TRADITIONAL CEREMONY OF MOY LIN MAH FAMILY (CERIMÔNIA TRADICIONAL DA FAMILIA MOY LIN MAH)

Sou Rodolpho Alcantara To Dai da Si Fu Ursula Lima lider da Fámília Moy Lin Mah.
Estou pela segunda vez escrevendo no Blog Do Pereira para, dessa vez,  dividir um pouco como foi
o processo da XI Cerimônia Tradicional da Família Moy Lin Mah.

Im Rodolpho Alcantara ,To Dai of Si Fu Ursula Lima,  she is the leader of Moy Lin Mah Family.
I'm writing for the second time for the Peartree´s Blog . This time to share a little how was
the process of the XI  Traditional Ceremony Moy Lin Mah Family.

Na ocasião tivemos duas cerimônias de acesso, uma para o acesso ao Domínio Cham Kiu e a outra
para o Domínio Biu Ji.
Neste dia, passavam a ter o acesso formal ao Cham Kiu, o Frederico Moreira (Fred), Leonardo Fatorelli e Samanta Sobral (Sam).
Assim como acessavam o Biu Ji, meu Si Hing, Luciano Martins, André Villarreal e eu.

At the time we had two ceremonies of access, one for access the Domain Cham Kiu and the other
for Domain Biu Ji.
On this day, some people become able to have formal access to the Cham Kiu, Frederico Moreira (Fred), Leonardo Fatorelli and Samanta Sobral (Sam).
As accessed the Biu Ji, my Si Hing, Luciano Martins, André Villarreal and me.

Como é de costume tudo começa antes do que as pessoas enxergam. Tivemos que nos organizar
para escolher o local, o que seria servido e todos os detalhes para que a Cerimônia ocorresse com
tranquilidade.
O que me fascina é que a cada Cerimônia a família parece estar mais unida. Nós, os acessantes ao
nível posterior somos diretamente responsáveis por este acontecimento, porém é extremamente
gratificante ver o auxílio que nossos outros irmãos e irmãs kung fu nos prestam quando precisamos.

As usual it starts earlier than people see. We had to organize ourselves
to choose the location, which would be served and every detail so that the ceremony took place with
tranquility.
What fascinates me is that every family ceremony we seems to be more united. We, the promoted ones  are directly responsible for this event, but it is extremely
gratifying to see the support that our other Kung Fu brothers and sisters  lend us when we need.

Ainda no tocante ao auxílio, gostaria de ressaltar a importância do meu irmão kung fu, Bruno Linhares, por ter se colocado como Mestre de Cerimônia. Pela primeira vez a nossa Família teve um
Mestre de Cerimônia conduzindo e pontuando cada momento. Isso demonstra o crescimento da nossa Família. Brunão, teve um cuidado minucioso com o que seria dito na Cerimônia, não só apresentar cada etapa mas bem como explicá-las para o público presente. Anteriormente tivemos a oportunidade de conversar sobre o que seria interessante ou não expor para o público, para que todos se situassem em cada momento. Brunão teve uma excelente atuação e isto tudo não seria possível sem a Fernanda, sua mulher, que estava lá conosco cuidando do pequeno Gabriel, seu filho.

Also with regard of suport, I would like to stress the importance of my kung fu brother, Bruno Linhares, for having placed as Master of Ceremony. For the first time our family had a
Master of Ceremonies leading and scoring each time. This demonstrates the growth of our family. "Big Bruno", had a thorough careful with what would be said in the ceremony not only to present every moment but also to explain them to the audience. Previously we had the opportunity to talk about what would be interesting or not exposed to the public, so that everyone would be at every moment. Big Bruno had an excellent performance and all this would not be possible without the Fernanda, his wife, who was there with us taking care of little Gabriel, his son.

Me encontrava extremamente nervoso com o que falaria quando fosse requisitado a comentar sobre
meu processo no Domínio anterior e foi quando meu querido Si Hing e dono desta casa (o Blog do
Pereira), me perguntou sobre meu processo no Cham Kiu. Si Hing Thiago Pereira é meu orientador no Cham Kiu, e digo que 'é' e não 'foi' porque o Domínio anterior nunca deixará de estar presente, tampouco deixarei de praticar nele com outros irmãos Kung Fu.
Expliquei para o Si Hing como ele fez diferença no meu processo. Nós não chegamos a praticar
muito. Na verdade, se me lembro bem, praticamos um pouco de Chi Sau somente uma vez. Meu intuito quando o convidei para ser meu orientador foi para que tivessemos mais proximidade, e foi justamente o que aconteceu. Se Cham Kiu dentre várias coisas diz respeito a 'procurar ponte', meu orientador me mostrou a arte em se fazer presente. Cada vez que nos falávamos, fosse por algo que era necessário para algum evento ou coisa do gênero, minha atenção voltava não só para o que estava sendo dito mas em como me conectar para compreende-lo melhor. Com o tempo, me peguei sorrindo quando passava um capítulo de Smallville na MTV, simplesmente porque o Si Hing Thiago gostava. Lia cada post deste Blog como se o Si Hing estivesse conversando comigo diretamente. Aprendi e aprendo muito com o Si Hing, direta e indiretamente.
Si Fu sempre me fala 'você não vai estar em 2, 3 lugares ao mesmo tempo. A arte está em como
você vai se fazer presente, mesmo não estando ali fisicamente'. Confesso, é um longo caminho para que eu consiga colocar isso em prática. Si Hing Thiago, me mostrou que isso é possível.

I found myself extremely nervous about what speak when I was asked to comment on
my process in the previous Domain and that was when my dear Si Hing and owner of this Blog (the Peartree´s Blog), asked me about my process in Cham Kiu. Si Hing Thiago Pereira is my fugleman in Cham Kiu, and I say 'is' and not 'was' because the previous domain will never cease to be present, either fail to practice it with other Kung Fu brothers..
I explained to  Si Hing how he made a difference in my process. We did not get to practice
too many times. In fact, if I remember correctly, we practice a little Chi Sau only once. My intention when I invited him to be my 'advisor' was that we might have more closely contact, and it was precisely what happened. If Cham Kiu of several things with respect to 'seek bridge', my advisor showed me the art to be present. Each time we talked, it was for something that was necessary for any event or something else, my attention turned not only to what was being said but how to connect me to understand it better. Over time, I found myself smiling while watch a Smallville chapter on MTV, simply because the Si Hing Thiago liked it. I read every post from this blog as if the Si Hing was talking to me directly. I learned and learn a lot from the Si Hing, directly and indirectly.
Si Fu always tells me 'you will not be in 2, 3 places at once". The art is in how
you will do this, even not being there physically. I confess, it is a long way so I can put this into practice. Si Hing Thiago showed me that this is possible.

Ambas as cerimônias foram extremamente emocionantes, até que o André Villarreal comenta que certa vez ouviu de alguém que ele não recordava no momento, mas que teria sido de algum mestre ali presente, que seria um pré-requisito para estar na Família Kung Fu se emocionar em cerimônias. Logo após conversar com Si Hing Thiago Pereira finalmente compreendi o que eu gostaria de dividir sobre minha experiência no Cham Kiu, e inevitavelmente me emocionei bastante.
Inicialmente, fiz questão de mencionar um momento em especial que tive com cada Testemunha
Honorável que estava ali. Comecei falando do meu Si Baak Julio Camacho, que na minha Cerimônia de acesso ao Cham Kiu, deixou claro que estava presente ali porque eu pedi para ele diretamente, e quem diria... na época eu estava acessando o Cham Kiu e foi a primeira ‘ponte’ que me dei conta que construí.
Disse ao Si Baak Julio então que eu não saberia como retribuir isso, embora fique pensando em
como fazê-lo. Não encontrei a resposta, e espero nunca encontrar, porque assim que retribuir esse dia, terei outro dia para retribuir. Como o em que 'jogamos' uma partida de xadrez em São Paulo. Jogamos entre aspas, perdi em 3 ou 4 movimentos. Sempre terei momentos dos quais gostaria de retribuir.
Falei sobre o Si Baak Ricardo Queiroz, que quando o conheci, também em uma Cerimônia da
Família Moy Lin Mah, me marcou muito o seu cuidado e carinho em saber o nome de cada participante deste dia. Si Baak Ricardo certa vez, na Cerimônia de Tutorização da Família Moy Ke lo Si, em meio a palavras para seus To Dai e Dai Ji, fez questão de agradecer a ajuda que eu tinha dado para sua Família Kung Fu. O curioso é que eu não lembrava de ter ajudado em nada, aquilo me marcou, e novamente gostaria de retribuir as palavras e ajudar a família Moy Ke Lo Si como Si Baak Ricardo disse que ajudei.
Também ainda não descobri como fazer, também espero nunca descobrir, mas continuar tentando.
Finalmente, falei sobre Si Sok Felipe Soares, que fez um belíssimo trabalho com a Família Moy Lin
Mah sobre Tutorização do Domínio Siu Nim Tau. Na ocasião, estávamos em Copacabana e Si Sok Felipe nos contou que faria um workshop na Freguesia, ele fala então que se quisessemos ir seriamos bem vindos, mas para ficarmos espertos para poder ajudar e adiciona 'Sei que é longe...' Pensei comigo, é longe para mim tanto quanto foi longe para você estar aqui...Hoje sou muito grato em não saber dizer 'não' para qualquer pedido do Si Sok Felipe, mesmo que este não seja direcionado a mim, pretendo me colocar disponível.

Both ceremonies were extremely emotional, until Andre Villarreal said he once heard from someone he did not remember at the moment, but that would have been from some present master there, that would be a prerequisite for being in the Family Kung Fu be emotional in ceremonies. Soon after talking with Si Hing Thiago Pereira finally I realized what I'd like to share about my experience at Cham Kiu, and inevitably thrilled me a lot.
Initially, I made a point to mention one particular moment I had with each Master present there.
 I started talking about my Si Baak Julio Camacho, which in my Ceremony to access Cham Kiu, made it clear who was present there because I asked him directly, and who would say ... at the time I was accessing the Cham Kiu and was the first 'bridge' that I realized that I built.
 I said to Si Baak Julio that I would not know how to repay it, though I was considering
how to do it. I found the answer, and I hope I never find because so return that day, I will have to return another day. As we 'play' a game of chess in Sao Paulo. We played in quotes, lost in 3 or 4 movements. I will always have moments that I would return.
I said to Si Baak Ricardo Queiroz, that when I met him, also in a Ceremony
of Family Moy Lin Mah marked me much his care and affection to know the name of every member of that day. Si Baak Ricardo once tutoring the ceremony of his Family  he said to his To Dai and Dai Ji, was keen to acknowledge the help I had given for his Kung Fu Family. Interestingly, I do not remember having helped at all, it struck me, and again I would return the words and help Moy Ke Lo Si ,Si Baak's family as Ricardo said helped.
Also I have not figured out how to do also I hope I never find out, but keep trying.
Finally, I spoke about Si Sok Felipe Soares, who did a great job with the Moy Lin Mah Family
 on tutoring Domain Siu Nim Tau. At the time, we were in Copacabana and Si Sok Felipe told us would make a workshop in the Freguesia, he then said that if we wanted to go we would be welcome, but to stay smart in order to help and adds 'I know it's far ...' I thought to myself it is far for me as much as it was away for you to be here ... Today I am very grateful for not knowing how to say 'no' to any request by the Si Sok Felipe, even if it is not directed at me, I want to put myself available.

Falei então do Sing Sang Ricardo Lopes, Co-Lider da Família Moy Lin Mah, marido de minha Si Fu. Honestamente nunca imaginei que iria admirar uma pessoa da forma como o admiro. Sing Sang nem
sempre está presente nos eventos, ou até mesmo no Mo Gun. Mas quando está o sorriso é uma marca
registrada, extremamente divertido e faz com que você se sinta em casa em qualquer ambiente que ele esteja.
Isto por si só já é algo admirável, mas falo de algo maior que isso. Fico feliz em dizer que sou próximo a minha Si Fu, e que cada vez mais ao invés de só falar sobre mim, sou capaz de ouvir sobre ela, a vida dela, conhecê-la e re-conhecê-la, olhar para a pessoa que apesar de ter diversos To Dai, a
Rebekinha (sua filha), consegue te dar atenção como se só você convivesse com ela. Isto só é possível porque Sing Sang está lá. Todas as vezes que a Si Fu está comigo, quer dizer que ela não está com Sing Sang e sua filha.
Não sei se há palavra adequada para isto que vejo nas atitudes de Sing Sang mas 'amor' me parece a
que mais se aproxima.

Then I told the Sing Sang Ricardo Lopes, Co-Leader of Family Moy Lin Mah, the husband of my Si Fu. Honestly I never thought I would admire a person the way I admire him. Sing Sang is
always present in the events, or even in Mo Gun. But he smile is a brand
He is extremely fun and makes you feel at home in any environment he is.
This is something admirable about him, but talk about something bigger than that. I am happy to say that I am close to my Si Fu, and that more and more instead of just talking about me, I can hear about , her life, know her and know her again, look at the person that despite having many To Dai, the
little Rebeka (her daughter), can give attention as if only you coexisted with her. This is only possible because Sing Sang is there. Whenever the Si Fu is with me, that she's not Sing Sang and her daughter.
I do not know if there is proper word for it that I see in the attitudes of Sing Sang but 'love' seems to me to that comes closest.

Por fim, falei sobre minha Si Fu. Nenhuma dessas 'pontes' aconteceria se não fosse por ela. Essas palavras nunca existiriam, essas vidas que tocaram a minha, e nunca poderia carregar um pedacinho de cada um em cada decisão minha se não fosse por ela.

Finally, I spoke about my Si Fu. None of these 'bridges' happen if was not for her. Those words never exist, those lives that have touched mine, and could never carry a little piece of each one in my decision if it were not for her.

A XI Cerimônia Da Família Moy Lin Mah certamente teve diversos significados para cada um de
nós ali presente. Dentre eles um significado que destaco é o da conscientização, cito o título do livro de Thomas Merton, 'Homem Algum é uma Ilha'...e hoje penso que mesmo que fossemos, podemos sempre construir pontes para cada ilha.

The XI Ceremony of Moy Lin Mah Family certainly had different meanings for each of
We present there. Among them a meaning that is the highlight of awareness, I quote the title of the book by Thomas Merton, 'No man is an Island' ... and today I think even if we were, we can always build bridges to each island.
