SI SOK ANDRÉ TALKING ABOUT "TIME"(Si Sok André fala sobre "Tempo") - New Legends of Kung Fu Masters

Those pictured here are me and my sister in 1991. It's the only picture I have here with a bicycle to illustrate this post. Actually I always enjoyed cto get around with bikes . I drive very badly, and I do not have much patience for traffic jams. So, I miss when I could do everything in my week, with only a bicycle. Also, go to the Ving Tsun ...

In the photo alongside, we see the entrance to the old MYVT  Jacarepaguá Branch. There is at the door Si Mo in late 1999  painting the it.  Was at this Mo Gun that I was admitted to the Family , and as it was relatively close to my house and I was just a teenager, I used to go on foot or by bike.

In the left corner of this entry, where was I used to holding my bike. Or climbed with her up to half of the stairs and left her there ..

(2004: Me and Si Sok Andre - No chance against this man!)

Francois Julien, wrote in one of his books about Chinese Way, that the wise man , he does not teach or require to be followed. In fact, the simple fact that he will "always be there," he always comply with his obligations, he always keeps what  that he is committed to, it begins to affect everything around him, including people, by the simple fact of not "miss" with them. And Si Sok Andre was so, maybe you practice Ving Tsun your whole life and not know a guy as amazing as him. Well, I had this luck ...

(in the photo above, Fernando Xavier(çeft) simulates a fatal hit on Gil Batista at the old MYVT Branch in Jacarepagua neighborhood)

In the photo above, we see two great friends of mine in the Family: Fernando Xavier, who started with me. And Gil Batista, who studied with me during high school and then joined the Family. Once We were rebuilding the Mo Gun, everything was upside down. I knew all help was needed, but still did not interest me, within my limited vision at the time,I would not participate in anything that was not the practice. However, one evening in 2003, I was riding with my bike in front of the  Mo Gun in Jacarepaguá and saw Si Sok Andre by the window and decided go upstairs. When I got there, were the three: Him, Xavier and Gil.

I started talking to Xavier and Gil for nearly 40 minutes about my "Last Adventures" and even several times by noticing that Gil stopped what he was doing so through uncomfortable to listen to me, and that Xavier did not stop, just made a funny comment sometimes, I kept talking.

And then, without helping them in nothing, and also have talked non-stop, I said, "Guys, I'm going !"
And that was when Si Sok Andre asked to talk to me ...

(Em 2004 : Si Sok Felipe, eu e Si Sok André - manhã de Domingo no antigo prédio do Si Fu.)
(At the old Si Fu building in 2004: Si Sok Felipe, me and Si Sok André)

Tudo bem?
-Tudo. - respondi, apertei a mão dele e desci as escadas.

Si Sok Andre took me to a corner near the locker room, leaned against the wall with one hand and said:

-You saw what happened Thiago?
-No. - I Said after a while thinking.
-You came here, saw that damn work to be done, and still did not help  Gil and Xavier who were working. - Si Sok said in a tone of concern.
-yeah ...
-Thiagão("Big thiago" my nickname at the time), our time is very short, we can not waste as you just did. How long you stayed here? one hour? - He asked interrupting his reflection.
- 40 minutes. - I said
-You see?you have lost those 40 minutes. Thiagão, you need to pay more attention to how you are using your time. It is Not the first time it happens. But if you still do not want to watch it, at least not steal other people's time, as you did with Gil now. Okay?
-Yeah. - I said, I shook his hand and went downstairs.

9 years have passed since that conversation. I'm sure if I had participated in the work, I would not have had this awareness as when I did this mess. At this point, I do not see any more Si Sok or Si Hing stopping to sayvsomething like that to me. Maybe now, its my duty to do that  with the young ones.

But it remains very difficult to not waste time. I wonder what you are doing with yours now?
