Aos Domingos de manhã, quando ainda morava próximo ao Si Fu, vez ou outra o encontrava lendo a biografia do Steve Jobs numa padaria enquanto tomava seu café.Em outras oportunidades, o vi citar o discurso de Steve Jobs em Stanford. Foi só quando li a mesma biografia ano passado, que me deu vontade de assistir o tal discurso. Nele, Steve Jobs fala sobre a importância de aprender a "Ligar os Pontos".
Steve Jobs fala de sua juventude na faculdade, e de quando se interessou pelo curso de tipografia. Como este curso na época, não parecia significar muita coisa, mas que dez anos depois, quando o primeiro Mac foi lançado, uma das maiores inovações foi poder escolher diferentes tipografias para o texto. Algo que fazemos até hoje: "...Foi o primeiro computador com uma bela tipografia. Sem aquele curso, o Mac não teria múltiplas fontes. E, porque o Windows era só uma cópia do Mac, talvez nenhum computador viesse a oferecê-las, sem aquele curso. É claro que conectar os pontos era impossível, na minha era de faculdade. Mas em retrospecto, dez anos mais tarde, tudo ficava bem claro. Repito: os pontos só se conectam em retrospecto. Por isso, é preciso confiar em que estarão conectados, no futuro. É preciso confiar em algo - seu instinto, o destino, o karma. Não importa. Essa abordagem jamais me decepcionou, e mudou minha vida..." - Disse Steve Jobs em seu discurso.


On Sunday mornings, when I used to live next to Si Fu, I would occasionally find him reading the biography of Steve Jobs at a bakery while he drank his coffee. On other occasions, I saw him mentioning Steve Jobs's speech at Stanford. It was only when I read the same biography last year that I felt like watching the speech. In it, Steve Jobs talks about the importance of learning to "Connect the Dots".

Steve Jobs talks about his youth in college, and when he was interested in the typography course. Like this course at the time there was not so much importance in his life, but that ten years later, when the first Mac was released, one of the biggest innovations was to be able to choose different fonts for the text. Something we've done to this day: "... It was the first computer with a beautiful typography, and without the Mac, it would not have multiple fonts, and because Windows was just a copy of the Mac, maybe no computer would offer them ...We must trust something - your instinct, destiny, karma. It did not disappoint me, and it changed my life ... "- said Steve Jobs in his speech.

De alguma forma, em algum momento de nossa vida, em algum aspecto dela, pensamos em desistir de algo, simplesmente por não conseguirmos enxergar esses "pontos" que serão ligados mais cedo ou mais tarde. Na maioria das vezes, nem mesmo acreditamos que eles estão lá, e tentamos convencer as pessoas que acreditam em nosso potencial, de que realmente não era pra ser.

Somehow, at some point in our life, in some aspect of it, we think of giving up something simply because we can not see those "points" that will be linked sooner or later. Most of the time, we do not even believe they are there, and we try to convince people who believe in our potential, that it really was not meant to be.

Quando Si Fu levantou-se para falar suas palavras de abertura, não é como se estivesse se levantando sozinho. Junto dele, levantaram-se também seus mais de 25 anos de trabalho árduo em prol doVing Tsun no Brasil e no mundo. Ali, também se podia ver, e que inclusive foi citado por ele, os trinta anos do trabalho de Si Gung , com a mesma função.
Todos estes esforços culminaram , por uma noite , no mesmo lugar. E eu, sentado ali, vez ou outra tinha um pequeno flashback da minha vida e da minha relação com Si Fu. O que era sonho ou realidade nessas lembranças, já não estava mais claro.

When Si Fu got up to speak his opening words, it is not as if he was standing alone. Momentos assim, só se tornam completos , com a presença de pessoas especiais. E dentre tantas que estavam presentes naquela noite, tivemos a felicidade de receber o Líder da Família Moy Fei Lap, Felipe Soares, meu Si Suk que admiro muito como artista marcial. Marcia, companheira de meu Si Fu, por quem desenvolvi um grande carinho. Ricardo Lopes, co-líder da Família Moy Lin Mah  que sempre me tratou com muito afeto, e claro, Si Suk Ursula, Líder da Família Moy Lin Mah, minha Gaai Siu Yan, mas para mim apenas "Si Suk Ursula" já diria tudo que ela representa.

Moments like this, only become complete, with the presence of special people. And among so many that were present that night, we had the happiness to receive the Leader of the Family Moy Fei Lap, Felipe Soares(photo wearing blue), my Si Suk that I admire much like martial artist. Marcia(photo wearing pink), girlfriend of my Si Fu, for whom I developed a great affection. Ricardo Lopes(photo wearing black), co-leader of the Moy Lin Mah Family who always treated me with great affection, and of course, Si Suk Ursula, Leader of Moy Lin Mah Family, my Gaai Siu Yan, but for me only "Si Suk Ursula" would say everything which she represents.

O coordenador da Cerimônia foi meu irmão Kung Fu Claudio Teixeira, que vem tendo uma projeção meteórica internacionalmente no cenário do Ving Tsun. Porém, acima disso, um grande ser humano que se empenha ao máximo pela Família Kung Fu.
O apresentador formal (Gaai Siu Yan) dos três discipulandos, foi meu irmão Kung Fu e amigo pessoal de longa data, Rodrigo Moreira. Conversamos muito sobre aquela noite, e Rodrigo, que era uma espécie de gênio da biologia na época da faculdade, pôde demonstrar sua excelência na apresentação dos novos discípulos, habilidade esta ,que tanto encantava professores e companheiros de turma na saudosa Universidade Gama Filho.

The coordinator of the Ceremony was my Kung Fu brother Claudio Teixeira, who has been having a meteoric projection internationally in the scenario of Ving Tsun. But above all else, a great human being who strives to the full for the Kung Fu Family.
The formal presenter (Gaai Siu Yan) of the three disciples, was my Kung Fu brother and long time personal friend, Rodrigo Moreira. We talked a lot about that night, and Rodrigo, who was a kind of biology genius in College, was able to demonstrate his excellence in introducing the new disciples, a skill that both charmed teachers and classmates at the late Gama Filho University.

A primeira a oferecer o chá foi Jaqueline Tergolina. Jaqueline é um ser humano muito forte, entregue e perspicaz . Essas são apenas três qualidades que admiro nela, mas se você me perguntasse qual a principal razão do meu carinho pela Jaqueline, seria sua capacidade de me fazer sorrir. Jaqueline carrega com ela uma grande habilidade de trazer alegria a qualquer ambiente, e para um cara tímido e sério como eu, isso me é muito caro.

The first to offer the tea was Jaqueline Tergolina. Jaqueline is a very strong and insightful human being. These are only two qualities I admire in her, but if you asked me the main reason I cared for Jaqueline, it would be her ability to make me smile. Jaqueline carries with her a great ability to bring joy to any environment, and for a shy, serious guy like me, that is very important to have her.

Si Gung chamou Si Fu recentemente em público de : "Julio Camacho, o homem que acredita". - Bom, não sei o quanto de tudo que estava acontecendo já tinha sido visualizado por Si Fu bem antes, com sua capacidade de "Ligar os pontos" não só por ele mas também pelos outros. Porém, o que importa, foi sua gentileza em estar presente nessa Cerimônia, aceitando estas três pessoas como seus discípulos de segunda geração.

Si Gung recently called Si Fu publicly: "Julio Camacho, the man who believes." "Well, I do not know how much of everything that was happening had already been visualized by Si Fu well before, with his ability to" Connect the dots "not only by him but also by others. But what matters was his kindness in being present at this Ceremony, accepting these three people as his second-generation disciples.

O segundo a oferecer chá, foi Vitor Sá. Vitor para mim, é uma das grandes provas de que de alguma forma, posso enxergar um pouco da minha própria personalidade em cada To Dai. Pois o apaixonado Vitor, parece colocar esse amor em tudo o que faz de forma muito intensa. Seja no cuidado comigo, com seus irmãos Kung Fu ou seja com qualquer pessoa ou projeto que necessite de sua determinação.  E a lealdade sem dúvidas, é um ponto que é muito marcante em sua personalidade.

The second to offer tea was Vitor Sá. Vitor to me, is one of the great proofs that somehow, I can see a little of my own personality in each To Dai. For the passionate Vitor, he seems to put this love in everything that does of very intense form. Be in the care with me, with his Kung Fu brothers or with any person or project that needs his determination. And loyalty without doubt, is a point that is very striking in his personality.

(Como em meu próprio Baai Si recebi um presente de Si Fu e outro de Si Gung. 

Decidi , por bem, fazer o mesmo. Para cada um dos novos discípulos dei um presente simbólico. )

(As in my own Baai Si I received a gift from Si Fu and another from Si Gung. I decided, by well, to do the same. For each of the new disciples I gave a symbolic gift.)

Si Fu já me deu algumas broncas pela minha mania de  correlacionar pessoas e situações que em nada tem a ver (risos), mas o terceiro a oferecer chá, Keith Markus, me lembrava muito meu irmão Kung Fu Carlos Antunes. Sua capacidade de se comprometer com uma "missão" e levá-la até o final com determinação , me lembrava muito de Carlos. Talvez por isso, mesmo sem conhecê-lo bem, desde o primeiro contato gostei dele. Com o tempo, conheci este fiel discípulo e pude gostar dele por quem de fato é.  Keith, dentre tantos potenciais que apresenta, sem dúvidas um dos mas especiais é o de servir como exemplo de determinação para os mais novos. A expressão que me vem a cabeça quando penso nele é "Ponta-firme".

Si Fu already gave me some scolding for my craze to correlate people and situations that have nothing to do (laughs), but the third to offer tea, Keith Markus, reminded me a lot of my Kung Fu brother Carlos Antunes. His ability to commit to a "mission" and take it to the end with determination, reminded me a lot of Carlos. Maybe that's why, even without knowing Markus well, from the first contact I liked him. Over time, I met this faithful disciple and I was able to like him for who he really is. Keith, among many potential that presents, undoubtedly one of the most special is to serve as an example of determination for the young. The expression that comes to my mind when I think of him is "Ponta-firme".

Bom, eu poderia falar aqui da importância histórica que este "Baai Si" representa para tantas pessoas do presente, do passado e do futuro , mas eu prefiro falar das relações que culminaram nesta noite.
Muitas pessoas acompanham tudo isso por esta página ou mesmo presencialmente, só veem estes momentos pontuais. O trabalho "No invisível" é o que conta de verdade. Cada dia, cada noite, cada frustração, cada pequena felicidade, cada passo que você dá à frente, as vezes leve, as vezes se arrastando, mas sempre em frente. É disso que se tratam as realizações no mundo do Kung Fu: trabalhar quando ninguém está vendo, e só deixar aparecer o resultado desse trabalho, sempre "Ligando os pontos", e um dia, você chega lá. De alguma maneira, você chega lá.
E isso, venho aprendendo com o melhor: Meu Si Fu.

Well, I could speak here of the historical importance that this "Baai Si" represents for so many people of the present, past and future, but I prefer to talk about the relationships that have culminated this evening.
Many people accompany all this through this page or even in person, only see these punctual moments. The work "In the invisible" is what really counts. Every day, every night, every frustration, every little happiness, every step you take ahead, sometimes light, sometimes hard, but always on. This is what the achievements in the world of Kung Fu are about: working when no one is watching, and only letting the result of this work appear, always "connecting the dots", and one day, you get there. Somehow, you get there.
And this, I have been learning from the best: My Si Fu.
