Receber a visita do seu Si Fu em sua casa, é uma honra muito grande. Acontece que quando você começa a seguir um Si Fu, você não tem intimidade com ele suficiente para fazer tal convite. Ainda que em nosso Clã não tenhamos um “manual para etiquetas e protocolos da Vida-Kung Fu”, aprendemos através da convivência, a perceber no ar, o que é mais apropriado em determinado momento. Com isso, muitos convites o Si Fu não deveria aceitar[Ainda que pudesse ou mesmo quisesse], pois as chances de “perder a cara” seriam muito grandes. Porém, conforme você vai ganhando mais proximidade, cerots convites já poderão ser feitos e aceitos. O que acontece, é que junto de você, tem muitos outros discípulos que demandam atenção também. Com isso, o tempo de um Si Fu com uma carreira de longa data, passa a ser muito disputado. Então, apenas por esses fatores, já seriam motivos mais do que suficientes para valorizar a presença do meu Si Fu em minha residência naquela Sexta. Junto dele, meu Si Hing Leonardo e outros irmãos Kung Fu também estiveram presentes. Meu aluno Artur José, também almoçou conosco e permaneceu por alguns momentos ao longo da tarde.

A ideia era que pudéssemos trabalhar detalhes sobre a listagem do últmo Domínio do Sistema Ving Tsun com meu Si Hing[FOTO] sob a orientação do Si Fu. Queríamos estudar pontos específicos da listagem, e para tal bolamos um plano infalível: “ E se nos preparássemos um mês antes de tal forma, que não houvesse outra possibilidade para o Si Fu, a não ser trabalhar o que buscávamos?” - Parecia uma boa estratégia, lapidar todo o restante, para que nossa execução não apontasse para outros furos que não nos interessavam naquele momento. Sem julgar a inocencia de nossa ação, uma coisa era certa: Aquela tarde de Sexta começara para nós bem antes, e perdura até hoje, sempre que nos encontramos para desdobrar o que vimos com o Si Fu.
The idea was that we could work out details about the listing of the last Domain of the Ving Tsun System with my Si Hing[PHOTO] under the guidance of Si Fu. We wanted to study specific points of the list, and for that we came up with an infallible plan: "What if we prepared a month before in such a way, that there was no other possibility for Si Fu, except to work what we were looking for?" - It seemed like a good strategy, polishing everything else, so that our execution would not point to other holes that we weren't interested in at that moment. Without judging the innocence of our action, one thing was certain: That Friday afternoon had started for us much earlier, and it continues to this day, whenever we meet to unfold what we saw with Si Fu.
Longe dali, acontecia outra prática com o restante do pessoal. Cláudio, Silva e Carlos Antunes faziam uma prática referente ao momento em que se encontram no Domínio “ Baat Jaam Do”. Acho que nem nos meus sonhos mais fantasiosos, imaginaria que um dia a casa onde moro, se tornaria palco de práticas do último Domínio do Sistema Ving Tsun. Quando terminava o futebol, eu ligava minha fita K-7 e ficava praticando sozinho no meu antigo quarto na adolescência fazendo o que dava.... Havia comprado um saco de pancadas, mas o que aprendia no Ving Tsun não encontrava muito uso ali. Eu estava no “Cham Kiu”, e essas memórias me vinham a cabeça ao longo da tarde... Sem fita K-7, sem saco de pancadas, mas com muito mais Kung Fu.

I don't think even in my wildest dreams, I would have imagined that one day the house where I live would become the stage for practices in the last Domain of the Ving Tsun System. When soccer matches I used to play were over, I would turn on my K-7 tape and practice alone in my old room as a teenager doing whatever I could.... I had bought a punching bag, but what I learned in Ving Tsun didn't find much use there. I was at “Cham Kiu”, and these memories came to mind throughout the afternoon... No K-7 tape, no punching bag, but much more Kung Fu.
Voltando ao almoço, talvez tenha acontecido o momento mais significativo do dia... Sabe, eu tenho passado grande parte do meu tempo[cada vez mais], como um Si Fu. Com isso, tenho tido poucas oportunidades na prática, de ser um To Dai. Isso acontece também porque meu Si Fu mora nos EUA, e por mais que nos falemos com frequência, o encontro presencial ainda faz toda a diferença.
Então estávamos a mesa, e começamos a nos servir. O almoço havia sido preparado gentilmente pela minha mãe. Acontece que uma das etiquetas mais básicas do círculo marcial, é esperar o Si Fu começar a comer para que comecemos em seguida. Então sem me dar conta, comecei a comer antes. Percebendo minha ação, rapidamente Si Fu disse :“Vamos comer !” - Imediatamente percebi o que tinha feito, e a comida começou a descer como se fossem pedrinhas do fundo de algum aquário. Se fosse uma luta de vida ou morte, eu teria morrido. Por hora, eu só tinha cometido uma gafe tremenda.
Going back to lunch, maybe the most significant moment of the day happened... You know, I've been spending a lot of my time [more and more] as a Si Fu. With that, I have had few opportunities in practice, to be a To Dai in the last two years. This also happens because my Si Fu lives in the USA, and as often as we talk to each other, the face-to-face meeting still makes all the difference.
So we were at the table, and we started to serve ourselves. Lunch had been kindly prepared by my mother. It turns out that one of the most basic etiquettes of the martial circle is to wait for Si Fu to start eating so we can start right away. So without realizing it, I started eating before. Realizing my action, Si Fu quickly said: "Let's eat!" - Immediately I realized what I had done, and the food began to descend as if they were pebbles from the bottom of some aquarium. If it was a life and death fight, I would have died. For now, I'd only made one massive faux pas.
A casa onde vivo, tem muita história... Ela era o terraço da casa da tia do Si Fu onde ele começou a dar suas primeiras aulas de Ving Tsun em 1995. Mais tarde, sua prima a Mestra Ursula Lima, casou-se com o Sr. Ricardo Lopes e construíram essa casa onde ficava o tal terraço. Local esse que frequentei inúmeras vezes, por diferentes motivos. Finalmente, quando decidiu se mudar para os EUA, minha Si Suk Ursula ofereceu a casa para eu alugar. Na ocasião fiquei muito honrado, pois levando em consideração que a própria Si Suk tem discípulos que moram de aluguel, tomei aquele gesto como uma grande demonstração de carinho.
Então, ao final do dia sentamos na minha sala e Si Fu conduziu uma roda de considerações sobre como havia sido o dia para cada um[FOTO]. Para mim ainda não estava claro o que estava acontecendo... Foram muitas as vezes em que estive com Silva e Carlos em algumas das casas do Si Fu, e Si Fu estava bem mais a vontade em minha casa do que eu próprio[risos]. Era como se eu fosse convidado em meu próprio lar... Mas as vezes é assim mesmo, a ficha só cai depois...
The house where I live has a lot of history... It was the terrace of Si Fu's aunt's house where he started giving his first Ving Tsun classes in 1995. Later, his cousin, Master Ursula Lima, married Mr. Ricardo Lopes and built this house where the terrace was. This place I frequented countless times, for different reasons. There were many times I was with Silva and Carlos in some of Si Fu's former houses, and Si Fu was much more comfortable in my house than I was [laughs] . It was as if I was a guest in my own home... But sometimes it's just like that, it only sinks in later...
Tinha uma propaganda antiga da década de 2000, do serviço de entregas chamado “Ninja Burger”. A premissa era de que os entregadores iam até sua casa levar o hamburguer vestidos de Ninja e entregavam sem voce perceber. A propaganda chegava ao ponto de mostrar os entregadores entrando na casa da pessoa e deixando o hamburguer sobre a bancada da pia sem serem percebidos..risos Vendo como meus irmãos Kung Fu deixaram minha casa em perfeita ordem, como se nenhuma prática tivesse acontecido ali... Me fez lembrar dessa propaganda. Nem parecia que eles estiveram ali... E essa questão de “ Deixar o ambiente melhor do que estava quando voce chegou”, é algo que aprendi com meu Si Fu. Com o tempo, ressignifiquei entendendo que não se trata só do uso que voce fez dos objetos, mas da sua presencça ser algo que agrega ao ambiente. Não tenho dúvidas, que o melhor expoente dessa habilidade em nossa Família é o Carlos Antunes[em primeiro plano na foto]. Onde quer que ele vá, a energia muda positivamente e todos se despedem dele com um sorriso. Assim como acontece com o Si Fu. Essa é uma habilidade ainda que preciso desenvolver... E talvez tenha sido meu segundo grande aprendizado naquele dia... “
Como deixar o ambiente melhor do que estava quando cheguei”.
It had an old advertisement from the 2000s for a delivery service called “Ninja Burger”. The premise was that delivery guys would come to your house to deliver the burger dressed as Ninjas and deliver without you realizing it. The advertisement went so far as to show the delivery men entering the person's house and leaving the hamburger unnoticed..laughs Seeing how my Kung Fu brothers left my house in perfect order, as if no practice had taken place there. .. It reminded me of this advertisement. It didn't even look like they were there... And this question of “Leaving the environment better than it was when you arrived”, is something I learned from my Si Fu. Over time, I gave new meaning to the understanding that it is not just about using the objects you made use off, but about your presence being something that adds to the environment. I have no doubt that the best exponent of this skill in our Family is Carlos Antunes [in the foreground in the photo]. Wherever he goes, the energy changes positively and everyone says goodbye to him with a smile. As with Si Fu. This is a skill I still need to develop... Por conta disso, me foi possível compartilhar com meus irmãos Kung Fu Cláudio Teixeira e Rodrigo Moreira, minha interpretação do Domínio Luk Dim Bun Gwan do início ao fim. Meu Si Fu tem falado muito desse aprendizado a partir da interação entre os irmãos Kung Fu, e acho que naqueles momentos que passamos juntos, conseguimos interagir nesse nível de troca que Si Fu espera.
Acredito que resiliência seja algo muito importante de ser desenvolvido. Nunca desisti de voltar a praticar mesmo com a lesão no meu joelho, por outro lado, sem ela talvez não me sentisse mobilizado a me aprofundar mais neste Domínio. Acontece que para as artes marciais, o aprendizado é constante. Estamos apenas começando!
