MOY YAT VING TSUN DE VOLTA A JACAREPAGUÁ! (MYVT BACK IN JACAREPAGUA NEIGHBOURHOOD!)

Quando Si Fu começou seu trabalho no bairro de Jacarepaguá em 1995, tratava-se de um bairro bem diferente.
Com muitas casas com grandes terrenos cheios de arvores e muito verde, era possível sentir a temperatura mais baixa do que em outras regiões da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
Naquela época, faziam apenas dois anos que Royce Gracie havia vencido o primeiro UFC, e uma febre pelo Jiu-Jitsu instalou-se em nossa cidade. O Kung Fu estava ficando rebaixado ao segundo plano.

When Si Fu began his work in Jacarepaguá neighbourhood in 1995, that was a very different neighborhood. 
With many houses with large yards full of trees and greenery, you could feel the temperature lower than in other regions of Rio de Janeiro City. 
At that time,  was just two years that had Royce Gracie won the first UFC, and a fever for Jiu-Jitsu settled in our city. The Kung Fu was getting relegated to the background.

Em 1995, a internet dava seus primeiros passos, e uma linha telefônica no Brasil chegava a custar US$ 2.000,00 . Isso fazia também com que a comunicação há apenas 20 anos atrás fosse bem mais precária do que é hoje.
Mesmo com tantas intempéries, Si Fu abriu seu Mo Gun. Por confiar naquilo que SI Gung havia lhe transmitido, e com muito mais coração do que amadurecimento naquele primeiro momento,
Si Fu construiu dia após dia, ano após ano, uma história que tocaria e muito, uma grande quantidade de pessoas que viviam nas vizinhanças do extenso bairro de Jacarepaguá.
Acontece que Si Fu , apesar de ter começado a dar sessões no terraço da casa dos pais de Si Sok Ursula, assim que pôde, alugou uma sala, que se tornaria seu primeiro Mo Gun.
Isso fez com que ele passasse por maus bocados no inicio. Lembro dele me contar sobre sua sensação quando pegou as chaves do proprietário, e ficou ali, olhando a sala vazia, sabendo que no mês seguinte viria o primeiro aluguel.

In 1995, the internet was in its infancy, and a telephone line in Brazil cost about US$ 2,000.00. This also meant that communication just 20 years ago was much more precarious than it is today. 
Even with so many elements, Si Fu Mo opened his Mo Gun. Because he trusted in what Si Gung had passed him, and with a lot more heart than maturity in that first moment, 
Si Fu built day after day, year after year, a story that would touch and much, a lot of people who lived in the vicinity of the extensive district of Jacarepagua. 
It turns out that Si Fu, although he started to teach in the house of the parents of Si Sok Ursula on her rooftop . When he could, rented a room, who would become his first Mo Gun. 
This caused him to spend a hard time at first. I remember him telling me about his feeling when he took the keys from the owner, and stood there, looking at the empty room, knowing that the next month would come the first rent.

Finalmente em 2007, anos depois do início desse trabalho de Si fu, que já estava completamente alocado no bairro da Barra da Tijuca. Começamos um projeto de expansão que começou pela escola de dança e yoga chamada “Espaço Dharma” no bairro do Méier.
Lá, Si Sok Ursula começou a ministrar sessões em Abril daquele ano, e em Junho, eu comecei a coordenar as práticas coletivas a pedido dela. Consequentemente, comecei a acompanhá-la durante as sessões.
Esse processo possibilitava que tivéssemos uma “Unidade Avançada” na Zona Norte, mas que não nos trouxesse toda a carga que uma sala apenas nossa nos traria. Como estava dando certo, Si Sok Ursula se desdobrou e começou um trabalho na Zona Sul, no bairro do Leblon, também numa escola de Yoga.

Finally in 2007, years after the beginning of this work Si fu, which was fully allocated in the Barra da Tijuca district. We started an expansion project that began in the school of dance and yoga called "Dharma Space" in the neighborhood  of Meier. 
There, Si Sok Ursula began to teach in April of that year, and in June, I started to coordinate collective practices at her request. Consequently, I began to accompany her during the sessions. 
This process enabled us to have one "Advanced Studio" in the north zone of our city, but that did not bring in a whole load would bring us our room only. How was working, Si Sok  also started in the neighborhood of Leblon, also at a school of Yoga a Ving Tsun work.

Pela primeira vez, eu presenciava o Ving Tsun sendo transmitido num local que não o Mo Gun. Apesar da boa vontade dos donos desses locais. A limitação de tempo para usar o espaço, e a falta de ambiência apropriada, unido ao tempo que estávamos levando para nos adaptarmos aquele novo cenário. Talvez tenham favorecido a perda de alguns membros marcantes dessa época.
Porém, os anos foram passando, e eu acabei assumindo a chamada Unidade Méier, enquanto Si Sok fazia um excelente trabalho no Estudio Manas , onde ficava a Unidade Ipanema.

For the first time, I witnessed the Ving Tsun being transmitted elsewhere than the Mo Gun. Despite the willingness of the owners of those sites. The limitation of time to use the space, and the lack of proper ambience, attached to the time that we were taking to adapt to this new scenario. May have favored the loss of some members of that remarkable era. 
But the years passed, and I ended up being responsible for the former MYVT Meier Studio, while Si Sok did an excellent work at Estudio Manas, where was the MYVT Ipanema Studio.

Do Espaço Dharma, surgiu o Núcleo Méier em 2011, e do Estudio Manas surgiu o Núcleo Copacabana em 2012.
Com um grupo já formado, conseguimos de maneira mais madura começarmos um processo dentro de um Mo Gun.  Diferentemente do que tinha acontecido com Si Fu mais de uma década antes. Quando ele abriu diretamente um Mo Gun, devido as demandas da época, com muitas responsabilidades para alguém que estava apenas começando.

With a group already formed, we could more maturely start a process within a Mo Gun. Unlike what happened with Si Fu over a decade before. When he directly opened a Mo Gun, because the demands of the time, with a lot of responsibilities to someone who was just beginning.

Em 2012, um dos membros formados no Núcleo Jacarepaguá, discípulo de Mestre Leo Imamura, Felipe Soares, é Qualificado como Mestre e reconhecido pelo Grande Clã Moy Yat como tal.
Nos meses seguintes, Mestre Felipe continua como membro do Nucleo Barra, e inicia um trabalho com a ajuda de seu Mestre, que favoreceria o estudo e melhor entendimento do Instrumento “Ving Tsun Experience” para os membros dos até então 4 Núcleos Certificados da Moy Yat Ving Tsun no Rio.

In 2012, one of the members from the former MYVT Jacarepagua Branch, disciple of Master Leo Imamura, Felipe Soares, became Qualified as Master and recognized by the Great Clan Moy Yat as such. 
In the following months, Master Felipe continues as a member of MYVT Barra School, and starts a work with the help of his Master who favor the study and better understanding of the Instrument "Ving Tsun Experience" for members of the four Certificates Schools of Moy Yat Ving Tsun in Rio.

Esse processo inovador, juntamente com o constante contato com seu Mestre, permitiu que Mestre Felipe Soares tomasse a decisão de no ano de 2014, iniciar um trabalho com o Ving Tsun. E onde mais seria, se não no bairro que o viu nascer para a arte?
Sim! O Ving Tsun Kung Fu voltou para Jacarepaguá! E agora pelas mãos de um de seus filhos pródigos, Mestre Felipe Soares, que inaugurou esse processo através de um Workshop no local onde ele instalou a Unidade Jacarepaguá.
Desta forma, apoiando-se em experiências anteriores, Mestre Felipe muito mais maduro do que estávamos naquela época, e já com o Titulo de Mestre Qualificado, reapresenta ao grandioso bairro da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, a “arte marcial para a luta do dia-a-dia”, tal qual nosso slogan na época.

This innovative process, along with the constant contact with his Master, allowed Master Felipe Soares took the decision in 2014, starting a work with the Ving Tsun. And where else would it be, if not in the neighborhood where he was born for this art? 
Yup! The Ving Tsun Kung Fu returned to Jacarepagua neighbourhood! And now the hands of one of its prodigal sons Master Felipe Soares, who inaugurated this process through a workshop at the spot where he installed the Jacarepagua Studio. 
Thus, relying on past experience, Master Felipe much more mature than we were then, and now with the title of Qualified Master, restates the grand neighborhood of the city of Rio de Janeiro, the "martial art for the fight of the day -to-day ", like our slogan at the time.

Jacarepaguá agora, não tem tantas árvores quantos antes, talvez você sinta até mais calor, do que em outros pontos da cidade. Uma linha telefônica está ao alcance de qualquer um atualmente. O Kung Fu voltou a ter seu espaço, principalmente o Ving Tsun com os filmes do Patriarca Ip Man. A internet no bairro é de alta-velocidade , até mesmo em celulares.
Porém, mesmo com tantos avanços, caberá ao Mestre Felipe apoiar-se no que esta época lhe oferece, aprender com o passado, e preparar-se para os desafios do porvir.

Jacarepagua now has many many less trees than before, you may feel even more heat, than in other parts of the city. A telephone line is available to anyone today. The Kung Fu returned to have its own space on mainstream, especially with the Ip Man movies.The internet is high-speed, even on mobile phones. 
But even with so many advances, Master Felipe must take advantage on what this e offers, learn from the past and prepare for the challenges of the future.
