EDIÇÃO ESPECIAL DO "BONECO DE MADEIRA DO VING TSUN" (SPECIAL EDITION ABOUT VING TSUN´S WOODEN DUMMY)

The story I tell below, I hear from my Si fu in the middle of a workout long time ago, and may contain errors, but the essence of it maybe I can tell:

"The first Muk Yan Jong who arrived in Rio de Janeiro (referring to theMoy Yat Sang clan ) I'll never forget. We are so excited that we finished to mount that on Saturday night. I went out from Mo Gun running cause I had a date with Si Mo (still girlfriend). We sat down to see a movie in her room, I leaned my head on her shoulder and fell asleep. "

or Muk Yan Jong is the name of the legendary "wooden dummy" of Ving Tsun. What was world famous by Bruce Lee, and many other Chinese films.

Muk Yan Jong means "Pillar of the wooden man". However, this device appears with other names in Brazil like "Muk Jong" (also written as MudJong and derivatives).

"Muk Jong" - simply means "pillar of wood."

And today, in this particular post, the blog will try to unravel these and other mysteries and legends with a big surprise at the end!

Not always the "Jong" () was the way we know. This device at first had its base buried in the ground, and with that, you do not have much thinking to imagine that the interaction of the practitioner with the dummy was different.

However, in Hong Kong, the Patriarch Ip Man, realised that there would not be possible to have a Jong "buried" as the physical space in this city is almost nothing to do that, and in building woul also be impossible or just difficult to do.

In view of this, the smart Si Jo Ip Man, took 7 years to develop the Jong the way we know it today: attached to beams, which in turn are supported on a pedestal.

The Patriarch of Ving Tsun doing the Jong sequence.

p.s. - "Eu quero!"

(Bruce Lee did not reached the Mui Fa Jong level in the System, but is image is very strong linked to the wooden dummy. Even action figures like that above was made.)

p.s. - I want one!

And if you stop to think, the fact that Jong being stuck in two flexible beams changes everything, because now he has "swing", it "responds" to stimuli. Thus, the Patriarch Ip Man, not only developed the structure, as well as a new sequence, which supports the potential of this "swing" of the dummy.

At a time when the Internet was restricted to Ferris Bueller to reduce the number of missed classes by the half direct in the computer of the school principal, something unattainable for Brazil so far, the information arriving from the Jong here, was that it served to " callous "(make its stronger) arms with the name "Mudjong" (Muk Jong木).

And if you used or still use Jong simply as "punch-bag", you know, you have no problem calling him "Muk Jong (wooden pillar) because ultimately you are using it only as a" pillar of wood, "you're" beating "on it, not interacting.

But if you use the Jong just as a "wood pillar" is better do like Tong Po in the movie KICKBOXER of the patron of the Blog Van Damme...

rs

Use a cement pillar!
Its a lot more style and you spend no money!
In your school or job may have one for sure!
hehe

(Si Gung Leo Imamura fala sobre o Jong num seminário histórico do Clã Moy Yat Sang em São Paulo.)

(during a historical seminar about the Jong, Si Gung tell us some strategies to interact with the dummy)

O Muk Yan Jong , é um aparelho usado no Sistema Ving Tsun no domínio Mui Fa Jong (梅花樁).

The Muk Yan Jong is a device used in the Ving Tsun system in Mui Fa Jong (梅花) level.
In our clan, it is believed that this domain, the Mui Fa Jong (梅花), has the nature of refinement of the "Free Hands " movements because it comes after the Biu Ji.

It is like you already know how to write by hand, and used a typewriter to write a letter. That is, the machine is able to improve your letter, but to use it you have to know first how to write.

It is interesting to talk because there is a very large feitiche for the Jong. Many people want to have one, want to use it, without ever even knowing how.
And it's hard to believe for these people, which is a waste of time to do something like that.

"A briga é feia 10 a zero Jong!"

Gil passed trough some problems to fix the Jong on the wall.

Therefore, one interpretation for the presence of character "Yan" (人) which means "person" or "man" (forcing a bit inside certain context) is that you do not just hit a static object. You interact with it in order to generate responses from the dummy itself because of the encouragement you gave. Thus, it is no longer just a wooden pillar (Muk Jong), but a "person" (Yan) that responds to your commands, even being "stupids" or "smarts" movements.

Si Taai Gung Moy Yat é o autor do livro DUMMY- A tool for Kung Fu (Uma ferramenta para o Kung Fu).

Si Gung Taai Moy Yat is the author of the book DUMMY-A tool for Kung Fu .

The fact that he called a "tool" may say much about his own view of the ddummy shared by many of his descendants.

One of the jokes preferred Si Gung Taai Moy Yat was laughing saying that sometimes when he saw a student running the sequence on the dummy did not give to know who was actually the "dummy". The dummy or the student ..

In 2002, finally I reached the dummy level!
Poor dummy!
I used to hit it without mercy!
A real dummy hitting another dummy!

One day, still in the old Mo Gun, I was there almost breaking the dummy thinking that "was the man", and Si Fu off the reception area without even seeing what I was doing, said that it was not like that, I was crossing the center line, etc ...

Only at the end of the session, Si Fu said laughing that Si Taai Gung Moy Yat used to do the same thing and no one understood. And that actually, what I and those people did not know,is that only the noise, the Si Fu is able to know if it's good or not.

You know when you touch the arm of the dummy and it gives a shake noise? it is ...

(Da Hung Jong) "Lenda ou Realidade"?
(Da Hung Jong) "Real or Unreal"?*

*In Brazil some people do not believe that this kind of practice exists.

But, and when you dont have the dummy?
Is there a sequence of the Mui Fa Jong domain that you dont have to use a dummy?

Indeed, "Yes" and "no"...

What happens is that there is not a new sequence to be executed without the dummy, but the own dummy´s sequence without it.

What?

Is like this: You know when you listen that cool Rock music and without thinking you start to play guitar in the air? without a guitar?
This is called AIR GUITAR.
There is championships about that... all..right!
But the important is that you fake to play the guitar without a guitar!

Então, o Da Hung Jong é a mesma coisa!

Mais hein? [2]

Sim!
Pois:

Da(打) - Significa bater, golpear
Hung(

So, the Da Hung Jong is the same thing!

What? [2]

Yes, cause:

Da(打) - means "to hit", "to beat"
Hung(
空) - means "empitiness" , or even "air" [ but it is not the same Hung(红) of Hung Bao and Hung Ga style.
And Jong(
) is the pillar. So would be something like "Hit the air pillar"?
You could see as "Hit the empitness".
And if you hit the empitiness, there is no limits for you: Go foward, Go back, Go left, Go Right.. it does not matter! Cause the dummy is not there!

Here is Daai Si Hing of Si Fu Julio Camacho (my Si Fu) 's Family.
He is doing the Da Hung Jong in 2006.
But you may have see that it was recorded in 2006, and after 3 years, he certainly changed his own interpretation when do this sequence.

The diference between AIR GUITAR and Da Hung Jong, is that when you do Air Guitar, even without guitar you have to pretend that the instrument is in your hand, and in Da Hung Jong not..

GEUK JONG

"pilar pra perna"
"Leg Pillar"

Geuk significa "membro inferior", e Jong... sem comentários!

Geuk means "leg,foot,etc.." and Jong... man, go read above..

Si Sok Felipe Sebra(Moy Si Ba) utiliza o Geuk Jong ao lado de um neném chamado Jade Camacho.

Si Sok Felipe Seabra (Moy Si Ba 11G VT) uses a Geuk Jong. By his side is the baby at that time called Jade Camacho (Si Fu´s daughter)

The Geuk Jong consists in a post(Jong) held in the ground in groups of three. The idea is that when we see it from above, we would be able to see the perfect form of a plum blossom. When you have just a group (more commom) like in the photo below is like you have just one petal of the flower.

Geuk Jong has not a sequence to be teached by Si Fu for use. But there is just one logical way to do that.

E finalmente nossa supresa!

We finish this first Muk Yan Jong Special, hoping that you enjoy that!
Finally the surprise!

MO GUN ALL STARS: VLADIMIR ANCHIETA [12G VT]

Today, Vlad even learning just the second part of the Do sequence, is one of the most respected when hold the Do. He respects the knives. Si Fu always says that.

Dani, the youngest son of Vlad, is a great fan of Martial Arts...

So , I used to bring to Mo Gun when Daniel is there, episodes of Knights of the Zodiac (japanese cartoon) in my MP4 for him watch while his father is training.Other times, I give him some gifts like the movie "THE WAY OF THE DRAGON" (Bruce Lee). But the gift that he liked much, was the 70's japanese cult TV Series FUUN LION MAN ("Orange Lion Man", on the photo above). That I used to watch in the early 90's on TV.

Eu e Dani desenhando.

Vladimir: É a melhor possível.

Peartree´s Blog: Master Julio Camacho, your Sifu, jokes that at a time when his apartment was in the works, you had the keys, and when he forgot his keys, you went there and opened the door of his own house. This suggests a close relationship and trust. Tell us a little about your relationship with him.

Vladimir: It's the best. I have respect for him, and he with me. This is very important for a good relationship. Moreover, Sifu always helped me when I needed, I hope one day I give to my Sifu good joys .

Me, Vlad and Si Fu.

Peartree´s Blog: Can you tell which was the toughest moment so far training Luk Din Bun Gwan?

Vladimir: It was the first workout, which was with Sihing Thiago Pereira [Moy Fat Lei,12G VT]. We trained very strong [ Jing Choi], and was almost no area of the legs. I almost could not go down the stairs and cross the street in time to go home. Glad I did.

Peartree´s Blog: Vlad, please, left us a message!

Vladimir: What I can tell everyone is that every human being has his goals, but also has its difficulties. And regardless of social position of each one, know to overcome the difficulties and achieve the goals.

MO GUN ALL STARS: COMMERCIAL OF THE NEXT INTERVIEW

Vladimir Anchieta(12G VT) is an example of what is being a disciple.
His posture and his attitude are an inspiration to the youngsters in Kung Fu.

This practitioner who nearly died when a hook tore his body when he was young, and that his favorite game also when was a kid was, throwing knives in the trunks of trees or playing in the folk game called "skyscraper floor" (a kind of struggle with large knives called "Peixeiras" where is brother lost 3 fingers trying to block a knive attacking him).

It is also one of the foremost disciples of Si fu Julio Camacho and Si Mo Daniela Camacho.

But also great friend of me!

VING TSUN NEW BOOK: On Board the Red Boat

LANÇAMENTO: 10/10/09

COMING SOON IN OCT, 10. 2009

1. Formato A4 na horizontal
2. Texto em duas colunas c/ fotos (pagina inteira)

E será lançado na data do aniversário do Patriarca Ip Man, dia: 10/10/2009

Hello everyone, As was written here in the last post, my Si Fu Master Julio Camacho will travel back to China to travel to historical sites of our art. However, this time not alone, but with a delegation that will include Si Gung Leo Imamura and other masters as well. This trip will become a mark in our clan, not only in the memories and images but also through a book called The Edge of the Red Boat. The work will be published with the following structure:

Left border with additional information (linked to the main text) And it will be released on the anniversary date of the Patriarch Ip Man, days: 10/10/2009 This post also shows the extent of this trip and the careful way that has been prepared.

You remember that every movie of the Indiana Jones appears a small map with a dotted line which will show you the place that Indy is going then? If you want to imagine it while reading the following sites and search on youtube the Indiana Jones theme for listening while reading the post will gain a new life! hehe
Si Fu no estilo Indiana Jones!

This would be a great Tv Series fo National Geographic or History Channel!
Si Fun in Indiana Jones Style:
"Jo Lei Ou Si Fu and the riders of the lost places"

Residências (Houses)

"The Prodigal Son" de 1982)

The value of the Patriarch Ip Man in Ving Tsun is undeniable, even though many people only remember him as Bruce Lee's Si Fu.
But the ancestor I like more is surely Leung Jaan!
(pictured above Yuen Biao as a young man, interprets the ancestor of the huge hit "The Prodigal Son" 1982)

Known as "FAT SAN KUEN" ( "The Fist of Fatsan" nickname given), Leung Tat Wing, was named "Leung Jaan" for reasons that we will know in a future special here in the Blog!
the two photos above, shows Yuen Biao younger and older, always playing this master of our lineage!
If the face of Wong Fei Hung is Jet Li, the face of Leung Jaan is Yuen Biao.

Im playing the game "CONAN,The Dark Axe", 'cause I love Conan and also cause a great friend called Marcelo has lent me a Playstation 2 and now I can Play! I have to say that "CHAN´S ANCESTRAL HALL" would be a good name for a stage in this game!
Vamos aguardar pelas fotos!

For me, if I enter in a place with such a name, I would believe that statues would come alive and attack me!
Please ! Dont touch the Jing Tong there!
