A tendência de mulheres chinesas aprenderem a chamada "Defesa Pessoal", começou quando   uma mulher em sua viagem de negócios a Beijing foi atacada no hotel em que estava hospedada e as cameras flagraram toda a ação.
O "staff" do hotel permaneceu parado, sem interferir no que estava acontecendo, enquanto a mulher, em suas próprias palavras, era atacada por cerca de cinco minutos.

The trend of Chinese women learn what people call "self defense",  began when a woman in her business trip to Beijing was attacked at the hotel where she was staying and cameras got all the action.
The "staff" of the hotel remained standing, without interfering with what was going on, while the woman, in her own words, was attacked by about five minutes.

Uma campanha começou por todo o país pedindo que a população "Estenda a mão amiga" . Isso porque a mulher foi salva no hotel por um hóspede. Uma empresa aérea de SiChuan resolveu promover uma campanha em cima disso, colocando candidatas a comissárias de bordo para aprenderem "Ving Tsun" com alguns Si Fu (Mestres) da região.
Em Sichuan, chineses candidatos aeromoça levou a tradicional chinesa Kung Fu Wing Chun para auto-proteção.

A campaign began nationwide asking that the population "to Extend a helping hand." This is because the woman was saved at the hotel by a guest. An airline of SiChuan decided to promote a campaign on top of that, putting candidates for flight attendants to learn "Ving Tsun" with some Si Fu (Masters) from the region.
In Sichuan, Chinese flight attendant candidates took the Chinese Kung Fu Ving Tsun for self-protection.

As imagens foram compartilhadas pelas redes sociais ao longo de toda a semana, pois mostravam jovens chinesas em roupas provocantes executando movimentos do Sistema Ving Tsun.  Isso porquê, a maioria dessas meninas são as chamadas "millenials" . Ou seja, nasceram após o ano 2000.
Segundo elas, a prática de Ving Tsun é importante para que possam se defender de um possível confronto com um atacante durante voo.

The images were shared by social networks throughout the week, they showed young Chinese women in provocative clothing running movements of Ving Tsun. Most of these girls are "millenials". Ie born after 2000.
According to them, the practice of Ving Tsun is important so that they can defend against a possible confrontation with an attacker during flight.

O que não foi tão divulgado, é que o equivalente a SWAT chinesa , está também aprendendo Ving Tsun para melhorarem em suas abordagens diretas. Este grupo de policiais são da cidade de Xiaoshan, que fica na província de HangZhou no leste da China.

What has not been so disclosed, it is that the equivalent of Chinese SWAT, is also learning Ving Tsun to improve on its direct approaches. This group of police are from the city of Xiaoshan, located in HangZhou province in eastern China.

O Sistema Ving Tsun tem sua fundação atribuída a uma mulher chamada Yim Ving Tsun, que estava sendo importunada por um rufião da localidade em que vivia. Uma monja sobrevivente do incêndio no Templo Siu Lam (Shao Lin) teria lhe entregue os atributos necessários para não precisar casar com o homem.
Yim Ving Tsun transmitiu o Sistema recém fundado para seu marido, Leung Bok To, que após sua morte,nomeou a arte de "Ving Tsun Kuen";

The Ving Tsun system has its foundation attributed to a woman named Yim Ving Tsun, who was being harassed by a town's  ruffian in which she lived. A nun survivor of the fire in the temple Siu Lam (Shao Lin) would have given the necessary attributes to her to not have to marry the man.

Com este recente acontecimento no hotel, e toda a popularidade que o Ving Tsun ganhou com os filmes sobre um de seus ancestrais, Ip Man, o Ving Tsun vem tomando o protagonismo na escolha da sociedade chinesa por uma arte marcial.
O fato do Ving Tsun ter sido fundado por uma mulher, não faz dele uma arte para mulheres. Mas sim, uma arte que explora a natureza feminina.

With this recent event at the hotel and all the popularity that the Ving Tsun gained with the films on one of his ancestors, Ip Man. Ving Tsun is taking the leading role in the choice of Chinese society for a martial art.
The fact of the Ving Tsun was founded by a woman, it does not make it an art for women. But rather an art that explores the feminine nature.

Apesar de ser uma arte fundada por uma mulher, o Ving Tsun "sofre", assim como outras práticas. Com o preconceito da sociedade de que artes marciais são praticas mais voltadas para o público masculino. Todas as caretas, músculos, sangue e demais estereotipias que vemos por exemplo nas promoções de eventos de combate , apenas reforçam isso na mente da população em geral. Prestando uma espécie de desserviço aos expoentes sérios .

Apesar destas dificuldades, do Brasil, saiu Mestra Ursula Lima. Diretora do Núcleo Copacabana no Rio de Janeiro, e a única mulher reconhecida internacionalmente como Mestra Qualificada na Moy Yat Ving Tsun.

Despite being an art founded by a woman, the Ving Tsun "suffers", as well as other practices. With society's prejudice that martial arts are more geared practices for the male audience. All the faces, muscles, blood and other stereotypes that we see for example in combat events promotions, only reinforce this in the minds of the general population. É verdade que Mestra Ursula tem muitas alunas , mas como vemos na foto acima, muitos de seus To Dai são homens que encontram nela a figura do Si Fu com toda a qualificação necessária para prover "Vida Kung Fu" como forma de acesso ao Sistema Ving Tsun.

It is true that Master Ursula has many women as students, but as we see in the picture above, many of her To Dai are men who find in her the figure of a Si Fu with all the skills needed to provide "Kung Fu Life" as a means of access to Ving System Tsun.

Por isso, sejam para as "Millenials" da companhia aérea ou para membros da SWAT na China. Acredito que a grande contribuição que a lógica do Ving Tsun pode oferecer é a de antecipar possíveis situações de confronto de forma que elas possam ser neutralizadas antes de se manifestarem por completo.

So, if it is for "Millennials", the airline staff or SWAT team members in China. I believe that the great contribution that the logic of Ving Tsun can offer is to anticipate possible situations so confrontational  can be neutralized before manifesting completely.
