Houveram épocas em que eu mal podia esperar pelo momento em que estaria no Mo Gun. Si Fu estava sempre por lá em diferentes horários do dia, saíamos para almoçar, jantar, e também podia contar com a presença de irmãos Kung Fu que se tornaram também algumas das minhas companhias favoritas... Paula Gama, Phelipe Pita, Gil Batista[Que ria de tudo] e tantos outros... Em outros momentos nas tardes de Quinta, tinham as filhas da Paula: A Anna e a Adda, que estavam acessando o 'Biu Ji' e que eu pude acompanhar desde o início auxiliando o Si Fu. Alguns anos depois, tinham os cafés da manhã no posto de gasolina com Si Fu, Thiago Silva e Carlos Antunes... Quando acabavamos íamos para o Mo Gun do outro lado da rua, que enchia bastante aos Sábados... Aqueles eram os dias de altas aventuras, que me faziam querer estar no Mo Gun vivendo aqueles momentos... 

Precisei errar muito, para que na última Sexta-feira tivéssemos um momento leve e divertido. Eu havia me comprometido com isso para esse ano, e nossa Celebração de Ano Novo desse ano, foi um primeiro passo importante...

There were times when I couldn't wait for the moment when I would be in Mo Gun. Si Fu was always there at different times of the day, we went out for lunch, dinner, and I could also count on the presence of Kung Fu brothers who also became some of my favorite companies... Paula Gama, Phelipe Pita, Gil Batista[ Who laughed at everything] and so many others... At other times on Thursday afternoons, there were Paula's daughters Anna and Adda,  who were accessing the 'Biu Ji' and that I was able to follow from the beginning helping Si Fu. A few years later, we used to have breakfast at the gas station with Si Fu, Thiago Silva and Carlos Antunes... When we finished we went to the Mo Gun across the street, which was very crowded on Saturdays... Those were the days of high adventures, that made me want to be in Mo Gun living those moments...

I had to make a lot of mistakes, so that last Friday we had a light and fun moment. I had committed to this for this year, and our New Year Celebration this year was an important first step...

Todos trabalharam com afinco e sem alarde, antes da celebração, para que no momento desta pudéssemos apenas curtir. Quando a noite começou, tive uma verdadeira aula sobre a apreciação de charutos com o meu aluno Ribeiro[A direita na foto acima]. Ribeiro costuma sempre ter um conhecimento a ser compartilhado, e eu gosto de ouvir. Também estiveram presentes o Pedro[no centro da foto] e seu filho Paulo Vitor. Paulo Vitor tem demonstrado uma animação inabalável pela prática do Ving Tsun, e seu pai Pedro o apóia incondicionalmente, assim como sua mãe. Observar o Paulo, me faz lembrar de quando minha mãe fazia o mesmo por mim na época do Judo. Com ou sem dinheiro, com ou sem chuva, eu queria apenas ir praticar, e minha mãe ia comigo. 

Everyone worked hard without making it a big thing, before the celebration, so that at the time of celebration we could just enjoy. As the evening began, I had a real class on cigar appreciation with my student Ribeiro[Right in the photo above]. Ribeiro usually always has knowledge to share, and I like to listen. Pedro [in the center of the photo] and his son Paulo Vitor were also present. Paulo Vitor has demonstrated an unshakable enthusiasm for the practice of Ving Tsun, and his father Pedro supports him unconditionally, as well as his mother. Observing Paulo reminds me of when my mother did the same for me in the Judo era. Money or no money, rain or no rain, I just wanted to go practice, and my mother went with me.

Tivemos presentes também o pequeno João, sua avó e sua mãe. O João é tão animado quanto o Paulo, porém ele vai além: Ele vai até algum Si Hing e pergunta porque ele nunca mais participou da aula dele. É bem divertido. Também tivemos presentes o Cayo que hoje mora bem longe, Matheus que começou bem novinho, e o Luiz Grativol[sorrindo ao fundo]. Luiz trouxe sua amiga de infância de Mangaratiba para o evento. E isso para mim é especial, pois mostra que o praticante julga o evento e o momento importantes o suficiente, para convidar alguém para compartilhar. 

We also had present there little João, his grandmother and his mother. João is as excited as Paulo, but he goes further: He goes to some Si Hing and asks why he never participated in his class again. It's pretty fun. We also had Cayo present who now lives far away, Matheus who started very young, and Luiz Grativol [smiling in the background]. Luiz brought his childhood friend from Mangaratiba Island[Where Stallone shooted 'Expendables'] to the event. And that for me is special, because it shows that the practitioner considers the event and the moment important enough to invite someone to share.

Um dos meus alunos mais antigos, Rodrigo Caputo, levou uma caixa de som portátil e como eu sou o Si Fu, obriguei a todos a ouvirem minha playlist de pop dos anos '80. Deixamos a música tocando baixo ao fundo, e o ambiente estava agradável, as pessoas estavam sorrindo e relaxadas. E foi quando chegou o Sebastião [de blusa amarela ao fundo]. Sebastião vem enfrentando uma série de desafios em sua vida, mas se esforçou para estar presente. São pequenos gestos bem valiosos.

One of my oldest students, Rodrigo Caputo, took a portable sound box and as I am the Si Fu, I made everyone listen to my pop playlist from the 80's. We left the music playing low in the background, and the atmosphere was pleasant, people were smiling and relaxed. And that's when Sebastião arrived [in the yellow shirt in the background]. Sebastião has been facing a series of work and health challenges, but he made an effort to be present. Those moves are very valuable small gestures.

Também estiveram presentes alguns irmãos Kung Fu como Thiago Silva, Rodrigo Moreira[que aparecem na foto acima] e Carlos Antonio. Também pude contar com a presença de alunos do curso de chines como a Carine. E alguns praticantes, trouxeram suas companheiras, como vemos na foto acima, a Thais que é esposa do José Carlos. 

Also present were some Kung Fu brothers such as Thiago Silva, Rodrigo Moreira[who appear in the photo above] and Carlos Antonio. I was also able to count on the presence of students from the Chinese course like Carine. And some practitioners brought their partners, as we can see in the photo above, Thais, who is José Carlos' wife.

Nesse quesito, é muito importante que nós artistas marciais, não sejamos desconectados da sociedade. Precisamos cultivar uma conduta estratégica perante a vida e seus desafios, sem notas de exotismo. Por isso, fiquei bem feliz de receber a Maria que é namorada do Lucas Eustáquio e a Liz, que é namorada do Daniel Eustáquio. A Liz parece ter vencido o premio de melhor prato da noite. Afinal, combinamos de cada pessoa levar um prato e uma bebida, e sua torta de limão estava sendo elogiada até ontem... Além das duas, foi muito surpreendente receber a outra Maria, a irmã do Lucas e do Daniel[de óculos entre a Liz e a Maria]. Eu vi a Maria ainda neném no colo da Dona Andréia quando ela levava o Lucas para a turma infantil e hoje ela está do meu tamanho... Por último, o próprio Lucas. Nenhum aluno esteve comigo desde o dia 1 da minha carreira ininterruptamente como o Lucas. Ainda assim, desde que deixou de ser criança, ele preferia se dedicar apenas as práticas e já faz um tempo que ele veio ressignificando isso. 

In this regard, it is very important that we as martial artists are not disconnected from society. We need to cultivate a strategic approach to life and its challenges, without hints of exoticism. Therefore, I was very happy to receive Maria, who is Lucas Eustáquio's girlfriend, and Liz, who is Daniel Eustáquio's girlfriend. Liz seems to have won the award for best dish of the night. After all, we agreed for each person to bring a meal and a drink, and her lemon cake was being praised until yesterday... In addition to the two, it was very surprising to receive the other Maria, the one who is Lucas and Daniel's sister [wearing glasses between Liz and Maria]. I saw Maria still a baby on Mrs Andréia's lap when she used to take Lucas to the kids class and nowadays she is my size... Finally, Lucas himself. No student has been with me since day 1 of my career uninterruptedly like Lucas. Even so, since he stopped being a child, he preferred to dedicate himself only to practices and it's been a while since he came to resignify that.

Quanto a mim, você podia me ver por ali conversando, contando alguma história repetida, rodando pelo recinto algumas vezes... Então eu lembrei do meu Si Fu. Como o Si Fu, você não pode esquecer nem por um momento o que você está fazendo ali... Voce precisa estar atento se tem alguém 'deslocado', se todos estão se servindo ou sendo servido, as vezes você entra no meio de uma conversa e começa a participar, fica atento para pressentir o momento de propor algo ou iniciar uma atividade que encaminhe o evento para o seu final... E muitas outras coisas...E em meio a isso tudo, se você não conseguir relaxar, você acaba com toda a proposta do evento... 

Para a excelência do meu Si Fu chegar até as próximas gerações, será um desafio constante e contínuo. Porém, acho que estamos conseguindo...  Os bons momentos voltaram...

As for me, you could see me talking around there, telling a repeated story, walking around the room a few times... Then I remembered my Si Fu. As a Si Fu, you cannot forget for a moment what you are doing there... You need to be aware if there is someone 'dislocated', if everyone is serving themselves or being served, sometimes you enter in the middle of a conversation and start to participate , stay alert to anticipate the moment to propose something or start an activity that will bring the event to an end... And many other things... And in the midst of all this, if you are unable to relax, you end up with all event spirit in the first place...

For the excellence of my Si Fu to reach the next generations, it will be a constant and continuous challenge. However, I think we're getting there... The goodtimes ate back...
