Grand Master Leo in Rio´s Freguesia MYVT Branch last weekend!

Eu estava feliz quando saí de casa pela manhã. Receberíamos Si Gung no Núcleo Freguesia, que é dirigido pelo Mestre Felipe Soares, e é relativamente próximo à minha casa. Meu plano era aproveitar aquela linda manhã e ir caminhando até lá, mas acabei me atrasando e então você podia me ver no ponto esperando o ônibus. Quando entrei no ônibus da Linha 636, Guilherme de Farias, meu irmão Kung Fu com o qual havia marcado de tomar café da manhã juntos estava lá.

I was happy when I left my house in the morning. We would receive Si Gung in Freguesia MYVT Branch, which is run by Master Felipe Soares, and is relatively close to my house. My plan was to enjoy that beautiful morning and walk there, but I ended up being late and then you could see me at the bus stop waiting for the bus. When I got on the bus of the Line 636, Guilherme de Farias, my Kung Fu brother with whom I had booked breakfast together was there.

O 636 tem dessas coisas: Lembro que pegava ele para chegar até a faculdade em 2003, e uma menina que gostava também usava essa linha Não era incomum ficar torcendo para que ela pegasse o mesmo ônibus , o que geralmente acontecia e me possibilitava ter longas conversas com ela. Desta vez quem estava lá era o Gui, mas foi legal também. Afinal, não tínhamos um momento assim a muito tempo! E o bom de se estar participando de uma visita oficial de outro Núcleo, é que você pode simplesmente curtir o momento.

The 636 bus line has these things: I remember I used to take this bus to get to college in 2003, and a girl I liked also used that line. It was not unusual to see me waiting for her to catch the same bus, which usually happened and enabled me to have long conversations with her. This time it was Gui(photo), but it was cool too. After all, we did not have a moment like this for a long time! And the good thing about participating in an official visit of another school is that you can just enjoy the moment.

Os temas propostos pelos membros do Núcleo Freguesia foram muito interessantes. Tínhamos presentes membros de todos os Núcleos do Rio de Janeiro naquele final de semana. E após falar um pouco sobre o livro escolhido pelos membros da Família Moy Fei Lap. Si Gung fez uma prática relacionada ao tema, usando um conteúdo do Nível 4 do Ving Tsun Experience. Na foto, vemos o momento que com a ajuda de Clayton Meireles, Diretor Adjunto do Núcleo Barra, explicava o trabalho.

The themes proposed by the members of the Freguesia MYVT Branch were very interesting. We had members of all the Schools of Rio de Janeiro present that weekend. And after talking a little about the book chosen by members of the Moy Fei Lap Family. Si Gung did a practice related to the theme, using Level 4 content from the Ving Tsun Experience Program. In the photo, we see the moment that with the help of Clayton Meireles, Deputy Director of  Barra MYVT Branch, explained the work.

Para quem não sabe, os To Dai do meu Si Suk Felipe Soares, Marcelo, Moisés e Charles, construiram com supervisão do Si Suk Diego Guadelupe um Muk Yan Jong maravilhoso que hoje está disposto no Núcleo Freguesia. Esse trabalho parece ter durado cerca de dois anos, até que desenvolvessem a técnica necessária e entendessem as sutilezas do trabalho com a madeira.

For those who do not know, the To Dai of my Si Suk Felipe Soares, Marcelo, Moisés and Charles, built with supervision of Si Suk Diego Guadelupe a wonderful Muk Yan Jong that is now disposed in the Freguesia MYVT Branch. This work seems to have lasted about two years, until they developed the necessary technique and understood the subtleties of working with wood.

A construção ocorreu nas dependências da residência da sogra do Mestre Diego Guadelupe na Zona Norte do Rio. Marcelo e Moisés visitavam o local com frequência para que o projeto pudesse ser concluído.

The construction took place in the dependencies of the residence of the mother-in-law of the Master Diego Guadelupe in the North Zone of Rio. Marcelo and Moises visited the place frequently so that the project could be completed.

A atividade depois do almoço mais emblemática para mim, se baseou no estudo do Jong. Para Si Suk Diego, foi bem marcante ver seu próprio Si Fu, meu Si Gung Leo Imamura testando o Jong e tecendo comentários a respeito de sua estrutura. De fato, foi um momento marcante para mim também.

The most iconic after-lunch activity for me was based on Jong's study. For Suk Diego, it was very striking to see his own Si Fu, my Si Gung Leo Imamura, testing the Jong and commenting on his structure. In fact, it was a remarkable moment for me too.

Ás vezes é um pouco frustrante quando se é Mestre, participar de um evento assim (risos). As pessoas não te convidam para praticar, por respeito talvez, não sei. Mas então você fica por ali, dando uma orientação ou outra. Mas para os apaixonados por artes marciais, sempre queremos vivenciar as experiências também.
Então , finalmente quando Si Gung perguntou: "Alguém pode mostrar a sequência aqui?" - Ele se referia a primeira parte da sequência do Jong no Nível 4 do Ving Tsun Experience. Eu dei um passo à frente.

Sometimes it's a little frustrating when you're a Master, attending an event like that (laughs). People do not invite you to practice, because of respect perhaps, I do not know. But then you stand there, giving one orientation or another. But for martial arts enthusiasts, we always want to experience the practices as well.
So finally when Si Gung asked, "Can anyone show the sequence here?" He was referring to the first part of the Jong sequence on Level 4 of the Ving Tsun Experience. I stepped forward.

Então você podia me ver ali, cometendo alguns erros e sendo orientado por Si Gung. E naquele momento, pude não só apreciar o trabalho do Si Suk Diego e dos To Dai do Si Suk Felipe com o Muk Yan Jong, mas experimentar um pouco da sensação de ... Ser só um cara ali, tentando acertar.

So you could see me there, making some mistakes and being led by Si Gung. And at that moment, I could not only appreciate the work of Si Suk Diego and the To Dai of Si Suk Felipe with Muk Yan Jong, but to experience some of the sensation of ... Being just a guy there, trying to get it right.

Foi um final de semana muito especial para mim. Pude conversar com Si Gung em vários momentos a sós, por sorte mesmo. E perguntar sobre um monte de temas que tinha curiosidade. Ele falou sobre cada um deles com muito carinho. Além disso, acompanhei Si Suk Felipe e sua esposa Elisa aguardando Si Gung no hotel enquanto ele se trocava para o jantar e batemos um bom papo. Mas não parou por aí! Jantamos juntos e depois no caminho de casa, também nos foi possível trocar muitas experiências sobre nossas carreiras.

It was a very special weekend for me. I was able to talk to Si Gung several times alone, luckily. And ask about a lot of topics that I was curious about. He spoke about each of them with great affection. In addition, I accompanied Si Suk Felipe and his wife Elisa waiting for Si Gung in the hotel while he changed for dinner and had a good chat. But it did not stop there! We dined together and then on the way home, we were also able to exchange many experiences about our careers.

Ah! Agora sim! Finalmente saia de casa no Domingo pela manhã a pé ouvindo "Pride (in the name of love)" do U2. Estava uma manhã incrível e agradável no caminho até a casa de Charles, onde se daria o segundo dia de evento.  Lá, Si Gung coordenava uma prática com alguns dos presentes, enquanto outros como Marcelo e Moisés preparavam o churrasco que aconteceria logo mais (foto). Si Suk Felipe e Elisa preparavam a decoração do local.

Ah! Now yes! Finally leave home on Sunday morning on foot listening to U2's "Pride (in the name of love)". It was an incredible and pleasant morning on the way to Charles's house, where the second day of the event was to be held. There, Si Gung coordinated a practice with some of those present, while others like Marcelo and Moisés prepared the barbecue that would happen soon (photo). Si Suk Felipe and Elisa prepared the decoration of the place.

Si Fu esteve presente no almoço assim como Si Suk Ursula e seu marido Ricardo. Além deles, a irmã de Si Suk Felipe , Si Suk Fernanda, também apareceu. E foi nesse cenário, que Si Suk Felipe tomou a palavra para iniciar o encerramento de um evento que para mim foi muito marcante e produtivo . Aprendi bastante durante os dois dias, e vivenciei momentos muito inspiradores e especiais. Valeu cada minuto!

Si Fu was present at lunch as Si Suk Ursula and her husband Ricardo. In addition to them, Si Suk Felipe's sister, Si Suk Fernanda, also appeared. And it was in this scenario that Si Suk Felipe took the floor to start the closing of an event that for me was very striking and productive. I learned a lot during the two days, and I experienced very inspiring and special moments. 

Foi de fato um final de semana muito especial. Uma pena que acabou. A convivência com Si Gung foi de fato muito especial. E como disse acima, também com Si Suk Felipe. Já que nos vemos muito pouco. Agradeço pelo convite e pela calorosa acolhida !

It was indeed a very special weekend. Too bad it ended. Living with Si Gung was indeed very special. And as I said above, also with Si Suk Felipe. Since we dont see each other frequently. Thank you for the invitation and the warm welcome!
