Si Suk Ursula´s Kung Fu Family Tenth Year

Inclusive a minha.

When Si Suk Ursula received her Master's Degree from Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence . Si Gung said something very important in his speech: He would have said, that she has already started this new phase of her trajectory, with a challenge that no other Master  has yet had: Besides being a Master, she was also a mother and wife. Si Gung pointed out a limited social perception that differentiates a way of looking at a man's dedication to his work, compared to a woman. And that was a factor that left me thinking years later, when during some Moy Fei Lap Family's Ceremony, Si Suk Ursula literally ran (or walked fast) in the end of it. Because right after that, she had to attend some presentation of her daughter Rebeka in her school. See: It was a Saturday afternoon, and even after a long and challeging week, performing as several cumulative functions that her career requires, she attended that Ceremony to prestigious her  Kung Fu brother and to make her family present. And that, of course, happened in so many other events, trips and nights spent at her Mo Gun.
Si Suk Ursula lives with her family in the West Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro and her Mo Gun(Schools) are usually located along  Nossa Senhora de Copacabana Avenue, which is in the South Zone. For those who do not know the city, it is quite distant, even by car. Beside that, there is the difficulty of finding a parking space when arriving in Copacabana- "I know a boy here who keeps a parking space for me, but he is not here today". - She said to me while looking for a parking lot for her car. On another occasion, I accompanied her to where her car was on the street  at a time that is not so good for wandering around. These are small passages, which show the challenges of a Si Fu, to prove the best to his/her To Dai. Moments like these are so simple, that they often go unnoticed by the majority. So you see that student send an uncompromised message at the last minute saying: "Si Fu, today I can't go".
Si Suk Ursula started working in the South Zone region in Ipanema in a space with other activities. One day, when the owner would sell the place, and from there a countdown begins: Si Suk Ursula had little time to decide what to do and where to go.- "Would the students follow her?" - Si Suk Ursula accepted the challenge and found a very well divided room in Copacabana. Her first students and some others from the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family helped to set up this place. I loved attending that Mo Gun. I thought it was a very pleasant place and being with Si Suk Ursula was always very good. So when one day I arrived and accompanied her and some of her students, to a property in the same neighborhood. I found out that she wants to move and I didn't understand. Si Suk Ursula seems to have developed at that moment, a skill punctuated by Si Gung on some of his visits: A leader that should feel the things in the air.
When the Moy Lin Mah Family moved to the new address, Rebeka was already older, and used to show up at some events. Whether at these times or at other times when I could see the relationship of Si Suk and her daughter. I have always seen a daughter very much in love with her mother. Sometimes I die laughing when I see a video of the two on some Rebeka´s social network playing around. Si Suk Ursula from the martial arts circles has a  very penetrating eyes, and so in the videos her strong eyes are still there, but she is playing with her daughter. So there are some funny scenes of mother and daughter out there.
On another occasion, I was with Si Suk in her car  driving down some Copacabana street towards her Mo Gun. I told her how lucky she was to find a partner who understood her profession so well. She replied laughing, "There was nothing about lucky! There was a lot of work for both of us." - Her husband Ricardo Lopes, created a very special partnership in the management of the Moy Lin Mah Family with her. I say that, because the students are super in love with Ricardo and get excited every time they are with him.
My Si Fu says that the celebration day "Does not count". What "counts" is what happens between that day and the next year. And thinking about everything that happened behind the scenes of each challenge experienced by the young Master (the first in Latin America in this martial art). I believe it has been very successful. After all, she has brilliantly managed to honor the challenge punctuated by her Si Fu on the day of her Master´s Degree Qualification. Because there is no "Valentine's Day" or "Wedding Anniversary", that her husband does not make a public statement to her as if they were still starting their relationship in 1995. As well, just by the tone of her daughter's voice and smile by addressing it to her, we can see how much love there is. And that, with all the seemingly endless commitments that have involved and involve her career in these ten years.

Congratulations to my Si Suk Ursula, for her daily courage, in continuing to transform lives. Including mine.

10 years in Moy Jo Lei Ou Family

(Photo with Si Fu during one of my birthdays)

On March 10, 2007, I joined the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family (photo), which is lead by Master Julio Camacho, who became a Si Fu.
Due to the old "Blog do Pereira", many people have been able to follow all my development in the last ten years, from various parts of the world. Through the articles, people coul know better about my relationship with my Si Fu. But I am not the only disciple . Si Fu has many others, who live and lived many adventures with him in the same way. Also, they are mistaken that they think that a "Kung Fu Life" are just tough moments or good times. Because as in our daily life, everything is intertwined, and it is this relationship of duality of life that makes it rich ...

Rio de Janeiro, 10 de Março de 2007
Rio, March , 10 .  2007

(In the foreground I am a bit nervous about the Ceremony that would change my path in Ving Tsun. In the background, there is Jade, Si Fu's eldest daughter, holding a message from her mother to those present at that Ceremony that she read very well on the microphone.)

Sempre estava ouvindo "Umbrella" e "What I´ve Done" naquele aparelho...

I had bought my first blue MP3 with only 250 MB and could fit about 60 songs in it. The sky was the limit! I was always listening  "Umbrella" and "What I've Done" songs in that device ... And in this era of technological progress, at least for me, I attended the XVII Traditional Ceremony of our Family, in which I would join the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family .
The ceremony took place at the house of a Kung Fu sister called Xenia D'avila, who two months later would do Baai Si together with me.

(With my Gaai Siu Yan, Master Ursula Lima, leader of Moy Lin Mah Family)

I had made this decision to join the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family, because since 1999 as a member of the Moy Yat Sang Family, I had start a growing feeling for the figure of Master Julio Camacho, who was with whom I actually lived on the day to day and that not only transmitted to me the Ving Tsun System, but mainly, teachings and lessons that would change my life forever ...
It was thanks to my Si Hing, Master Leonardo Reis, that this possibility was opened. Because he was the one who with persistence managed to be the first member to make this way, opening a trail for so many others.
Thanks to this movement, I felt like "Rocketeer" with a rocket in the back from there, everything came to fit. I was "embraced" by Kung Fu brothers like Paula Gama and other people to whom I had the greatest deference as Master Ursula, I could have a much deeper relation of respect, for being now in a generation below.

Naquela Cerimônia, também ingressou na Família Moy Jo Lei Ou
Vladimir Anchieta(foto), e juntos também fomos excepcionalmente autorizados
a acessar os estudos do Domínio "Luk Dim Bun Gwaan".

At that Ceremony, also joined the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family, Vladimir Anchieta (photo), and together we were also exceptionally allowed to access the studies of the "Luk Dim Bun Gwaan" Domain.

Getting into a Kung Fu Family for me is about a feeling hard to put into words. It is not just a group of people so close that they treat themselves as Family. I see today that it is a Family indeed.
Entering into the Moy Jo Lei Ou Family ,  has changed my life forever. This symbolic act enabled me to live a life I would call "epic." Not because of great feats or great moments, only, but mainly of that detail of the relationship or an experience that would go unnoticed if it were not because of Si Fu or his memory inside me to keep me aware of it.

(I and Vladimir presented our  "Da Hung Jong" during the Ceremony.Of course, of all the hassles I promoted in my Ceremonies, this "Da Hung Jong" is on the list! lol)

Sometimes I quoted a speech attributed to Si Taai Gung Moy Yat, in which he would have said, "No matter how many Hung Baau you would give to your Si Fu, you will never be able to pay what he did for you." "Perhaps there is no phrase that best expresses this feeling of gratitude. For when in life you discover that your "greatest enemies" are not liable to be hit with hands and feet because they are a dismissal, a lack of money, a disappointment, a loss, etc ... At that time, you understands that phrase completely.
(Eu, minha Si Suk Ursula e meu Si fu)
(Si Fu, Si Suk Ursula and I)

I can remember the first time Si Fu looked at me laughing and asked if I had ever thought bad of him. I replied that I did not nearly feel it! I said that almost outraged by such a question. Years later, in conversation with him about a process in which I am leading, I could hear something like: "Pereira, you know the truth? You can not be in that position"- He paused, and stared at me while we were at the Mo Gun alone. He went on: "... But you also had no condition whatsoever to get where you arrived, and look at this: today you are a Si Fu ..." - Said smiling and asked, "Think honestly: Try to remember about yourself ten years ago what were your real chances of being a Si Fu today? "  - I smiled involuntarily, and also involuntarily caught myself responding" Yeah. "-  "That's why Pereira ..." - Said Si Fu - "That I think that although you do not have conditions today, you may come to have.Because at various other times, you not only did not think you had, but a lot of times tried to convince me of this ... " - Si Fu stopped, and seemed to remember some of these passages and completed:" ... You do not know how many times you almost asked me to give you up ... But today we are here, with you as a Si Fu. So, try harder on this subject. "
