A caminhada em camera lenta acima, foi uma cena parodiada incansavelmente. Ela faz parte de um clássico de Hong Kong chamado "GOD OF GAMBLERS" (赌神) de 1989.

The walk in slow motion above,is a scene parodied relentlessly. It is part of a classic Hong Kong movie called "God of Gamblers" (赌神) 1989.

Neste grande sucesso do final da década de 80,
Chow Yun Fat interpreta Ko-Chun, considerado o maior "gambler"(ou apostador) do planeta, sendo chamado por muitos de "Deus das Apostas".

Ele mantém sua identidade em segredo, e nunca se deixa ser fotografado. As unicas informações sobre sua aparencia, são o anel de jade no dedo mindinho e seus cabelos sempre cuidadosamente penteados com gel para trás.

In this great success of the late 80's,Chow Yun-Fat plays Ko Chun, the greatest "gambler"  on the planet, being called by many the "God of Gamblers."

He keeps his identity as a secret, and never lets himself be photographed. The unique information about his appearance, are the jade ring on his little finger and his hair always carefully combed back with gel.

Ko-Chun(Chow Yun Fat) é desafiado por Tanaka, o maior gambler do Japão. Ao vencer todos os desafios, Tanaka pede a ajuda de Ko-Chun para se vingar de Chan Kam-Sing, um homem de Cinga-Pura que ao trapacear numa aposta, levou o pai de tanaka a se suicidar. Ko Chun aceita ajudar a vence-lo em troca de uma simples caixa de chocolates.

Ko Chun (Chow Yun Fat) is challenged by Tanaka, Japan's Nº1 gambler. Winning all the challenges, Tanaka asks for the help of Ko-Chun to get revenge against Chan Kam-Sing, a man from Singapore who cheating on a bet, let Tanaka´s father to commit suicide . Ko Chun accepts  in exchange for a simple box of chocolates.

 Ko Chun sofre um acidente e bate a cabeça com força. Além de perder a memória, volta a se comportar como criança. Ele é acolhido pelo grupo de tranbiqueiros liderados por "knife", interpretado pelo jovem Andy Lau, hoje renomado ator em Hong Kong.

Ko Chun has an accident and hit his head hard. In addition to losing his memory,he now is back to behaving like a child. He is welcomed by the group led by  "knife", played by a young Andy Lau, today renowned actor in Hong Kong.

Chow Yun Fat recupera a memória em meio a uma cena épica de ação, que foi uma homenagem do diretor Wong Jin e do diretor de ação Paul Wong Kwan aos famosos personagens de Chow Yun Fat em Hong Kong. Um critico na época chegou a escrever; "Dê duas berettas nas mãos desse homem e ele se torna Deus"

Chow Yun Fat reclaims memory in the midst of an epic action scene, which was a tribute from director Wong Jin  and action director Paul Wong Kwan to the famous characters by Chow Yun Fat in Hong Kong. One reviewer even wrote at the time, "Leave two Berettas in the hands of this man and he becomes God"

God Of Gamblers é um clássico incontestável que surgiu na onda de Rain Main com Dustin Hoffman e Tom Cruise. Com cenas de comédia tipicamente chinesas, cenas de ação(tiro) que os criticos consideram melhores do que as atuais, e a interpretação majestosa de Chow Yun Fat, esse filme é imperdivel!

God Of Gamblers is an undisputed classic that has emerged in the wake of Rain Main, with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. With typical Chinese scenes of comedy, action scenes (shot) that critics consider better than today, and the majestic interpretation of Chow Yun Fat, this film is unmissable!
