THE NEW 13TH GENERATION DISCIPLES.OF MOY FAT LEI FAMILY

Depois de vinte anos, eu acreditava que em termos de Cerimônias Tradicionais, eu poderia até me emocionar, mas não descobrir nada de novo. Eu estava completamente enganado... Pois na noite do última dia 20 de Dezembro, por conta do tamanho do Jing Tong (Salão Principal), havia convidado meu Si Fu e Si Mo a sentarem-se nas cadeiras com braço (Gau Yi) e uma modesta cadeira havia sido posicionada, à meu pedido, de lado para o Si Fu para mim. Ele então puxou a cadeira, e a colocou à frente da Mesa Ancestral(Sam Toi). 
Você me via ali sentado, e parecia que o mundo estava sobre as minhas costas...E talvez estivesse mesmo. Não só a sensação estranha de estar à frente de meu Si Fu e Si Mo, mas de ter toda a ancestralidade as minhas costas. Fiquei então muito impressionado em como uma simples mudança de posição da cadeira, poderia mexer tanto comigo em termos simbólicos...

After twenty years, I believed that in terms of Traditional Ceremonies, I might even get emotional but not discover anything new. I was completely mistaken ... Because on the night of December 20th, because of the size of the Jing Tong (Main Hall), I had invited my Si Fu and Si Mo to sit in the armchairs (Gau Yi) and a modest chair had been positioned, at my request, sideways to Si Fu, for me. He then pulled out the chair and placed it in front of the Ancestral Table (Sam Toi).

You saw me sitting there, and it felt like the world was on my back ... And maybe it was. Not only the strange feeling of being ahead of my Si Fu and Si Mo, but of having all the ancestry behind me. I was very impressed then how a simple change of chair position could move me so much in symbolic terms ...

Si Fu fez um discurso muito impactante sobre relação discipular. Mais do que palavras, a maneira pela qual ele montou seu raciocínio, fazia seu discurso ter várias camadas. Assim, parecia que ele estava falando diretamente para a gente. Acredito que tenha sido, dos que presenciei, seu melhor e mais importante discurso sobre o tema em todos estes anos.

Si Fu gave a very striking speech about master and disciple relationship. More than words, the manner in which he assembled his reasoning made his speech multilayered. So it looked like he was talking straight to each of us individually. I believe it was his best and most important speech on the subject in all these years.

Ter a Si Mo conosco também foi muito especial. Si Mo entrou em nossas vidas, bem no momento em que eu passei a me dedicar à minha Família Kung Fu, não podendo estar tanto no dia a dia do Mo Gun na Barra da Tijuca. Por isso, nossos encontros são bem pontuais. Mas isso também me permite ter uma visão episódica dos diferentes momentos aparentes de Si Mo.

Having Si Mo with us was also very special. Si Mo came into our lives, just as I started dedicating myself to my Kung Fu Family, not being able to be so much in Mo Gun's daily life in Barra da Tijuca. Therefore, our meetings are very punctual. But it also allows me to have an episodic view of Si Mo's different apparent moments.

Dentro da sala, tinham Apresentadores (Gai Siu Yan), meus irmãos Kung Fu, os discipulandos, fotógrafa, cinegrafista e o Mestre de Cerimônias também. Foi uma organização diferenciada, mas que ciou uma ambiência bem poderosa para que ficava bem no meio destas pessoas para realizar o "Baai Si". Enquanto isso, o público do lado de fora em outro cômodo, assistia tudo por chrome cast.

Inside the room were Introducers (Gai Siu Yan), my Kung Fu brothers, the new disciples, photographer, cameraman and Master of Ceremonies as well. It was a different organization, but it created a very powerful ambience so that it was right in the middle of these people to perform "Baai Si". Meanwhile, the audience outside in another room watched it all by chrome cast.

Matheus Alves, que realizou o Baai Si no primeiro semestre de 2019, foi o "Mestre de Cerimônias". Matheus acabou de entrar na "casa dos vinte" e acabou de acessar do Domínio Cham Kiu também. Sua maturidade e envolvimento, tem sido bem impressionantes. Principalmente no que diz respeito a dar um novo significado à sua interação com o mundo, superando sua timidez por exemplo.

Matheus Alves, who performed Baai Si in the first half of 2019, was the "Master of Ceremonies". Matheus has just entered the "twenties" and just accessed  the Cham Kiu Domain as well. His maturity and involvement has been quite impressive. Especially as it gives new meaning to his interaction with the world, overcoming his shyness for example.

naquela noite tão especial. O apresentador de Jorio foi meu discípulo Filipe Lima.

Na oportunidade, Si Fu entregou aos novos discípulos o broche de nosso Clã.

O membro vitalício, é um praticante que decidiu adentrar numa camada mais profunda da relação 

Si Fu-To Dai, tornando-se um legatário em potencial daquilo que o Si Fu tem para entregar. 

The disciple is a practitioner who has decided to enter a deeper layer of the 

Si Fu-To Dai relationship, becoming a potential legatee of what a Si Fu has to pass down.

A presença de Si Fu e Si Mo neste tipo de ocasião é importante por vários fatores. Um deles, é que o simples fato de se fazerem presentes numa cerimônia de discipulado da minha Família, demonstra sua anuência para com o evento.

The presence of Si Fu and Si Mo on this type of occasion is important for several reasons. One is that simply being present at a Family discipleship ceremony demonstrates his agreement to the event.

A Família Moy Fat Lei chega agora ao número de quinze membros vitalícios. Por muito pouco, não tivemos todos presentes no mesmo recinto nesta noite de Sexta. Apenas Thalles Cunha, que acaba de ser pai, teve que dar atenção à sua filha recém nascida. 

Ter quatorze dos quinze membros vitalícios da Família sob o mesmo teto numa noite de Sexta, mostra ao menos para mim, o quão acertados estão sendo estes convites. Eu me acho um cara de sorte também. 

The Moy Fat Lei Family now reaches fifteen special students. We almost,  have presents in the same room on Friday night all the disciples at the same time. Only Thalles Cunha, who has just become a  father, had to pay attention to his newborn daughter was at home.

Having fourteen of the fifteen special students  under one roof on a Friday night at least shows me just how right these invitations are. I think I'm a lucky guy too.

Quando a Cerimônia acabou e eu me levantei. Literalmente me senti mais leve. Acredito muito na força que damos a um símbolo e por isso também as cerimônias são tão importantes. Para mim por exemplo, ela renovou o meu entendimento a respeito de todas as pessoas que deram a vida para salvaguardar o Sistema Ving Tsun, e que ao aceitar um novo discípulo, me responsabilizo por essa pessoa junto aos ancestrais.

When the ceremony was over and I got up. I literally felt  myself lighter. I really believe in the strength we give to a symbol and that is why ceremonies are so important as well. For me, for example, it  has renewed my understanding of all the people who gave their lives to safeguard the Ving Tsun System, and that by accepting a new disciple, I take responsibility for that person with the ancestors.
