Combat Studies in Rio de Janeiro (Estudos de Combate no Rio de Janeiro.)

Em 1991 lá estava eu entrando entre as prateleiras de filmes obscuros da década de 90 na locadora chamada “Eletronica Mendes Gomes” para alugar uma fita para meu Dynavision.
Na Tv de 14 polegadas que ficava no balcão estava passando o filme “Leão Branco – Lutador sem Lei” de Jean-Claude Van Damme, o patrono deste Blog.
Este filme tem algumas cenas e situações bem bizarras, como quando precisando de dinheiro após escapar dos legionários e de um navio, Leon(Van Damme) resolve participar de lutas de apostas em alguns buracos de Nova York.
Veja, o bookmaker boa-praça que acaba por se tornar um dos personagens principais do filme, não consegue pronunciar “Leon”, e na dificuldade de dizer o nome, ele fala “Lion”. E daí, vem o famigerado título em português para o filme “Leão Branco”: Van Damme é caucasiano e é chamado de “Lion” o filme todo. Em inglês temos o original “Lion Heart”...

In 1991 there I was going between shelves of obscure movies of the early 90s at the Video Store to rent a game for my Dynavision.
On a TV of 14'' was on the  the film "Lion Heart" starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, the patron of this Blog.
This film has some scenes and well bizarre situations, such as when strapped for cash after escaping Legionnaires and a ship, Leon (Van Damme) resolves participate in betting struggles in some of New York holes.
See, the goodguy bookmaker who ends up becoming one of the main characters in the film, can not pronounce "Leon", and  he says "Lion". So, the infamous title comes in Portuguese for the film "White Lion": Van Damme is Caucasian and is called "Lion" the whole movie. In English we have the original "Lion Heart" ...

Na noite da última Terça,  encontrei com Si fu no Núcleo Barra. Lá, Niklas Correa e Thales Guimarães, dois irmãos Kung Fu, se juntaram a nós para irmos em direção ao Méier onde ocorreria o primeiro de doze encontros de combate .
Antes de sairmos porém, tivemos o prazer de ver em primeira mão algumas cenas prontas do seriado que Si Fu escreveu e está produzindo juntamente com alguns envolvidos chamada “DDD21”(foto). A série se passa na Barra da Tijuca e foca no personagem Duda.
No caminho para o Méier, tive a oportunidade de conversar com Si Fu um pouco sobre o que ele pretendia com aquela atividade.

Si Fu falou que estava bem tranquilo posturas como a de Thales e Niklas que simplesmente estavam ali: Se seria um estudo de combate, um passeio de carro ou qualquer outras coisa, Si Fu disse que sentia que para os dois o importante era estar junto dele.

On the night of Tuesday, I met Si Fu  in Barra neighborhood . There, Niklas Correa and Thales Guimarães, two brothers Kung Fu, joined us to go to the MYVT Meier School where would  occur the first twelve combat encounters.
Before we left though, we were pleased to see firsthand some ready scenes of the TV Series that Si Fu wrote and is producing along with some involved called "DDD21" (photo). The series takes place in Barra da Tijuca and focuses on Duda character.
On the way to Meier, I had the opportunity to talk to Si Fu a little about what he meant with that activity.

Si Fu said he was very calm  such as Thales and Niklas who were simply there: If it would be a combat study or just a ride or any other thing, Si Fu said he felt for both the most important thing was to be near him .

No Ving Tsun, coisas engraçadas costumam acontecer sem mais nem menos. Pois bem: Exatamente no dia do Primeiro Encontro de Combate no Mo Gun do Méier, a área comum do prédio que usamos comumente para práticas com números maiores de pessoas estava sendo usada (Nunca em 5 anos isso aconteceu! rs)
Mas tudo bem! Si Fu reorganizou sua lógica, e numa envoltos por uma roda de praticantes , uma dupla por vez fazia o trabalho proposto.
Eu estava ali como o Diretor de Núcleo, mas confesso que dei vazão a minha fantasia ao ver tal cena, pois apenas uma coisa me vinha a cabeça:

In Ving Tsun Family, funny things usually happen just like that. Well: Exactly on the this First Meeting Meier Mo Gun, the common area of the building that we  use commonly for practical with larger numbers of people were being used (Never in five years this happened lol!)
But thats alright! Si Fu reorganized his logic, and a surrounded by a circle of practitioners, a double at a time was there to do the proposed work.
I was there as the Director of the School, but I confess I gave vent to my fantasy to see such a scene, because only one thing came into my head:

Si Fu levantou-se e resolveu ele mesmo fazer as demonstrações do que propunha. Isso espantou os mais novos. Porque já faz um tempo, que Si Fu deixa espaços vazios para serem ocupados por seus Discípulos. Numa grande demonstração de humildade , a fim não só de prover Vida Kung Fu, mas para passar o "Bastão adiante".
Acho que dessa experiência, a coisa mais divertida que ouvi, foi quando um Si Dai no dia seguinte comentou: "Poxa Si Hing! O Si Fu sabe lutar mesmo rapaz!"
O detalhe é que essa pessoa está a 7 anos na Família, e se ainda sim ele diz isso, de certa forma e um bom sinal: Si Fu nao precisou fazer nada, para que ele visse o valor do Ving Tsun transmitido.

Si Fu got up and decided himself todo the demonstrations of proposed practices. This startled the younger ones. Because it's been a while, that Si Fu leaves empty spaces to be occupied by his disciples. In a great show of humility in order not only to provide Kung Fu Life, but to give opportunity to the new generation.
I think thatthe most fun thing I heard was when a Si Dai the next day commented: "Wow Si Hing! Si Fu really knows how to fight !"
The detail is that this person has seven years in the Family, and yet he says that. In a way is a good sign: Si Fu had to do nothing for him to see the value of Ving Tsun transmitted in our family.

Dentre os presentes, lá estava com sua bermuda amarela, agarrado a uma garrafa térmica, Dani Eustáquio(foto). Irmão de Lucas Eustáquio (membro mais antigo do Méier), foi convidado por mim não para participar ativamente, mas para estar com seus irmãos Kung Fu e participar de outras formas, a fim de entender as diferentes faces do Mo Lam.

Among those present, there was a yellow shorts, clutching a thermal bottle: Dani Eustaquio (photo). He is brother of Lucas Eustaquio (oldest member of Meier School). he was invited by me not to actively participate, but to be with his brothers Kung Fu and participate in other ways in order to understand the different faces of Mo Lam.

Por fim,  alguns dos presentes deixaram suas impressões sobre aquele primeiro dia. Muito animados, ao invés de ressaltar apenas o lado técnico, eles conseguiram ver a Vida Kung Fu como fundo de imanência para aquele encontro. E tenho certeza de que cada um levou uma coisa diferente daquela noite. Inclusive eu...

Finally, some of those present left their impressions on that first day. Very excited, instead of talking about only the technical side, they managed to see Kung Fu Life as immanence fund for that meeting. And I'm sure that everyone took something different that night. Including me ...

Para mim ficou a capacidade mágica de Si Fu em transformar momentos aparentemente adversos num cenário rico para a aprendizagem. Além de mais uma vez, tomar consciência de que criar demanda por algo, é muito mais fácil do que prover esse algo.
Quando eu era o rapazinho das fotos e me animava com essas práticas, não conseguia dimensionar a complexidade de passar uma experiência significativa a tantas pessoas simultaneamente.

For me I get another glance of the magical ability of Si Fu in turn apparently adverse moments in a rich setting for learning. In addition to once again realize that create demand for something, it's much easier to provide that something.
When I was the boy from photos above , I could not convey the complexity of passing a meaningful experience to many people simultaneously.

Sim! Si Fu sabe lutar! Mas que tipo de lutas, é outra história ....

Yes! Si Fu knows how to fight! But what kind of fight, well... Thats another story....
