THE NEW 'WOODEN DUMMY' OF THE MOY FAT LEI FAMILY: The romantics of Kung Fu

 Esta semana, tivemos a chegada do novo 'Muk Yan Jong' da Família Moy Fat Lei. Ele ficará disposto na casa do Discípulo José Carlos, e é fruto de uma interação muito especial entre eu e alguns de meus discípulos, conforme falei em um artigo recente( CLIQUE AQUI). E como tudo o que fazemos, buscamos a excelência, alguns ajustes nas medidas precisam ser feitos. Bem poucos até, mas sempre dá para melhorar. 

This week, we had the arrival of the new 'Muk Yan Jong' of the Moy Fat Lei Family. It will be available at the home of the Disciple José Carlos, and is the result of a very special interaction between me and some of my disciples, as I said in an article recent (CLICK HERE). And like everything we do, we strive for excellence, some adjustments in measures need to be made. Very few, but it always improves.

Para o discípulo Keith Markus, que participou deste grupo de estudos batizado carinhosamente de 'Muk Yan Jong Club'. Lhe foi possível assumir um certo protagonismo durante todo o processo. O romantismo com o qual buscou o Ving Tsun inicialmente, e que claro, envolvia o Muk Yan Jong. Manifestou-se num trabalho muito comprometido, para que em pouquíssimo tempo, a ideia se transformasse em projeto e este se transformasse no primeiro Muk Yan Jong pensado pela nossa Família Kung Fu. Essa atitude voltada para a realização, acabou por inspirar seus outros irmãos Kung Fu que estavam participando do projeto. Este tipo de pessoa numa Família Kung Fu, meu Si Fu chamou recentemente ( Fazendo alusão a um texto de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat sobre 'Siu Nim Tau' onde o mesmo aparece) de: 'Kai Dik Ji Yan (啟迪之⼈)

For the disciple Keith Markus, who participated in this study group, affectionately called 'Muk Yan Jong Club'. It was possible for him to assume a certain leading role during the entire process. The romanticism with which he sought Ving Tsun initially, and of course, involved Muk Yan Jong. He manifested himself in a very committed work, so that in a very short time, the idea would become a project and this would become the first Muk Yan Jong designed by our Kung Fu Family. This attitude towards realization, ended up inspiring his other Kung Fu brothers who were participating in the project. This type of person in a Kung Fu Family, my Si Fu recently called (Alluding to a text by Si Taai Gung Moy Yat on 'Siu Nim Tau' where it appears): 'Kai Dik Ji Yan' (啟迪 之 ⼈)

Às vezes quando estava com meu pai no carro, ele ligava o rádio no último volume tocando alguma música da banda 'Creedance Clearwater Revival'. Ele realmente se empolgava e fazia até alguns movimentos de dança enquanto dirigia. - "Isso era muito bom, Thiago!' - dizia ele gritando para ser escutado enquanto pessoas passavam estupefatas nos carros ao lado do nosso. E apesar de não me conectar muito com a animação dele, minha música preferida dessa banda sempre foi "Fortunate Son". Depois que ele faleceu, passei a escutar de vez em quando. 

Com meu discípulo Vitor Sá(FOTO), quando se trata de "Muk Yan Jong", me sinto como meu pai falando do "Creedance" no carro(risos). Existe um certo nível de romantismo na maneira com que lido com o boneco, que o Vitor(Um de meus discípulos mais antigos) não compartilha(Risos)E nem precisa(É importante deixar isso claro). 

Ele participou ativamente de todo o processo com muito empenho e atenção. Ao final desta jornada e com o "Muk Yan Jong" já pronto. Dei a ele de presente, uma das matérias mais famosas de todos os tempos da Revista Inside Kung Fu: Ela indagava, se no Templo Shaolin(SIU LAM) teria havido uma viela pela qual os monges deveriam passar, e que nela seriam atacados por bonecos de madeira. 

A matéria fica no plano do fantástico com tamanha intensidade, que é reservada apenas para os românticos do Kung Fu. Na foto acima, entrego ela ao Vitor, como uma lembrança desta nossa jornada de três meses no "Muk Yan Jong Club".  Hoje as músicas do "Creedance" me lembram dos meus momentos no carro do meu pai com ele, morrendo de vergonha de sua cantoria e de suas coreografias. Mas são lembranças que me trazem um sorriso. "Creedance" virou a "banda do carro do meu pai". No futuro, essa matéria recebida pelo Vitor, será minimamente uma boa recordação. 

Sometimes when I was with my dad(RIP 1954-2018) in the car, he turned on the radio on the last volume playing some music of the band 'Creedance Clearwater Revival'. He really got excited and even did some dance moves while driving. - "This band was geart, Thiago! ' - He used to say, shouting to be heard over the music,while people passed by in astonishment in the cars next to ours. And although I didn't connect much with his animation, my favorite song of this band was always "Fortunate Son". After he passed away, I started to listen to it.

With my disciple Vitor Sá (PHOTO), when it comes to "Muk Yan Jong", I feel like my father talking about "Creedance" in the car (laughs) to me. There is a certain level of romanticism in the way I deal with the dummy, which Vitor (One of my oldest disciples) does not share (Laughter) And does not even need (It is important to make this clear).

He actively participated in the whole process with great commitment and attention. At the end of this journey and with "Muk Yan Jong" already ready. I gave him as a gift, one of the most famous articles of all time from Inside Kung Fu Magazine: The author of the article asked if in the Shaolin Temple (SIU LAM) there had been an alley through which monks should pass, and which would be attacked by wooden men

The article is on the level of the fantastic with such intensity, that it is reserved only for Kung Fu romantics. In the photo above, I give it to Vitor, as a reminder of our three-month journey at the "Muk Yan Jong Club". Today "Creedance" songs remind me of my moments in my father's car with him, ashamed of his singing and choreography. But they are memories that bring me a smile. "Creedance" became "my dad's car band". In the future, this article received by Vitor will be a good memory at least.

E me peguei pensando ao final de tudo, que foi exatamente o "Muk Yan Jong", a primeira coisa que vi dentro do Mo Gun, quando Si fu abriu a porta para mim pela primeira vez em Abril de 1999. Nunca conseguirei compreender, a razão do fascínio que o "Muk Yan Jong" causa nos românticos do Kung Fu, como eu.

And I found myself thinking at the end of it, which was exactly "Muk Yan Jong", the first thing I saw inside Mo Gun, when Si fu opened the door for me for the first time in April 1999. I will never be able to understand, the reason of the fascination that "Muk Yan Jong" causes in Kung Fu romantics, like me.
