[詠春武林中外]: ALL SI FU´S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS OVER THE YEARS

Bom, eu acho que em Novembro de 2003, Si Fu completava 34 anos. E apesar do carinho mútuo que se desenvolvia. Participar de eventos da Família Kung Fu para mim, era uma coisa com a qual eu não conseguia me conectar. Então nesse aniversário eu não estive presente.
Lembro de estar saindo da casa minha primeira namorada, e meu Si Suk André me ligar no meu primeiro telefone celular: Um NOKIA azul.
Eu disse ao Si Suk já em cima da hora, que não iria mais. Tinha alguma coisa bem lá no fundo dizendo para eu ir, mas mesmo assim eu disse "não". Si Suk André tinha um jeito tão especial, que sua fala à respeito de que isso atrapalhava a organização do evento, que já contava com a minha presença. Era como uma "marretada" no peito.

Well, I think in November 2003, Si Fu was 34 years old. And despite the mutual affection that developed between us. Attending Kung Fu Family events for me was something I couldn't connect with. So this birthday I was not present.
I remember leaving my first grilfriend´s house , and my Si Suk André calling me on my first cell phone: A blue NOKIA.
I told Si Suk in the nick of time that I wouldn't go anymore. There was something deep inside telling me to go, but I said "no". Si Suk André had such a special way that his talk about how this was disrupting the organization of the event, which already had my presence. It was like a hammer in my chest.

No ano seguinte em 2004(FOTO), eu resolvi participar de um aniversário do Si Fu pela primeira vez. Mas não fiquei até o final! Sim, isso é verdade! Ainda me interessava apenas pelas práticas, e mesmo já participando de outros eventos de integração, estive no Restaurante Estrela do Sul no Recreio apenas porque havia me comprometido a participar da demonstração. Quando a mesma acabou, eu fui embora.
Todos estranharam, mas aqui entra uma coisa que Si Fu me disse certa vez: Quando assumimos uma posição de maneira muito veemente, quando precisamos ajustar, não temos como ou fica mais difícil. Assim sendo, no fundo eu queria ficar. Mas eu era o mesmo cara que achava que para homenagear o Si Fu, o investimento não precisava ser tão alto(na minha perspectiva da época) com relação ao evento.

The following year in 2004 (PHOTO), I decided to attend a Si Fu's birthday celebration for the first time. But I didn't stay until the end! Yes this is true! I was still interested only in the practices, and even attending other integration events, I was at the Estrela do Sul Restaurant in Recreio just because I had committed to participate in the demonstration. When it was over, I left.
Everyone was surprised, but here comes one thing that Si Fu once said to me: When we take a position very vehemently, when we need to adjust, we have no way of getting it . So deep down I wanted to stay. But I was the same guy who thought that to make a celebration for Si Fu, the investment didn't have to be so high on the event.

Em 2005, estávamos de volta ao Estrela do Sul. Bom, àquela altura, minha relação com Si Fu estava se consolidando, e eu havia sido escolhido para ser "Gaai Siu Yan" do Thiago Wasserman e Phelipe Pita. Afinal, uma Cerimônia Tradicional havia precedido àquele aniversário.
Este também foi o primeiro aniversário que participei da organização. Si Suk Ursula coordenava tudo nessa época e Paula Gama, começava à trazer uma doçura maior aos nossos eventos e momentos em Família. Tanto é, que ela cantou "To Sir with Love" do filme "Ao Mestre com Carinho"(1967). Eu e ela fizemos uma versão da música.
Eu insisti bastante para que houvesse uma demonstração durante o aniversário. Assim, demonstramos: Siu Nim Tau, Cham Kiu, Biu Ji e Si Suk Ursula e Fernanda Neves, demonstraram "Chi Sau Leung Baai Muk". Dá pra acreditar? Risos

By 2005, we were back at the Etsrela do Sul Restaurant. Well, by that time, my relationship with Si Fu was consolidating, and I had been chosen to be "Gaai Siu Yan" by Thiago Wasserman and Phelipe Pita. After all, a Traditional Ceremony had preceded that birthday.
This was also the first anniversary I attended the organization. Si Suk Ursula coordinated everything at that time and Paula Gama began to bring a greater sweetness to our Family events and moments. So much so, that she sang "To Sir with Love" from the movie "To sir with Love" (1967). She and I made a version of the song.
I insisted a lot that there was a demonstration during the birthday. So we demonstrated: Siu Nim Tau, Cham Kiu, Biu Ji and Si Suk Ursula and Fernanda Neves demonstrated "Chi Sau Leung Baai Muk". Can you believe? Laughs

Bom, se eu pudesse escolher morar pra sempre em uma dessas noites, com certeza seria a de 2006. Usamos a casa vazia do tio de Si Fu para fazermos uma das maiores festas da história do Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang no Rio! Enquanto um solitário senhor preparava crepes num canto do salão, a lendária banda "Ameixas da Madrugada"(Pois ensaiávamos de madrugada), tocou algumas músicas que o Si Fu gostava.
O público se empolgou tanto tendo sido pego de surpresa, que até mesmo Si Fu subiu ao palco para cantar "Estou a dois passos do paraíso" da banda BLITZ!

Well, if I could choose to live forever on one of those nights, it would definitely be 2006. We used Si Fu's uncle's empty house to have one of the biggest parties in the history of the Grand Clan Moy Yat Sang in Rio! While a lone gentleman was preparing brazilian tipycal food in a corner of the room, the legendary band "Ameixas da Madrugada" (We were rehearsing at dawn) played some songs that Si Fu liked.
The audience was so excited to have been taken aback that even Si Fu took the stage to sing BLITZ's "Estou a dois passos do paraíso"!

Mas meu maior aprendizado, veio de uma conversa com Si Suk Felipe Soares horas antes do evento, após fazermos os últimos ajustes. Disse à ele, que não concordava com os valores cobrados para este tipo de evento. Por isso, tocaria as músicas e me retiraria. Ele disse algo que nunca me esquecerei: "... Você já reparou que são sempre as mesmas pessoas que organizam estes eventos? Geralmente somos eu, Si Je Ursula, Nanda, Inês... Talvez por isso, escolhemos sempre os mesmos lugares e por isso sempre pareça tão caro..." - E com sua calma característica ele concluiu: "...Quem sabe se ano que vem você participar mais da organização do evento como um todo, você não possa indicar outras opções?..." - Ele falou aquilo como uma tranquilidade tão grande, que vi o quão mesquinho eu tinha sido até ali. Mais tarde, fui e levei minha namorada. Depois desse dia, nunca mais olhei para o valor de um evento, sem pensar no trabalho e na lógica que estavam por detrás para que se chegasse nele...

But my biggest learning came from a conversation with Si Suk Felipe Soares hours before the event, after we made the last adjustments. I told him that I did not agree with the amounts charged for this type of event. So I would play the songs and take me out. He said something that I will never forget: "... Have you noticed that it is always the same people who organize these events? Usually it is me, Si Je Ursula, Nanda, Inês ... Maybe that's why we always choose the same places and that's why it always seems so expensive ... "- And with his calm characteristic he concluded:" ... Who knows if next year you participate more in the organization of the event as a whole, you can not indicate other options? ... "- He said that with such tranquility that I saw how petty I had been so far. Later I went and took my girlfriend. After that day, I never looked back at the value of an event, without thinking about the work and logic behind it.

Pensando agora, o aniversário de 40 anos de Si Fu em 2009, três anos depois das grandes aventuras de 2006. Talvez tenha sido o auge da minha parceria com Paula Gama, Carlos Antunes e Thiago Silva.
Eu ainda carregava comigo, o impacto da fulminante celebração do aniversário de quarenta anos do Si Gung em 2003. Por isso, sabia que Si Fu precisava ser homenageado à altura do que a data pedia.
Paula fez uma mesa de bolo tão bonita, que até hoje considero uma das mais incríveis que já tivemos.

Now thinking about Si Fu's 40th birthday in 2009, three years after the great adventures of 2006. Maybe it was the pinnacle of my partnership with Paula Gama, Carlos Antunes and Thiago Silva.
I still carried with me the impact of Si Gung's fiery celebration of his fortieth anniversary in 2003. So I knew that Si Fu needed to be honored in a great way.
Paula has made such a beautiful cake table that I still consider it one of the most amazing we have ever had.

Minha maior lembrança daquela noite, eram as risadas do Si Fu, de sua mãe Sra Vera Camacho, e da Jade(sua filha mais velha) durante as homenagens. Tudo naquela noite foi incrível para mim. Carlos Antunes cruzou a cidade por muitas vezes durante a organização naquele seu Uno Mille preto.
Nos dedicamos com tanto afinco àquele evento, que pela primeira vez Si Suk Ursula ficava de fora da organização. Em alguns momentos ela me pedia para dizer como estavam as coisas, mas eu sempre dava uma desculpa e mudava de assunto(risos).

My biggest memory of that night was the laughter of Si Fu, his mother Mrs Vera Camacho, and Jade (his eldest daughter) during the tributes. Everything that night was amazing to me. Carlos Antunes crossed the city many times during the organization in his black Uno Mille model car.
We dedicated ourselves so hard to that event that for the first time Si Suk Ursula was left out of the organization. At times she would ask me to say how things were, but I always made an excuse and changed the subject (laughs).

Si Fu insistiu muito que não queria celebração de aniversário no final do ano de 2012. Sua saúde não estava boa, e havíamos acabado de vivenciar várias reviravoltas. Meus irmãos Kung Fu mais próximos: Paula, Carlos e Thiago Silva, não estavam ativos na Família naquele momento. E apesar da falta que sentia deles, e das lembranças de outrora.Àquela altura, eu já sabia que a relação Si-To é entre Si Fu e To Dai. E insistindo muito, eu e Guilherme de Farias promovemos uma divertida mesa com rodízio de pizzas.
Assim, seis anos depois de 2006, eu que reclamava do preço dos jantares de celebração, estava capitaneando uma celebração do aniversário de Si Fu. Isso parece mágico, não é mesmo?

Si Fu insisted very much that he did not want a birthday celebration at the end of 2012. His health was not good, and we had just experienced several twists. My closest Kung Fu brothers: Paula, Carlos and Thiago Silva were no longer active in the Family at that time. And despite I was smissing them so much, and my memories of yore. By the time, I knew that the Si-To relationship is between Si Fu and To Dai. And insisting a lot, Guilherme de Farias and I promoted a fun table with pizza.
So, six years after 2006, I, who was complaining about the price of celebration dinners, was leading a celebration of Si Fu's birthday. That sounds like magic, doesn't it?

Em 2013, já estávamos numa clara "subida". Naquele mesmo ano, havia ouvido a frase de Si Fu : "...Si Taai Gung Moy Yat dizia que em momentos difíceis, muitos aos poucos se afastam e poucos aos poucos se aproximam..." . Àquele foi um ano muito especial para nossa relação, e novas lideranças como André Guerra surgiam... Naquela noite, Si fu foi presenteado com três livros de etimologia de seu autor favorito. No momento de sua fala, ele citou o fato de que naquele ano, pude ver seu lado mais humano. - "Para todo o Si Fu, o momento em que um To Dai vê seu lado mais humano, é muito especial..."

In 2013, we were already on a clear "climb". That same year, I had heard Si Fu's phrase: "... Si Taai Gung Moy Yat said that in difficult times, many slowly move away and little by little just a few people approach ...". That was a very special year for our relationship, and new leaders like André Guerra were emerging ... That night, Si fu was presented with three etymology books of his favorite author. At the time of his speech, he cited the fact that that year I could see his more human side. - "For all Si Fu, the moment when a To Dai sees his most human side is very special ..."

Sabe de uma coisa? Na minha imaginação esse bolo era bem mais legal ...Risos.

Em 2014, àquele Si Fu com a saúde frágil de 2012, havia ficado para trás. Um novo Julio Camacho havia surgido. E lembro de fantasiar, que teria sido legal Si Fu ter deixado a barba crescer durante 2012 e 2013, como num filme do Steven Seagal. Para representar a "passagem de tempo" e "amadurecimento". Quando ele cortasse em 2014, seria mais impactante...
Bom, apesar do "novo Si Fu" que recebeu Niklas, Fabiosa, Andre e Rodrigo como discípulos naquela noite. Eu e dois irmãos Kung Fu não colaboramos muito..risos
Além do bolo estranho, a homenagem apesar de feita com muito carinho, expôs Si Fu ao ponto da Si Suk Ursula perguntar a ele se queria que interrompesse. E Si Fu apenas respondeu: "Acho que eles precisam falar mais um pouco dessas coisas." - Si Fu entendeu que estávamos naquele momento, zerando tudo o que vivemos nos dois anos anteriores. Mas me pediu que deixasse esses acontecimentos da Família, finalmente para trás.

In 2014, that Si Fu with the fragile health of 2012 had been left behind. A new Julio Camacho had emerged. And I remember fantasizing, it would have been nice to have Si Fu grow his beard during 2012 and 2013, like in a Steven Seagal movie. To represent the "passage of time" and "maturation". When he cut in 2014, it would be more impactful ...
Well, despite the "new Si Fu" that welcomed Niklas, Fabiosa, Andre and Rodrigo as disciples that night. Me and two Kung Fu brothers don't cooperate much..laughs
In addition to the strange cake, the tribute, though lovingly done, exposed Si Fu to the point of Si Suk Ursula asking him if he wanted her to interrupt. And Si Fu just replied, "I think they need to talk some more about these things." - Si Fu understood that we were at that moment, clearing everything we lived in the previous two years. But he asked me to leave these Family events, finally behind us.

Em 2018, mais uma vez estava capitaneando o aniversário de Si Fu. Desta vez, estaria presente nossa Si Mo:Marcia Moura Camacho.
Não era mais possível dizer que esta ou àquela pessoa, organizou sozinha o evento. Nossa Família tinha se desdobrado em um Clã. Até mesmo uma Cerimônia de Disicpulado da minha Família tinha acontecido logo após a da Família Moy Jo Lei Ou.
Pensando bem, no momento de decidir qual salão de hotel fechar para o evento, eu precisava deixar um "sinal". Mas meu dinheiro só dava para cobrir o salão menor. Quando liguei para Si Fu para relatar esse entrave, eu já sabia o que deveria fazer: Aluguei o salão maior e decidi que daríamos um jeito de fazer funcionar e lotar o lugar... E assim o fizemos.

By 2018, I was once again leading Si Fu's birthday. This time our Si Mo: Marcia Moura Camacho would be present.
It was no longer possible to say that this or that person organized the event alone. Our Family had unfolded into a Clan. Even a Family Discipleship Ceremony had taken place shortly after the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family´s.
On second thought, when deciding which hotel ballroom to choose for the event, I needed to leave a "signal"(antecipated money). But my money could only cover the smaller ballroom. When I called Si Fu to report this obstacle, I already knew what I should do: I rented the bigger ballroom and decided we would find a way to make it work and fill the place ... And so we did.

Pensando agora... Posso contar minha história na Família, através das minhas diferentes participações na organização dos aniversários do Si Fu. Muitos momentos marcantes que nunca mais me esquecerei, foram deixados de fora deste artigo para que não se prolongasse mais.
Porém, espero que você que leu até aqui, entenda como um cara comum. Pode se transformar seguidas vezes, caso se aproprie de fato, da relação Si Fu-To Dai.
Você pode ser a pessoa que liga ou procura alguém para confirmar se ela vai estar no aniversário...Ou você pode ser a pessoa que diz que "..Depois confirma".. Como fiz com Si Suk André em 2003. Ou você pode ser quem cuida, quem propõe, quem cria... Quem homenageia. Quem faz de uma noite qualquer de verão, uma noite inesquecível não apenas para seu Si Fu. Mas para pessoas que nunca te dirão o quanto àquele momento proporcionado por você a marcou profundamente.
Mas se fizer, faça por amor...Ah! E use filtro-solar!

Thinking now ... I can tell my story in the Family, through my different participation in organizing Si Fu birthdays. Many remarkable moments that I will never forget have been left out of this article so that it will no longer be prolonged.
However, I hope you who have read this far understand as an ordinary guy. This guy could change over and over again, if he take to him honestly, the Si Fu-To Dai relationship.
You can be the one who calls or looks for someone to confirm if this person will be on the birthday celebration ... Or you can be the person who says "..I will confirm later" .. As I did with Si Suk André in 2003. Or you can be who cares, who proposes, who creates ... Who honors. Who makes any summer night, an unforgettable night not just for your Si Fu. But for people who will never tell you how much that moment provided by you has profoundly marked them.
But if you do, do it for love ... Ah! And use sunscreen!
