A New Member of the Moy Yat Lineage [Um Novo Membro de Décima Terceira Geração.]

Quando comecei minha carreira no Méier em 2008, a maioria das procuras pela prática do Ving Tsun eram por parte de crianças e jovens. Os adultos que procuravam à época o "Espaço Dharma", local em que estávamos alocados, nunca se inscreviam. Quando alguns anos se passaram e o Núcleo Méier foi aberto, o público em sua maioria ainda era abaixo dos vinte anos. E diferente da época do "Espaço Dharma", Si Fu me chamou à atenção para este fenômeno.
De formas diferentes , Si Fu falava que a minha postura em relação ao mundo , também favoreceria o tipo de pessoas que frequentariam o Mo Gun. Não que existisse nada contra jovens praticarem, mas talvez algo em minha maturidade afastasse os mais maduros.
Hoje, vivemos uma outra realidade. E numa noite de Sexta, no querido restaurante Chinatown na Tijuca, recebemos Keith Markus na Família Moy Fat Lei. Pai de dois filhos, esposo, bombeiro e um praticante que mostra que agora temos espaço também, para um público mais maduro.


When I started my career in Meier neighborhood in 2008, most searches for the practice of Ving Tsun were by children and young people. Adults who sought at the time the "Dharma Space", where we were allocated, never joined. When some years have passed and the Méier School was opened, the audience was still mostly under twenty years old. And different from the time of "Dharma Space," Si Fu called my attention to this phenomenon.
In different ways, Si Fu spoke that my attitude toward the world, also favor the kind of people who would attend the Mo Gun. Not that there was nothing against young people practice, but maybe something in my maturity depart more mature people.
Today, we live in a different reality. And on a Friday night,at the beloved restaurant Chinatown in Tijuca, we welcomed Keith Markus in Moy Fat Lei Family. Father of two children, husband, firefighter and a practitioner showing that we now have space also for a more mature audience.

A New Member of the Moy Yat Lineage

Si Gung, que na foto acima aparece comigo e Si Fu. Disse certa vez, que o membro da Família Kung Fu em comparação ao membro do Ving Tsun Experience, tem uma série de benefícios por fazer parte dela, mas também carrega um fardo: "...Mas não é um fardo igual ao do Frodo do Senhor dos Anéis que precisava carregar o anel até Mordor..." - Brincou ele. Si Gung se referia ao compromisso assumido pelo membro de sua Linhagem , a honrar o que chamamos de "Denominação Moy Yat Ving Tsun".

Si Gung, in the picture above appears next to me and Si Fu. Once said that the member of the Family Kung Fu in comparsion to the member of Ving Tsun Experience, has a number of benefits for being of it, but also carries a burden: "... Si Gung referred to the commitment of the member of his lineage, to honor what we call "Moy Yat Ving Tsun Denomination".

Porém Markus, que na foto acima aparece ao lado de sua esposa Carol, assim como os demais membros que estão compondo aos poucos a Décima Terceira Geração da Linhagem Moy Yat na América Latina. Precisam também estar atentos ao fato de que ao ingressarem na Família Moy Fat Lei, passam a fazer parte de um processo inédito, que obviamente num futuro próximo deixará de ser exclusivo de nossa Família. Mas que até lá, todas estas pessoas serão os únicos membros de Décima Terceira Geração da Linhagem Moy Yat, como dito acima, em toda a América Latina. E isso implica em representarem não só a expressão do meu trabalho , como também do meu próprio Si Fu e Si Gung.

But Markus, who in the picture above appears next to his wife Carol, as well as other members who are composing gradually the Thirteenth Generation of  Moy Yat Lineage in Latin America. They also need to be aware of the fact that when they join the Moy Fat Lei Family , they become part of a new process, which obviously in the near future will not be unique to our family anymore. But untill there, all these people will be the only members of the Thirteenth Generation of Lineage Moy Yat, as stated above, throughout Latin America. That implies represent not only the expression of my work, but also of my own Si Fu and Si Gung.

O jantar aconteceu em função do convite para Markus ingressar na Família. Numa situação como essa, já se está definido que o convite será feito e aceito. Mas a formalidade ajuda a criar um marco para o processo humano que estamos inseridos. E também, para que o praticante de Kung Fu através dos procedimentos de uma determinada situação, use sua humanidade para encontrar a melhor forma de fazê-lo.

The dinner took place due to the invitation to  Markus join the family. In such a situation, since it is determined that the invitation will be made and accepted. But the formality helps to create a framework for the human process which we operate. Also, for the practitioner of Kung Fu through the procedures of a given situation,to use his humanity to find the best way to do it.

Rodrigo Moreira, que aparece vestindo branco no canto direito da foto, é uma espécie de "campeão de apresentações" de membros da Décima Terceira Geração de nossa Linhagem. As habilidades sociais de Rodrigo sempre me impressionaram.

Rodrigo Moreira, who appears wearing white in the right corner of the photo, is a kind of "presentations champion" of the members of the Thirteenth Generation of our lineage. Rodrigo's social skills always impressed me.

Rodrigo fez faculdade comigo, e seis meses depois de nos conhecermos, fizemos uma viagem inesquecível para assistir shows em São Paulo. Um amigo nosso, Rafael , que também aparece na foto. Nos ouviu combinando a viagem e se ofereceu para ir. Isso é algo que somente na faculdade aconteceria. rs
Nessa viagem, fiz uma visita a familiares que não via a quase nove anos, e pedi a Rodrigo no Metrô, que caso sentisse que a conversa "estava morrendo" me ajudasse a puxar assunto. Rodrigo fez isso de forma brilhante , rs, ao ponto de meus parentes esquecerem que eu estava lá..rs

Rodrigo went to college with me, and six months after we met, we made an unforgettable trip to attend J-Pop shows in Sao Paulo. A friend of ours, Rafael, who also appears in the photo. He heard us combining the trip and offered himself to go. This is something that only happen in college. LOL
On this trip, I visited part of my family I did not see for nearly nine years, and asked Rodrigo in the subway, that case felt that the conversation was "dying" to help me pull it. Rodrigo did it brilliantly, lol, to the point of my relatives forget that I was there lol

No natal de 1978, foi lançada uma "comédia-pastelão" , escrita e dirigida por Sammo Hung com o título "Warriors Two" no ocidente, que contava a história de dois amigos: Sammo Hung , que fazia o papel de Fung Wah, aluno de um dos maiores mestres de Ving Tsun e Kung Fu de todos os tempos chamado Leung Jaan. E de seu amigo Chan Wah Sun, que queria fazer parte da Família Kung Fu de Leung Jaan.

At Christmas 1978, was released a comedy, written and directed by Sammo Hung titled "Warriors Two" in the West, which told the story of two friends: Sammo Hung, who played Fung Wah, student one of the greatest masters of Ving Tsun and Kung Fu ever called Leung Jaan. And his friend Chan Wah Sun, who wanted to be part of the Family Kung Fu of Leung Jaan.

Estas pessoas existiram na vida real, tendo sido Chan Wah Sun, o Si Fu de Ip Man. Acontece, que a figura de Fung Wah, é conhecida como "Gaai Siu Yan". Uma pessoa de dentro de uma Família Kung Fu, que apresenta alguém a seu Si Fu e intercede para que esta pessoa seja aceita na Família.

These people existed in real life, and Chan Wah Sun was Si Fu of Ip Man. It turns out that the figure of Fung Wah, is known as "Gaai Siu Yan." A person in a Kung Fu Family, who introduces one to his Si Fu and intercedes for that person to be accepted in the Family.

Rodrigo foi o "Gaai Siu Yan" de Markus e após apresentá-lo, o próprio Markus falou algumas palavras para mim, para a Si Mo , Si Suk presentes e seus irmãos Kung Fu ao lado de sua esposa.
Markus foi praticante de Kung Fu em meados dos anos 90 , de Paracambi, veio a residir na Zona Norte do Rio com sua esposa e dois filhos. Markus tem muito orgulho de sua profissão e guardava dentro de si o sonho de praticar Ving Tsun.
Chegou a ser sub-comandante do Batalhão do CBMERJ no Méier, mas na época não soube que existia um Mo Gun no bairro. E agora, em 2016, ele começa sua jornada na Família Moy Fat Lei com o apoio de sua esposa Carol.

Rodrigo was the "Gaai Siu Yan" of Markus and after introducing him, Markus himself said a few words to me, to Si Mo, Si Suk  and his brothers Kung Fu alongside his wife.
Markus has been practicing Kung Fu in the mid-90s, From Paracambi, came to live in the North Zone of Rio with his wife and two children. Markus is very proud of his profession and kept within himself the dream of practicing Ving Tsun.
He became sub commander of the battalion of firefighters in Meier, but at the time did not know that there was a Mo Gun in the neighborhood. And now, in 2016, he begins his journey in the Family Moy Fat Lei with the support of his wife Carol.

Vitor Sá, meu To Dai que também é meu conterrâneo e de sua Si Mo, pois cresceu em Rocha Miranda assim como nós. Demonstrou a primeira parte do Siu Nim Tau como símbolo da autorização pública para Markus ter acesso ao Sistema Ving Tsun assim como eu tive e seus irmãos estão tendo.

Vitor Sá, my To Dai who is also my countryman and also his Si Mo's, because he grew in Rocha Miranda as we were. He showed the first part of Siu Nim Tau as a symbol of public authority to Markus have access to Ving Tsun as I had and his brothers are having.

Sobre esta noite, fica a felicidade de estar, aos poucos, podendo honrar a confiança que meu Si Fu(foto) depositou em mim ao me permitir começar minha própria Família Kung Fu...

On this night, is the happiness of being gradually able to honor the trust that my Si Fu (photo) placed in me by allowing me to start my own family Kung Fu ...
