E hoje o BLOG DO PEREIRA traz esta entrevista internacional com o discípulo argentino de Mestre Leo Imamura,meu Si Gung, que correu atrás não de um sonho, como o mesmo frisa, e sim, de uma nova realidade.

BLOG: Onde você nasceu e onde vive atualmente?

AD: Nasci em Buenos Aires,Argentina. E agora vivo em Hong Kong depois de viver na Espanha.

BLOG: Quando se pensa em Brasil e Argentina ao redor do mundo, logo vem  futebol e dança na cabeça das pessoas. Mas você com 10 anos começou a  praticar artes marciais em 1987 não é mesmo? Teve alguma inspiração ou motivação para começar a treinar?

AD: Isso se deu quando eu tinha 10 anos. Na verdade, após assistir um filme de Chuck Norris na TV, meu pai me incentivou a praticar artes marciais.Desde essa idade deixei de jugar futebol e me dediquei inteiramente ao Tae Kwon Do.

BLOG: Where were you born and where you lives now?
 

AD: I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. And now I´m living in Hong Kong after living in Spain.

BLOG: When someone talks about Brazil and Argentina all over the world, then comes football(soccer) and dancing in the minds of people. But with 10 years old you started practicing martial arts in 1987, is not it? Did You had some inspiration or motivation to start training?

AD: That was when I was 10 years old. In fact, after watching a movie with Chuck Norris on TV, my father encouraged me to practice martial arts.Since that age I stopped to play football(soccer) and dedicated myself entirely to Tae Kwon Do.

 BLOG:  2 anos depois você ganhou sua primeira medalha no Tae Kwon Do ao lado de seu irmão gêmeo. A escolha do Tae Kwon Do foi por acaso ou  algo lhe chamava mais a sua atenção nesta modalidade?

AD: Com 10 anos não se tem muitas chances de escolher. Na realidade era o que tinha mais perto de minha casa. Pra dizer a verdade, meu irmão mais velho(que vive na Argentina e trabalha com fotografia,escultura,etc sendo mais um artista.) já havia começado a treinar Tae Kwon Do fazia um ou dois anos, mas parou de treinar. E logo depois retornou com nós dois a treinar.

BLOG: 2 years later you won your first medal in Tae Kwon Do along with your twin brother. The choice of Tae Kwon Do was by accident or something more  called your attention to this sport?
 
AD: With 10 years old you do not have many chances to choose. Actually was the one closest to my house. To tell the truth, my older brother (who lives in Argentina and works with photography, sculpture, etc being also an artist.) Had already started training in Tae Kwon Do did a year or two, but stopped practicing. And then we both returned to training.

BLOG: Você desde muito cedo sempre esteve ligado ao mundo das artse marciais, participando de seminários com personalidades como Bill "superfoot" Wallace. O que tanto lhe encanta nas artes marciais?

AD: Na verdade, não sei muito bem, sempre me pergunto. Mas sei que me sinto completamente identificado não somente com as artes marciais tradicionais, mas também com boxe,UFC bem como os filmes de ação(principalmente os chineses).

BLOG: You were always very deep into the world of martial arts, participating in workshops with people such as Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. What you loves so much in the martial arts?
 

AD: Actually, I'm not sure, I always wonder. But I know that I feel completely identified with not only the traditional martial arts, but also boxing, UFC and action movies (especially the Chinese).

 BLOG: Sabemos que você treinou ainda: Ninjutsu, Aikido, Hung Ga, mas a  principio parece que foi ao Ving Tsun que você se dedicou mais.Como foi seu primeiro contato com esta arte e o que lhe chamou a atenção nela?

AD: Comecei com o Hung Ga Kuen. Logo depois, meu irmão se interessou pelo Ving Tsun. Então o acompanhei numa aula num local chamado Associação Cultural Chinesa em Buenos Aires.Me lembro que a primeira vez que fiz o Yi Ji Kim Yeung Ma seguido do cruzamento de braços na linha central, senti que realmente era a arte que estava buscando ha muito tempo. Já que no Tae Kwon Do ainda que fosse interessante, eu achava que muitas coisas não "encaixavam", principalmente nas formas. Eu prestava muita atenção a este tipo de treinamento e sentia um "vazio". E o Ving Tsun preencheu este "Vazio".

BLOG: We know that you also trained : Ninjutsu, Aikido, Hung Ga, but at first it seems like on Ving Tsun you devoted more heart.How was your first contact with this art and what caught your attention on it?
 
AD: I started with the Hung Ga Kuen. Soon after, my brother became interested in Ving Tsun. Then followed a lecture at a place called the Chinese Cultural Association in Buenos Aires. I remember the first time I made the Yi Ji Kim Yeung Ma followed by crossing my arms on the center line, I felt it was really the art that was searching for a long time . Since in Tae Kwon Do even though it was interesting, I think that many things did not "fit", especially in the forms. I paid much attention to this kind of training and felt an "emptiness." And the Ving Tsun filled this "empty".

"Eu tinha 16 anos e prometi que nunca deixaria de treinar. Na época, quem pagava meu treinamento era eu mesmo. Por isso, fiz muitas coisas para conseguir." - conta o destemido Andrew.

"I had 16 years old and I promise to myself to never stop trainning. At the time, who payed my trains was me. So I did many things to do it!" - tells the brave Andrew

BLOG: Como você conheceu a Moy Yat Ving Tsun?

AD: A primeira vez que escutei sobre a Moy Yat Ving Tsun, pensei em se tratar de um impostor ou algo parecido. Porque comprava revistas americanas de artes marciais(sem entender inglês) e conhecia a todos os mestres existentes mas nunca havia escutado nada sobre Moy Yat.
 Mas aos poucos fui conhecendo através do Si Hing Claudio di Renzo da Argentina. Que me orientou dentro do Sistema Ving Tsun nas minhas primeiras etapas.

BLOG: How did you get to the Moy Yat Ving Tsun?
 

AD: The first time I heard about the Moy Yat Ving Tsun, I thought of this as an impostor or something like that.'Cause I used to buy American martial arts magazines  (even not understanding English) and knew all the existing teachers but had never heard anything about Moy Yat.But gradually I got to know through the Si Hing Claudio di Renzo from Argentina. Who guided me into the Ving Tsun in my first steps.

Blog: Como foi seu primeiro contato com Mestre Leo Imamura?E porque você decidiu segui-lo?

AD: A primeira vez que vi Si Fu pessoalmente(já que o conhecia através de muitas histórias,pois Si Hing Claudio sempre falava sobre ele) foi em São Paulo. Quando viajei junto de meu irmão Steven para passar uma semana no antigo Núcleo Central da MYVT.
Acredito que tinhamos 18 anos, e era a primeira vez que saiamos do país sozinhos,por isso tivemos que ter a permissão por escrita de nossos pais.Também foi a primeira vez que andamos de avião.

Foi uma grande aventura.Queriamos treinar e conhecer outro lugar e cultura. E
ao ficar 8 dias sozinho no Brasil,me senti profundamente ligado ao Mo Gun.Algo que meu irmão não sentiu e então eu perguntei ao Si Fu(Mestre Leo Imamura) o que deveria fazer para viver no Mo Gun. Já que muitas pessoas moravam lá, e entre elas, Leandro Godoy e Homero Pereira que me ajudaram muito em meus primeiros momentos no Mo Gun.

Blog: How was your first contact with Master Leo(10G VT), and why you decided to follow him?
 

AD: The first time I saw Si Fu personally (since I knew him through many stories, because Si Hing Claudio always talked about him) was in Sao Paulo city(BRazil). When I traveled with my twin brother Steven to spend a week in the old Central Branch of MYVT in Brazil.I believe we had 18 years old, and was the first time that we leave the country alone, so we had to have written permission from our parents.Also was the first time I took a  plane.
It was a great adventure. We wanted to know another place and culture. 8 days staying in Brazil alone, I felt deeply connected to Mo Gun.Something not feel by my brother and then I asked Si Fu (Master Leo) what I should do to live in Mo Gun. Since many people lived there, and among them, Leandro Godoy and Homero Pereira(11G VT), who helped me in my first moments on the Mo Gun.

AD:Si Fu sempre era muito direto comigo e senti que devia estar com ele para poder entender esse processo que chamamos de Vida Kung Fu.Em resumo, regressei ao Nucleo Central em Novembro de 97, no dia 17 para ser exato. Decidi viver lá porque para mim seria a melhor maneira de aprender Ving Tsun. Foi assim que vivi por sete anos. E em Janeiro de 2005, após passar por diferentes processos e etapas optei por deixar o Mo Gun para me dedicar as coreografias de luta.

AD: Si Fu was always very straightforward with me and I felt I should be with him in order to understand this process we call Kung Fu Life .In short, I returned to the Hub in November 1997, on the 17th to be exact. I decided to live there because It would be the best way to learn Ving Tsun. That was how I lived for seven years. And in January 2005, after passing through different processes and steps I opted to leave the  Mo Gun to devote myself to the fight choreography.

BLOG: No seu período no Brasil, teve algum Si Hing que você tenha se sentido mais próximo?

AD: Tive muitos Si Hings e Si Dais se posso assim dizer já que por exemplo Leandro Godoy é meu Si Dai mais em muitas ocasiões se comportava como meu Si Hing em Brasil quando cheguei.

BLOG: During his time in Brazil, Did you had some Si Hing that you felt closest to ?
 

AD: I had many Si Hings  and Si Dais if I may say so since such Leandro Godoy is my Si Dai but  on many occasions behaved like my Si Hing in Brazil when I arrived.

AD: Fabio Matsushita era o "Yin e Yang". Muitas vezes passei por momentos bons e outras discutiamos muito, mas era tudo porque queriamos o melhor para a MYVT. Cada um do seu jeito.
Também Nataniel "O Natan" (como sempre o chamei), era o exemplo a seguir quando se fala em treinamento e dedicação. Washintong , Osse, Dorival, Sabato, Lima, etc etc... Si Dai que estavam lá quando se precisava. Assim, quando se vive num Mo Gun, seus amigos são seus Si Hings e Si Dais.

AD: Fabio Matsushita was the "Yin and Yang." Many times I went through good times and others we would discuss much, but it was all because we wanted the best for MYVT. Each in his own way.Nathaniel also "The Nathan" (as I always called him) was the example to follow when it comes to training and dedication. Washintong, Osse, Dorival, Sabato, Lima, etc etc ... Si Dai who were there when needed. So when you live in a Mo Gun , your friends are your Si  Hings and Si Dais.

Anos depois, ele mesmo já poderia empunhar o bastão da arte pela qual se apaixonou tantos anos antes.

BLOG: Qual o momento com seu SI Fu Leo Imamura você gostaria de destacar?

AD: Eu adorava ir a Salto com Si Fu. Geralmente acompanhavamos ele de carro até sua casa nas noites de Quinta. Lembro também de suas chamadas de atenção pra mim quando algo não funcionava ou dava errado,mas todas estas coisas servem e muito, mas do que acreditamos.

BLOG: What's your moment with Si Gung Leo Imamura  you would like to highlight?

 AD: I loved going to Salto City  with Si Fu. Generally We followed him by car to his house on Thursday nights. I also remember when used to calls my attention  when something went wrong or did not work, but all these things serve a lot, much more than we believe.


"Recordo da primeira vez que Si Fu me pediu um favor, na verdade,não o fiz bem. Então Si Fu me chamou a atenção,  e naquele dia entendi o que estava fazendo ali.
Si Mo (foto) também sempre foi muito atenciosa comigo, eu creio que talvez de maneira mais sutil que Si Fu. Pois ela não aparecia muito no Mo Gun em alguns momentos, mas sempre estava quando se precisava." - completa Si Sok Andrew

"I remember the first time that Si Fu asked me a favor, actually, I did not do well. So Si Fu called my attention, and that day I understood what I was doing there.Si Mo (photo above) also was always very attentive to me, I think perhaps more subtly than Si Fu. Because she did not appear much in Mo Gun, but she was there always when it was needed. "- Si Sok Andrew complete

"Todos os dias tinham situações interessantes desde que fui morar no Mo Gun. Chegava a treinar 40 horas semanais durante 3 meses. Então aprendi o idioma para ajudar no Nucleo Central. Eram muitas coisas." - Lembra Si Sok de sua época.

"Everyday we had some situations since I went to live there. I work out almost 40 hours per week. So I learned the portuguese to help the Mo Gun on administrative questions. There were a lot of things." Remember Si Sok.

BLOG:  Em 2002 você foi convidado por seu Si Fu Leo Imamura a iniciar o Baat Jaam Do. E entre 1996 e 2004 você se dedicou bastante a Moy Yat Ving Tsun. Passou ou passa pela sua cabeça se tornar um Si Fu com um Mo Gun representando a Moy Yat Ving Tsun um dia?

AD: Na verdade de 97 a 2004 fiz tudo que estava a meu alcance dentro do Mo Gun.Isso meu deu a experiência suficiente para ver os pontos positivos e negativos de ter um Mo Gun. Penso que meu tempo dentro da MYVT de maneira administrativa chegou ao fim. Agora prefiro apenas ter alunos privativos. É uma opção que decidi para poder dividir meu tempo com a atuação e coreografia de lutas.

BLOG: In 2002 you were invited by his Si Fu Leo Imamura to Starting Baat Jaam Do. And between 1996 and 2004 you are dedicated enough to Moy Yat Ving Tsun. Passed through your mind become a Si Fu and have a Mo Gun  representing the Moy Yat Ving Tsun one day?

 AD: Actually from '97 to 2004 I did everything that was within my reach within the Mo Gun.That gave me enough experience to see the positives and negatives points  of having a Mo Gun . I think my time in the way of administrative MYVT is now over. Now I'd rather just have private students. It's an option I decided to divide up my time with acting and choreography of fights.

AD: O interessante é que existe muita similaridade na organização de um Nucleo da MYVT (pelo seu profissionalismo) e produção de filmes. E então quando começamos a produção do filme STUNT GAMES(juegos de Lucha)

auxiliamos tanto eu e meu irmão o diretor e em diferentes tarefas.

Sem duvida , a experiencia na MYVT me serviu para resolver situações que muitas vezes gente do mundo do cinema nao sabe como lidar.

AD: The interesting thing is that there is much similarity in the organization of a MYVTMI branch (for its professionalism) and film production. And then when we started the film production STUNT GAMES (juegos de lucha)assist both myself and my brother  the director in different tasks.Undoubtedly, the experience has served me in MYVT to resolve situations that often people from the film world does not know how to cope.

BLOG: Você contracenou com um de meus atores favoritos, Gordon Liu(Pai Mei de KILL BILL). Como  foi ? Poderia nos contar sobre esta experiência?

BLOG: You filmed with the legend Gordon Liu(Pai Mei from KILL BILL) one of my favorite actors. How was that?

AD: Na verdade quem filmou com Gordon Liu foi meu irmão gêmeo Steven Dasz. Na verdade esse foi um papel oferecido a mim, mas tinha acabado de voltar a Madrid com outros compromissos então decidi dar a oportunidade a meu irmão. Essa é a vantagem de ser gêmeo! Além do que fez  um otimo trabalho mesmo lesionado nos joelhos.

AD: Indeed that was my twin brother Steven Dasz. I was going to play with Gordon Liu, but I was already in Madrid(Spain) to do some bussiness and I let my bro take the place. This is one of the advantages to have a twin brother. And he did a great job even with his injuried knee.
