(The incredible 1st time When I helped Si Fu during a demonstration)"A incrível primeira vez que ajudei Si Fu numa demonstração."

Numa tarde de sol em Abril de 2004, parei minha bicicleta no centro da Taquara e prendi ela num poste qualquer. Me encaminhei um pouco tímido para uma casa de câmbio a fim de trocar US$ 5,00 . Valor que custaria o "Workshop: Desvendando o Paak Sau"(foto). Primeiro Workshop ministrado por Si Fu após sua titulação de Mestre até onde me lembro.
Eu não fazia ideia de como fazê-lo, e o homem que trocou o dinheiro perguntou: "Ei garoto! Desculpa perguntar, mas pra que você quer cinco dólares?" - Estranhei a pergunta e ele percebendo completou: "Hoje já tiveram aqui uns 10 caras trocando sempre cinco dólares!" . Eu sorri e disse para o que era. O homem me entregando o dinheiro complementou: "Pô! Em dólar?! Deve ser bom hein!"
Subi na minha bicicleta, que anos mais tarde daria de presente para um Si Dai chamado Ismael Alves, e rumei para o antigo Núcleo Jacarepaguá.
Lá, ainda haviam muitos membros da Família Moy Yat Sang, mas muitos já eram da Família Moy Jo Lei Ou recém formada. Ainda assim, tive uma surpresa muito grande...

A sunny afternoon in April 2004, I stopped bike in the center of Taquara neighborhood and held it in a post whatsoever. I headed a little shy for a currency exchange to exchange my money into US$ 5.00. Value that would cost the "Workshop: Unraveling the Paak Sau" (photo). First Workshop taught by Si Fu after his Master qualification far as I remember.
I had no idea how to do it, and the man who changed the money asked, "Hey boy I'm sorry to ask, but for what you want five US dollars!?" - I wondered the question and he realized added: "Today we had here about 10 guys always changing five US dollars!" . I smiled and told what it was. The man handing me the money added: "Using Dollars?! It must be nice huh!"
I ride on my bike, which years later I would give  to a Si Dai called Ismael Alves, and headed to the old Moy Yat Ving Tsun Jacarepagua School.
There also were many members of the family Moy Yat Sang, but many were already Moy JoLei Ou Family members. Still, I had a very big surprise ...

Naquela época, não achava o "Paak Sau" nada demais. E em nosso Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang ele é o primeiro Componente Associado do Siu Nim Tau (Não devemos confundir o "Exercício" com a "técnica"). Mas exatamente por não achar nada demais que eu me inscrevi. Queria saber como era possível um workshop inteiro sobre este tema.
Si Fu estava lá e quando me viu chegar , pediu que eu desenhasse para ele  no flip-chart para que exemplificasse graficamente os conceitos dos Paak Sau. Acontece, que por engano, Si Suk Diego jogou os desenhos fora e fez novo. Demonstrando sua atenção cuidadosa de sempre, Si Fu me fez um convite irrecusável: "Bom, já que o Diego jogou fora seu desenho e já fez outro , quer me ajudar nas demonstrações?"....
Nessas horas, o To Dai tem sempre duas respostas em forma de pergunta. Ou ele responde incrédulo : "Eu Si Fu?" , ou o To Dai vai repetir a pergunta do Si Fu: "Te ajudar nas demonstrações Si Fu?"

At that time, I did not think the "Paak Sau" was a big deal. And in our Great Moy Yat Sang Clan it is the first Associated Component of Siu Nim Tau Domain (We should not confuse the "exercise" with "techniques"). But exactly because I did not find anything else on it that I want to be there at the workshop. I wonder how an entire workshop on this topic was possible.
Si Fu was there and when he saw me coming, he asked me to draw for him on the flip chart to graphically exemplify the concepts of Paak Sau. It turns out that by mistake, Si Suk Diego threw out the scketches and made new ones. Demonstrating his careful attention as always, Si Fu made me an irresistible invitation: "Well, since Diego threw your scketches away and has done other, Do you want to help me in the demonstration?" ....
At such times, the To Dai always have two responses in question form. Or he says incredulously, " Myself?" , Or To Dai will repeat the question to Si Fu: "Help you with the demonstrations Si Fu?"

Na época eu pesava apenas 57 Kg(foto), e Si Fu costumava dizer que eu lembrava aquelas imagens que ficam nas portas de lojas de produtos e artigos religiosos..rs Ou ele simplesmente dizia: "É Pereira... Você é bem esquisito...Você sabia disso?"- E ele ria de um jeito que eu também não me segurava apesar de querer aparentar ser sempre sério... Enfim, lá estava eu de pé observado por tantas pessoas que eu admirava como Si Suk Ursula e André Cardoso e tantas outras que eu respeitava como Si Suk Diego, Domenico e Felipe.
Eu estava completamente paralisado, tudo o que eu queria era não atrapalhar de forma alguma.

I was completely paralyzed, all I wanted was not to hinder in any way.

Si Fu trajava uma camisa branca com a imagem de um bambu, dada a ele por Si Taai Gung Moy Yat e uma calça que compunha o antigo uniforme da Moy Yat Ving Tsun na América do Sul. Eu não lembro de absolutamente nada do que foi dito ou feito enquanto estava ali na frente. Apenas do nervosismo que senti.

Si Fu wore a white shirt with the image of a bamboo, given to him by Si Taai Gung Moy Yat and pants that made up the former uniform of Moy Yat Ving Tsun in South America. I do not remember anything at all of what was said or done while up ahead. Only nervousness I felt.

Cinco anos depois, eu ministrava meu primeiro Workshop para interessados na prática do Ving Tsun no Méier na escola de Dança Espaço Dharma onde minha carreira começou.
Acho que a maior diferença para não ficar nervoso quando estou sozinho nesse tipo de situação, é que não penso apenas em mim, mas na "Missão" se assim posso dizer.
As vezes a "Missão" é representar seu Si Fu, as vezes a instituição, as vezes as duas coisas. Mas quando você se enxerga como parte de um mecanismo muito maior do que você e seus medos, é possível compreender que tudo que você precisa fazer é o mínimo, e assim as coisas correrão bem.

Five years later, I administered my first workshop for those interested in the practice of Ving Tsun in Meier neughbirhood at a dance school called Dharma Space  where my career began.
I think the biggest difference to not get nervous when I'm alone in this kind of situation, I do not think only in me, but in the "Mission" if I may say.
Sometimes the "mission" is to represent your Si Fu, sometimes the institution, sometimes both. But when you see youserlf as a part of a much larger engine than you and your fears, you can understand that all you need to do is minimal, so things will go well.

Hoje entendo que nunca sabemos o suficiente para estarmos tranquilos diante de uma multidão ou de apenas uma pessoa pela qual você é responsável. Provavelmente Si Fu também tinha suas inseguranças naquela noite. Mas acredito que quando nos entregamos a causa de coração, as pessoas percebem isso,e não só nos respeitam quanto inclusive nos ajudam .
Por isso, você não precisa ficar nervoso quando seu Si Fu pedir que você cuide de alguém, que fique no Mo Gun sozinho, que vá na rua fazer algo, etc etc...  Você deve sim levar o pedido a sério, e fazer '...O melhor que você tem com o que você puder na hora que for preciso...' - Segundo palavras do Si Suk André Cardoso.  - O seu Si Fu não lhe pediria algo assim se não achasse que você é capaz.

Now I understand that we never know enough for us to be quiet before a crowd or just a person for whom you are responsible. Probably Si Fu also had his insecurities that night. But I believe that when we give ourselves to the cause with our hearts, people get it, and not only respect us as even help us.
So you need not be nervous when your Si Fu ask that you take care of someone,  stays in Mo Gun alone, or go on the street to do something for him, etc etc ... You should rather take the request seriously, and do ' ... the best you have with what you can in the time comes ... '- in the words of Si Suk André Cardoso. - Your Si Fu would not ask you something if he did not think you are able.

Quando pisquei meus olhos, dez anos haviam se passado desde aquela tarde de Outono no Núcleo Jacarepaguá. Os cabelos de Si Fu ficaram grisalhos e eu fiquei ...Digamos... "mais forte"..rs
E no meu aniversário de 2014, eis que recebi de Si Fu a camisa com a arte feita por Si Taai Gung Moy Yat com um bambú emoldurado que ele usou naquela noite.  Uma honra imensurável: Não só por ser uma obra de Si Taai Gung, não só pelo contexto em que ela foi entregue a Si Fu, não só pelo contexto que ele me entregou. Mas pelo que ela significa para mim: "A incrível primeira vez que ajudei Si Fu numa demonstração."

When I blinked my eyes ten years had passed since that autumn afternoon at the MYVT Jacarepagua School. Si Fu's hair became gray and I became ... let's say ... "stronger" .. hehe

And in my 2014 birthday(photo)I received from Si Fu the T-shirt with an art made by Si Taai Gung Moy Yat with a bamboo framed wich Si Fu used that night in 2004. An immeasurable honor: Not only for being a work by Si Taai Gung not only the context in which it was delivered to Si Fu, not only from the context that he gave me. But for what it means to me, "The amazing first time I helped Si Fu in a demonstration."
