ENJOYING BIRTHDAY WITH DISCIPLES

(Almoço com Vitor e Cayo, no dia do meu aniversário de 36 anos)

No último Sábado, completei 36 anos de idade. E diferente de outros anos, aconteceu um almoço entre eu e meus dois discípulos: Vitor Sá e Cayo Cesar.
Em nosso Grande Clã Moy Yat Sang, é comum que na data de aniversário da maioria das lideranças de Família Kung Fu, haja uma organização orientada por parte dos alunos. Com isso, eles organizam uma festa de celebração que envolvem muitas pessoas e muitas vezes, muitas horas de trabalho e dedicação.
Para este ano, conversei muito com Si Fu sobre a celebração do meu aniversário. Quis tentar entender, como ele enxerga esse tipo de celebração. Si Fu falou com muita tranquilidade sobre a importância estratégica de uma Família Kung Fu ter ao menos uma data celebrativa durante o ano. Porém, disse ele também, que cabe ao líder da Família, decidir o que prefere.
Assim sendo, depois de muito refletir, achei melhor não fazer nenhum alarde mais sobre a data do meu aniversário ou qualquer tipo de celebração. E foi bem interessante, receber a surpresa na noite anterior dos meus To Dai, de um belíssimo bolo e um presente especial durante um jantar em função dos meus vinte anos na Família Kung Fu.
Já no Sábado, quando completava de fato 36 anos, fui convidado para um almoço com Vitor e Cayo, no lendário Rio´s Gourmet. Restaurante que acolheu a Família Kung Fu por tantas vezes no Méier.

Last Saturday, I turned 36 years old. Different of other years, I had lunch with two disciples: Vitor Sa and Cayo Cesar.
In our Great Moy Yat Sang Clan, it is common for birthday dates from key leaders of the Kung Fu family to have an oriented organization. With this, the students organize a celebration party that involves many people and often many hours of work and dedication.
For this year, I talk a lot with Si Fu about the celebration of my birthday celebration. It is trying to understand how he sees this kind of participation. Si Fu spoke very calmly about the strategic importance of a Kung Fu family, at least one commemorative date during the year. But, he also said, it is up to the Family leader to decide or prefer.
Therefore, after much thought, I thought it best not to make any further alarms about my birthday  or any kind of celebration. It was very interesting to receive a surprise the night before from my To Dai, a beautiful cake and a special gift during a dinner for my twenties in the Kung Fu Family.
On Saturday, when I was 36, I was invited to lunch with Vitor and Cayo at the legendary Rio´s Gourmet. Restaurant that accepts the Kung Fu Family for so many times in Méier.

Acontece que as manhãs de Sábado começam bem cedo com os cafés da manhã. Os participantes variam, mas meu discípulo Matheus Alves, sempre está presente.
Acredito depois de um dia de momentos tão intimistas com meus discípulos, que foi uma decisão acertada. Deixar um "vazio" a ser preenchido para quem desejar estar presente, parece-me agora um bom caminho para começar.

It turns out that Saturday mornings start early with breakfast. Participants vary, but my disciple Matheus Alves is always present.
I believe after a day of such intimate moments with my disciples, it was a wise decision. Leaving a "void" to be filled for those who wish to be present now seems a good way to start.
