One of the new disciples of Moy Fat Lei Fam. makes the difference during quarantine.

Na última Cerimônia de Disicpulado da Família Moy Fat Lei, quando ainda nem imaginávamos os desafios que 2020 nos guardava(foto) relacionados a pandemia. Realizava sua Cerimônia de "Baai Si" o meu discípulo José Carlos. Emocionado durante o ato, pude perceber que a Cerimônia havia trazido à ele um processo de "renovação" diante de seu entendimento como membro de uma Família Kung Fu.

In the last Moy Fat Lei Family Discipleship Ceremony, when we still had no idea of the challenges that 2020 would bring (photo) related to the pandemic. My disciple José Carlos did the "Baai Si" Ceremony. Thrilled during the act, I could see that the Ceremony had brought him a process of "renewal" in the face of his understanding as a member of a Kung Fu Family. 

José Carlos, que tem como uma de suas frases mais emblemáticas a famosa: "Que alegria, Si Fu!" - quando recebe uma boa notícia do círculo marcial. Estava afastado da Família Kung Fu após ter se mudado para um distrito de uma outra cidade. Apoiado na ideia de meu Si Fu de "Encontros Temáticos Remotos", começamos no início do segundo semestre de 2019, a nos encontrarmos semanalmente por Skype(FOTO). Meu To Dai Ghabriel Beliago, que estava com um dos joelhos lesionado, também foi beneficiado por este movimento. E ao final, Beliago pôde se manter sintonizado e acessar uma outra dimensão do Kung Fu e José Carlos em pouco tempo se fez presente no Mo Gun. 

José Carlos, who has as one of his most emblematic phrases the famous: "What a joy, Si Fu!" - when he receives good news from the martial circle. He was away from the Kung Fu Family after moving to a district in another city. Supported by the idea of my Si Fu of "Remote Thematic Meetings", we started at the beginning of the second half of 2019, meeting weekly via Skype (PHOTO). My To Dai Ghabriel Beliago, who had an injured knee, also benefited from this movement. And in the end, Beliago was able to stay tuned and access another dimension of Kung Fu and José Carlos was soon present at Mo Gun again.

Como trabalha no Centro do Rio, quando estou pela região costumamos nos encontrar para tomarmos café juntos. E após um desses encontros, recebo uma ligação sua, oferecendo seus saberes da sua área profissional, para a Família Kung Fu: "...Gostaria de ajudar Si Fu, mas não sei bem como..."

A iniciativa de José Carlos, deu início ao chamado "Grupo de Marketing" que inspirou meus outros discípulos: Rodrigo Caputo, Vitor Sá e Matheus Alves a se juntarem ao projeto. Passamos então a ter encontros semanais sobre o tema, e outros tópicos foram se apresentando naturalmente. Foi então que nos foi possível antecipar em uma semana ao anúncio da quarentena. Quando a mesma começou, já estávamos na segunda semana de atividades remotas, inclusive com a produção de posteres que inspiraram outras Famílias.

José Carlos' initiative started the so-called "Marketing Group" that inspired my other disciples: Rodrigo Caputo, Vitor Sá and Matheus Alves to join the project. We then started to have weekly meetings on the topic, and other topics were introduced naturally. It was then that we were able to anticipate the quarantine announcement by one week. When it started, we were already in the second week of remote activities, including the production of posters that inspired other Families.

Na segunda semana de quarentena, nossa sexta atividade, foi uma introdução ao Nível 4 do Programa Ving Tsun Experience(FOTO) que tem por modalidade o "Jong Faat". Inspirado pelo "ETR", José resolveu comprar um "Muk Yan Jong" para sua casa. Ao me perguntar algumas coisas, percebi que era uma ótima oportunidade para tratarmos do tema em Família...

In the second week of quarantine, our sixth activity, was an introduction to Level 4 of the Ving Tsun Experience Program (PHOTO), which uses "Jong Faat". Inspired by "RTM", José decided to buy a "Muk Yan Jong" for his home. When he asked me  a few questions, I realized that it was a great opportunity for us to discuss the topic in Family ...

Foi então que surgiu o "Muk Yan Jong Club"(FOTO). Um Encontro semanal que contava com a presença dos discípulos: Vitor Sá, Keith Markus, Luiz Grativol e José Carlos. Nele, tratávamos da anatomia do boneco e dos seus pormenores, até que pudéssemos personalizar um boneco da nossa Família.

Com isso José Carlos levou cerca de três meses para encomendar seu "Muk Yan Jong" com o melhor marceneiro que conseguimos achar. Porém, toda a Família se beneficiou. Respeitando o isolamento social, apenas José Carlos foi até o Mo Gun para com as orientações de seu Si Hing Keith, fazer as medições necessárias para que desenvolvêssemos o projeto a partir do "Jong" que temos em nosso Mo Gun. 

With that, José Carlos took about three months to order his "Muk Yan Jong" with the best woodworker we could find. However, the whole Family benefited. Respecting social isolation, only José Carlos went to Mo Gun with the guidance of his Si Hing Keith, making the necessary measurements so that we could develop the project from the "Jong" we have in our Mo Gun.

Com o final da quarentena e a reabertura do comércio, era hora de nos encontrarmos, mas José Carlos vinha sofrendo com problemas em sua coluna que necessitarão de uma pequena cirurgia. Apesar disso, ele não deixou de encontrar a mim e ao seu Si Hing Vitor(foto) para termos nossa primeira reunião que inicia a "Fase 2" da Família Moy Fat Lei em 2020. 

Ver José Carlos vindo de outra cidade apoiando-se com dificuldade em uma bengala em nossa direção, foi um momento bem especial. Pois apenas um ano atrás, mesmo sem essa limitação, ele acreditava que só poderíamos nos encontrar remotamente. E foi a partir de sua Cerimônia de "Baai Si" que de fato houve uma tomada de consciência. Eu ainda pude lembrar, observando cada um de seus passos, das palavras de meu Si Fu em seu livro "Tao do Surf": "...Se você acha que pode ou que não pode. Em ambos os casos você está com a razão..." 

With the end of the quarantine and the reopening of commerce, it was time to meet in person again, but José Carlos was suffering from problems in his spine that will require a minor surgery. Despite this, he did not fail to meet me and his Si Hing Vitor (photo) to have our first meeting that begins the "Phase 2" of the Moy Fat Lei Family in 2020.

Seeing José Carlos coming from another city with difficulty using a walking stick towards us was a very special moment. For just a year ago, even without this limitation, he believed that we could only meet remotely. And it was from his "Baai Si" Ceremony that there was a real awareness. I could still remember, observing each of his steps, the words of my Si Fu in his book "Tao of Surf": "... If you think you can or cannot. In both cases you are right ... "
