KUNG FU LIFE WITH MASTER FABIO GOMES

 

"Faaala, Thiagooo! Booom diaaa!" — Geralmente é assim que o Mestre Fabio Gomes atende os telefonemas que faço para ele, mesmo quando são muito cedo. Quando ligo, muitas vezes estou com algum assunto na cabeça para tratar com ele, e minha voz tende a ficar séria, mas sua energia incrível já me faz começar a rir imediatamente — "Tem que vibrar!" — Diz ele gargalhando. Por isso, ter um contato mais próximo com o Mestre Fabio Gomes tem sido uma fonte de grande felicidade e inspiração. Desta forma, fiz de tudo para organizar uma de nossas reuniões de modo que meus discípulos Daniel (foto acima à direita) e Rodrigo (foto acima à esquerda) pudessem estar com ele. Sabia que seria uma conversa especial e inspiradora, e não estava errado.

Rodrigo reside hoje na cidade de Blumenau ao sul do país e, assim como eu quando vou passar alguns dias com Si Gung em São Paulo, ele fez o mesmo no Rio. Nessas minhas visitas a São Paulo, percebo o quanto o Si Gung, Grão Mestre Leo Imamura, permite que participemos do seu dia a dia, mas sempre tudo dentro da Dimensão Kung Fu. Desta maneira, você convive com o Si Gung e ele abre aulas, reuniões, momentos familiares, tudo o que for possível para você imergir em seu dia a dia. E tudo se torna muito natural. "Você pode ficar com meus pais enquanto pego o carro?" — perguntou Si Gung certa vez. Com isso, quis proporcionar o mesmo para Rodrigo, Daniel e quem mais quisesse estar conosco nesses dias de altas aventuras.

"Heeey, Thiagooo! Gooood morning!" — This is usually how Master Fabio Gomes answers the phone when I call him, even if it’s very early. When I call, I often have something on my mind to discuss with him, and my voice tends to sound serious, but his incredible energy immediately makes me start laughing — "You’ve got to vibrate!" — he says, laughing heartily. Therefore, having closer contact with Master Fabio Gomes has been a great source of happiness and inspiration. For this reason, I did everything I could to organise one of our meetings so that my disciples Daniel (photo above right) and Rodrigo (photo above left) could be with him. I knew it would be a special and inspiring conversation, and I was not wrong.

Rodrigo now lives in Blumenau in the south of the country, and just as I do when I spend a few days with Si Gung in São Paulo, he did the same in Rio. During my visits to São Paulo, I notice how much Si Gung, Grandmaster Leo Imamura, allows me to participate in his daily life, but always within the Kung Fu Dimension. This way, you live with Si Gung and he opens up his classes, meetings, family moments, everything possible for you to immerse yourself in his day-to-day life. And everything becomes very natural. "Can you stay with my parents while I go get the car?" — Si Gung once asked. With this, he wanted to provide the same experience for Rodrigo, Daniel, and anyone else who wanted to be with us during these days of high adventure.

Mestre Fabio Gomes pôde compartilhar com meus discípulos, de maneira muito emocionante, seu momento de vida após 25 anos de muita dedicação, acreditando em seu projeto de utilização do Sistema Ving Tsun no trabalho com Forças de Operações Especiais, além de empresas que atuam em "safety and security". Eu queria que meus discípulos pudessem ouvir diretamente dele como tem sido a experiência de lidar com todos os resultados positivos após um nível impressionante de perseverança por mais de duas décadas — "Kung Fu também é resultado, não pode ser só processo" — teria dito Si Gung certa vez. E o Mestre Fabio Gomes tem demonstrado todos esses resultados, até que não resistiu e fez uma brincadeira — "Bom, mas vamos falar da Tailândia"(Projeto)— abriu o celular — "Você já veio até de Van Damme com essa camiseta" — disse ele sério e depois começou a gargalhar (risos).

Mais tarde, apareceu o querido Comandos Marcelo Alves. Infelizmente, não registramos sua presença, mas, apesar de ter sido uma passagem rápida, já que ele estava ocupado em outra reunião, foi bom revê-lo.

Master Fabio Gomes was able to share with my disciples, in a very moving way, his life experience after 25 years of dedication, believing in his project of applying the Ving Tsun System in work with Special Operations Forces, as well as companies involved in "safety and security". I wanted my disciples to hear directly from him about the experience of dealing with all the positive results after an impressive level of perseverance for over two decades — "Kung Fu is also about results; it can’t be just about the process" — Si Gung once said. And Master Fabio Gomes has demonstrated all these results, to the point where he couldn’t resist making a joke — "Well, let’s talk about Thailand"(a project) — he opened his phone — "You even came dressed like Van Damme in that tank top" — he said seriously before bursting into laughter (laughs).

Later, the dear Comandos Marcelo Alves showed up. Unfortunately, we didn’t capture his presence on camera, but despite it being a brief visit, as he was busy with another meeting, it was good to see him again.

Mestre Fabio Gomes sempre me impressiona com suas apresentações e seriedade no trabalho, já que a pessoa sempre divertida e com risada fácil dá lugar a alguém com muita precisão em cada fala e olhar sério. Sua participação mais recente na instrução do Sistema Ving Tsun para a formação de novos COMANDOS e Forças Especiais, com a ajuda do COMANDOS Marcelo Alves, teve um nível de entrega muito alto de sua parte, como a sua esposa, a Sra. Adriana, compartilhou comigo em alguma ocasião que não me recordo.

Mestre Fabio faz parte da "Moy Yat Ving Tsun Safeguard Group" desde junho de 2024, a convite do Grão-Mestre Leo Imamura. Talvez você possa se perguntar: "Mas o que tem a ver o trabalho do Mestre Fabio com a salvaguarda do Sistema?". O que tenho acompanhado nos últimos dois anos é um discípulo que consulta seu Si Fu a cada passo dado, não apenas para se informar sobre a melhor abordagem, mas também para tirar dúvidas honestas. Inclusive, quando o "Safeguard Group" foi apresentado, ele foi um dos mais interessados em saber do que se tratava e como se inserir. Por isso, é difícil ver o Mestre Fabio dar um passo em seus projetos utilizando o Sistema Ving Tsun sem consultar o Si Gung. Então, acima de qualquer coisa, a atitude do Si Suk Fabio é admirável, e meus discípulos puderam, naquela sexta-feira, ouvir diretamente dele sobre sua ética ao consultar o Si Gung antes de qualquer uso relacionado ao Sistema Ving Tsun da Linhagem Moy Yat. Afinal, entendendo o conceito de "Pseudo-parentesco" [拟亲属] e que, nesse "Pseudo-parentesco" [拟亲属], temos uma responsabilidade com a Linhagem, meus discípulos, que vêm tendo um contato mais intenso com Si Gung a respeito disso, compreenderam a ética do Mestre Fabio.

Master Fabio Gomes always impresses me with his presentations and work ethics, as the usually cheerful and easy-going person gives way to someone with great precision in every word and serious look. His most recent involvement in teaching the Ving Tsun System for the formation of new COMMANDOS and Special Forces, with the help of COMANDOS Marcelo Alves, demonstrated a very high level of commitment on his part, as his wife, Mrs. Adriana, shared with me on some occasion I cannot recall.

Master Fabio has been a part of the "Moy Yat Ving Tsun Safeguard Group" since June 2024, at the invitation of Grandmaster Leo Imamura. You might be wondering: "What does Master Fabio's work have to do with the safeguarding of the System?" What I have observed over the past two years is a disciple who consults his Si Fu at every step, not only to get advice on the best approach but also to ask honest questions. In fact, when the "Safeguard Group" was introduced, he was one of the most interested in understanding what it involved and how to get involved. Therefore, it is rare to see Master Fabio take a step in his projects using the Ving Tsun System without consulting Si Gung. Thus, above all, Si Suk Fabio's attitude is admirable, and my disciples were able, on that Friday, to hear directly from him about his ethics in consulting Si Gung before any use related to the Ving Tsun System of the Moy Yat Lineage. After all, understanding the concept of "Pseudo-kinship" [拟亲属] and that in this "Pseudo-kinship" [拟亲属] we have a responsibility to the Lineage, my disciples, who have been having more intensive contact with Si Gung on this matter, understood Master Fabio's ethics.

A tarde terminou com a presença sempre especial da esposa do Mestre Fabio Gomes, a Sra. Adriana Lima, que elogiou meu novo corte de cabelo, que, como escrevi em alguns artigos passados, havia sido uma sugestão do Si Gung em uma das viagens recentes para São Paulo. A Sra. Adriana estava realmente tocada e compartilhou comigo algumas palavras muito especiais. Teria dito ela: "...Thiago, o visual da gente diz muito a nosso respeito. Você é um excelente mestre, dá ótimos exemplos a seus discípulos e a toda a família Kung Fu. Então, o seu visual importa muito. Se você está no shopping distraído, a outra pessoa pode não estar, e te reconhecerá e associará você ao que vê e não ao que é..."

Todos esses momentos especiais naquela tarde com a Sra. Adriana, com o COMANDOS Marcelo Alves e com o Mestre Fabio Gomes puderam ser compartilhados com meus discípulos. Eles apenas estavam ali vivendo tudo aquilo comigo. E torci para que tivessem uma experiência tão significativa quanto as que eu tenho em São Paulo.

The afternoon ended with the always special presence of Master Fabio Gomes's wife, Mrs. Adriana Lima, who complimented my new haircut. As I mentioned in some previous articles, it had been a suggestion from Si Gung during one of the recent trips to São Paulo. Mrs. Adriana was genuinely moved and shared some very special words with me. She would have said:

"...Thiago, our appearance says a lot about us. You are an excellent master, setting great examples for your disciples and for the entire Kung Fu family. Therefore, your appearance matters a lot. If you are at the shopping mall distracted, the other person might not be, and they will recognise you and associate you with what they see rather than who you are..."

All these special moments that afternoon with Mrs. Adriana, with COMANDOS Marcelo Alves, and with Master Fabio Gomes were shared with my disciples. They were simply there, experiencing it all with me. And I hoped that they had an experience as meaningful as the ones I have in São Paulo.
