A NEW CLAN FROM MOY YAT LINEAGE RISES IN RIO DE JANEIRO

Numa noite de Sexta no centro da cidade do Rio de janeiro. Pedro Lamarão, discípulo do Mestre Ricardo Queiroz e da Sra Flavia Bambrilla, foi titulado como Mestre Classe Qualificado pela Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence. Esta instituição na ocasião, foi representada pela figura de sua liderança: Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura.
Geralmente, pensamos apenas no título institucional, mas naquela noite tinha muito mais em jogo na camada mais importante... A familiar...

One Friday night in downtown Rio de Janeiro. Pedro Lamarão, disciple of Master Ricardo Queiroz and Mrs. Flavia Bambrilla, was titled as Qualified Master Class by Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence. This institution at the time was represented by the figure of its leadership: Grand Master Leo Imamura.
Usually we thought only of the institutional title, but that night had much more at stake in the most important layer ... The familiar ...

Menos de três horas antes, me encontrava no bairro de Ipanema. Sentava à mesa com meus irmãos Kung Fu Carlos e Lu(foto). Ambos estavam me ajudando com uma situação relacionada ao Núcleo Méier. E quando resolvemos essa parte, conversamos sobre as novidades. O assunto ficou muito em torno da filha deles chamada Alice. E eu fiz uma série de perguntas, de dúvidas que tenho, à respeito de paternidade.
Ainda pensava em tudo aquilo quando tentava me posicionar no metrô completamente lotado naquele início de noite de Sexta na hora do rush. Ouvia a música "Banana Boat(Day-O)"(do Harry Belafonte) da trilha sonora do filme "Bettle Juice". E preso entre a multidão do vagão, ouvindo aquela música tão divertida(risos), me fez achar graça daquela situação. E a viagem ganhou outro tom.
 Um grupo de To Dai me aguardava já no centro do Rio, para que juntos chegássemos ao hotel onde seria o evento.

Less than three hours earlier, I was in the Ipanema neighborhood. I sat at the table with my Kung Fu brothers Carlos and Lu (photo). Both were helping me with a situation related to the Meier School. And when we solved that part, we talked about the news in our lives. The subject was very much around their daughter named Alice. And I asked a lot of questions, questions I have about parenting.
I was still thinking about all this when I tried to position myself on the fully packed subway that early Friday night at rush hour.I was listening to the song "Banana Boat (Day-O)" from the soundtrack to the movie "Bettle Juice". And trapped in the crowd of the subway train, listening to that fun music (laughs) made me feel funny about that situation. And the trip took on another tone. 
A group of my To Dai(Students) was waiting for me in the downtown area of Rio, so that together we would arrive at the hotel where the event would take place.

Luiz foi o último de meus To Dai a chegar no ponto de encontro. Diferente das outras vezes quando andava com uma camisa do Jurassic Park em todas as ocasiões, fiquei feliz de ver como ele se vestia. Além disso, seu Tong Jong era igual ao meu. Mais tarde, após conversar com Marina e Max, ambos membros da Família Moy Ke Lo Si, na porta do hotel onde seria o evento. Recebi Si Fu e Si Mo, e reparei que Si Fu usava o mesmo modelo de Tong Jong e na mesma cor.

Luiz was the last of my To Dai to arrive at the meeting point. Unlike other times when he was wearing a Jurassic Park shirt for any occasion, I was happy to see how he dressed. Besides, his Tong Jong was the same as mine. Later, after talking with Marina and Max, both members of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family, at the door of the hotel where the event would be held. I received Si Fu and Si Mo, and noticed that Si Fu was wearing the same Tong Jong model as ours and in the same color.

Quando finalmente cheguei ao salão no qual ocorreria a Cerimônia de Titulação, todos estavam bem agitados procurando saber dos últimos detalhes. Fui cumprimentando cada um, pois confesso que um dos meus momentos favoritos em qualquer evento da Família Moy Ke Lo Si, é a chegada em si. A recepção é sempre tão calorosa que entrei na sala em busca dos abraços que sempre recebo. Um deles porém, me chamou a atenção: Era o abraço do próprio Pedro Lamarão: A estrela principal da noite! Apesar de não conhecer o Pedro tão bem pra afirmar, senti ele quase anestesiado. Ele parecia nervoso, mas não aparentava nervosismo. E fiquei pensando no quanto de trabalho houvera até ali, e que talvez a ficha estivesse caindo naquele momento...Pouco antes da Cerimônia, como quando Pedro percebeu que seria necessário voltar ao Mo Gun para pegar mais "Hung Baau".


By the time I finally reached the hall where the Qualified Master Ceremony was to take place, everyone was very agitated trying to know the last details. I greeted each one, as I confess that one of my favorite moments in any event of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family is the arrival itself. The reception is always so warm that I entered the room in search of the hugs I always receive. One of them, however, caught my attention: It was Pedro Lamarão's own hug: The star of the night. I think you can say that the speech I made at dinner shortly after came up there. Well, despite not knowing Pedro so well to say, I felt him almost numb. He looked nervous, but didn't look nervous. And I wondered how much work there had been so far, and maybe he was realizing everything just in that very moment ... Just before the Ceremony, like when Pedro realized that it would be necessary to go back to Mo Gun to get more "Hung Baau".

Em seu discurso inicial, Si Fu se dirigiu à Pedro e falou sobre sua reflexão à respeito da Família Moy Ke Lo Si, e disse: "...De tantas, eu vejo duas qualidades que saltam: Respeito e Alegria."- Disse ele. E prosseguiu: "...Eu tenho uma relação muito próxima com seu Si Fu, e dentro dessa relação existem muitos sentimentos. E um deles é o de respeito. "- Si Fu então falou sobre a etimologia desta palavra, e de como essa raiz etimológica, mostrava que "respeitar" é "Olhar novamente".E  que só se olha para uma pessoa novamente, quando ela é importante.
Si Fu diz que quando se está nessa posição de "Mestre de Cerimônias" é importante imprimir a assinatura da pessoa que está exercendo essa função. Talvez por isso, ele tenha feito questão de parabenizar Si Suk Ricardo, Si gung, o próprio Pedro. Falar da sua relação com Si Suk Ricardo e do que este momento potencialmente representava.

In his opening speech, Si Fu addressed Pedro and talked about his reflection on the Moy Ke Lo Si Family, and said: "... From so many, I see two qualities that spring in this Family: Respect and Joy." - He said . So he continued: "... I have a very close relationship with your Si Fu, and within that relationship there are many feelings. And one of them is that of respect." - Si Fu then spoke about the etymology of this word, and how that etymological root, showed that "to respect" is to "look again". And that one only looks at a person again, when he is important.
Si Fu says that when you are in this position of "Master of Ceremonies" it is important to print the signature of the person performing this function. Perhaps that is why he made a point of congratulating Si Suk Ricardo, Si gung, Pedro himself. Talked about his relationship with Si Suk Ricardo and what this moment potentially represented.

O momento da entrega dos símbolos de legitimidade, são sempre especiais. Pois ainda mais impactante do que o item a ser entregue, é o ato da entrega em si. Por isso, essa tradição que remonta ao ato do monge mais velho, que entregava suas vestes e seu pote de esmolar ao seu seguidor(To Dai). Simbolizando assim a entrega do legado. Me emociona profundamente, pois como diz meu Si Fu: "O símbolo tem a força que damos à ele". E se essa placa de anúncio insculpida em madeira parece ter uma aura misteriosa ao seu redor. Acredito que essa energia, venha do gesto da entrega.

The moment of delivery of the symbols of legitimacy are always special. For even more impactful than the item to be delivered, is the act of delivery itself. Therefore, this tradition goes back to the act of the older monk, who gave his clothes and his alms pot to his follower (To Dai). Thus symbolizing the delivery of the legacy. It thrills me deeply because, as my Si Fu says, "The symbol has the strength we give to it.". What if this carved wooden signboard seems to have a mysterious aura around it. I believe this mysterious energy comes from the gesture of deliver.

A placa de anúncio recebida por Pedro Lamarão, foi apresentada como um item de legitimidade exclusivo da Família Moy Ke Lo Si. Esta placa, foi inspirada nas elaboradas por meu Si Fu e confeccionadas por meu irmão Kung Fu, William Franco, que são entregues aos Mo Gun de nosso Clã por ordem de inauguração.

The announcement board received by Pedro Lamarão, was presented as an item of exclusive legitimacy of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family. This board, was inspired by those elaborated by my Si Fu and made by my brother Kung Fu, William Franco, which are delivered to schools of our Clan by inauguration order.

Nas Cerimônias de Titulação de Mestres da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence. Existe um momento que eu sempre acho divertido: Cadeiras são dispostas na lateral do salão(foto), e algumas ficam sobre um pequeno palco ou tablado. Estas cadeiras são dos "Mestres Classe Qualificado" como eu. As que ficam no chão ao lado da do Si Gung, são para os Mestres Classe Senior.
Como único Mestre Classe Qualificado, fiquei sentado ali sozinho, com uma cadeira vazia ao meu lado. E um filme passou pela minha cabeça. Às vezes, com o "corre-corre" do dia a dia. Acabo não me dando conta de que realizei um sonho e de que tenho uma titulação que somente em delírios ao longo dia, me imaginei um dia ser portador.
Então, se por um lado, acho divertido a ideia de ficarmos todos de pé ao redor de alguém sentado batendo palmas. Ocupar estas cadeiras, como representante do Conselho de Mestres da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, sempre me renovam a consciência do meu maravilhoso fardo.

At Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence Masters Degree Ceremonies. There is a moment I always find fun: Chairs are arranged on the side of the room (photo above), and some stand on a small stage or platform. These chairs are for "Qualified Class Masters" like me. The ones on the floor next to Si Gung's are for the Senior Class Masters.
As the only Qualified Master Class representant, I sat there alone, with an empty chair beside me. And a movie crossed my mind. Sometimes with the daily rush. I just do not realize that I realized a dream and that I have a title that only in delusions throughout the day, I imagined myself one day bearer.
So if for one thing, I find it fun that we all stand around someone  clapping. Occupying these chairs as a representative of the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence Masters Council always renews my awareness of my wonderful burden.

Pouco antes de Pedro Lamarão ocupar seu merecido lugar, fiquei contemplando a troca de olhares entre ele e seu Si Fu. Não havia sido a primeira vez, em outros momentos naquela noite eu tinha percebido isso. Só que ali, eu estava bem próximo, e pude sentir toda a intensidade. O que será que se passava na cabeça de cada um deles? Difícil saber...

Just before Pedro Lamarão took his deserved place, I contemplated the exchange of glances between him and his Si Fu. It had not been the first time, at other times that night I had realized that. Only there, I was very close, and I could feel all the intensity. What was going on in their heads? Hard to know ...

O discurso de Pedro Lamarão já como novo Mestre, me tocou profundamente. Dentre tantas memórias que o acometeram naquele instante, Pedro relatou os diversos episódios em que "desistiu" de jornadas ao longo de sua vida. E com relação ao Ving Tsun, atribuiu à sua relação com seu Si Fu, os seus constantes retornos.
Àquelas palavras me fizeram refletir, de que ainda existe um longo caminho pela frente nessa jornada como Si Fu. Já que o paradoxo entre "dar a mão" ao To Dai e deixá-lo viver seus próprios conflitos de distância da relação, ainda se mostram desafiadores para mim.
No caso de Si Suk Ricardo e Pedro, parece que as escolhas tomadas, foram as adequadas.

Pedro Lamarão's speech as a new Master touched me deeply. Among so many memories that struck him at that moment, Pedro related the various episodes in which he "gave up" on journeys throughout his life. And regarding Ving Tsun, he attributed to his relationship with his Si Fu, his constant returns.
Those words made me reflect that there is still a long way to go on this journey as a Si Fu. Since the paradox between "holding hands" with To Dai and letting him live his own conflicts away from the relationship still proves challenging for me.
In the case of Si Suk Ricardo and Pedro, it seems that the choices made were the right ones.

Ao longo daquela noite, também me ocorreu, a importância de Si Gung e Si Fu na vida de todas as pessoas presentes naquele recinto naquela noite. Pois, se por um acaso, somente um dos dois tivesse desistido. Nada daquilo estaria acontecendo.

Throughout that night, it also occurred to me, the importance of Si Gung and Si Fu in the lives of all the people in that room that night. For if only one of them had given up. None of this would be happening.

Talvez por isso, quando tomei o microfone em minha mão, para o discurso durante o jantar. Não tive dúvidas do que deveria falar. Pois dentre as pontuações que fiz, falei de coração para Pedro, sobre como podemos influenciar uma série de pessoas(Algumas que ainda nem conhecemos), com o simples ato de abrir uma Família Kung Fu, ou guardar o "Jiu Paai".
Internamente me senti feliz, com a real possibilidade agora, de dividir o pioneirismo da décima segunda geração com mais alguém no Rio de Janeiro. Pois tenho certeza, que quanto maior a complexidade do "Mo Lam", mais cresceremos juntos.

Maybe that's why, when I took the microphone in my hand, for the dinner speech. I had no doubt what to say. For among the topics I went trough, I spoke heartfelt to Pedro about how we can influence a number of people (some we don't even know) by simply opening a Kung Fu Family, or not.
Internally I was happy, with the real possibility now, of sharing the pioneering spirit of the twelfth generation with someone else in Rio de Janeiro. Because I am sure, the greater the complexity of "Mo Lam", the more we will grow together.

 Por fim, muito além do título recebido por Pedro simbólicamente das mãos de sua Si Mo, a encantadora Si Suk Mo Flavia(foto). Está uma Família Kung Fu que potencialmente nasceu naquela noite. E junto dela, o Clã Moy Ke Lo Si. Voe Pedro! Mas voe alto!

Finally, far beyond the title received by Pedro symbolically from the hands of his Si Mo, the enchanting Si Suk Mo Flavia (photo). There is a Kung Fu Family that was potentially born that night. And next to it, Moy Ke Lo Si Clan.

Até o momento em que meu Si Fu disse “Está aberta a Cerimônia” no púlpito do salão 2 do Hotel Radisson, muita coisa aconteceu.
Si Suk Ursula embarcava com seu marido Ricardo Lopes para Portugal , bem no momento em que a maioria das decisões e mobilizações sobre o evento seriam tomadas.  Ficando à cargo de seus discípulos, a condução direta do processo em seu lugar.
Voltando um pouco no tempo, mais precisamente para 2015. Os Núcleos do Rio de Janeiro se uniram para realizar o aniversário do Si Gung em nossa cidade, bem como, o instrumento “Visita Oficial da Liderança da MYVTMI”.
Naqueles tempos, eu representei meu Si Fu à seu pedido junto à Si Suk Ursula, Si Suk Queiroz e Si Suk Felipe. Por isso , acredito que a viagem à Portugal veio em boa hora. Pois demonstrou que com o passar de poucos anos, seus discípulos, aceitos naquele mesmo ano. Poderiam conduzir o processo.

By the time my Si Fu said "The Ceremony began!" on the tribune of Hall 2 of the Radisson Hotel, a lot happened.
Si Suk Ursula embarked with her husband Ricardo Lopes for Portugal, at the moment when the majority of the decisions and mobilizations about this event would be taken. So their disciples, took the charge  of the the direct conduction of the process in their place.
Going back a bit in time, more precisely to 2015. The schools of Rio de Janeiro united to celebrate the anniversary of Si Gung in our city, as well as the tool of our official program: "Official Visit of Leadership of MYVT."
In those times, I represented my Si Fu at his request and I had to deal along with Si Suk Ursula, Si Suk Queiroz and Si Suk Felipe. So I think the trip to Portugal came in good time. Because demonstrated that with the passing of a few years, that her disciples, accepted that same year. They could lead the process.

Do outro lado, tivemos  Pedro Lamarão à frente da Família Moy Ke Lo Si representando seu Si Fu, meu Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz.
Lembro de recentemente em um determinado evento do Núcleo Centro, ouvir Lamarão dizer que não tinha de fato participado da organização . Portanto, no novo ciclo que se seguiu, exatamente tudo o que envolvia a Cerimônia de Titulação de seu Si Fu. Pedro Lamarão foi fundamental, sempre com muito bom humor, para que tudo ficasse maravilhosamente inesquecível como todos os presentes no último Sábado puderam constatar.

On the other side, we had Pedro Lamarão at the head of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family representing his Si Fu, my Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz.
I remember recently in a certain event of the Si Suk Queiroz´s School, to hear from Lamarão that he had not really participated in the organization. So, in the new cycle that followed, exactly everything that involved the Ceremony of Senior Master Titling of his Si Fu. Pedro Lamarão was fundamental, always with a good mood, so that everything was wonderfully unforgettable as everyone present last Saturday could see.

Ainda não tinha clareado quando saí de minha nova moradia , o Mo Gun da Família Moy Fat Lei no Méier, para buscar na rodoviária o querido Si Suk Rodrigo Giarola. 

Si Suk Rodrigo Giarola é um Mestre Classe Qualificado pela Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, e um querido amigo, com o qual pude me aproximar mais nos últimos anos. 

O que muita gente fora da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence não sabe, é que se trata de um perito na confecção dos “Jiu Paai”, que são placas de madeira que servem como símbolos de legitimidade para o novo titulado. 

It was dawn when I left my new house, the Mo Gun of the Moy Fat Lei Family in Meier, to get the beloved Si Suk Rodrigo Giarola at the bus station.

Si Suk Rodrigo Giarola is a Master Class Qualified by Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence, and a dear friend, with whom I have been able to get closer in recent years.

What many people outside of Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence do not know, is that he is an ultimate expert in the making of "Jiu Paai", which are wooden boards that serve as symbols of legitimacy for the new titled.

Todo o processo de confecção destas placas, passa por uma cuidadosa escolha do tipo de madeira e do tempo certo para trabalhar na mesma. Nem muito envelhecida nem muito verde. Além disso, a constante tensão durante o entalhe do artífice , que não permite o erro.  Um entalhe equivocado, e toda madeira pode ter que ser descartada. 

Nos encontramos na rodoviária, e seguimos papeando de carro até um café em Copacabana.  Lá a conversa prosseguiu, passando por diferentes temas à respeito de carreira e escolhas profissionais e particulares minhas e dele. 

Para mim, foi um momento muito significativo, pois estamos em fases parecidas de nossas vidas, com alguns processos similares como viver em um Mo Gun. 

The entire process of making these boards involves a careful choice of the type of wood and the right time to work on it. Neither too old nor too green. In addition, the constant tension during the notch of the craftsman, which does not allow the error. A wrong notch, and all wood may have to be discarded.

We met at the bus station, and we continued to drive to a café in Copacabana. There the conversation went on, going through different topics regarding our careers and professional and personal choices of mine and him.

For me, it was a very significant moment because we are in similar phases of our lives, with some similar processes like living in a Mo Gun.

Quando cheguei com Si Fu a noite no salão do hotel, Si Gung estava ladeado por alguns membros das Famílias Moy Lin Mah e Moy Ke Lo Si. Si Suk Felipe Soares, tirava suas dúvidas sobre a condução do evento, já que seria o “Mestre de Cerimônias”(M.C.) .

Eu fiquei por ali, disponível caso fosse necessário. Outras pessoas foram chegando, incluindo meus próprios irmãos Kung Fu, e muita gente me cumprimentava. Pessoas de diferentes Núcleos e diferentes épocas, apareceram para prestigiar. 

When I arrived with Si Fu at night in the hotel lounge, Si Gung was flanked by some members of the Moy Lin Mah and Moy Ke Lo Si Families. Si Suk Felipe Soares, was talking about his doubts about the conduct of the event, since he would be the "Master of Ceremonies "(Host).

I stood around, available if I had to. Other people came, including my own Kung Fu brothers, and many people greeted me. People from different schools and different times, appeared to give prestige to the event.

Abri um sorriso quando vi Eduardo Esteves , discípulo do Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz, sempre com sua energia contagiante. E “Pulava” de uma roda de bate-papo para outra, até que a Cerimônia finalmente estava para começar. 

I opened a smile when I saw Eduardo Esteves, disciple of Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz, always with his contagious energy. And I went from one chat wheel to another, until the Ceremony was finally to begin.

Me posicionei ao lado do púlpito(foto), pois seria um “Assistente de Cerimônias”. Basicamente meu trabalho seria levar os símbolos de legitimidade da mesa de apoio até os titulandos e depois colocá-las no lugar de origem novamente.  

Parado ali na frente, enquanto os nomes dos participantes da Cerimônia eram anunciados e aplaudidos na sequência, observei cada rosto que pude

I positioned myself next to the tribune (photo), because I would be an "Assistant of Ceremonies". Basically my job would be to take the symbols of legitimacy from the support table to the new Senior Masters and then put them back in its place of origin.

Standing there at the front as the names of the participants of the Ceremony were announced and applauded in the sequence I look as many faces as I could.

Alguns destes rostos ,estavam escondidos pelas sombras ao fundo da sala, formavam silhuetas atentas ao que estava para acontecer.  Vi a Rebeka, filha de Si Suk Ursula, na primeira fila com sua avó. A mesma cena de oito anos atrás, quando ela ainda tinha dois aninhos e sua mãe era titulada Mestra Classe Qualificada.  

Some, hidden by the shadows at the far end of the room,I could see their silhouettes paying attention in  what was about to happen. I saw Rebeka, Si Suk Ursula's daughter, in the front row with her grandmother. The same scene eight years ago, when she was still two years old.

Seu gesto foi seguido pelos demais Mestres presentes até que todos ocupassem seus lugares de honra na Cerimônia. Com exceção minha e do Si Suk Felipe, que permanecêssemos em nossas posições. 

Si Gung (Photo) after being announced and applauded by those present, went to the ancestral table and bowed to the ancestors.  Si Gung fez uma breve explicação sobre cada símbolo de legitimidade a ser entregue naquela noite. Ele comentou que esta entrega esta apoiada na tradição chamada "Yi But Jan Chuen". Esta tradição refere-se ao processo no qual um monge entregava a seu discípulo sua veste e seu pote como símbolos de que seu conhecimento havia sido passado a esta pessoa. 

Si Gung começou falando do "Documento Oficial de promoção para a Classe Mestre Senior". O qual é preparado pelo emissor único de certificados : Mestre Flavio Caxiano. 

Si Gung made a brief explanation of each symbol of legitimacy to be delivered that night. He commented that this delivery is based on the tradition called "Yi But Jan Chuen". This tradition refers to the process in which a monk gave his disciple his robe and his pot as symbols that his knowledge had been passed on to this person.

Este símbolo parece despertar grande satisfação em Si Gung, já que não é a primeira vez que o escuto dizer : "Olha a qualidade das fotos... Dá pra ver melhor do que no original...(sorriso)"

Fiquei pensando no que passava na cabeça de cada um dos titulandos naquela noite a cada símbolo de legitimidade que recebiam e a cada palavra que ouviam. Si Suk Queiroz, por ser o mais antigo, foi o primeiro a ser titulado. Em suas palavras ao microfone, Si Suk agradeceu tudo que foi feito por ele à pessoas de sua família e do círculo marcial como meu Si Fu e Si Gung. Suas palavras me tocaram quando falou de seu irmão e de sua esposa.  Ele também aproveitou para ressaltar, ao ler seu discurso, da oportunidade de participar desta cerimônia em conjunto com sua irmã Kung Fu , a Mestra Ursula Lima. 

I kept thinking about what was going on in each of the new Senior Class Masters heads that night at every symbol of legitimacy they received and every word they heard. Si Suk Queiroz, being the oldest, was the first to be titled. In his words to the microphone, Si Suk thanked all that was done for him from people in his family and the martial circle as my Si Fu and Si Gung. Si Suk Ursula estava visivelmente emocionada desde o início. Perguntei para ela antes mesmo da Cerimônia começar se estava nervosa, ela sorriu e citou um imprevisto que aconteceu antes do início do evento. 

Ao entregar os símbolos de legitimidade em suas mãos, era possível ver seu sorriso e satisfação pelo que estava alcançando naquele momento. Ela agradeceu seus familiares e ao Si Fu e Si Gung, mas fez questão também de agradecer à sua Família Kung Fu Moy Lin Mah, que lhe proporciona exercer essa função sem paralelos de ser uma "Si Fu". Por fim, ela frisou o fato de termos uma "cadeira feminina" no Conselho de Mestres Seniores a partir daquele ponto. 

Si Suk Ursula was visibly moved from the start. I asked her before even the Ceremony started if she was nervous, she smiled and quoted an unforeseen event that happened before the event started.

By delivering the symbols of legitimacy into her hands, it was possible to see her smile and satisfaction at what she was achieving at that moment. She thanked her relatives and Si Fu and Si Gung, but she also thanked her Kung Fu Family Moy Lin Mah, who provides her with this unparalleled function of being a "Si Fu". Finally, she stressed the fact that we had a "female chair" on the Council of Senior Masters from that point on.

Si Fu(FOTO) estava muito emocionado em vários momentos da Cerimônia. São mais de 25 anos de trajetória , sendo que em muitos destes anos, a presença marcante dos dois novos Mestres Seniores, foi fundamental em sua carreira, assim como a sua própria, foi fundamental na carreira deles. 

Para mim, da fala de Si Fu naquela noite, o ponto mais emblemático foi quando citou seus avós, que são os mesmos de Si Suk Ursula , já que são primos. E do quanto estariam orgulhosos de vê-la naquele momento. 

Si Fu foi as lágrimas quando disse isso, assim como Si Suk Ursula que estava sentada à poucos metros de distância. A mim, surpreendeu esta fala de Si Fu, que sempre busca ser muito racional e propositivo em suas colocações.

THE TWO NEW DISCIPLES OF MOY KE LO SI FAMILY

O metrô que ligava o Jardim Oceânico até a estação Cinelândia estava parado a minha frente. As portas abertas prestes a fechar a qualquer momento. Minha querida mala preta que usei na Europa estava ali comigo também. Aguardava minha To Dai Christiana. Ela havia nos levado em seu carro saindo do Méier até ali. Estávamos em cima da hora para meu compromisso: Havia recebido a honra de ser convidado para a Terceira Cerimônia de Discipulado da Família Moy Ke Lo Si.  Olhei para o topo da escadaria e nem sinal da Chris. Ela havia ficado para trás quando aumentei o ritmo dos passos. Como não havia lembrado do bilhete do metrô, eu passei e ela ficara para comprar o seu. Naquele momento, me lembrei da lendária aventura nos trens de Barcelona com Si Fu e Claudio. Agora, lá estava eu, do outro lado da história. Cogitei por meio segundo ir e deixar a Chris caso o trem saísse, mas achei que seria uma experiencia acima do esperado para o Domínio Siu Nim Tau. Nesse momento, vi quando Chris começou a descer as escadarias, e refleti que deveria ajustar a experiência para seu momento no Sistema Ving Tsun. Assim, encostados na parede de um dos vagões, fizemos um breve pós-evento do que acontecera até ali, e nos preparamos para o que viria na sequência.

The subway train that connected the Ocean Garden Station to the Cinelandia station was standing in front of me. The doors open about to close at any moment. My dear black suitcase I carried in Europe was there with me too. I waited for my To Dai Christiana. She had taken us in her car out of the Meier neighborhood. At that moment, I remembered the legendary adventure on the Barcelona trains with Si Fu and Claudio. Now there I was, on the other side of the story. I thought for half a second to go and leave Chris if the train left, but I thought it would be an over-expected experience for the Siu Nim Tau Domain. At that moment, I watched as Chris started down the stairs, and I reflected that I should adjust the experience to her moment in the Ving Tsun System. So, leaning against the wall of one of the carriages, we made a brief post-event of what had happened so far, and prepared for what would follow.

Quando descemos na estação Cinelandia, Chris já conseguia me acompanhar mais de perto, e nos dirigimos com firmeza para o local do evento. Estava atrasado , e decidido a chegar o quanto antes. 

When we got off at the Cinelandia station, Chris was already able to follow me closer, and we walked steadily to the venue. We were late, and I was determined to get there as soon as possible.

Quando finalmente chegamos, percebi que Si Suk Queiroz havia postergado o início da Cerimônia em alguns minutos em função de meu atraso. E como já estavam todos à postos, os procedimentos cerimoniais rapidamente começaram.
De fato, não existe a figura de uma "Testemunha Honorável" formalmente falando , segundo os procedimentos de nossa organização. Mas notei que havia uma cadeira reservada para mim, próxima ao "Sam Toi" (mesa ancestral).
Um Si Fu costuma dizer que seu maior patrimônio é a Família Kung Fu, e prestes a me sentar ali. Após toda a correria para chegar, procurei me organizar internamente , para contribuir com dignidade com para honrar a posição que me foi ofertada.

When we finally arrived, I realized that Si Suk Queiroz had delayed the start of the Ceremony in a few minutes because of my delay. And since they were all ready, the ceremonial procedures quickly began.
In fact, there is no form of an "Honorable Witness" formally speaking, according to our organization's procedures. But I noticed that there was a chair reserved for me, next to the "Sam Toi" (ancestral table).
A Si Fu usually says that his greatest asset is the Kung Fu Family, and about to sit there. After all the rushing to arrive, I tried to organize myself internally, to contribute dignity with to honor the position that was offered to me.

Dudu, Lamarão, Jorge,e tantos outros "Primos Kung Fu" que tanto gosto estavam por lá. Como sempre, eles trouxeram através de suas palavras, todo o carinho que tem uns pelos outros. Além disso, essas palavras honestas, demonstram a relação próxima que eles mantém entre si. Algo deveras inspirador.
Azevedo, o primeiro a oferecer chá para o Si Suk Queiroz, lembrou-se de agradecer não só a seu Si Fu pela oportunidade, mas também a sua Si Mo. A figura de sua esposa, que estava presente, também foi lembrada como grande incentivadora de seu processo.
Assim, registra-se a importância destas figuras.

Dudu, Lamarão, Jorge, and so many other "Kung Fu Cousins" I like so much were there too. As always, they brought through their words, all the affection they have for each other. Moreover, these honest words demonstrate the close relationship that they hold with each other. Something really inspiring.
Azevedo, the first to offer tea to Si Suk Queiroz, remembered to thank not only his Si Fu for the opportunity, but also his Si Mo. The figure of his wife, who was present, was also remembered as a great incentive of his process.

Minha querida Si Suk Mo Flavia Bambrilla, que é esposa de Si Suk Queiroz e Si Mo da Família Moy Ke Lo Si.  Observa atentamente o momento em que Azevedo entrega o "Hung Baau" a seu Si Fu, em agradecimento pelo aceite do chá.
Uma "Si Mo", não necessariamente precisa ser uma praticante para ser respeitada. E , à grosso modo no caso de nossos companheiros, como a esposa do Azevedo. Ela não precisaria nem incentivar ou apoiar abertamente a trajetória de seu esposo.
François Jullien, em sua obra "Figuras da Imanência" (Figures de L'immanence - Pour une lecture philosophique du Yi King, 1993), diz que:  "... É próprio de um pensamento preocupado com a transcendência procurar explorar o outro do outro (quer dizer, aquilo em que o outro é verdadeiramente outro e pode se constituir em exterioridade). Em contraste com essa abertura para o além , é próprio de um pensamento da imanência procurar valorizar, e fazer operar, tudo o que existe de mesmo no outro e que permite sua correlação..."

Na cerimônia de "Baai Si", o chá deverá ser ofertado também à Si Mo caso haja uma, ou ao esposo de uma Si Fu. No caso desta figura ser uma mulher. Na foto acima, vemos o momento que após oferecer o chá a seu Si Fu, Leo Macedo, ladeado por seu irmão Kung Fu, o gentil Jorge Rocha. Observa sua Si Mo bebendo o chá.
Esse ato por parte dos líderes de uma Família Kung Fu, explicita simbolicamente, o compromisso assumido com o novo discípulo dali em diante, até o resto da vida e além.
Pode parecer estranho entender esse processo num primeiro momento se você não é de uma Família Kung Fu. Até porque, diante de um pensamento que é exterior tanto a nossos hábitos conceptuais como a nossas ações metafísicas mais comuns, é necessária uma assimilação pela aquisição de um costume que ultrapasse a mera compreensão. (Jullien, François. 1997). Assim, fica clara a importância do processo "Familiar" para favorecer o favorável que é a "Vida Kung Fu" como meio de acesso ao Sistema Ving Tsun.

Após a Cerimônia, fomos almoçar num hotel próximo do Mo Gun da Família Moy Ke Lo Si. Tudo num clima muito agradável. Inclusive, me chamou à atenção quando Si Suk Queiroz acalmou Leo e sua esposa, pedindo que deixassem as crianças fazerem barulhos ao longo da Cerimônia. Ele falou que isso era ótimo.
Eu e Chris estávamos apenas começando nossa aventura... O "Capítulo 1" havia sido o café da manhã no Méier e a corrida para se chegar a tempo. O "Capítulo 2" a Cerimônia de "Baai Si"... E antes mesmo que este acabasse , uma nova aventura começava no metrô em direção ao Núcleo Copacabana... Mas esta, é uma história para um outro dia...

After the Ceremony, we went with Moy Ke Lo Si Family to a hotel for lunch. All in a very pleasant atmosphere. It even caught my attention when Si Suk Queiroz calmed Leo and his wife, asking them to let the children make noises throughout the Ceremony. He said that was great.
Me and Chris were just beginning our adventure ... "Chapter 1" had been breakfast at Méier and the race to get there in time. The "Chapter 2" was Ceremony of "Baai Si" ... And even before it ended, a new adventure began on the subway to the Copacabana School ... But this is a story for another day ...

Aproveito para dizer que no próximo Sábado teremos a titulação do Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz de Mestre "Classe Senior". Junto dele, na mesma Cerimônia, estará sendo também titulada a Mestra Ursula Lima, também minha Si Suk.
Estas são duas titulações muito especiais para o Ving Tsun do Rio de Janeiro, não só para à Linhagem Moy Yat, mas como um todo. Devido a excelência profissional destas duas pessoas. Sorte aos dois!

I would like to say that next Saturday we will have the titling of Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz to the "Senior Master" Class of MOy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence

Rio de Janeiro's Downtown MYVTMI Branch new school

Era uma manhã muito agradável, e eu fazia um de meus caminhos preferidos: Pegar o metrô do Jardim Oceanico em direção a Zona Sul. O metrô estava vazio, algumas pessoas com trajes casuais naquele Sábado de manhã, me olhavam desconfiadas, já que com aquela mochila preta junto da roupa que vestia, me fazia parecer um estagiário de Direito.
Apesar disso, passar ali é sempre muito bom, pois de dentro do metrô pode-se ver uma linda paisagem da Barra da Tijuca.
Eu estava em cima da hora. Havia me sentido mal naquela manhã e Iuri, meu irmão mais novo, foi na frente com Si Fu. Para não atrasá-los, saí de casa mais tarde. Porém, estava muito bem disposto àquela altura. Desci na estação Cinelândia com três minutos para o horário marcado, mas foi tempo suficiente para me perder. Então precisei correr ! Acabei rindo sozinho, porque para mim é impossível correr enquanto estou com pouco tempo para um compromisso,e não lembrar da música "March Of The Swivelheads" .
Finalmente cheguei ao prédio onde está alocada a nova sede do Núcleo Centro que é dirigido pelo querido Mestre Ricardo Queiroz...


It was a very pleasant morning, and I was in one of my favorite routes: Take the subway from Jardim Oceanico Station toward the South Zone. The subway was empty, some people in casual clothes that Saturday morning looked at me suspiciously, since with that one black backpack next and the suit I wore, made me look like a Law intern.
Despite this, passing there is always very good, because from the subway you can see a beautiful landscape of Barra da Tijuca.
I was just on time. I was sick that early morning and Iuri, my younger Kung Fu brother, went ahead with Si Fu. So as not to delay them, I left home later. But I was very well disposed by then. I got off at Cinelandia station three minutes into the scheduled time, but it was long enough to get lost. Then I had to run! I ended up laughing on my own, because it's impossible for me to run while I'm short on commitment, and do not remember the song "March Of The Swivelheads."
Finally I arrived at the building where the new headquarters of the Rio de Janeiro's Downtown MYVTMI Branch is located , wich is directed by the beloved Master Ricardo Queiroz ...

Sempre sou incrivelmente bem recebido quando vou ao Núcleo Centro. As pessoas me recebem com tanto carinho que me sinto plenamente acolhido. Dessa vez, não só a hospitalidade me chamava a atenção, mas também a incrível nova residência da Família Moy Ke Lo Si, liderada pelo meu Si Suk Ricardo e sua esposa, Si Suk Mo Flavia.
Ao entrar, uma das salas, é uma incrível "living room", onde já se encontravam meu Si Fu e Si Suk Diego. Si Fu me cumprimentou e disse: "Chegamos tem uns três minutos." - Já havia encontrado Iuri próximo a porta.
Estava tudo muito bonito, e resolvi dar uma volta pelo local para ver os outros inspiradores cômodos do novo Mo Gun. E entre apertos de mãos e abraços, pude presenciar todo o esmero da Família Moy Ke Lo Si representado em pequenos detalhes.

I am always incredibly well received when I am at Rio de Janeiro's Downtown MYVTMI Branch . People welcome me with such love that I feel fully welcomed. This time, not only did the hospitality attract me, but also the incredible new home of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family, led by my Si Suk Ricardo and his wife, Si Suk Mo Flavia.
Upon entering, one of the rooms, is an incredible "living room", where were already my Si Fu and Si Suk Diego. Si Fu greeted me and said, "We' just arrived."-  I had already found Iuri near the door.
The place was all very beautiful, and I decided to go around the place to see the other inspiring rooms of the new Mo Gun. And between handshakes and hugs, I was able to witness all the dedication of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family represented in small details.

Si Suk Ricardo fez um emocionante discurso antes de puxar a fita vermelha para inaugurar o novo Mo Gun. Sua esposa, Si Suk Mo Flavia, coordenava cada etapa da Cerimônia que se seguia. Com muita felicidade, comunicou a todos que havia sido convidada para fazer o Baai Si com Si Gung, estreitando ainda mais sua relação com ele.
Me chamou à atenção o texto lido em referência aos ancestrais. Nunca tinha escutado, e decidi que perguntaria mais sobre aquilo para Si Gung no evento do Núcleo Freguesia, o que acabei fazendo, já que imaginei que aquele trecho em particular houvesse sido orientado por ele.

Si Suk Ricardo made an emotional speech before pulling out the red ribbon to usher in the new Mo Gun. His wife, Si Suk Mo Flavia, coordinated every stage of the Ceremony that followed. With great happiness she informed everyone that she had been invited to do Baai Si with Si Gung, further tightening her relationship with him.
I was struck by the text read in reference to the ancestors. I had never heard it, and decided that I would ask more about that for Si Gung at the Freguesia MYVTMI Branch event, which I did, since I imagined that particular passage had been directed by him.

Tem uma música que gosto muito chamada "Regra do Jogo" da dupla Sá e Guarabyra. Talvez você nunca tenha ouvido falar, mas era parte da trilha sonora da novela "Pedra Sobre Pedra" da Rede Globo, e me lembra a minha infância. Em certa parte desta música a letra diz:
"...A vida dá volta e virada
Quem entra despreza quem sai . 
O tempo embaralha a jogada
Quem sobe não olha quem cai
É regra do jogo
É regra do jogo
É ferro e é fogo
A regra do jogo..."
Acho que de certa forma, assim também é o Ving Tsun: Cada Domínio, com seus próprios limites. E assim, também com suas próprias regras. Aos poucos muitos ficam pelo Caminho, e poucos seguem nele. E foi em cada palavra emocionada compartilhada naquela manhã, que nos foi possível presenciar , também emocionados. Como cada membro da Família Moy Ke Lo Si , precisou entender a regra do jogo para seguirem seus próprios Caminhos dentro e fora dos Domínios que estavam estudando.

There is a brazilian song that I like a lot called "Rule of the Game" by the duet Sá and Guarabyra. Maybe you've never heard of it, but it was part of the soundtrack of Rede Globo's  "Stone on Stone"(Pedra Sobre Pedra) soap opera, and it reminds me of my childhood. In a certain part of this song the lyrics say:
"Life turns and turns
Whoever enters, despises those who leave.
Time shuffles the move
Who rises does not look who falls
It is the rule of the game
It is the rule of the game
It's iron and it's fire.
The Rules of the Game..."
I think in a way, so is Ving Tsun: Each Domain, with its own limits. And so, also with its own rules. Little by little, many leave the Way, and few follow in it. And it was in every emotional word shared that morning that we were able to witness, also thrilled. As each member of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family needed to understand the game rule to follow their own Paths in and out of the Domains they were studying.

Ao final houve um delicioso almoço promovido pelos membros da Família Moy Ke Lo Si com diferentes pratos, com destaque, para a empada preparada pela Si Suk Mo Flavia, Co-Líder da Família Moy Ke Lo Si.
Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz é alguém que não mede esforços para se fazer presente nos eventos das outras Famílias do Rio. Em cada uma de suas participações, sempre com muito carinho, fala diretamente para cada pessoa como se naquele momento só ela existisse em todo o universo. E talvez, seja também por essa razão dentre tantas outras, que estávamos todos ali muito felizes. Si Suk Ursula (foto) saiu direto de outro compromisso para lá, mas um de seus principais discípulos, André Villarreal chegara antes.

In the end there was a delicious lunch promoted by members of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family with different dishes, with emphasis on the patty prepared by Si Suk Mo Flavia, Co-Leader of the Moy Ke Lo Si Family.
Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz is someone who makes no effort to be present at the events of the other families of Rio. In each of his participations, always with great affection, speaks directly to each person as if at that moment only that person aloneexisted throughout the universe . And maybe, for that reason, we were all very happy there. Si Suk Ursula (photo) left straight from another appointment to get there, but one of her main disciples, Andre Villarreal had arrived earlier.

Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz sempre reserva espaço para homenagear de alguma forma meu Si Fu Julio Camacho, seu Si Hing que parece inspirá-lo até hoje, geralmente fazendo ele ficar com os olhos marejados ao falar desta relação. O mesmo acontece com meu Si Fu, ao ouvir tais palavras de afeto.

Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz always reserves space to honor in some way my Si Fu Julio Camacho, his Si Hing that seems to inspire him to this day, usually making him look with water on his eyes when talking about this relationship. So does my Si Fu, on hearing such words of affection.

Infelizmente precisei sair mais cedo, e com tantas pessoas especiais e comida gostosa à mesa foi de fato uma pena. Andava como se não houvesse amanhã na Tijuca sob sol quente para meu compromisso seguinte. Confesso que foi difícil andar a Rua Uruguai toda pensando na empada que ficara para trás.  Mas feliz , por ter participado de mais um processo tão inspirador promovido pela Família Moy Ke Lo Si. Uma Família que celebra as relações a cada palavra, a cada sorriso e gargalhada...Mas também em cada lágrima... Quem sabe, não resida aí o segredo de seu sucesso?

Unfortunately I had to leave early, and with so many special people and delicious food at the table it was indeed a shame. I walked as if there were no tomorrow in Tijuca neighborhood later in the hot sun for my next appointment. I confess that it was difficult to walk down Uruguay Street thinking about the patty cake that was left behind. But happy to have participated in yet another inspiring process promoted by the Moy Ke Lo Si Family. A Family that celebrates relationships with every word, every smile and laugh ... But also in every tear ... Who knows, this is the secret of its success ?
