BRUCE LEE IS BACK!!! (BRUCE LEE VOLTOU!!!)

Em 1993, os fãs de artes marciais ficaram em polvorosa quando foi anunciado um filme contando a história da vida de Bruce Lee chamado "DRAGON" estrelando Jasco Scott-Lee (foto). Um filme que tinha muito mais licenças poéticas, se pode-se assim dizer, do que cenas baseadas na realidade.
Ainda assim, é impossível resistir a essa película num primeiro momento. Afinal , para toda uma geração de fãs, era a possibilidade de ter contato mais uma vez com a lenda das artes marciais no cinema: BRUCE LEE!

In 1993, the martial arts fans were in an uproar when it was announced a film telling the life story of Bruce Lee called "DRAGON" starring Jasco Scott-Lee (photo above) as Bruce Lee. A film that had much more poetic license, if one may say so, than scenes based on reality. 
Still, it's impossible to resist this film at first. After all, for an entire generation of fans, was the opportunity to have contact again with the legend of martial arts in the movies: BRUCE LEE!

O musical vai mostrar a jornada de Bruce Lee até o estrelato enfrentando situações de racismo, descrença em sua pessoa e convicção dele em seu potencial. E na sua árdua epopeia para levar a figura do chinês a ser respeitada no cinema americano.

But nothing prepared you for a Broadway musical about BRUCE LEE! (photo). 
The musical will show the journey of Bruce Lee to stardom facing situations of racism, disbelief in his person and his belief in his own potential. And in his difficult journey to bring to life a Chinese man respected in American cinema.

Cole Horibe, pode não parecer muito com Bruce Lee, mas suas credenciais fizeram os criticos denominarem sua perfomance como "Poesia em Movimento ao interpretar o lendário Mestre das Artes Marciais".  Cole é medalista olímpico de Tae Kwon Do e finalista do programa "So You Think You Can Dance".
Na verdade, uma peça no SESC de Madureira sobre Bruce Lee já valeria o ingresso!

Cole Horibe, can not look too much like Bruce Lee, but his credentials did the critics  qualify his performance as "Poetry in Motion playing the legendary Martial Arts Marster". Cole is a Tae Kwon Do  Olympic medalist  and a finalist in the "So You Think You Can Dance" TV SHOW. 
In fact, just a play in any primary school about Bruce Lee would be enough for me!

Minha opinião pessoal sobre tudo isso? Bom, fazem 40 anos que este homem na foto acima morreu. E em sua breve existência ele não só mudou o modo como o mundo enxergava as artes marciais, como apresentou o Kung Fu ao ocidente e o principal: Deixou uma marca em bilhões de corações que já dura 4 décadas.

My personal opinion on all this? Well, had been 40 years this man died . And in his short life he not only changed the way the world saw the martial arts, but also introduced Kung Fu to the West and the most important: Left a mark in billions of hearts that has been lasting for decades.

Por isso, se para vocês leitor ,assim como pra mim, Bruce Lee sempre foi uma grande inspiração. Pense melhor no que você está se inspirando. Por que ao saber desse musical, me  fiz duas perguntas: "Qual o legado que vou deixar quando me for? E quanto tempo ele durará?"


So if for you reader, like me, had Bruce Lee always as a great inspiration. Think again in what you are inspiring youserlf. Because when I knew about  this musical, I asked myself two questions: "What is the legacy I'll leave when I'm gone. And how long will it last?"
