SI FU TALKS: "SYMBOLS"

Em alguns momento em que lembrava que Si Fu estava para se mudar para os EUA, me perguntava como seria nosso contato a partir dali. Porém, graças a quarentena, temos tido a oportunidade de nos falarmos por ferramentas como SKYPE, por uma hora, às vezes até mais do que isso. Sobre temas que costumo levar e que me faltam algum nível de esclarecimento. 
Sobre esses fragmentos de memória desses encontros, chamarei de "Si Fu Talks". Sempre compartilhando um pouco do que conversamos, como foi o caso de nosso encontro remoto de ontem, no qual Si Fu falou sobre "Símbolos". Em especial, o símbolo da Família Moy Jo Lei Ou e Moy Fat Lei. 

In some moments when I remembered that Si Fu was about to move to the USA, I wondered how our contact would be from there. However, thanks to quarantine, we have had the opportunity to speak with tools like SKYPE, for an hour, sometimes even more than that. On topics that I usually take and that I lack some level of clarification.

About these fragments of memory of these meetings, I will call that "Si Fu Talks". Always sharing a little of what we talked about, as was the case with our remote meeting yesterday, in which Si Fu talked about "Symbols". In particular, the  Moy Jo Lei Ou Family symbol and Moy Fat Lei's one.

Sobre "Símbolos", Si Fu(FOTO) comentou que este é um dos três tipos de "signo" possíveis, sendo este segundo ele, o mais rico dos três: "Um símbolo não guarda qualquer semelhança com seu significado"- disse ele e depois prosseguiu - "E é exatamente por ser desprovido de qualquer semelhança com o 'significado', que ele é tão rico. Ele não guarda relação direta com o que representa"
Si Fu comentou algo que eu não sabia: Segundo ele, a própria palavra "Família" é um símbolo, pois esta não representa o que de fato as relações dentro de uma família significam. Por isso, diz ele que valorizamos tanto processos simbólicos - "...Pois abre a possibilidade de se colocar ali dentro o que você quiser fazer..."

About "Symbols", Si Fu (PHOTO) commented that this is one of the three types of possible "sign", the second being the richest of the three: "A symbol does not carry a resemblance to its meaning" - he said then he continued - "And it is precisely because it has no resemblance to its 'meaning', that it is so rich. It has no direct relationship with what it represents"
Si Fu commented on something I didn't know: According to him, the word "Family" itself, is a symbol, as it does not represent what in fact relationships within a family mean. For this reason, he says that we value symbolic processes so much - "... because it opens up the possibility of putting what you want to do in there ..."

Muita gente conhece o símbolo da Família Kung Fu Moy Yat, que também é o símbolo de nossa Linhagem. Transliteramos esta desde a década de 2000 como "Mui Fa" (Antes transliterada como "Moy Fah"). Independente da transliteração, traduzimos como "Flor de ameixeira".
Quando a Transliteração Oficial da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence foi desenvolvida, segundo conversa com Si Gung por MSN na mesma década, teria dito ele a mim que algumas transliterações teriam sido preservadas, por já estarem consagradas, ainda que com outra grafia, nos aproximássemos mais de seu som. Assim, termos que antes se transliteravam como "Moy Fah Jong", passou a ser "Mui Fa Jong" ou como dito anteirormente, "Moy Fah" tornou-se "Mui Fa". Porém, este não foi o caso de "Moy Yat". O nome de nosso Patriarca, teve sua transliteração mantida.
O ideograma "梅"(Moy) é o "Nome de Família" do Patriarca Moy Yat, mas este mesmo ideograma, significa "Ameixa". Por isso, ao olhar para o ícone da flor, que também é a flor nacional da China. Você tem o que Si Fu chamou, em outra oportunidade de "Trocadilho visual" entre o nome da flor e o nome de Si Taai Gung. E para completar, em seu centro vemos a versão arcaica do ideograma "Yat"(逸). Portanto, quando você olha para este símbolo, você lê "Moy Yat".

Many people know the symbol of the  Moy Yat Kung Fu Family, which is also the symbol of our Lineage. We transliterate this since the 2000s as "Mui Fa" (Formerly transliterated as "Moy Fah"). Regardless of transliteration, we translate it as "Plum blossom".
When the Official Transliteration of Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence was developed, according to a conversation with Si Gung by MSN in the same decade, he would have told me that some transliterations would have been preserved, since they were already very known, even if with another spelling, we approached more of its sound(For brazilian-portuguese speakers). Thus, terms that were previously transliterated as "Moy Fah Jong", became "Mui Fa Jong" or as previously said, "Moy Fah" became "Mui Fa". However, this was not the case for "Moy Yat". The name of our Patriarch, had its transliteration maintained.
The ideogram "梅" (Moy) is the "Family Name" of Patriarch Moy Yat, but this same ideogram means "Plum". So, when looking at the flower icon, which is also the national flower of China. You have what Si Fu called, in another opportunity "Visual pun" between the name of the flower and the name of Si Taai Gung. And to complete, in its center we see the archaic version of the ideogram "Yat" (逸). So, when you look at this symbol, you read "Moy Yat".

O símbolo da Família Moy Jo Lei Ou(Foto) é algo bem bonito. - "Poderia fazer uma palestra de mais de três horas sobre este símbolo" - Disse Si Fu empolgado. Pois segundo ele, simboliza de várias formas nossa Família com requinte, minimalismo e nos permite interpretar o pensamento de Si Fu que busca sempre a "integração".
Si Fu, chamou minha atenção para o fato de que cada pétala tem seus limites respeitados. Elas se integram, apoiam e são apoiadas, entram umas nas outra umas nas outras mas não se misturam. Não se tem suas identidades perdidas nesse processo de integração.

Foi então que numa manhã de Sábado no ano passado, recebi uma mensagem esquisita de Si Fu logo pela manhã: "Quão cara é, para você, a logomarca da Golden Harvest?". - Eu já estava tomando café com meu discípulo Matheus Alves, e sempre que chega uma mensagem de Si Fu, eu paro tudo e priorizo. Fiquei olhando a pergunta sem entender. Eu nem imaginava que Si Fu lembrava do que era "Golden Harvest" (Risos). Ele não é um fã ou entusiasta deste seguimento.
Respondi então que a famosa produtora de filmes chineses, marcou profundamente minha adolescência quando percorria locadoras de Rocha Miranda, procurando filmes antigos de Hong Kong. Foi então que alguns minutos depois chegou em meu whatsapp o seguinte presente de Si Fu: Um símbolo personalizado para a minha Família sem que eu pedisse:

Then, a few minutes later, the following gift from Si Fu arrived on my whatsapp: A personalized symbol for my Family without my asking:

O símbolo da Família Moy Fat Lei, possui um "F" e um "L" se encontrando em oposição - "Você costuma criar uma oposição num primeiro momento, mas depois você é um dos que mais adere" - Explicou Si Fu sobre as letras se confrontando. Além disso, dois trigramas do I Ching estão presentes neste símbolo que falam mais sobre minha natureza. O círculo vermelho, tem uma dupla interpretação: Ser uma das pétalas do Símbolo da Família Moy Jo Lei Ou (Que também é um Clã) e uma referência ao meu interesse pela cultura japonesa ao longo de toda a minha vida.

The Moy Fat Lei Family symbol has an "F" and an "L" meeting in opposition - "You usually create an opposition at first, but then you are one of the ones who adheres the most" - Si Fu explained about the letters confronting each other. In addition, two trigrams of the I Ching are present in this symbol that speak more about my nature. The red circle has a double interpretation: Being one of the petals of the  Moy Jo Lei Ou Family Symbol (who is also a clan) and a reference to my interest in Japanese culture throughout my life.

Foi muito emocionante enxergar a referência à logomarca da Golden Harvest(FOTO) que tanto me marcou como vinheta de abertura dos tantos filmes que assisti entre 1998 e 2000.
Si Fu disse: "A logomarca de nossa instituição ela é indiferenciada, ela não carrega nenhum símbolo de sua Família nela."- Ele sorri e completa - "...Por isso lhe dei o melhor que poderia: Um símbolo para sua Família. Então se tivesse que pendurar algo na entrada, na sua porta...Eu penduraria o símbolo de sua Família..."

It was very exciting to see the reference to the Golden Harvest logo (PHOTO) that marked me as an opening vignette for the many films I watched between 1998 and 2000.
Si Fu said: "The logo of our institution is undifferentiated, it does not carry any symbol of yourFamily on it." - He smiles and adds - "... So I gave you the best I could: A symbol for your Family. So if I had to hang something on the entrance, on your door ... I would hang your Family symbol ... "

Para encerrar, na segunda metade do ano de 2005, tive a oportunidade de ser escolhido como o que chamamos de "Gai Siu Yan" (Apresentador) de Thiago Wasserman(FOTO). À partir do momento em que Thiago Wasserman e mais tarde no mesmo ano Phelipe Pita, me escolheram como Gai Siu Yan e por conseguinte, me requisitavam. Minha jornada como praticante de Ving Tsun deixou de ser tão egoísta e voltada para mim apenas.
Naquele noite ao lado de Wasserman, para apresentá-lo, segurava em minhas mãos uma pasta personalizada da Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence. Eu adorei essas pastas desde que as vi.

In closing, in the second half of 2005, I had the opportunity to be chosen as what we call "Gai Siu Yan" (Introducer) of Thiago Wasserman (PHOTO). From the moment that Thiago Wasserman and later in the same year Phelipe Pita, they chose me as Gai Siu Yan and, therefore, requested me. My journey as a practitioner of Ving Tsun was no longer so selfish and focused on me alone.
That night with Wasserman, to introduce him, I held a personalized Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence folder in my hands. I've loved those folders since I saw them.

Quatorze anos depois, os discipulandos da V Cerimônia de Disicpulado de minha Família. Decidiram fazer uma pasta com o mesmo conceito daquela de 2005, mas desta vez com o símbolo de nossa Família feito por Si Fu(FOTO).
Estes pequenos acontecimentos são profundamente marcantes para mim. Afinal, parado ao lado do Wasserman em 2005, eu nem tinha um "Nome Kung Fu", quatorze anos depois lá estavam as pastas com o símbolo e as cores da Família Kung Fu que lidero e que carrega meu Nome Kung Fu.
Esse artigo fala um pouco  da mágica da Vida Kung Fu.

Fourteen years later, the new disciples of my Family's 5th Discipleship Ceremony. They decided to make a folder with the same concept as that of 2005, but this time with the symbol of our Family made by Si Fu (PHOTO).
These little events are profoundly remarkable for me. After all, standing next to Wasserman in 2005, I didn't even have a "Kung Fu Name", fourteen years later there were the folders with the symbol and colors of the Kung Fu Family that I lead and that carry my Kung Fu Name.
This article talks a little about  the magic of Kung Fu Life.
