New Legends of Kung Fu Masters : Respect in the martial arts [ Respeito nas Artes Marciais]

O que você entende por respeito? Eu nunca havia pensado muito sobre isso até começar entrar pra Família Kung Fu.  Pra falar a verdade, nem sabia o que isso significava. Ultimamente tenho pensado sobre isso.

What is respect for you? I had never really thought about it until I joined the Kung Fu Family. As a matter of fact, I did not even know what that meant. Lately I´ve thought a lot about it.

Lembro da primeira vez em que vi meu Si Fu. Foi em 2012. Eu era membro do Ving Tsun Experience no núcleo Méier e estava acompanhando o convite de Si Je Lidiane Lima e Si Hing Marcus Vinícius de entrada na família. Foi uma visão muito esquisita pra mim. Esperava que ele tivesse barba, fosse mais velho, e que falasse de maneira mais exótica. Mas ao contrário disso, parecia não se destacar em nada. Lembro de ter saído pensando que eu não devia estar captando alguma coisa. Si Hing Pereira falava dele com tanto orgulho...


I remember the first time I saw my Si Fu. It was 2012. I was a member of the Ving Tsun Experience in Meier branch and was following the invitation  of Si Je Lidiane Lima and Si Hing Marcus Vinicius to join the Kung Fu Family. It was a very strange sight to me. Hoped he had a long white beard, he was older, and  speak trough a more exotic way. But on the contrary, he seemed to stand out at all. I remember going out thinking I should not be picking up something. Si Hing Pereira used to spoke of him so proudly ...

Ainda em 2012, quando eu tentava explicar à alguém sobre minha prática marcial, era sempre muito difícil. As pessoas não me entendiam, e quase sempre acabávamos debatendo sobre questões culturais. Depois percebi que não só era desnecessário tentar convencer as pessoas sobre o que eu achava, como também que, em geral, eu não conseguia me comunicar muito bem.

In 2012, every time I tried to explain to someone about my martial practice, I had much difficult. People did not understand me, and we, almost aways, ended debating cultural issues. Then I realized that it was not only unnecessary to try to convince people about what I thought, but that, in general, I could not communicate very well.

Meu nome é André Almeida. Hoje sou Membro Vitalício (Dai Ji), e sinto um orgulho muito grande pelo meu Si Fu, Júlio Camacho. Tenho tido a oportunidade de estar com ele dentro e fora do círculo marcial (Mo Lan), e tem sido uma experiência muito rica. As vezes fico me perguntando sobre como Si Fu consegue fazer certas coisas. Tento perceber os ajustes que ele faz para se comunicar com alguém do Ving Tsun Experience ou com algum discípulo. A diferença é muito grande. E todos respeitam ele. Aliás, acho que esse é o diferencial. Ele faz as coisas com respeito, e falo de respeito no sentido de "olhar novamente", ou seja, um olhar que apreende as atualizações. E isso é muito difícil, exige, sem dúvida, alto nível de kung fu.

My name is André Almeida. Today, I´m a disciple ( Dai Ji) of Si Fu Júlio Camacho, and I´m very proud of him. I have been having the opportunity to be with him inside and outside the martial circle (Mo Lan), and it has been a very rich experience. Sometimes I ask myself about how Si Fu can do certain things. I try to understand the adjustments he makes to communicate with someone from Ving Tsun Experience or a disciple. There´s a huge difference between then. And they all respect him. By the way, I think that's the differential. He does things with respect, and I mean respect in the sense of "look newly", ie, a look that apprehend the changes .And this is very difficult, requires undoubtedly a high level of kung fu.

No início do ano passado ele me disse que estava escrevendo uma série chamada DDD 21. Esse ano, com o roteiro pronto, já começou a produção. Tenho acompanhado esse projeto, junto a alguns irmãos kung fu, com uma certa proximidade. Dentre eles, Rodrigo Moreira, que fez uma postagem sobre isso (CLIQUE AQUI)

Early last year he told me he was writing a series called DDD 21. This year, with the script prepared, the production has begun. I have been following this project, with some kung fu brothers, with a certain proximity. Among them Rodrigo Moreira, who made a post about it.

É fascinante estar no set de filmagem e ver como Si Fu se relaciona com pessoas de um meio tão diferente. Parece que ele sempre conviveu com aquilo, que nunca ouviu falar em arte marcial. Diferente dos produtores ou do diretor, ele não conhece as minúcias daquele círculo, não está acostumado a lidar com aquelas situações, e resolve tudo com naturalidade. Vejo aí a mesma habilidade que presencio quando estamos em família.
Acredito que o sucesso dessa série (não tenho dúvida alguma sobre esse sucesso, aliás) se apoia totalmente no kung fu de Si Fu. E acredito também que esse nível tão grande de kung fu está intimamente associado com essa capacidade de respeitar.

It is fascinating to be on the set and see how Si Fu relates to people of a means so different. It seems he always lived with that, that  he would ever heard of martial arts. 
Unlike the producers and director, he does not know the details of that circle, he´s not used to dealing with those situations but he solves everything with ease. There I see the same skill that I witness when we are inside the Family.
I believe the success of this series (I have no doubt about that success, by the way) fully supportson the kung fu of Si Fu. I also believe that this level so great of kung fu is closely associated with this ability to respect.
