2 YEARS TEACHING CHINESE LANGUAGE LIKE MACGYVER

 

Esse na foto sou eu abraçando minha saudosa professora de chinês, Sra Lilly Ou Yeen Fen. Meu Mestre Julio Camacho aparece ao lado, sorrindo. Essa foto tem dez anos, foi um dos melhores dias da minha vida. Estava rodeado de pessoas especiais. 

Por alguma razão misteriosa, não só meu Mestre Julio Camacho, como também minha própria professora, sempre me incentivaram a ensinar o chinês. E ainda em 2007, a professora me deu um documento assinado autorizando ensinar em seu nome. Minha primeira tentativa foi numa famosa franquia de cursos de idiomas, mas depois vi que era melhor me dedicar a aulas particulares ou para pequenos grupos. Fiz isso entre 2007 e 2008, depois interrompi e só retornei em 2011, por insistência da professora Lilly que estava com uma pilha dos recém lançados livros 'JING YING'. 

Ela me sugeriu que adquirisse os livros e começasse a ensinar... No fundo, eu não queria faze-lo, mas ela parecia bem entusiasmada... Segui nesse processo por dois anos... Finalmente quando ela faleceu, achei que era o momento de retomar, e em 2021 comecei com novas turmas on line. O grupo foi crescendo através do chamado 'boca a boca' e agora temos aulas para diferentes tipos de pessoas com diferentes objetivos ao longo da semana... Mas... O quão fácil é aprender o idioma chinês?

For some mysterious reason, not only my Master Julio Camacho, but also my own teacher, always encouraged me to teach Chinese. And still in 2007, the teacher gave me a written document authorizing teaching in her name. My first attempt was in a famous franchise of language courses, but later I saw that it was better to dedicate myself to private classes or small groups. I did this between 2007 and 2008, then interrupted and only returned in 2011, at the insistence of teacher Lilly, who had a pile of the recently released 'JING YING' books.

She suggested that I buy the books and start teaching... Deep down, I didn't want to do it, but she seemed very enthusiastic... I followed this process for two years... Finally when she passed away, I thought it was the time to resume, and in 2021 it started with new online classes. The group grew through so-called 'word of mouth' and now we have classes for different types of people with different goals throughout the week... But... How easy is it to learn the Chinese language?

O aprendizado de um novo idioma, como o chinês, pode ser uma experiência desafiadora e recompensadora. Nós episódios de Macgyver, era comum ele usar elementos que estavam dispostos no cenário para poder escapar de uma situação ou conter alguma ameaça, como quando ele usou uma raquete de tenis que estava encostada num canto de uma usina nuclear, para desativar o reator. Quando estamos aprendendo ideogramas, a lógica é a mesma... Você não só pode, quanto deveria escrever os ideogramas com frequencia até decorar os básicos... Porém, quando entendemos a dimensão de ideogramas que existem, isso fica um tanto inviável...Por isso, devemos olhar para o ideograma, e buscar indícios de seu significado através de seu radical... Você pode olhar para o famosíssimo e super utilizado ideograma 好[hǎo], e decorar... Mas como ensinou-me minha Professora Lilly, você pode ver os indícios. Lembre-se que ela me chamou de “Diogo” a vida toda: “...Diogo, esse é o ideograma de mulher[女 ] e esse ser o de filho[子]. Então quando a mãe está perto do filho, está tudo bem...Hǎo... '” -Concluiu ela. Eu nunca mais esqueci. Ela me ajudava a entender a composição das coisas, e não somente a decorar...

In Macgyver episodes, it was common for him to use elements that were arranged in the scenario to be able to escape a situation or contain some threat, as when he used a tennis racket that was leaning against a corner of a nuclear power plant, to deactivate the reactor. You can look at the very famous and overused ideogram 好[hǎo], and memorize it... But as my teacher taught me Lilly, you can see the evidence. Remember that she used to call me “Diogo” all my life: “...Diogo, this is the ideogram of woman[女] and that is the ideograma for child[子]. So when the mother is close to the child, everything is fine...Hǎo...'” -She concluded. I never forgot. She helped me understand the composition of things, and not just memorize...

Em “Macgyver” observamos que ele trabalha na Fundação Fenix, e vive de maneira solitária... Porém, quando existe algum tipo de ameaça , seja da União Soviética ou de algum terrorista, é ele quem chamam. A foto acima, é bem emblemática pois no primeiro quadro eu tinha acabado de completar 20 anos de idade, e na segunda, eu estava prestes a completar 39... Porém, o próprio quadro atrás é um provérbio marcial[Kuen Kuit] que fala de nos dedicarmos com afinco quando ainda somos jovens.

Graças aos incentivos de meu Mestre Julio Camacho e de minha Professora, hoje consigo colher os bons frutos do que aprendi a respeito do idioma chinês e da cultura clássica, com ambos. Para tanto, em vários momentos dei aulas em manhãs de Domingo ou em horários ruins para compartilhar de sua vida com alguém.. Com isso,  um preço para que sempre que necessário, eu consiga achar as ferramentas adequadas para lidar com as situações que me acometem...

Thanks to the incentives of my Master Julio Camacho and my Teacher, today I am able to reap the good fruits of what I learned about the Chinese language and classical culture, with both. For that, on several occasions I taught classes on Sunday mornings or at bad times to share your life with someone. affect...With that, loneliness came as a price so that whenever necessary, I manage to find the right tools to deal with the situations that affect me...

Em vários momentos da série, observávamos Macgyver prestes a ser morto por alguma bomba com contagem regressiva ou preso em algum lugar com gás tóxico... Geralmente nessas cenas, os demais personagens presos com ele, tendiam a se desesperar, mas ele permanece calmo.. Em uma dessas vezes, Macgyver quebrou a lâmpada do local, pegou o arame de dentro da lâmpada e o utilizou para destrancar a fechadura... Com o aprendizado do chinês é a mesma coisa...  Muitas vezes ao se depararem com um idioma tão diferente dos conhecidos no ocidente, o novo aluno tende a se desesperar, mas se você apenas se mantiver calmo e paciente, você poderá enxergar recursos para entender a lógica de um idioma fluído e grandioso como esse.

Foi como quando reclamei com a Professora que não havia tido aulas sobre 'Radicais'. Ela simplesmente escreveu 116 ideogramas com o mesmo radical [ Ou com radicais que se desdobravam] , que eu já havia aprendido e nem tinha me dado conta. Ela escreveu em silencio numa folha qualquer... Meu Mestre sentado a mesma mesa, ficou apenas sorrindo... Ao final ela disse - “..Esse ser radical língua chinesa... Muito bom, agora acabou a aula...” - Eu tinha aprendido sem me dar conta e ainda questionei a professora.

Usually in these scenes, the other characters trapped with him, tended to despair ..But he remain calm... In one of these times , Macgyver broke the glass of the lamp on the roof, he took the wire inside the lamp and used it to unlock the lock... Learning Chinese is the same thing... Many times when the new student come across a language so different from those known in the In the west, new learners tend to despair, but if you just stay calm and patient, you can see resources for understanding the logic of a fluid and spetacular language like this.

It was like when I complained to teacher Lilly that I had not taken classes on 'Radicals'. She simply wrote 116 ideograms with the same radical [Or with radicals that unfolded], which I had already learned and hadn't even realized. She wrote silently on some sheet of paper... My Master, sitting at the same table, was just smiling... At the end she said - "...This radical being in the Chinese language... Very good, now the class is over..." - I had learned without realizing it and I even questioned the teacher.

Todo o final de episódio de 'Macgyver', as coisas se resolvem... Uma música calma toca, Macgyver faz alguma brincadeira com seu amigo Pete Thorton ou algo parecido... A imagem congela naquele bom momento e o episódio acaba... O aprendizado de chinês também é assim... Sempre acaba bem... Basta voce se dedicar, manter algum tipo de vínculo com o idioma ao longo da semana, dedicar a estudar o pinyin, ideograma e a falar ao menos uma hora por semana... E tudo vai acabar bem... 

Afinal, como disse meu Mestre para mim certa vez, parar na metade nos dá uma sensação de alívio, mas chegar até o final traz um sentimento inigualável.

You just need to dedicate yourself, maintain some kind of bond with the language throughout the week, dedicate yourself to studying pinyin, ideograms and speaking at least one hour a week ... And everything will end well...

After all, as my Master once said to me, stopping halfway gives us a sense of relief, but getting to the end brings an unparalleled feeling.
