THE KUNG FU OF THE “BARRILETE COSMICO“

 Comecei a gostar do “Calcio “ em 1994. Depois da final entre Brasil e Itália na Copa do Mundo daquele ano, a Panini resolveu lançar o álbum oficial CALCIO '94 e os cards da Série A italiana. Tive ambos. Passei a gostar do Milan e também do Napoli. Deste segundo, o tom de azul de seu uniforme me encantou. E não é possível ter contato com o Napoli sem saber da história de Diego Maradona naquele time.

Se Falcao era considerado “O Rei de Roma“, Diego se tornaria maior do que São Gennaro, padroeiro da cidade de Nápoles. 

I started to like “Calcio” in 1994. After the final between Brazil and Italy at the World Cup that year, Panini decided to release the official album CALCIO '94 and the cards of the Italian Serie A. I had both. I started to like Milan and also Napoli. This second team, the blue of its uniform enchanted me. And it is not possible to have contact with Napoli without knowing the story of Diego Maradona in that team.

If Falcao was considered “The King of Rome“, Diego would become bigger than San Gennaro, patron of the city of Naples.

Maradona foi vendido ao Barcelona mas sua passagem por lá apenas lhe rendeu contusões, confusões e aborrecimentos. E foi exatamente o time da região mais pobre da Itália na época,e uma das mais pobres de toda a Europa, que contrataria o jogador mais caro daqueles tempos. 

Parecia destino caber a Maradona, saído da Villa Fiorito da província de Buenos Aires, resgatar a dignidade de um povo chamado de “Cholerosi“[e outros impropérios] , em faixas exibidas em estádios por toda a Itália.. 

Maradona was sold to Barcelona but his passage there only gave him bruises, confusions and annoyances. And it was exactly the team from the poorest region of Italy at the time, and one of the poorest in all of Europe, that would hire the most expensive player of those times.

Quando uma pessoa pensa no termo Kung Fu (功夫) pode ter imagens dos filmes filmes chineses de artes marciais vindo a sua cabeça. Acontece, que este termo é muito mais profundo do que isso. 

Segundo o Grão Mestre brasileiro de Ving Tsun, Sr. Leo Imamura: “ ... Durante as Dinastias Song e Ming, da China, o termo kung fu era amplamente empregado pelos confucianos, taoístas e budistas como a arte de viver a vida em geral e todos eles consideravam seus ensinamentos como diferentes escolas de kung fu...“  - O Grão-Mestre continua: “...Trabalhar o Kung Fu (功夫) é também encontrar modos apropriados de realizar esforços (empregando tempo) ou instruções particulares sobre como realizar esforços, isso é também o sentido no qual nós podemos falar sobre kung fu como uma forma de arte...“

When a person thinks of the term Kung Fu (功夫) he may have images from Chinese martial arts films coming to his head. It turns out, that this term goes much deeper than that.

According to the Brazilian Grand Master of Ving Tsun, Mr. Leo Imamura: “... During the Song and Ming Dynasties of China, the term kung fu was widely used by Confucians, Taoists and Buddhists as the art of living life in general and they all considered their teachings to be different kung fu schools ... "- The Grand Master continues:" ... To work Kung Fu (功夫) is also to find appropriate ways of making efforts (using time) or particular instructions on how to make efforts, this is also the sense in which we can talk about kung fu as an art form ... "

Maradona chegou ao Napoli em 1984, e foi somente na temporada 1986-87 que ele levou o time a realizar o que parecia impossível: Vencer a Série A do Calcio Italiano. A festa em Napoli durou dois meses. E segundo relatos do presidente da maior torcida organizada da época. Penduraram uma faixa na entrada do cemitério da cidade com os dizeres:“... Vocês não sabem o que perderam...“

Mas foi apenas graças a uma tomada de consciência de Diego sobre sua forma de jogar, que isso se tornou possível. Maradona percebeu rapidamente, a diferença do Calcio para outras Ligas em que havia jogado. Disse ele: “... O futebol italiano era mais duro. Eu precisei me adaptar e aprender a jogar com um timing diferente. Se eu aumentasse meu timing para entrar no ritimo do jogo... Se eu fosse para uma extremidade...Abandonando minha técnica para priorizar a velocidade...Eu poderia correr mais rápido, porém seria um inútil. E se eu fosse a toda velocidade usando técnica...Seguramente minha técnica não teria funcionado...Eu precisava encontrar um equilíbrio, e isso não era nem um pouco fácil...“

Maradona arrived at Napoli in 1984, and it was only in the 1986-87 season that he led the team to accomplish what seemed impossible: to win Serie A of the Calcio Italiano. The party in Napoli lasted two months. And according to reports by the president of the Napoli´s Ultras of the time. They hung a banner at the entrance to the city's cemetery with the words: "... You don't know what you missed ..."

But it was only thanks to Diego becoming aware of his way of playing that this became possible. Maradona quickly realized the difference between Calcio and other leagues in which he had played. He said: “... Italian football was rougher. I had to adapt and learn to play with a different timing. If I increased my timing to get into the rhythm of the game ... If I went to an end ... Abandoning my technique to prioritize speed ... I could run faster, but I would be useless. And if I went full speed using technique ... Surely my technique would not have worked ... I needed to find a balance, and that was not easyat all  ... "

Quando Diego Maradona usou seu Kung Fu (功夫) e  encontrou seu equilíbrio na maneira que jogava futebol. O time do Napoli venceu  duas vezes o Campeonato Italiano, uma Copa Italia, e uma Copa da UEFA. E Maradona se tornou Deus naquela cidade... Tudo é Kung Fu (功夫).

When Diego Maradona used his Kung Fu (功夫) and found his balance in the way he played football. Napoli's team has twice won the Italian Championship, an Italian Cup, and a UEFA Cup. And Maradona became God in that city ... Everything is Kung Fu (功夫).
