HOW TO DRESS IN KUNG FU (Como se vestir no Kung Fu)

Si Fu por vezes conversa comigo a respeito de grandes empresários que durante seus momentos de crise, continuaram investindo e vivendo no mesmo círculo social. Não  por status, mas porque a mente dessas pessoas, não consegue não pensar alto.
Ele conversa isso comigo, porque muitas vezes , ainda me pego pensando pequeno: "Só conseguimos controlar o que é pequeno Thiago" - Disse-me ele este ano.- "A meta do Spoleto era ser o maior fastfood de comida italiana do mundo, eles já conseguiram. Mas você acha que seria possível, se o dono ficasse sentado na frente da loja observando cada movimento?" - Indagou ele enquanto estavamos sentados diante de uma das filiais dessa franquia.
Certa vez, apareci com um relógio branco no Mo Gun. Si Fu o reparou e elogiou. Empolgado, perguntei a ele quanto ele imaginava que tinha custado. Ao falar o preço, ele me perguntou se era falso, e ao responder que sim, ele disse: "Tira agora Thiago".
Retirei o relógio enquanto caminhávamos para o restaurante, Si Fu me perguntou se eu sabia porque tinha pedido isso e explicou: "Si Taai Gung Moy Yat falou uma vez, que se você usar um Rolex falso, e um de seus alunos conhecer um Rolex original, ele pode pensar: Se esse cara usa um Rolex falso, será que o Kung Fu dele também é?"

Si Fu sometimes talk to me about big business man that during periods of crisis, continued investing and living in the same social circle. Not for status, but because the mind of these people, they can not not think big.

I once came up with a white watch to Mo Gun. Si Fu noticed and praised. Excited, I asked him how he imagined it had cost. When talking the price he asked me if it was fake, and the answer  was "yes", he said, "Take off now Thiago."
I removed the watch as we walked to the restaurant, Si Fu asked me if I knew why had requested it and explained: "Si Taai Gung Moy Yat once said that if you use a fake Rolex, and one of your students know an original Rolex he may think: If this guy uses a fake Rolex, will be the Kung Fu from him also fake "?

Anos mais tarde, quando estivemos no Estado de Minas Gerais (foto) para o aniversário de 50 anos de Si Gung. Estava andando por esse pátio que vemos na foto, e Si Suk Ursula que vinha atrás elogiou meu tênis. Era um NIKE prata com verde florescente (É.. Eu gosto de neon e coisas florescentes!). Ela então perguntou rindo: "É verdadeiro ou falso?" . Si Fu também sorrindo naquela descontraída conversa disse antes que eu pudesse responder: "O Thiago não usa mais nada falso não sabia?".
Realmente eu tinha comprado aquele tênis com certo sacrifício. Não sei em outros países, mas um ASCIS pode chegar a custar US$ 300,00 no Brasil por exemplo, e isso dificulta as coisas. Mas sempre lembrava de Si Fu dizendo no episódio do relógio: "Thiago, vale mais a pena ser honesto. Se você não pode comprar, não compra falso. Compra o que dá."
Acredito então, que a primeira coisa que uma pessoa do Kung Fu deve saber, é que precisa evitar falsificações. Alguém pode achar que por coerência, seu Kung Fu também é falso.

Years later, when we were in the state of Minas Gerais (photo) for the 50th anniversary of Si Gung. I was walking through this courtyard we see in the picture above, and Si Suk Ursula who was behind praised my sneaker. It was a silver NIKE with flourishing green (Yeah .. I like neon and florescent things!). She then asked laughing: "Is it original or fake?" . Si Fu also smiling at that relaxed conversation said before I could answer: "Thiago uses nothing more fake did not know?".
Actually I had bought that sneaker with some sacrifice. I do not know in other countries but an Ascis for example can cost up to US$ 300.00 in Brazil for example, and this complicates things. But always remember Si Fu said in the episode of the watch: "Thiago, its worthwhile to be honest if you can not buy, do not buy fake buy only things what you can buy..."
I believe then that the first thing a person should know in Kung Fu, is that you have  to avoid fakes. Someone may find your Kung Fu is also fake.

Essa é a foto da primeira vez que usei um terno em toda a minha vida. Foi durante uma Cerimônia Tradicional, na qual meu amigo de escola, GIl Batista(no canto esquerdo da foto) , iria entrar na Família. O terno era do meu avô, ele o usou no casamento da minha mãe!
Sobre paletós, eu não tinha a menor experiência, de fato, não havia cenário em minha vida onde pudesse usar um. Mas naquela manhã, aprendi com alguém que não me lembro. Que paletós de um botão, podem estar ou não abotoados quando sentamos. Paletós com dois botões o de baixo nunca deve ser abotoado. E no de três, o do meio deve estar sempre, mas o de baixo também não.

That's the picture from the first time I used a suit in my life. It was during a traditional ceremony in which my school friend, Gil Batista (in the left corner of the photo), would enter the family. The suit was from my grandfather, he used at the marriage of my mother!
About coats, I had no experience, in fact, there was no scenario in my life where I could use one. But that morning I learned from someone who I do not remember. That suits of a button, may or may not be buttoned when we sit. Jackets with two buttons, the below one  should never be buttoned. And three coat, the middle button should always be, but the low either.

Quando usei um colete durante minha Cerimônia de Titulação(foto), o botão do colete, o último de baixo, deve ficar aberto. Isso pode parecer qualquer coisa, mas Si Fu sempre nos alerta sobre que tipo de informação estamos querendo passar. Não só quando falamos, mas quando nos vestimos também.
Durante este evento, estava no Shopping com Si Fu e meu Si Hing Leonardo, e Si Fu pediu que procurasse para ele uma gravata preta de um determinado número. Eu não entendi porque ele queria exatamente com uma numeração mais fina e preta e ele respondeu: "Amanhã , será o seu dia e o do Léo. É muito importante, que quando eu estiver lá na frente, seja o mais discreto possível, para que todas as atenções estejam voltadas para vocês."
Observem que Si Gung e Si Fu , usam ternos bem sóbrios nesta foto. Por isso, em determinadas ocasiões, principalmente quando formos convidados de outra Família Kung Fu, ou um orientador ou Gaai Siu Yan. Devemos prestar atenção se nossa roupa está acima daquele ou daqueles que são o foco da ocasião.

A foto acima, ainda é daquele primeiro dia que usei um terno. Eu tirei minha gravata assim que pude, mas depois não conseguia colocar de volta. Si Suk Ursula e Si Suk Teo Ramos me ajudam a amarrar a gravata. Apenas, anos mais tarde, Si Suk Diego teria me ensinado a dar um nó.
As mangas da minha camisa são curtas , mas estas, não funcionam para complementos mais pesados como paletó e gravata. Por isso, na ocasião estava equivocado ao usá-las.
Isso também serve para o cuidado com as meias...

The photo above is still from that first day I wore a suit. I took my tie so I could tie it back. Si Suk Ursula and Si Suk Teo Ramos help me tie my tie. Only years later, Si Suk Diego would have taught me to tie a knot.
The sleeves of my shirt are short, but these do not work for heavier accessories such as jacket and tie. So  at the time I was wrong to use them.
This also serves to care for the socks ...

No início dos anos 2000, como vemos nessa foto acima de Si Fu. Usávamos um uniforme completo na Moy Yat Ving Tsun que compreendia sapatilhas. Todo o uniforme era preto. Si Gung certa vez antes de iniciar uma atividade prática numa manhã de Sábado em Jacarepaguá, perguntou ao grupo que sentava-se diante algo como: "Vocês sabem para onde devemos olhar quando nos interessamos por alguém?" - Todos acharam a pergunta engraçada e as respostas foram mais ainda. Si Gung teria dito: "Nada disso! Vocês devem olhar para os pés!" - Ficamos rindo sem entender e ele falou: "Os pés são a parte mais longe de nossas mãos. Cuidar do rosto ou da cabeça é fácil, as mãos estão próximas, mas cuidar dos pés , precisa tomar tempo para se sentar". - Todos riram concordando e ele prosseguiu: "Por isso, se encontrarem alguém com os pés cuidados, com certeza essa pessoa tem cuidado com todo o resto."
Si Gung então pediu para que todos levantassem a barra de suas calças para observar, quantos de nós tinham tomado o cuidado de escolher o par de meias na mesma cor do calçado: "É importante que a meia esteja de acordo com a cor do calçado" - Disse ele.

In the early 2000s, as we see in this picture above Si Fu. We wore a full uniform in the Moy Yat Ving Tsun which included shoes. All the uniform was black. Si Gung once before starting a practical activity on a Saturday morning at Jacarepagua, asked the group who sat on something like, "Do you know where we should look when we like  someone?" - Everyone thought the funny question and answers were more funnier. Si Gung would have said: "You should look at the person´s feet!" - We were laughing without understanding, and he said: "The feet are the furthest from our hands take care of our head is easy, hands are close, but foot care, need to take time to sit down.". - They all laughed in agreement and he went on: "So if you find someone with  feet care, for sure this person has care of the rest."
Si Gung then asked everyone to raise their  trousers' to observe how many of us had taken care to choose the pair of socks in the same color of the shoes: "It is important that the socks is in accordance with the color of the shoes" - He said.

Em Janeiro deste ano, durante este almoço com Si Fu e irmãos Kung Fu. Comentei com Si Fu que estava achando ele meio "Julio Iglesias" por não estar usando meias. Si Fu nos levou a pensar sobre o uso de meias e seu significado.
Além de proteger os pés, tem a ideia do suor do pé. Mas, segundo ele, alguém que não usa meias, está também indicando que não precisa ou não precisará andar muito, o que permite com que seus pés não transpirem.
Si Fu aproveitou para falar sobre diferentes tipos de barras de calça e de como combinar o sapato com a calça.  Esse tema me interessou muito, porque pude fazer um paralelo sobre quando se usa um "Tong Jong" (roupa tradicional chinesa) e apenas dobra-se as mangas deixando a parte branca aparecer, quando se é um Si Fu , alguém numa classe mais alta que não precisa fazer esforço ou simplesmente alguém que não "sujará" as mãos naquele dia.

In January this year, during this lunch with Si Fu and Kung Fu brothers. Commented to Si Fu was finding he like "Julio Iglesias" for not wearing socks. Si Fu led us to think about the use of socks and its meaning.

This theme interested me a lot, because I could make a parallel on when we are using a "Tong Jong" (traditional Chinese clothes) and just fold up the sleeves leaving the whites appear when you are a Si Fu, someone in a higher class who  do not need to make effort, or simply someone who does not "will mess" hands that day.

Voltando ao início deste artigo, principalmente em um país com dificuldades econômicas e baixa instrução da população como o Brasil. Tendemos a olhar apenas para o imediato: Se é mais barato, se é mais vantajoso, etc... Nestas horas, deixamos o "simbólico" de lado, e assim, começamos a ficar cada vez mais distantes de sair de um estado de pobreza, não material, mas de espírito.
Saber se adequar ao ambiente em que se está , não deveria ser visto como frescura, mas como arte. Da mesma forma, que impor um estilo onde quer que se vá, não deveria ser visto como autoconfiança , mas sim, limitação.

Going back to the beginning of this article, especially in a country with economic difficulties and low education of the population like Brazil. We tend to look at the immediate  things only: If it is cheaper, if it is more advantageous, etc ... In these hours, we leave the "symbolic" aside, and so we began to get more and more distant leaving a state of poverty , not material, but of mind.
Knowing suit for the environment in which you are, it should not be seen as frills, but as an art. Similarly, to impose a style wherever you go, it should not be seen as self-confidence, but, limitation ..
