Interview with GM Leo Imamura - The importance of a Si Fu's birthday.

O Blog do Pereira tem a honra de entrevistar o Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura mais uma vez. E nesta oportunidade, falaremos de um evento sem precedentes que ocorrerá na capital do nosso país por ocasião do seu aniversário. Serão três dias de grande impacto no cenário das artes marciais do Brasil, quando Grão-Mestres de fora do país da Linhagem Moy Yat, bem como Mestres brasileiros de expressão internacional do Karate, Aikido e Judo estarão presentes.

Com dois dias dedicados a práticas que compreenderão todo o Sistema Ving Tsun, além de estudos específicos de Chi Sau, conduzidos por autoridades de alto nível desta arte, será um verdadeiro marco para aqueles que estiverem presentes. Além disso, o auditório do Senado Federal servirá de palco para o último dia de evento, no qual os Mestres presentes poderão fazer palestras que têm o potencial de reapresentar o importante papel das artes marciais para a sociedade.

Acompanhe abaixo, como em poucas linhas, Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura compartilha muito do seu entendimento sobre a importância do aniversário de um Si Fu, no ano e no evento em que ele completa 61 anos de idade.

The Peartrees's Blog has the honor of interviewing Grand Master Leo Imamura once again. And on this opportunity, we will talk about an unprecedented event that will take place in the capital of Brazil on the occasion of his birthday. It will be three days of great impact on the martial arts scene in Brazil, when Grand Masters from outside the country of the Moy Yat Lineage, as well as Brazilian Masters of international expression in Karate, Aikido, and Judo will be present.

With two days dedicated to practices that will encompass the entire Ving Tsun System in addition to specific Chi Sau studies, conducted by high-level authorities in this art, it will be a true milestone for those who are present. Furthermore, the Federal Senate auditorium will serve as the stage for the last day of the event, in which the Masters present will be able to give lectures that have the potential to reintroduce the important role of martial arts for society.

Follow below, as in a few lines, Grand Master Leo Imamura shares much of his understanding about the importance of a Si Fu's birthday, in the year and event in which he turns 61 years old.

1-  O senhor passou por alguma dificuldade para estar nos aniversários do Patriarca Moy Yat? Por que o senhor fazia questão de ir?
Did you face any challenges in attending Patriarch Moy Yat's birthdays? Why was it important for you to attend?

L.I.  -  A importância do aniversário do Si Fu diz respeito à confirmação do vínculo familiar, que é um pseudo- parentesco. Por isso, a presença é fundamental. O Patriarca Moy Yat não só ia, como também organizava o aniversário do Patriarca Ip Man. É fundamental que você possa manifestar esse vínculo.

Eu  tinha um desafio que muitas vezes minha vida não coincidia com o aniversário dele. Eu tinha um combinado diferente com ele, muitas vezes voltando para o Brasil uma semana antes de seu aniversário. Somado a isso, tinha a dificuldade de se ajustar às questões financeiras, e o aniversário da sua Si Taai que era um dia depois do aniversário dele.

ENGLISH -  The significance of  a Si Fu's birthday relates to the confirmation of the family bond, which is a pseudo-kinship. Therefore, presence is crucial. Patriarch Moy Yat not only attended but also organized the birthday celebration for Patriarch Ip Man. It is essential that you can express this connection.

I faced a challenge where often my life did not align with his birthday. I had a different arrangement with him, frequently returning to Brazil a week before his birthday. In addition, there was the difficulty of adjusting to financial matters, and your Si Taai 's birthday, which was one day after his own.

2-O senhor considera que existe algum momento da jornada Kung Fu de alguém que é imprescindível estar presente nesse tipo de celebração?

Do you believe there is a crucial moment in someone's Kung Fu journey that necessitates being present at such a celebration?

L.I. -  Existem dificuldades, mas tudo é uma questão de oportunidade, por exemplo, os 'big numbers'... 40, 50, 60, 70 anos de idade... São anos importantes em que a pessoa precisa estar presente, inclusive se você é considerado um membro importante na família.

ENGLLISH - There are challenges, but it's all a matter of opportunity. For instance, the 'big numbers'... 40, 50, 60, 70 years old... These are significant years where one needs to be present, especially if you are considered an important member of the family.

3-O que haverá de diferente na celebração do aniversário do senhor este ano? 
What will be different about your birthday celebration this year? 

L.I. - Este ano, o que queremos fazer é trazer a união e o apoio de pessoas que possam estar trabalhando em conjunto. Por isso, teremos o evento no senado federal para expandir nossa mensagem para outras camadas da sociedade. Já temos nomes confirmados que são meus amigos, do Judô, Karatê e Aikido.

ENGLISH - This year, what we aim to do is foster unity and support from individuals who can collaborate. Therefore, we will hold the event at the Federal Senate to broaden our message to other layers of society. We already have confirmed names, including friends from Judo, Karate, and Aikido.

4- Como se dará este estudo do Sistema Ving Tsun com os Grão Mestres?

How will the study of the Ving Tsun System with the Grand Masters take place?

L.I. - Teremos um painel para falar de todos os domínios do Siu Nim Tau ao Baat Jaam Do. E teremos também pessoas conduzindo práticas de Chi Sau de alto nível.

ENGLISH - We will have a panel to discuss all aspects from Siu Nim Tau to Baat Jaam Do. Additionally, there will be individuals leading high-level Chi Sau practices.

5 - Mestres e praticantes afastados serão bem-vindos?
Are Masters and practitioners who are currently away welcome?

L.I. - Todos os discípulos são bem-vindos, Apesar de muitas vezes a relação estar distanciada, é muito importante estar presente para reafirmar essa relação. Muitas vezes, uma maneira de fazer isso numa impossibilidade é enviar um vídeo, por exemplo. Mas quando você envia vídeo duas, três, quatro vezes... Isso começa a perder sentido. O vídeo é um meio para compensar a ausencia, e não para ser um recurso permanente.

ENGLISH - All disciples are welcome. Although the relationship is often distant, it is very important to be present to reaffirm this relationship. Often, a way to do this when this is impossible is to send a video, for example. But when you send video two, three, four times... It starts to lose meaning. Video is a means to compensate for absence, not to be a permanent resource.

6- Haverá titulações na oportunidade?
Will there be certifications available during the occasion?

L.I. - Haverá muitas titulações e promoções.

ENGLISH- There will be numerous certifications and promotions.

7- Haverá convidados internacionais? O senhor já tem os nomes?
Will there be international guests? Do you already have the names?

L.I. - A própria presença do GM William Moy , presidente da International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation, vai ajudar muito nesse reconhecimento internacional. Principalmente aqueles que estão fazendo o trabalho vinculado a International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation. Também estarão presentes o Grão Mestre Pete Pajil, Chairman do Conselho de Grão Mestres e o Mestre Senior Wayne Belonoha, que é vice-presidente da International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation. Além de brasileiros de expressão internacional, como o Sensei Roberto Santana do Karate, que nos honrará com sua presença. Então teremos pessoas de nível internacional a confirmar também.

ENGLISH - The very presence of GM William Moy, president of the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation, will help a lot with this international recognition. Mainly those who are doing work linked to the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation. Also present will be Grand Master Pete Pajil, Chairman of the Council of Grand Masters and Senior Master Wayne Belonoha, who is vice-president of the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation. 8- Qual homenagem o senhor espera receber?
What tribute do you expect to receive?

L.I. -  A maior homenagem que eu posso receber é a presença das pessoas, e a pior homenagem é a ausência. Eu sinto muito quando os discípulos não aparecem, sendo considerados discípulos e tendo condições de aparecer. É triste.

ENGLISH -  The greatest tribute I can receive is the presence of people, and the worst tribute is their absence. I feel disheartened when disciples don't show up, especially when they are considered disciples and have the means to attend. It is saddening.

“Uma vida em um dia” será o nome do evento que acontecerá no dia 18 de março de 2024 no Auditório Petrônio Portela do Senado Federal em Brasília. “Uma vida em um dia” é uma tradução livre de uma antiga expressão chinesa “Yat Yat, Yat Saang”, que enfatiza a importância de viver plenamente um dia pode valer por uma vida.

Convidados por Grão-mestre Leo Imamura para explicar como a gestão estratégica de conflito pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento humano. Grandes artistas marciais de várias partes do mundo compartilharão como suas ricas experiências de vida podem ajudar as pessoas no dia-a-dia.

Com entrada franca aberta ao público, este evento será apresentado pela Embaixadora da Paz Maria Paula Fidalgo.

Este momento histórico será registrado profissionalmente para que todos possam guardar para vida toda a importância deste dia. 

Afinal, viver bem um dia pode valer para a vida toda.

"One Life in a Day" will be the name of the event taking place on March 18, 2024, at the Petrônio Portela Auditorium of the Federal Senate in Brasília. "One Life in a Day" is a loose translation of the ancient Chinese expression "Yat Yat, Yat Saang," which underscores the importance that fully living one day can be as valuable as a lifetime.

Invited by Grandmaster Leo Imamura to elaborate on how strategic conflict management can contribute to human development, prominent martial artists from various parts of the world will share how their rich life experiences can assist people in their daily lives.

With free admission open to the public, this event will be presented by the Peace Ambassador Maria Paula Fidalgo.

This historic moment will be professionally documented, allowing everyone to preserve the significance of this day for a lifetime. After all, living one day well can be worth a lifetime.

GRAND MASTER LEO´S LECTURE ABOUT FEMININE NATURE

Numa Sexta-feira na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, meu Si Gung, Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura(Foto). Esteve presente no Copacabana Suits Atlantica Hotels, RJ (Zona Sul da cidade). Para fazer uma palestra aberta sobre um tema bem desafiador de se abordar nos dias atuais: "O Impacto do Feminino na Gestão de Conflitos."
Se você perguntasse para as diferentes pessoas ali presentes, incluindo o próprio Si Gung. Para cada uma delas, a experiência da palestra foi completamente diferente. E para mim também...Afinal, essa palestra começara para mim ainda em 2007. E eu nem sabia disso...

Some Fridays ago in the city of Rio de Janeiro, my Si Gung, Grand Master Leo Imamura(Photo above). Was present at Copacabana Suits Atlantica Hotels, Rio (South Zone of the city). To lead an open lecture on a very challenging topic to address these days: "The Impact of Feminine on Conflict Management."
If you asked the different people there, including Si Gung himself. For each of them, the talk experience was completely different. And for me too ... After all, this talk had started for me still in 2007. And I didn't even know it ...

Doze anos antes...
Twelve years before ...

Em Fevereiro de 2007, tínhamos agendada uma reunião que contou com a presença do meu Si Suk, o Mestre Leonardo Mordente e do meu Si Fu, na casa de uma irmã Kung Fu na Gávea. Naquela ocasião, três irmãs Kung Fu(incluindo a dona da casa), estavam promovendo uma peça sobre o Sistema Ving Tsun. Si Fu me indicou para roteirista, mas uma delas foi absolutamente contra. Segundo ela, que não me conhecia muito bem, eu era "apenas um garoto". (E provavelmente eu era mesmo, em vários aspectos..risos). 
No dia da tal reunião, eu apareci com uma bermuda jeans que ia até o tornozelo, uma sandália despojada, e uma camisa do personagem Shaka de Virgem. 
Lembro claramente da expressão de incredulidade de Si Fu olhando para mim na lendária "lanchonete do posto", quando me perguntou: "Pereira, eu estou tentando entender a razão de você estar vestido assim, mas confesso que está difícil de entender." - Todos pararam de comer e senti os olhares sobre mim. Si Fu prosseguiu: "Sua irmã Kung Fu justifica a discordância com sua participação pelo fato de achar você imaturo para a tarefa e você vem vestido de Cavaleiro do Zodiaco. Você consegue me explicar sua lógica?"
Sem conseguir me justificar, peguei um ônibus, voltei em casa, pedi o carro do meu pai emprestado e fui ao compromisso com a roupa que apareço na foto acima. Corri tanto com aquele Siena 2002, que cheguei ainda junto do Si Fu que estava com os demais em seu Zafira na Gávea. - "Agora sim!" - Disse ele.

In February 2007, we had scheduled a meeting attended by my Si Suk, Master Leonardo Mordente and my Si Fu, at the home of a sister Kung Fu in Gávea. At that time, three Kung Fu sisters (including the house owner) were promoting a play about the Ving Tsun System. Si Fu indicated me as a screenwriter, but one of them was absolutely against. According to her, who didn't know me very well, I was "just a boy". (And probably I was, in many ways..laughs).
On the day of such a meeting, I showed up in a pair of ankle-length denim shorts, a stripped sandal, and a shirt of the "Knights of the Zodiac" anime.
I clearly remember Si Fu's expression of disbelief looking at me in the legendary "coffee shop"(where we used to go) when he asked me, "Pereira, I'm trying to understand why you're dressed like this, but I confess it's hard to understand."-  Everyone stopped eating and I felt the stares on me. Si Fu continued: "Your Kung Fu sister justifies the disagreement with your participation by finding you immature for the task and you are dressed as a Kinght of the Zodiac. Can you explain your logic to me?"

Unable to justify myself, I took a bus, came home, change my clothes, borrowed my father's car, and went to the appointment with the clothes that appear in the picture above. I ran so fast with that 2002 Siena that I even got there together to Si Fu that was with the others in his Zafira already in Gávea. - "Now yes!" - He said.


Dias atuais...
Current days...

Já estava desde cedo com meu Si Fu e Si Mo, e a partir da hora do almoço, meu To Dai Thiago Duarte(foto), passou a me acompanhar. Sabe, ainda hoje é novidade para mim ter um To Dai me acompanhando nesses momentos. Estive em tantos episódios do Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang com Si Fu, que já é parte de mim segui-lo. Por isso, me preocupo tanto com a mensagem que estou passando a cada momento. O interessante, é que também deixamos "vazar" coisas boas, como por exemplo: Fibra , dedicação e esse desejo legitimo de cuidar do Si Fu.
Eu estava usando uma camisa regata, e meu plano era colocar o blazer por cima. Quando o fiz, percebi que ficara completamente ridículo. Percebi então que não havia me preparado adequadamente para a ocasião. Afinal, diferente de 2007, represento muito mais do que a mim mesmo em ocasiões públicas e do círculo marcial agora. Mais do que isso: Meu To Dai estava muito bem apresentável.
Quando Si Fu e Si Mo entraram no Uber, meu outro To Dai , Rodrigo Caputo havia chegado e o deixei por alguns minutos com Thiago. Fui até a loja da Reserva e pensei no que Si Fu faria. Decidi que escolheria a camisa que combinasse melhor com o restante da roupa. Sem me importar com o preço.

I was already early with my Si Fu and Si Mo, and from lunch time, my To Dai Thiago Duarte(photo above), came to accompany me. You know, even today it's news for me to have a To Dai accompanying me at these times. I've been to so many episodes of the Grand Clan Moy Yat Sang with Si Fu that it's already part of me to follow him. That is why I care so much about the message I am giving each moment. The interesting thing is that we also let good things "leak", such as: Fiber, dedication and this legitimate desire to take care of Si Fu.
I was wearing a tank top, and my plan was to put a jacket on. When I did, I realized that I was completely ridiculous. I realized then that I had not prepared properly for the occasion. After all, unlike 2007, I represent much more than myself on public occasions and in the martial circle now. More than that: My To Dai was very presentable.
When Si Fu and Si Mo got the Uber, my other To Dai, Rodrigo Caputo had arrived and I left him for a few minutes with Thiago. I went to the Reserva  store and thought about what Si Fu would do. I decided I would choose the shirt that best matched the rest of the outfit. No matter what the price.

Eu estava ali sentado no fundo da sala onde acontecia a palestra, e como uma intuição vinda de algum lugar, achei que Si Gung me chamaria para fazer uma demonstração. Você podia me ver ali , tirando o blazer, minhas pulseiras, meu relógio e meu cordão. De repente, um slide dizia que haveria uma demonstração. Si Gung ficou em silêncio e seus olhos me encontraram lá no fundo. Ele disse: "...Gostaria então de contar com a ajuda do Mestre Thiago Pereira aqui na frente..."
Sabe, a "Vida Kung Fu" é imbatível. Não sei nem se Si Gung teria me convidado se eu estivesse ainda usando aquela camisa regata completamente inapropriada. Mas sabe do que mais? Se não fosse o episódio da camisa dos Cavaleiros do Zodiaco em 2007, eu não teria tomado consciência de nada disso.
Então, como diz meu Si Fu, é possível concluir que podemos fazer qualquer coisa com arte. Inclusive nos vestirmos.

I was sitting there in the back of the lecture room, and as an intuition from somewhere, I thought Si Gung would call me for a demonstration. You could see me there, taking off my jacket, my bracelets, my watch and my necklace. Suddenly a slide said there would be a demonstration. Si Gung was silent and his eyes found me deep inside. He said: "... I would like to have the help of Master Thiago Pereira here in front ..."
You know, "Kung Fu Life" is unbeatable. I don't even know if Si Gung would have invited me if I was still wearing that completely inappropriate tank top. But you know what? If it wasn't for the episode of the Knights of the Zodiac shirt in 2007, I wouldn't have been aware of any of this.
So, as my Si Fu says, it can be concluded that we can do anything with art. Even getting dressed.

Numa noite qualquer de Novembro de 2017, recebi meus dois Dai Ji que aparecem na foto para uma conversa. Esta conversa já estava marcada a alguns dias, e por conta da viagem que fiz até Brasília compondo a delegação do Clã Moy Jo Lei Ou, ela precisou ser marcada mais à frente. 
Quando sentei-me na cadeira ao lado do "Sam Toi"(Mesa Ancestral) com Luiz Grativol e Caroline Archanjo à minha frente, muitas coisas passaram pela minha cabeça antes que começássemos a falar...

On any given night of November 2017, I received my two Dai Ji who appear in the picture for a conversation. This conversation was already scheduled for a few days, and because of the trip I made to Brasília composing the delegation of Clan Moy Jo Lei Ou, it needed to be scheduled later.

Como já contei aqui algumas vezes, eu e Vladimir chegamos bem cedo ao hotel no qual seria realizada nossa Cerimônia de "Baai Si" em 2007. Si Suk André Cardoso e Paula Gama chegariam logo depois.
Diferente de como é feito hoje, nossos "Nome Kung Fu" apareceram no telão já ao final da Cerimônia, e Si Fu falou um pouco sobre eles. Muitas pessoas me deram os "Parabéns" naquela noite, porém mal sabiam, que cinco meses antes eu decidi me afastar da Família Kung Fu.

As I have said here a few times, Vladimir and I arrived very early at the hotel where our "Baai Si" Ceremony was held in 2007. Si Suk André Cardoso and Paula Gama would arrive soon after.
Different from how it is done today, our "Kung Fu Name" appeared on the big screen at the end of the Ceremony, and Si Fu spoke a little about them. Many people gave me the "Congratulations" that night, but barely knew, that five months earlier I decided to move away from the Kung Fu Family.

Si Fu teria dito naquela minha conversa sobre "afastamento" que era uma pena pois estávamos fazendo um bom trabalho, mas que a decisão era minha. Si Fu me abraçou e disse que as portas estariam sempre abertas. Quando sai pela porta, já sabia que aquela ação me trazia alívio, mas percebi rápido o preço que pagaria por aquele "alívio" momentâneo. Dois dias depois então estava de volta, Si Fu me recebeu às gargalhadas com Paula Gama na sala 129 do Blue Sky perguntando se eu não estava afastado. Um ano depois daqueles acontecimentos, eu começava minha carreira no Núcleo Méier formalmente.

Si Fu would have said in my conversation about "moving away from the Family" that it was a pity because we were doing a good job, but that the decision was mine. Si Fu hugged me and said that the doors would always be open. As I stepped out the door, I knew that this action brought me relief, but I quickly realized the price I would pay for that momentary "relief." Two days later I was back, Si Fu greeted me with Paula Gama in room 129 of the Blue Sky building. A year after those events, I began my career in former MYVT Meier School formally.

Certa vez ouvi de Si Suk Homero Pereira, que morou três anos no antigo Núcleo Central, que o Si Gung naqueles tempos de grandes aventuras pegava tão pesado com eles, que quando aparecia alguém querendo "desafiar" ou mesmo arrumar problema no Núcleo Central, ele dizia que a vontade era dar a cabeça pra pessoa e dizer: "Pode bater". Ele teria dito: "Pô meu irmão! Depois de tudo que passávamos com o Si Fu aquilo era o de menos! " - E ele gargalhava.
As horas que antecederam a palestra haviam sido tão estressantes, que quando sentei-me no café dentro do Centro Cultural com irmãos Kung Fu de diferentes famílias, estava muito relaxado.
Ria, brincava, conversava com Fabiano Granado sobre o check-list do aniversário do Si Fu no dia seguinte, ria mais um pouco... E lembrei-me da palestra. Pensei por um momento: "Ei ! Eu não deveria estar nervoso ? " - Mas não encontrando esse "nervosismo" dentro de mim por mais que o buscasse, lembrei-me de Si Suk Homero e sua história e sorri internamente.

I once heard from Si Suk Homero Pereira, who lived three years in the former MYVT South American Headquarters, that the Si Gung in those times of great adventures was so heavy on them that when someone appeared to want to "challenge" or even creat a problem at the MYVT South American Headquarters, he said that the will was to give the person his head and say, "You can hit." He would have said, "C'Mon brother! After everything we had with Si Fu, that would be nothing! "- And he would laugh.
The hours before the lecture had been so stressful that when I sat down at the café inside the Cultural Center with Kung Fu brothers from different families, I was very relaxed.
Laughing, playing, talking to Fabiano Granado about Si Fu's birthday check-list the next day, then laughed a little more ... And I remembered the lecture. I thought for a moment, "Hey, should not I be nervous?" - But not finding this "nervousness" inside me no matter how much I looked for it, I remembered Si Suk Homero and his story and smiled internally.

Um dia antes da palestra, estava com Si Fu, Si Mo e meu Si Dai Flavio Jesus num almoço no nosso querido Benkei, restaurante do Barra Shopping.
Quando estou muito cansado, costuma vir à minha cabeça a imagem do herói japonês Ultraman quando lutava com algum monstro e a luz que ficava em seu peito começava a piscar. Isso significa que Ultraman estava perdendo sua energia, e deveria ir até o sol e retornar para a Terra para que finalmente pudesse usar seu "Juet Jiu" (Ou "Golpe Final").
"A luz piscava em meu peito" e as pálpebras dos meus olhos pesavam... Em determinado momento do almoço, após falarmos sobre o evento de Sábado no qual aconteceriam as Cerimônias de Discipulado da Família Moy Jo Lei Ou e Moy Fat Lei além do aniversário de Si Fu , comentei com ele: "Si Fu, amanhã é a palestra no CCJF e eu não faço a menor ideia do que vou falar! É só usar Kung Fu, você tem Kung Fu."

When I'm very tired, the image of the japanese hero "Ultraman" usually comes to my mind when he used to fight with some monster and the light that was on his chest began to flash. This means that Ultraman was losing his energy, and should go to the sun and return to Earth so he could finally use his "Juet Jiu" (or "Final Strike").
"The light was blinking in my chest" and the eyelids of my eyes weighed ... At a certain time of lunch, after we talked about the Saturday event in which the Discipleship Ceremonies of Moy Jo Lei Ou and Moy Fat Lei Families would happen and also Si Fu's birthday, I said to him: "Si Fu, tomorrow is the lecture at Federal Justice Cultural Center and I have no idea what I'm going to say! Quando subi no palco(FOTO), ainda não sabia sobre o que falaria. Meu Dai Ji Cayo Cesar, havia conseguido preparar alguns slides, Luiz Grativol e Caroline Archanjo, cuidaram junto de Cayo, de todos os preparativos para que a palestra acontecesse. Fiz questão de não pisar no auditório antes que um deles me chamasse para entrar.
Confiança, é uma coisa muito poderosa. A desconfiança também. Preferi confiar em meus discípulos, assim como Si Fu sempre confiou em mim, e assumir as consequências , fossem quais fossem, junto deles. Afinal, esse é o meu entendimento sobre o trabalho de um Si Fu até esse momento de minha carreira.

When I got on stage(PHOTO ABOVE), I still did not know what I was going to say. My Dai Ji Cayo Cesar, had managed to prepare some slides, Luiz Grativol and Caroline Archanjo, took care with Cayo,for all the preparations for the lecture to happen. I made sure not to step in the auditorium before one of them called me in.
Trust, it's a very powerful thing. Mistrust, too. I preferred to trust my disciples, just as Si Fu always trusted me, and to take the consequences, whatever they were, with them. After all, this is my understanding of the work of a Si Fu up to this point in my career.

De fato, eu poderia ter ficado acordado durante a noite anterior e preparado algo. Mas a fala de Si Fu naquele almoço me pegou tão de surpresa, que preferi confiar nele e me dar a oportunidade de explorar uma nova forma de me expressar.
Pesava em mim também, o nome da Si Suk Ursula Lima, que havia intermediado junto ao Centro Cultura Justiça Federal, para que aquela palestra fosse possível. E sob olhares atentos de seus To Dai que estavam na audiência, tinha noção dessa responsabilidade. Apesar disso, eu era também o Si Fu Thiago Pereira, o representante da MYVTMI , um representante da Linhagem Moy Yat, e um discípulo de meu Si Fu.

De volta a 2017, sentado diante de Caroline e Luiz, ouvia dos dois muito emocionados, sobre seus motivos para se afastarem da Família naquela noite. Me veio à mente tudo que havíamos vivido e perguntei-me onde tinha errado. Essa é uma pergunta perigosa, e não perdi muito tempo com ela, pois apesar de saber que todo o membro da Família Kung Fu tem liberdade para ir e voltar, em alguns casos podemos perceber que as palavras adequadas na ordem certa, ajudam aquele praticante a alinhar seu pensamento e encontrar uma solução para seu problema. 
Havia conversado por quatro horas com meu Si Hing Leonardo sobre o tema dois dias antes daquela conversa, e isso foi fundamental para que os dois seguissem firmes na Família Kung Fu. 

Back in 2017, sitting in front of Caroline and Luiz, I heard the two very emotional about their motives for moving away from the Family that night. It came to my mind what we had lived and wondered where I had gone wrong. This is a dangerous question, and I did not waste much time with it, because although I know that every member of the Kung Fu Family is free to go back and forth, in some cases we can see that the right words in the right order help the practitioner to align his thinking and find a solution to his problem.

I had talked for four hours with my Si Hing Leonardo on the subject two days before that conversation, and that was crucial for the two to stick to the Kung Fu Family.

Por isso, quando comecei a falar e as palavras vinham à minha cabeça no palco seguindo uma ordem coesa, sabia que aquilo era Kung Fu. Si Fu estava certo, e fiquei feliz por segui-lo. Ele sabia do que eu era capaz e não teve dúvidas em nenhum momento disso. O que me lembrou de sua frase: "Muitas vezes, eu já acreditei em você, mais do que você mesmo. Ainda que você insistisse para eu desistir.."
E ao tocar em Caroline(FOTO) no palco para fazer nossa primeira demonstração, posso dizer que o tempo parou. Percebi ela com muita fibra e presença, ainda que estivesse com a perna machucada. Vi de relance Luiz Grativol segurando na mão de sua mãe e abrindo um sorriso. Ao fundo, Cayo jogado na poltrona assistindo satisfeito a palestra. Ghabriel Beliago e Thalles Cunha, ainda que à parte daqueles acontecimentos que antecederam a palestra, também estavam lá.
Por tudo isso, para mim, foi mais do que uma palestra...

He knew what I was capable of and had no doubts at all. Which reminded me of his phrase: "Often, I have believed in you, more than yourself. Even though you insisted that I should give up on you .."
And when I touched Caroline(PHOTO) on the stage to make our first demonstration, I can say that time has stopped. I noticed her with a lot of fiber and presence, even though her leg was bruised. I caught sight of Luiz Grativol holding his mother's hand and smiling. In the background, Cayo was relaxed in the armchair watching the lecture. Ghabriel Beliago and Thalles Cunha, although apart from those events that preceded the talk, were also there.
For all that, for me, it was more than a lecture ...
