GM Leo Imamura´s invitation and Kung Fu Life

Desde 2012, devido a um momento em que o número de alunos do Núcleo Méier caiu vertiginosamente para apenas seis pessoas, percebi que ainda estava brincando de ser Diretor de um Núcleo da Moy Yat Ving Tsun. Entendi que muitos praticantes não iriam me dizer o motivo real de estarem se afastando, mas passei a pensar que na maioria das vezes passava pela minha incapacidade como profissional e como transmissor, de entregar um trabalho bem feito e que justificasse o praticante priorizar sua jornada no Ving Tsun independente das adversidades momentâneas. Sendo assim, não só passei a estar mais ainda com meu Si Fu em todos os momentos possíveis, mas também nos seminários e visitas do Si Gung. Pois nesses momentos, todas as Famílias do Rio se reuniam e acontecia muita troca de experiência. Eu passei a entender que nunca seria o prodígio que fantasiei me tornar quando comecei, e por isso deveria estudar muito. Inclusive, para mostrar o que queria com o corpo, e não explicando através de palavras. 

Recentemente, ouvi de Si Gung Leo Imamura o seguinte - “...Um Si Fu inexperiente fantasia em um dia receber um aluno especial, que vai mudar a história da Família...A pergunta que esse Si Fu precisa fazer é: Se esse aluno aparecesse, eu seria um Si Fu a altura dele?”-  Esta fala mexeu muito comigo, e fiquei pensando se estava a altura dos meus alunos. 

Graças a essa dedicação ao estudo, me aproximei do meu Si Suk Felipe Soares, Líder da Família Moy Fei Lap. Ele sempre é muito solícito e gentil, me perguntando se pode ajudar com alguma coisa. Si Gung tem falado muito na importância de nós criarmos uma “rede” dentro do Grande Clã, de forma com que todos possam aprender com todos. 

Então, fui convidado para almoçar com o Si Gung e me organizei para me fazer presente[FOTO]. O almoço mudaria de local, mas como havia chegado mais cedo ao local original para adiantar meu outro trabalho, Si Gung fez questão de voltar para lá com os demais. Algo que me deixou muito honrado. 

Since 2012, due to a moment when the number of students at the MYVT Méier School dropped dramatically to just six people, I realized that I was still playing at being Director of a Moy Yat Ving Tsun School. I realized that many practitioners would not tell me the real reason they were leaving, but I started to think that most of the time it was my inability as a professional and as a tutor, to deliver a job well done, which justified the practitioner to prioritize his journey in the Ving Tsun regardless of momentary adversities. Therefore, I not only started to be with my Si Fu at all times possible, but also in seminars and Si Gung visits to our city. Because in those moments, all the Families of Rio got together and there was a lot of exchange of experience. I came to understand that I would never be the prodigy I fantasized about becoming when I started, so I should study hard. Including, to show what I wanted with my body, and not explaining through words.

Recently, I heard from Si Gung Leo Imamura the following - “...An inexperienced Si Fu fantasizes that one day he will receive a special student, a choosen one who will change the history of the Family... The question that this Si Fu needs to ask is: If this student shows up, would I be a Si Fu at his height?”- This speech moved me a lot, and I wondered if I was up to my students.

Thanks to this dedication to study, I got close to my Si Suk Felipe Soares, Leader of the Moy Fei Lap Family. He is always very helpful and kind, asking me if he can help with anything. Si Gung has talked a lot about the importance of us creating a "network" within the Grand Clan, so that everyone can learn from everyone.

So, I was invited to lunch with Si Gung and I organized myself to present myself [PHOTO]. Lunch would change location, but as I had arrived earlier at the original location to advance my other work, Si Gung insisted on returning there with the others. Something that made me very honoured.

Mais tarde, fomos todos para o Núcleo Freguesia[FOTO], onde Si Gung proveu um estudo da Trilogia Fundamental. Haviam pessoas de várias Família, incluindo alguns dos meus alunos e irmãos-Kung Fu. 

Naquela oportunidade, Si Gung estava visitando a cidade por conta de outros compromissos, e ao oferecer seu tempo ao Si Suk Felipe, este transformou a oportunidade em benefício para todos. Fiquei muito feliz com a participação dos meus alunos, sobre isso, mais tarde Si Gung teria dito - “...Gostei muito da participação dos seus alunos. A prova de que o trabalho do seu Si Fu foi bem feito, é você. E a prova de que seu trabalho vai ser bem feito, são os seus alunos...Mas eu gostei bastante... ”.

Naquela mesmo dia, o Si Gung também falou do trabalho que estava sendo realizado com praticantes de todo o Brasil, para formação de novos tutores do “Programa Ving Tsun Experience”. Meu irmão Kung Fu Roberto Viana resolveu se inscrever, Thiago Silva também, e Si Gung falou que gostaria que eu pudesse também me juntar ao grupo.

At that time, Si Gung was visiting the city for other commitments, and by offering his time to Si Suk Felipe, he turned the opportunity into a benefit for everyone. I was very happy with the participation of my students, and about that, later Si Gung would have said - “...I really liked the participation of your students. The proof that your Si Fu's work was well done is you. And the proof that your work will be well done are your students... But I really liked it... ”.

That same day, Si Gung also talked about the work that was being carried out with practitioners from all over Brazil, to train new tutors for the “Ving Tsun Experience Program”. My Kung Fu brother Roberto Viana decided to sign up, Thiago Silva too, and Si Gung said he would like me to join the group as well.

Si Gung então fez uma reunião On Line com nosso Si Fu para explicar o projeto e depois conosco[FOTO]. Apesar disso, nas primeiras duas semanas foi muito difícil para que eu pudesse acompanhar o raciocínio do grupo. Percebi que mesmo dando o meu melhor, sempre existem outras camadas de um mesmo conhecimento, que não alcançaremos sozinhos. Si Gung percebendo a dificuldade, se ofereceu para fazer uma aula extra conosco que se tornou dois encontros on line numa noite de Sábado e outra de Domingo. 

Todo esse trabalho junto das práticas que tenho feito por mais de um ano com meu Si Hing Leonardo Reis, tem me ajudado muito não só a transformar para melhor a maneira com a qual transmito o Ving Tsun, mas resgataram em mim um desejo renovado pela prática para mim mesmo.

All this work together with the practices that I have been doing for more than a year with my Si Hing Leonardo Reis, has helped me a lot not only to transform for the better the way I transmit Ving Tsun, but also rescued in me a renewed desire for the practice. for myself.

O evento promovido pelo Si Suk Felipe, se desdobrou em um jantar no mesmo bairro, com a presença de outros Mestres e dignitários. Naquele ambiente, muito se falou sobre as inovações em aspectos de transmissão e de possibilidades de abordagem para retenção do aprendizado. E recentemente, ouvi de Si Gung, sobre a habilidade que o Patriarca Ip Man precisou desenvolver de “aprender a aprender” com qualquer pessoa, tendo seu Si Fu falecido quando ele era tão jovem. 

O bacana é entender que existem sempre outras camadas de conhecimento a serem descobertas, e precisamos sempre estar em movimento, em busca destas novas camadas. Nós somos o exemplo.

The cool thing is to understand that there are always other layers of knowledge to be discovered, and we always need to be on the move, in search of these new layers. We are the example.
