VING TSUN LONG POLE SPECIAL: PART 3

"Moy Yat talks to Ip Ching, the 'Gwaan Wong' and the pole on the floor."

Ip Ching (a direita) é um dos filhos do Patriarca Ip Man e certa vez grão-Mestre Moy Yat(esquerda) curioso com o passado de seu 

Si Fu Ip Man, perguntou a este seu filho sobre este período de sua vida antes de chegar a Hong Kong.

Ip Ching(right) is one of the sons of Ip Man and once grand-Master Moy Yat(left) was curious about their Si Fu background.So he asked to Ip Ching about it.

Ip Ching comentou entre as informações que deu, que Ip Man estava muito bem preparado para ensinar Ving Tsun em Hong Kong pois ainda em FatSan, em sua Família Kung Fu liderada por seu Si Fu Chan Wah Shun(Jau Chin Wa)[que você confere a história AQUI e AQUI) Ip Man auxiliava Chan Yu Ming, filho de Chan Wah Shun a coordenar treinos.

Ip Ching said that Ip Man was very well prepared to teach Ving Tsun,  'cause he spent some time in FatSan(before go to HOng Kong) supporting Chan Yu Ming (his Si Fu's son and his Si Hing) during the trainnings sessions. Ip Man and Chan Yu Ming´s Si Fu was Chan Wah Shun. You can read his story HERE and HERE.

Este dado é muito interessante, pois muita gente não percebe que transmitir o Ving Tsun é um processo diferente de "aprender para si mesmo".

This is very interesting 'cause a lot of people does not understand that "leanr for theirselves" is different from "learn for teach oneself".

七省棍王 (Chat Saang Gwan Wong)

 Chan Yu Ming era Si Hing de Ip Man e filho e discípulo do 

Si Fu de Ip man: Chan Wah Shun.

Hoje Chan Yu Ming é mais um personagem lendário do Ving Tsun exatamente graças ao Luk Din Bun Gwaan, mas ao que se conta, nem sempre foi assim.

Chan Yu Ming was Si Hing of Ip Man and son and also disciple of Chan Wah Shun.

Nowadays, Chan Yu Ming is a legendary character in Ving Tsun legacy, but there was a time that the things dont work this way.

Seu pai e Si Fu, Chan Wah Shun foi o responsável pelo Ving Tsun em Fat San ter ganhado o apelido de

"SIU YE KUEN"

少 (Siu) - jovem

爷(Ye) - senhor

拳(kuen) - punho

"O punho dos jovens senhores" 

His father and Si Fu, Chan Wah Shun, was responsible for the Ving Tsun receive the nickname of "SIU YE KUEN"

Quem assistiu a novela "YONG CHUN(wing Chun)" de 2007, vai lembrar que o personagem de Nicolas Tse(no meio) , Leung Bik, era chamado de "BI SHAO YE" (Bik Siu ye ou "Jovem Senhor Bik"). Exatamente a pronúncia de "Siu Ye" em mandarim. Isso porque Leung Bik e seu irmão eram da Família Leung, de renome e status em FatSan. Por isso ao se dirigirem a eles os personagens os chamavam de "Jovens Senhores".

For you that watched the 2007 Tv series "WING CHUN(aka Young Chun)" , will remember that the Nicolas Tse(in the middle) character was Leung Bik (Leung Jaan´s son). But some people called him as "Bi Shao Ye".

Thats 'cause "Shao Ye" is the mandarin pronunciation for "Siu Ye" and as Leung Bik (Liang Bi) was a boy from a renomed family he was considered a "Siu Ye" ( a "Young lord" or also "Young master").

Meu Si Fu Julio Camacho com Si Gung Leo Imamura e o Clã Moy Yat visitaram o Mo Gun de Chan Wah Shun em sua vila natal em Shun De em Novembro passado. 

My Si Fu Julio Camacho(11G VT) and my Si Gung Leo Imamura(10G VT) and the Moy Yat Clan visited Chan Wah Shun's old Mo Gun last November.

O Ving era ensinado para os "Jovens Senhores" de FatSan por Chan Wah Shun, entre estes "Jovens Senhores" estava o próprio Ip Man herdeiro de uma Família riquíssima:

"Meu avô gerenciava as finanças da Família Ip. Nós possuíamos restaurantes, funerárias e o famoso Jardim Song onde a comida para os bichos da seda crescia. O Jardim Song ocupava uma grande área, mas o governo precisou passar uma estrada sobre ele dando o nome depois de Estrada Fuk Yin depois que meu avô morreu. Essa estrada não é distante da Chopstick Street onde viveu Leung Jaan." - disse Ip Ching a Moy Yat.

The Ving Tsun was teached to the "Young Lords" of FatSan by Chan Wah Shun, and between those young ones, there was the most famous 'till today: IP MAN

"My grandpa managed the Ip Family finances. We owned restaurants, funeral houses and the famous Song Garden where the food for silk worms grow. The Song Garden was very huge and the goverment needed to make a road in the same place. So, after my grandpa dies the road was called Fuk Yin. This road is very near to Chopstick street, where Leung Jaan lived." - said Ip Ching to Moy Yat.

Estes Jovens Senhores talvez não fossem crianças faceis de lidar, mas Chan Wah Shun conseguiu consquistá-los tornando o Ving Tsun famoso entre elas.

Porém, foi logo com seu filho, Chan Yu Ming, que Chan Wah Shun teria mais problemas.

Those "Young Lords" could be hard to deal, but Chan Wah Shun using his Kung Fu did it, and make the system famous between then.

But exactly with his son, Chan Yu Ming, he had a lot of troubles.

Chan Yu Ming sempre criava problemas e mais problemas, trazendo muitas "dores de cabeça" para seu pai. 

Chan Yu Ming não parou enquanto seu pai não faleceu.

Sentindo-se culpado por seu pai ter morrido sem vê-lo mudar sua personalidade, Chan Yu Ming prometeu a seu pai em seu túmulo que se tornaria um dos maiores praticantes de Ving Tsun de todos os tempos, como forma de pagar esta dívida e poder encarar seu pai e Si Fu no outro mundo depois.

Chan Yu Ming was a troublemaker , and did not stop 'till his father and Si Fu dies. So Chan Yu Ming promised to his father in his grave that he woul become one of the most well known Ving Tsun practitioners of all time. So this way he could face his father in the other world.

My Si Fu Julio Camacho(11G VT) , Si Gung Leo(10G VT) and Moy Yat Clan in Chan Wah Shun grave last November.

Chan Yu Ming então resolveu participar do "Torneio das 7 províncias"  usando o Luk Din Bun Gwaan.
Chan Yu Ming obteve uma vitória tão impressionante, que ao terminar de derrotar todos os praticantes ainda pediu por mais duas lutas que também venceu facilmente.

Chan Yu Ming decided to participate of the "SEVEN PROVINCES TOURNAMENT" using the staff(Luk Din Bun Gwaan. 

Chan Yu Ming won so easily that he asked for more two matches, and he won again.

So, as a trophy he received a pole and hang that above his Mo Gun door.

Por esse motivo, Chan Yu Ming ganhou o apelido de 七省棍王 (Chat Saang Gwan Wong) ou "Rei do Bastão das sete províncias."
Como troféu, Chan Yu Ming recebeu um bastão que permaneceu pendurado na entrada de seu Mo Gun em ShunDe. E assim ele se tornou um personagem lendário no Ving Tsun moderno.

So, since that day he is known as 七省棍王 (Chat Saang Gwan Wong) or "The King of the pole of the seven provinces".

Na foto rara abaixo, vemos Ip man entre seus filhos. 
Ip Chun que foi representado em "IP MAN 1" e "IP MAN 2" ainda criança está a esquerda. E Ip Ching a direita.

Ip Chun(left) was played in IP MAN 1 and IP MAN 2. And Ip Ching is on the right.

 A VING TSUN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION havia sido fundada e muitos praticantes que não apareciam ha muito tempo compareceram. Porém, alguém havia deixado um Luk Din Bun Gwaan (bastão de seis pontos e meio) jogado no meio do chão.  E alguém sem segurar a curiosidade gritou: "Vamos deixar que um Si Hing demonstre o Luk Din Bun Gwaan. Todos fiquem quietos!"


The VING TSUN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION was founded and a lot of Ving Tsun fellas that did not show up for a long time come this day. Someone had let a staff(Luk Din Bun Gwaan) on the ground and some guy said: "Lets some Si Hing show us the Luk Din Bun Gwaan. Stay wuiet!"



Segundo grão-Mestre Moy Yat, um Si Hing pegou o bastão e começou a balançá-lo dando alguns poderosos golpes. Depois um segundo, um terceiro, até que os Si Hing tivessem juntos feito todas as partes da sequência com o bastão.


Aquilo criou uma atmosfera de que qualquer um ali que não pegasse o bastão e o usasse, não sabia de fato como fazê-lo.

Grand Master Moy Yat said that a Si Hing took the Gwaan and started to swing it striking with power. So another one took it and another one, 'till complete the entire Luk Din Bun Gwaan sequence.

That created an atmosphere where anyone that did not take the staff , was also saying that did not know how to do it.



Finalmente Ip Ching entrou na sala e todos ficaram em silêncio. Segundo grão-Mestre Moy Yat, os olhos de todos se arregalaram pois todos esperavam ver a "verdadeira sequência" do bastão.Ele parou perto do bastão e a esperança de todos começou a crescer: "Eu tenho que ir, tenho coisas pra fazer." - disse ele antes de voltar a andar e sair pela porta.

So, finally Ip Ching come and everybody stayed quiet. Grand Master Moy Yat said that everybody´s eyes stay alert, 'cause they woul see the real staff sequence. 

Ip Ching stood up in front of the Gwaan and everybody´s hopes start to raise, but he said: "I´ll go now, I had some stuff to do."



"Sem tocar no Gwaan(bastão) eu olhei em volta na sala e percebi que ninguém ali de fato entendia o Luk Din Bun Gwaan. Então eu segui Ip Ching pela porta".- disse Moy Yat - "...O Luk Din Bun Gwaan não é muito bem conhecido,mas eu acho exagero dizer que esta sequência está sendo perdida" - completou grão-Mestre Moy Yat sobre este evento.

Without touch the Gwaan I looked around and notice that no one there know how to do it indeed, so I follow Ip Ching trough the door. 

"The Luk Din Bun Gwaan is not very well known but we can not say that this art is being lost" - said Moy Yat
