kwong Tang.
Despite being called "Moy Yat," this "Yat" in the pronunciation of the district of Toi Shan, where it was this village is "Yit". Hence the name Si Gung Taai is "Moy Yit Kai"
For works of art of his own, he signed "Moy Go Yan."
"Go Yan" was actually a joke that Si Taai Gung did to himself, as Chinese standards of his time he was very tall and thin. and thats also Why some people get to make fun of him ...
 

高 "Go" - means "high"

人 "Yan" - means "person"

So, "go yan"(高人) at the same time that means "a person that is tall" , also means a "high person"... Si Taai Gung at the same time that was doing a joke to himself called him "tall person" was also talking about his high capacities as an artist and human being.

Um dos presentes dados ao Mo Gun de meu Si Fu por Si Taai Gung Moy yat ainda nos anos 90, foi esse quadro pendurado na parede do antigo Núcleo da Estrada do Tindiba.

One of the gifts that Si Taai Gung Moy Yat gave to our Mo Gun is that picture hanged on the wall.

Anos depois, em sua ultima visita ao nosso Mo Gun ele foi fotografado em frente ao quadro. Repare no detalhe em amarelo onde vemos a assinatura "Go Yan"(高人).

O início do aprendizado de Ving Tsun de Si Taai Gung se deu no Mo Gun da Lee Cheng Uk estate. Um conjunto habitacional paupérrimo com pouquissimo espaço e e sem condições básicas de saneamento.

His beggining in Ving Tsun was in Lee Cheng UK Estate Mo Gun. A very poor place with no sanitary basic conditions.

Sobre esta época,Si Taai Gung Moy Yat contou certa vez que o espaço era tão restrito que não cabiam todos os praticantes fazendo Chi Sau ao mesmo tempo.Por isso, enquanto algumas duplas treinavam outros ficavam encostados na parede para não ocupar espaço ou sentados espremidos em algum corner da sala.

Como todo Mo Gun, sempre tinham aqueles carinhas que "baixavam o sarrafo" como diria meu avô Carlos, nos companheiros enquanto praticavam. Ou seja: "Desciam a lenha"...

About this period, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat said once that was so many people and the place was so small, that the students could not do the Chi Sau at the same time. While some partners were trainning, some other fellas wait in the cornes to not ocupy space in the room.

As every Mo Gun, always had someone that "hit" the fellas harder.

Grão-Mestre Moy Yat observou que se ele "deixasse que o golpeassem" todos iriam querer fazer Chi Sau com ele. Afinal, se você é um cara que gosta de bater, por que não praticar com alguém que "só apanha"...

Na verdade o plano de grão-Mestre Moy Yat, era praticar o maior número de vezes possível fazendo seus companheiros acreditarem que ele era fácil de bater. 

Vez ou outra ele entrava e acertava, mas nada que chamasse a atenção para si...

E talvez tenha sido assim também que o conceito de "mobilizar o outro" ou seja "levar o outro a ação" muito comum em nossa Família tenha dado seus primeiros passos.

So Si Taai Gung said that he started to let those guys hit him. 'Cause if you are a person who likes to hit, its better train with someone "easy to hit". So everyone wanted to trainned with Si Taai Gung 'cause they were thinking that he was "easy to hit". Sometimes Si Taai Gung hit too, but very stealth to no one notice his intentions.

His intetions was to train every time. He would never have to wait his turn again, everyone wanted Moy yat.

Discípulo de Ip man, Moy Yat (primeira a esq.) conviveu cerca de 15 anos com seu Si Fu aprendendo a arte do Ving Tsun através do convívio. Método esse que mais tarde ele chamaria de Saam Faat(心法) "Método do Coração", que no ocidente ele denominou "Vida Kung Fu".

Aos 24 anos, Si Taai Gung(sentado ao lado de Ip Man) se tornou o mais jovem Si Fu legitimamente reconhecido. Sua carreira teve inicio em 1962  quando inaugurou um local com um dos nomes que eu acho mais sensacionais:  VING TSUN MOY YAT KIN SAN HOK YUEN: "Instituto de Saúde de Moy Yat do Ving Tsun"

By 24 years old, he became the youngest SI Fu in Ving Tsun lineage. In 1962 his carrer started and the name of the place was very cool: "VING TSUN MOY YAT KIN SAN HOK YUEN (Health Institute of Moy Yat from Ving TSun)

Em 1973 Ip Man faleceu, e como vemos acima, Si Taai Gung participou ativamente do funeral de seu Si Fu.

Si Taai Gung Moy Yat foi então para os EUA onde fundou em parceria com um amigo, um Mo Gun chamado "Ding Lek Mo Gun" onde "Ding Lek" pode ser traduzido como "Poder Descomunal"...

Em 1979 em Chinatown, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat lá se instalou num novo espaço de um prédio. Primeiro no 2º andar e depois no 6º onde permanece até hoje.

Si Taai Gung went to US where he oppened a Mo Gun called "Ding Lek Mo Gun" , where "Ding Lek" means "colossal power".

In 1979 in CHinatown, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat started to teach Ving Tsun in a building.

The place is there till today.

Mais velho, Si Taai Gung Moy Yat retorna ao túmulo de seu Si Fu na companhia do filho do patriarca do Ving Tsun: Ip Ching.

Si Taai Gung went back to Hong Kong to visit his Si Fu´s grave with Ip Man´s son Ip Ching.

Si Taai Gun por muitas vezes chegou a ser acusado de não ensinar o verdadeiro Ving Tsun. Isso porque, ele conduzia os treinos segundo os moldes do pensamento clássico chinês, no qual uma extrema discrição no ensino soa como negligência pedagógica que na veradde é uma apurada e sutil eficácia. Uma manifestação do mais alto grau de maestria onde segundo texto de Si Sok Leonardo Mordente: "...Se espera que os efeitos advenham,mas que seu autor não seja a eles associado...."

Sometimes people said that Moy Yat did not know Ving Tsun indeed, he was a faker.

It was because he teach using the traditional way. He used an extreme discription that looks like pedagogical neglect for a western eyes. But it was the most refined and subtle efficience. A manifestation of the highest degree of mastery that as Si Sok Leonardo Mordent(11G VT)'s text says: "....You wait for the effects os the teaching,but you dont link the results to its author..."

Si Baak Gung Pete é um dos principais discípulos de grão-Mestre Moy Yat. Ele também é muito conhecido exatamente por sua capacidade marcial dentro do Ving Tsun.

Com relação a Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, este exemplo de Si Baak Gung Pete reintera as expressões: Kwong Tak Yeuk Bat Juk "a larga virtude parece insuficiente" ou Tai Bak Yeuk Yuk "A grande candura parece ultraje" - sobre seu método de ensino.

Si Baak Gung Pete is one of the main disciple of Si Taai Gung Moy Yat. He is also known because of his high  martial capacity in Ving Tsun.

So, this example also talks about some sayings like: "Kwong Tak Yeuk Bat Juk" - "the great virtue may seem insufficient" or Tai Bak Yeuk Yuk - "The great candor seems outrage"

Foi em 1997 após 35 anos de carreira que Si Taai Gung Moy Yat se aposentou como Si Fu estando certo de que cumpriu sua parte com relação ao legado do Ving Tsun.

Infelizmente no início dos anos 2000 Si Taai Gung faleceu.

Hoje seu legado continua através das mãos de seus discípulos e dos discípulos dos seus discípulos em várias partes do mundo...

In 1997 , after 35 years he got retired.

Unfortunatelly he passed away in the beggining of this decade. But his legacy keep going on by the hand of his pupils around the world.

Na Cultura Chinesa existem os termos "Man" e "Mo".

O primeiro, ligado a intelectualidade o segundo, ligado ao corporal.

Si Taai Gung Moy Yat escreveu:

"Quando se junta um man pesado com um mo leve, você terá um 'intelectual desviril'. Porém quando se junta um man leve e um mo pesado, você tem um "boi guerreador". Nenhum dos dois parece bom. é sabido que  o importante é atingir capacidade em man e talento em mo. Man e Mo, ambos perfeitos..."

In chinese culture we have "Man" and "Mo"
"man" is connected to intelectual activities and "Mo" to physical activities.

Si Taai Gung Moy Yat once said:

"When you mix a heavy man with a soft mo you will have an intelectual with no power. But when you mix a heavy mo with and soft man, you will have a 'wild bull'. So, none of them seems good. Its important to reach capacity in man and talent in mo. Man e Mo, the two in a perfect way...."

Talvez por fazer brotar em cada um de seus discípulos suas próprias virtudes, sem pender apenas para a parte física do Ving Tsun nem a parte pensada, que hoje seu Ving Tsun é lembrado até mesmo na pequena Rocha Miranda em algum lugar da Zona Norte do Rio...

Maybe 'cause he took out what every disciple had in their hearts without talk only about fight or only about intelectual activities that his Ving Tsun is remembered even in this small neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro called Rocha Miranda.

Devido ao seu renome dentro do Mo Lan(武林) começaram a surgir expoentes do Ving Tsun pelo mundo que se diziam seus discipulos sem que fossem de fato.Si Taai Gung presenteou Si Gung com este busto o qual dentre outras razões assegurava também a legitimidade daquele Mo Gun.

After became renomed in the Mo Lan(武林), a lot of Ving Tsun instructors claimed to be Moy Yat´s disciples. So he gave this statue to Si Gung and some other disciples as (between others things) a symbol that he was indeed a disciple of Moy Yat.

Com o falecimento de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat. Si Taai Po Helen tornou-se a pessoa mais importante dentro de todo o Clã Moy Yat.
When Si Taai Gung passed away, Si Taai Po Helen became the most important person in all Moy Yat Clan.

Si Sok reside em Belo Horizonte e é formado bacharel em Letras UFMG. Iniciou sua prática no Ving Tsun em 1993 e é um dos principais discípulos de Mestre Leo Imamura.

He studied portuguese in the Minas Gerais State University in Belo Horizonte.

He started in Ving Tsun in 1993 and is one of the main disicples of Si Gung Leo Imamura.

Si Sok Leonardo Mordente(centro) esteve na China e Hong Kong ano passado com a comitiva do Clã Moy Yat a fim de levantar registros com o objetivo de lançar um dos maiores projetos históricos do Ving Tsun.

Seu conhecimento da língua e cultura chinesa somente são superados pelo carinho que seu Si Hing e meu Si Fu Julio Camacho(esq.) tem por ele assim como nós.

He(middle) was in China and Hong Kong last year with Moy Yat Clan for a project about Ving tsun history.

His knowlegde about chinese language is just surpassed by the love that his Si Hing and my Si Fu Julio Camacho(left) feels for him as we do.
