O diretor Wong Jin, fez uma grande confusão quando em 1990 gravou uma sequência do mega-hit "God of Gamblers"  com Stephen Chow no papel principal e não com Chow Yun Fat.
Stephen Chow, ator hoje consagrado, havia se apaixonado pelo filme original "God of Gamblers" de 1989 e fez uma sensacional paródia chamada "All for the Winner"no ano seguinte, no qual interpreta um rapaz do interior da China continental com poderes paranormais que seu tio de Hong Kong começa a usar em jogos como poker e outros ....

REVIEW: GOD of Gamblers II: THE RETURN OF THE GOD OF Gamblers

The director Wong Jin, made ​​a big mess in 1990 when he recorded a sequel of the mega-hit "God of Gamblers" with Stephen Chow in the lead role and not Chow Yun Fat.

Stephen Chow, is a very famous actor now,he had fallen in love with the original film "God of Gamblers" (1989) and made a sensational spoof called "All for the Winner" in the following year, in which he plays a boy from mainland China with paranormal powers that his uncle in Hong Kong begins to use in games such as poker and others

Honestamente "All for the winner" é um de meus filmes de comédia preferidos! A sequência onde o excelente ator Ng Man Tat, tio de Stephen Chow no filme dá a ele um sobretudo e o proclama "O Santo das Apostas" e que dá lugar a fantástica cena, onde ele parodia a entrada em camera lenta de Chow Yun Fat no filme original é de rolar de rir!!!

Honestly "All for the winner" is one of my favorite comedy movies! The sequence where the excellent actor Ng Man Tat, Stephen Chow's uncle in the film gives him a coat and proclaims him as the "The Saint of Gamblers" and after that a fantastic scene, where he parodies the entry in slow motion by Chow Yun Fat in original film !

"All for the Winner" foi um grande sucesso e lançou Stephen Chow ao estrelato e foi também o início de sua parceria épica com Ng Man Tat... Algo como "Didi e Dedé" do cinema de Hong Kong!
O sucesso foi tanto que acabou chamando a atenção do diretor Wong Jing, que como dito acima, resolveu colocar Stephen no lugar de Chow Yun Fat, e Andy Lau volta em seu papel...

Os fãs reclamaram e finalmente em 1994, Wong Jing chama de volta Chow Yun Fat. Mas sem seu ator coadjuvante Andy Lau.
O filme mostra Ko-Chun(Chow Yun Fat) já aposentado do  mundo das apostas pacificamente na França com sua esposa  Wan Yau (Sharla Cheung) que está grávida.
O casal recebe a inesperada visita do amigo e antigo guarda-costas de Ko Chun, "Dragon".
Enquanto os dois amigos estão conversando sua esposa é assassinada por um taiwanês chamado Chau Siu-Chee (Wu Hsing-kuo), que quer obrigar Ko Chun a voltar a ativa só para lhe tomar o título de "GOD OF GAMBLERS"

The film shows Ko Chun (Chow Yun Fat) retired from the world of gambling living peacefully in France with his wife Wan Yau (Sharla Cheung) who is pregnant.

While the two friends are chatting his wife is murdered by a Taiwanese named Chau Siu-Chee (Wu Hsing-kuo), who wants to force a return of Ko Chun , only for him  take the title of "GOD of Gamblers"

 Acontece que quando Ko-Chun volta pra casa e encontra a esposa prestes a morrer junto de seu filho ainda na barriga, recebe o pedido da moribunda de que por um ano, não se envolverá em apostas e nem revelará sua identidade! Isso para mim não fez o mínimo sentido, mas o personagem obedece e só depois de um ano chega a China Continental, e é aí que o filme erra a mão feio!

It turns out that when Ko-Chun comes home and finds his wife about to die along with her son still in the belly, receives the request of the dying woman that for a year, will not engage in gambling and not reveal his identity! That to me did not make sense at all, but the character obeys and only after a year goes to Mainland China, and it is here that the film becomes a mess...

O filme entra numa série de situações sem sentido, com piadas sem graça e personagens extremamente caricatos que em nada lembram os momentos inesquecíveis do filme original. Talvez Wong Jing tenha tentado fazer um estilo "All for the Winner" neste filme, mas sem Stephen Chow não funciona...

The film goes into a series of meaningless situations with bad jokes and extremely caricatured characters that resemble nothing in the unforgettable moments from the original film. Perhaps Wong Jing has tried to make it like "All for the Winner" , but without Stephen Chow does not work ...

Na época do primeiro filme, um mega-sucesso em toda a Ásia, foi o seriado animado de 1987 baseado em "MIAMI VICE", chamado "CITY HUNTER".
O seriado contava as divertidas aventuras do detetive particular tarado Ryo Saeba.
City Hunter fez tanto sucesso que ganhou sequências, virou novela, filme com Jackie Chan em 1990 e foi sucesso também em Hong Kong...
A série tinha uma caracteristica, sempre que Ryo Saeba chegava pra salvar algum refém, geralmente uma mulher, tocava a música "FOOTSTEPS", uma marca registrada do seriado!

Você passa o filme inteiro esperando que essa música toque, pois todo o restante é dispensável! Por isso, sugiro a você assistir apenas a cena final! rs
