15 YEARS OF KUNG FU (15 ANOS DE KUNG FU)

Com 15 anos de idade(foto) , não é preciso se preocupar com muita coisa além de ser aprovado na escola no final do ano. Porém, vendo esta foto, da pra se perceber o quão rápido passa o tempo. 
Meu primo de camisa amarela hoje estuda economia na UFRJ. Meu outro primo Roberto já está quase casando e trabalha na UFRJ.
Quanto a mim, tive a oportunidade através das Cerimônias tradicionais, de perceber melhor a passagem do tempo, e o inicio de novos momentos.
Como o próprio Si Gung fala: "...Assim, os Procedimentos Cerimoniais concorrem para que o descendente de Grão-Mestre Moy Yat tome consciência dos diferentes momentos de sua jornada.."
Acredito que as celebrações de aniversário, também possam cumprir um papel parecido com relação a nossa vida. 

When I was 15-year-old (photo), no need to worry about much except to be approved at the end of the school year. But seeing this photo, I can perceive how fast time passes.
My cousin wearing the yellow shirt now studies economics at College. My other cousin Roberto is almost married and works at the same College.
As for me, I had the opportunity through traditional ceremonies, to better understand the passage of time and the beginning of new times.
As its Si Gung says: "... So the Ceremonial Procedures compete for the descendant of Grand Master Moy Yat become aware of the different moments of his journey .."

Believe that birthday celebrations, may also fulfill a similar role in our daily our life.

Portanto ao completar 15 anos na Família Kung Fu, percebo hoje que sou o equivalente a "2 Thiagos" deste que vemos na foto acima,exatamente quando tinha 15 anos de idade, no momento da Entrada na Família Kung Fu.
Mas pude me lembrar disso principalmente por conta dos "aniversários Kung Fu" que a Família gentilmente me oferecem sempre que chega Outubro....E esse ano não foi diferente...

So after completing 15 years in Kung Fu Family, I realized today that I am the equivalent of "2 Thiagos"  from That one we see in the photo above, just when I was 15 years old at the time when I joined the Kung Fu Family.

But I could remember it mainly because of the "Kung Fu anniversaries" that family kindly offer me when October arrives .... And this year was no different ...

Celebração dos meus 15 anos de Kung Fu

(Celebration of my 15 years of Kung Fu)

 Daniel Eustáquio(foto) , irmão mais novo de Lucas Eustáquio , e praticante do Núcleo Méier aguardava o início da celebração no Restaurante Chinatown no bairro da Tijuca.
Ele havia encontrado comigo mais cedo em frente ao Mo Gun e fomos juntos até lá. Ao chegarmos e estacionarmos o carro, tirei minha camisa regata na própria calçada e fui vestir a minha blusa para a festa mas percebi que estava faltando um botão...  Consegue imaginar?

Daniel Eustaqui (photo), younger brother of Lucas Eustaquio, and practitioner of MYVT Meier School awaited the beginning of the celebration at the Restaurant in the Chinatown neighborhood of Tijuca.
He had met me with his father earlier in front of the Mo Gun and went together up there. When we arrived and parked the car,I took off my shirt on the sidewalk itself and changed for a better one, but this other shirt  I realized It was missing a button ... Can you imagine?

Meu amigo de faculdade Iron Jr e sua namorada Jessica (foto) estiveram lá e André Almeida os recebeu. André tomou conhecimento da MYVT e do Nucleo Méier através de Iron. E prestes a se tornar um membro vitalício de nossa Família, fica clara a grande contribuição de Iron a Família Moy Jo Lei Ou.

My college friend Iron Jr and his girlfriend Jessica (photo) were there and Andre Almeida received them. Andre noted the MYVT and Meier School through Iron. And about to become a lifetime member of our family, it is clear the major contribution of Iron to Moy Jo Lei Ou Family introducing Andre.

Aposto que nesta viagem em 2003(foto), que eu, Iron e Rodrigo Moreira fizemos juntos para São Paulo, nem sonhavamos que estariamos juntos pouco mais de uma década depois em tal evento. Realmente a vida surpreende.

I bet in this trip in 2003 (photo), I, Iron and Rodrigo Moreira did together to São Paulo nor dreamed we would be together just over a decade later in such an event. Life is really surprising.

A foto acima, de Grão-Mestre Moy Yat com Patriarca Ip Man, habita a internet ha muito tempo. Mas quando foi tirada, era dia de ano novo chinês. E Grão-Mestre Moy Yat teve a honra de receber Ip Man junto de sua Família Kung Fu recém inaugurada, para esta festividade que é a mais importante no calendário chinês.

The photo above, from Grand Master Moy Yat with Patriarch Ip Man inhabits the internet for a long time. But when it was taken, it was the day of Chinese New Year. And Grand Master Moy Yat was honored to receive Ip Man with his Kung Fu Family recently opened for this festival that is the most important on the Chinese calendar.

Nesta foto com Si Fu, também vivenciei esta honra, já que esta celebração estava acontecendo simultaneamente ao aniversário de sua filha mais velha, e também minha irmã KF e membro do Nucleo Méier: Jade Camacho.
Ter Si Fu ali, quando o aniversário de sua filha estava acontecendo a poucas quadras do local, foi realmente uma grande responsabilidade.

In this photo with Si Fu, I also experienced this honor, since this celebration was happening simultaneously with the anniversary of his eldest daughter, and also my Kung Fu sister ,member of Meier School: Jade Camacho.
Having Si Fu there when the birthday of his daughter was going on a few blocks away, was indeed a big responsibility.

De repente, Joelson Jr tomou o microfone e deu inicio as homenagens compostas primeiramente por demonstrações. Daniel Eustaqui(foto) começou realizando o "Siu Nim Do". Sequencia de movimentos para praticantes que estão nos módulos "Siu Ye Kuen" ou "Ving Tsun Experience".
Daniel representava ali Maicon Amaro e Vinicius Tostes. Dois de seus irmãos KF que não puderam estar presentes.

Suddenly Joelson Jr took the microphone and kicked off the first statements made by demonstrations. Daniel Eustaquio (photo) began performing the "Siu Nim Do". Sequence of movements for practitioners who are in the "Siu Ye Kuen" or "Ving Tsun Experience" modules.
Daniel stood there also for Maicon Amaro and Vinicius Tostes. Two of his KF brothers who could not be present.

Rodrigo Moreira, agora de cabelos curtos, não é mais somente meu velho amigo de faculdade. Agora ele é também meu irmão Kung Fu. E foi ele quem demonstrou o Siu Nim Tau aos presentes.

Rodrigo Moreira, now with short hair, is not only my old college friend. Now he is also my  Kung Fu brother. And it was he who showed Siu Nim Tau to the present.

No ano em que conheci Rodrigo na faculdade, tive a primeira oportunidade de fazer uma demonstração no aniversário de Si Fu(foto) em 2004

André Almeida demonstrou o Cham Kiu. Na verdade, André teve vários momentos oportunos para se melhorar durante todo o processo que precedeu esta celebração. Acredito que ele tenha entendido que a celebração em si, é apenas uma pequena manifestação de muitos outros momentos.

André Almeida demonstrated the Cham Kiu. Actually, Andre has had several opportune moments to improve throughout the process that preceded this celebration. I believe he understood that the celebration itself, it is only a small manifestation of many other moments.

Fabiosa, como é carinhosamente chamado, teve a árdua missão de demonstrar o Biu Ji. Pelo menos por duas vezes, Si fu me chamou para dizer "Muito bom o Biu Ji viu?".  Fiquei feliz pelo Fabio. Ele merece.

Fabiosa, as he is affectionately called by us, had the arduous task of demonstrating the Biu Ji. At least twice, Si fu called me to say "Very good Biu Ji !". I was happy for Fabio. He deserves.

Em 2005(foto) também dentro de um Restaurante, fiz a demonstração do Biu junto de Gil Batista(ao fundo) , com a leitura de texto por Thiago Silva,mais uma vez no aniversário do Si Fu. Olhando essa foto não sei se fico mais impressionado sobre o quão ruim meu Biu Ji era, ou pela calça tamanho 40 que conseguia vestir na época.

In 2005 (photo) also within a restaurant, I made a demo of Biu Ji along Gil Batista (background) with the text reading by Thiago Silva once again on the anniversary of the Si Fu. Looking at this photo I do not know if I'm more impressed about how bad my Biu Ji was, or the size of the pants that I could wear at the time.

Joelson passou o microfone a quem desejasse falar algumas palavras sobre mim. Esse é um momento bem estranho de se viver. Ficar sentado ouvindo as pessoas falarem bem de você, começando por Ailton Jordão (de pé), é conflitante para mim. A cada palavra dita, eu tinha uma por dentro contestando. Mas como Si Fu cita sempre: "Quando Pedro fala de Paulo, aprendemos mais sobre Pedro."
Ailton é muito emotivo, e um fiel irmão Kung Fu. Seu carinho pelo Mo Gun é muito grande. E ele não se importa em abaixar e ficar de joelhos para limpá-lo, ou dar uma geral no banheiro que todos usam.

Joelson passed the microphone to anyone who wished to speak a few words about me. This is a very strange time to live. Sitting and listening to people speak well of you, starting with Ailton Jordao (standing), is confusing to me. Every word spoken, I had a challenging inside. But as Si Fu always quotes: "When Peter talks about Paul, we learn more about Peter."
Ailton is very emotional and a loyal Kung Fu Brother. His affection for the Mo Gun is very large. And he does not mind kneeling down to clean it, or give a big clean in the bathroom that everyone uses.

Como a cada pessoa que ia lá a frente eu abraçava ao final. Si Fu orientou-me que sentasse mais perto como vemos na foto. Rodrigo Moreira ao microfone, citou nossa amizade que completara 10 anos neste ano, e como nossa relação mudou depois que ele entrou na Família Kung Fu.
Eu estava um dia falando sobre estar carente de um novo livro após o término de MUSASHI de Eiji Yoshikawa numa manhã de 2003. Rodrigo que estava na roda de amigos disse que queria ler esse livro, e me indicou "Cronicas de Arthur" para ocupar aquela lacuna. Nossa amizade começara ali...

As every person who went there forward I hugged at the end. Si Fu instructed me to sit closer as we see in the photo. Rodrigo Moreira at the microphone, cited our friendship had completed 10 years this year, and how our relationship changed after he joined the Kung Fu Family.
I was a day talking about being sad after finish my reading of book MUSASHI by Eiji Yoshikawa one morning in 2003. Rodrigo was in that circle of friends and said he wanted to read this book, and showed me "Chronicles of Arthur" as a good book to read after that. Our friendship started there ...

Em 1994 (foto) quando tinha a idade de Daniel Eustáquio, me inscrevi num concurso de poesia no Colégio Salesiano. Fui para as finas com mais dois alunos. Este é o momento em que lia a poesia entitulada "Cidadania Começa em Casa". Eu não venci, mas lembro da coordenadora ao pegar o microfone de volta dizer: "Muito bem!" - se referindo a minha leitura.

In 1994 (photo) at the age of Daniel Eustaquio, I enrolled in a poetry contest at Salesian School. I did well with two other students. This is the moment I read poetry titled "Citizenship Begins at Home." I did not win, but remember the coordinator taking the microphone back and say: "Very good!" - Referring to my reading.

20 anos depois, eu que me orgulhava da minha leitura aos 10 anos, fiquei ali mais uma vez impressionado com a capacidade de oratória de Daniel que falou algumas palavras sobre mim ao microfone. Daniel sempre é elogiado por todos, por conseguir assimilar e compreender o que pratica de maneira muito madura pela sua idade. E naquela noite, não foi diferente. Ele citou Maicon e Vinicius, seus dois companheiros de "Siu Ye Kuen", e disse que falava pelos dois. Sem duvidas, o Si Hing deles o representou bem ao microfone.

20 years later,  I was proud of my reading at age 10, there was once again impressed with the ability of oratory of Daniel who spoke a few words about me. Daniel is always praised by everyone for understanding and assimilating his practice, in a very mature way for his age. And tonight was no different. He cited Maicon and Vinicius his companions in "Siu Ye Kuen" . Undoubtedly, the Si Hing of them represented well in the microphone.

Porém descobri que o mesmo Daniel é bem timido para abraços. Ele escapoliu enquanto tentei abracá-lo..rs (foto).

But I found that this Daniel is very shy for hugs. He wanted to run away while I tried to hug him lol (photo).

André foi um dos grandes organizadores daquela noite. Este dedicado irmão Kung Fu é muito timido e as vezes suas voz vai sumindo. Mas de fato, André mostra todas as semanas no Méier, que não é necessário falar para tocar as pessoas. Muito querido por todos, André também me emocionou com seu carinho ao microfone.

Andre was one of the major organizers of the evening. This dedicated Kung Fu Brother is very shy and sometimes his voice fades. But in fact, André shows every week in Meier, it is not necessary to talk to touch people. Well liked by everyone, André also thrilled me with his affection in the microphone.

No primeiro ano do Núcleo Méier(foto) tive a boa sorte de receber como primeiro aluno matriculado, um garotinho sério e que falava pouco chamado Pedro Freire(foto). Aos poucos e com o tempo, Pedro passou a sorrir cada vez mais e ainda um homem de poucas palavras, Pedro é bem conciso no que quer dizer.

In the first year of the MYVT Meier School (photo) I had the good fortune to receive as first enrolled student, a serious little boy who spoke little and called Pedro Freire (photo). Gradually and over time, Pedro began to smile more and but hes still a man of few words, Pedro is very concise on what he means.

Desta forma, 4 anos mais velho, Pedro ao microfone falou sobre este tempo que passamos juntos. E citou o dia em que ao ser questionado por mim do "Porque" praticava, ele disse que apenas gostava de estar lá. As vezes imagino que várias fitas de cores diferentes saem de meu coração e colam sua outra ponta no coração de cada irmão Kung Fu do Núcleo Méier. As vezes, alguem se afasta tanto, que a fita arrebenta. Porém em outros casos, eu penso que esta mesma fita sai e procura alguém em quem colar. Com Pedro, eu acho que é assim. Talvez por isso ele nem saiba dizer porque gosta de ir ao Mo Gun assim como eu. É apenas uma questão de fitas que ligam corações.

Thus, 4 years older, Pedro spoke into the microphone about all this time we spent together. He quoted the day that when asked by me the "Why" he practiced, he said he just enjoyed being there. Sometimes I imagine that several ribbons of different colors comes out of my heart and stick the other end in the heart of every Kung Fu Brother from Meier School. Sometimes someone walks away so much that the ribbon is cut off. But in other cases, I think this same ribbon comes out and find someone to paste. With Pedro, I think it is so. Maybe that's why he did not know why he likes to be in Mo Gun  just like me. It's just a matter of connecting hearts trough ribbons.

E se você estiver próximo o suficiente, nenhuma fita mais será necessária. 

And if you're close enough, no more ribbon is required.

Os Mestres presentes : Mestre Ricardo Queiroz, Mestre Ursula Lima, Mestre Felipe Soares e Mestre Diego Guadelupe, pediram o microfone para dizerem emocionantes palavras. Desde os olhos marejados que me tocaram muito de Si Sok Queiroz ao falar da importância de estar ali para prestigiar o momento, até Si Sok Diego, o mais novo deles, falando sobre o trabalho no Méier, lembrá-lo do trabalho de seu próprio Si Hing, meu Si Fu, que pegou o microfone depois deles.

The Masters presents: Master Ricardo Queiroz, Master Ursula Lima, Master Felipe Soares and Master DiegoGuadelupe, asked for the microphone to say touching words. Since teary eyes that touched me very  by Si Sok Queiroz to speak about the importance of being there to honor the moment, until Si Sok Diego, the youngest of them, talking about this work in Meier, remind him of the work of his own Si Hing, my Si Fu, who took the microphone after them

Si Fu citou o aniversário de sua filha Jade que estava acontecendo simultaneamente como escrito acima, mas também me honrou muito ao dizer publicamente algo que havia me falado em particular sobre o Kung Fu de Jade e meu papel com relação a ele.

Si Fu cited the birthday of his daughter Jade that was happening simultaneously as written above, but I was honored whe he said publicly something he had told me privately about Jade's Kung Fu and my role in relation to it.

Não sei dizer que tipo de relação Si Gung mantém com Si Baak Gung William Moy(foto), filho de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat. Com certeza é excelente, mas não sei nada sobre a dinamica entre os dois.

I can not tell what kind of relationship it has with Si Gung and Si Baak Gung William Moy (photo), son of Si Taai Gung Moy Yat. It sure is great, but I know nothing about the dynamic between the two.

Com relação a mim , estar com a Jade(foto) , que naquela noite completava 17 anos. É sempre um desafio. Como Si Hing dela, não posso tratá-la diferente por ser filha do Si Fu. Pois isso a prejudicaria. Mas por ser filha do Si Fu, para mim não é qualquer pessoa. Pois meu compromisso com ele se estende a ela.

With regard to me, being with Jade (photo), who completed 17 years old that night. It is always a challenge. As a Si Hing , I can not treat her differently for being the daughter of Si Fu. But being the daughter of Si Fu, makes her not just anybody for me 

Si Fu já havia devolvido o microfone, quando o pediu de volta para dar um presente a mim. Ao falar do presente, Si fu falou que pode-se medir a relação de um Si Fu e um To Dai pela quantidade de coisas que este To Dai tem do Si Fu. E Si Fu citou a mim como alguém que tem muitas destas suas coisas.

Si Fu had already returned the microphone, when asked back to give a gift to me. In speaking of this, Si fu said that you can measure the ratio of a Si Fu and To Dai relashionship trough the amount of things that a To Dai have from Si Fu. And Si Fu quoted to me as someone who has many of these your things.

Si Fu me deu uma camisa sua. Porém, estava longe de ser qualquer camisa. Se tratava de um presente de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat para ele, recebido há quase 20 anos em Nova York . A camisa contém uma pintura de um bambú feito por Si Taai Gung. Si Fu disse que o bambú demora muito a brotar. Você precisa regar e acreditar dia após dia, mesmo que não veja os resultados. Um dia de repente, o bambú cresce de forma abrupta.

Si Fu gave me his shirt. However, was far from any shirt. It was a gift from Si Taai Gung Moy Yat  received nearly 20 years ago in New York. The shirt has a painting of a bamboo made by Si Taai Gung . Si Fu said bamboo takes too long to sprout. You need to water every day and believe, even if you do not see results. One day suddenly the bamboo grows abruptly.

Este foi o momento em que Si Fu ganhou a camisa do bambu e Si Sok Marcelo Abreu a de uma ameixeira. Ambas feitas por Si Taai Gung e entregue a eles em sua residencia em NY. Ele na ocasião disse que as camisas refletiam suas personalidades.

This was the time when Si Fu won the bamboo shirt and Si Sok Marcelo Abreu a plum one. Both made by Si Taai Gung and delivered to them in his residence in NY. He said at the time that the shirts reflected their personalities.

Nos abraçamos e ali mais um ano se findava e um novo começava. Nunca imaginei que chegaria

tão longe. Eu queria ser um Mestre, sempre quis. Mas longe eu falo no sentido de ser homenageado de forma tão incrível por tão pouco. Obviamente, isso só se deu pelo árduo e paciente trabalho de pessoas como Si Sok André(foto) e tantos outros comigo durante anos...

We hugged each other and once again another year is over and a new one is beginning. I never thought I would come this far. I wanted to be a Master, I always wanted. But I speak far towards being honored in such incredible way for so little that I made. Obviously, this was only possible trough the hard and patient work of people like Si Sok Andre Cardoso and many others to me for years ...
