(De costas, sou eu assistindo a aula de pós-graduação de Si Gung na antiga filial da UGF em São Paulo no ano de 2011. Na época, Si Gung usava trechos de filmes em suas aulas para poder explicitar os temas estudados mais claramente.)

No início dos anos 2000, houve mais uma de muitas viagens ao antigo Núcleo Central da Moy Yat Ving Tsun em São Paulo. Numa delas porém, meu irmão Kung Fu Cristiano Chaves me contou que Si Gung (foto) havia exibido o filme "O Tigre e o Dragão"(Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - 2000) com comentários sobre significados escondidos dentro do filme. Aquilo mexeu muito comigo! Amo este filme até hoje e lamnetei não ter assistido aquela palestra.
In the early 2000s, there were another one of many trips to the former Central School of Moy Yat Ving Tsun in São Paulo. In one of them however, my Kung Fu brother Cristiano Chaves told me that Si Gung (photo) had shown the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000) with comments about meanings hidden inside the film. That story touched me a lot! I love this movie until today and I lamented not having attended that lecture.
(Mais uma vez de costas, sentado no chão de casaco marrom, assisto pela última vez o vídeo "Filtro Solar" . Esse vídeo tocava tanto Si Fu,que aparece sentado em sua cadeira na foto, que dois anos depois fiz uma "Versão Ving Tsun" do vídeo para ele, que pode ser encontrada no youtube).

Foi somente em 2006, que algo curioso aconteceu: Si Fu que vinha mostrando à todos o vídeo "Filtro Solar" (Sunscreen, 2003) que ele adorava. Exibiu ele pela última vez na celebração do "Ano Novo Chinês" de 2006 e naquela mesma manhã ele exibiu o filme "Crash - No Limite" (Crash,2004) . O filme era excelente, e Si Fu propôs um colóquio mediado por ele ao final. Mal sabiamos nós, quantas vezes ainda assistiríamos aquele mesmo filme, que Si Fu fazia questão de mostrar a todos (risos): "Já viu Crash? Coloca aí Seabra!"
It was only in 2006 that something curious happened: Si Fu who was showing everyone the video "Sunscreen" ( 2003) that he loved so much at the time. He last screened it for the "Chinese New Year" celebration of 2006 and that same morning he shown the movie "Crash"( 2004). The film was excellent, and Si Fu proposed a colloquium mediated by him at the end. Little did we know, how many times we would still watch that same movie, that Si Fu made a point of showing everyone (laughs).

A experiência me marcou tão profundamente, a ideia de descobrir algo além do que era mostrado num primeiro plano do filme, que por muitas vezes ao longo de minha carreira promovi a mesma atividade exibindo diferentes produções. Nem sempre, a ambiência era a mais favorável, mas percebia o quanto momentos como esses marcavam os corações de todos.
The experience touched me so deeply, the idea of discovering something beyond what was shown in a foreground of the film, which for many times throughout my career promoted the same activity exhibiting different productions. Not always, the ambience was the most favorable, but I realized how moments like this marked the hearts of all.
Em 2012, chegamos a ter uma espécie de pique-nique(foto) atrelado a exibição do então inédito "Ip Man- A lenda Nasce " (Ip Man : The Legend is Born, 2010). O público do Núcleo Méier era quase que todo composto de adolescentes. E desde a comida até a dinâmica , percebíamos detalhes que mostravam isso.
In 2012, we had a kind of picnic (photo) linked to the exhibition of the then brandnew "Ip Man - The Legend Is Born" ( 2010). The Méier School audience was almost all made up of teenagers. And from food to dynamics, we noticed details that showed this.
Depois de muito tempo, meu To Dai Luiz Felipe Grativol , organizou o primeiro evento chamado "Cine Kung Fu"(foto). Porém, ainda nos moldes antigos, no qual se juntava um grupo de pessoas localmente em um determinado Núcleo. Ainda assim, parecia um pequeno avanço em relação ao que fazíamos.
After a long time, my To Dai Luiz Felipe Grativol, organized the first event called "Cinema Kung Fu" (photo). However, still in the old molds, in which a group of people were gathered locally in a certain School. Still, it seemed a small improvement over what we were doing.
Foi então que Si Fu pensou num projeto chamado "Cinema em Família Kung Fu". Este projeto, visa permitir com que uma vez por mês o praticante de um Núcleo possa experimentar um momento de Vida Kung Fu, claro, mas também um momento de entretenimento seguido de um bate-papo ao final com o próprio Si Fu.
It was then that Si Fu thought of a project called "Cinema with the Kung Fu Family". This project aims to allow once a month the practitioner of a School can experience a moment of Kung Fu Life, of course, but also a moment of entertainment followed by a chat at the end with Si Fu himself.

O primeiro filme do novo projeto foi "Clube da Luta "(Fight Club , 1999), e o Diretor do Núcleo Barra Península/O2, Iuri Alvarenga (foto) não só preparou o local de forma muito aconchegante , mas conduziu a abertura do evento, explicando um pouco sobre do que se tratava essa nova iniciativa.
The first film of the new project was "Fight Club"(1999), and the Director of Barra Península / O2 School, Iuri Alvarenga (photo) not only prepared the place very warmly but led the opening speech of the event , explaining a little about what this new initiative was about.
Si Fu conseguiu pegar uma "Ideia legal" e transformar num projeto com inúmeros potenciais para um Núcleo da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence Gestão Integrada. Inclusive como "Serviço Interno e Externo" a ser oferecido. E talvez seja apenas coincidência, mas o próximo filme que vamos assistir é "Crash- No Limite" (Crash,2004).

Si Fu managed to get a "Cool Idea" and turn it into a project with innumerable potentials for a Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence , Integrated Management School. Also as "Internal and External Service" to be offered. And maybe it's just a coincidence, but the next movie we're going to watch is "Crash"(2004).
