ENTREVISTA COM SI SOK URSULA[11G VT]
(PARTE FINAL)

SI SOK URSULA[11G VT]'S INTERVIEW
(THE FINAL PART]

Peartree´s Blog: Si Sok, could you describe how you see your relationship today with your Si Fu, Master Leo Imamura?

Si Sok Ursula: As a Re-start.
The relationship with my Sifu went through several stages. Today, with my life much more raised, with me as a wife and a mother, I see more clearly the opportunity to go more deep in this relationship, to understand and experience in full the teachings of my Sifu.

Peartree´s Blog: Can you say what was the most striking moment lived with him all these years?

Si Sok Ursula: Many, many indeed ..., mainly by distance, by my Sifu not have all the time on my side, all moments have always been very intense, but I would highlight my Baai Si and its entire process.

Si Fu Julio Camacho hold the board with the teas that Si Sok Ursula offers to Si Gung Leo Imamura and then to Si Taai Vanise Imamura for they drink.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): It was on July,04 1999. I was 20 years old and the ceremony was in Sao Paulo, in the old MYVT-South America´s Central Branch, performed the ceremony with the Sihing Ricardo Queiroz.
This time, Sifu mentioned the growth and maturity of the Family and how people feel, very sad, which were present during the difficult start, but have not had the opportunity to get a little more to enjoy this new good condition. Sifu and Simo were very touched at this moment as all who were at the ceremony.

The ceremony of Baai Si, represents the beginning of a lifelong bond between Si Fu and To
Dai. On occasion, the practitioner offers tea to Si fu and Si Mo, when they drink, the practitioner will be part of the kung Fu Family forever, because even if further away, his place will always be saved. The practitioner during this time remains on his knees, then touches the ground with the forehead and hands (and also the knees) 3 times, as a symbol of biggest reverence according to Chinese culture. The Baai Si Ceremony have different ways to happen: it can be opened doors, closed doors, only with the Si Fu, with Si Mo and Si Fu , etc. .. Everything depends on the choice of Si Fu.

Peartree´s Blog: All practitioners hear all the time about Grand Master Moy Yat, but you had the opportunity to meet him in person.Do you remember the first time you was in front of Grand Master Moy Yat? Can you tell us how was that experience?

Si Sok Ursula: Yes, unforgettable! The 1st time I saw the Sigung was in 1998 when he came to Brazil for the Commemoration of 10 years of Moy Yat Sang Family(Master Leo Imamura´s Family) and also made the inauguration of the new facilities of the old Jacarepaguá Branch (We had moved in to the room in front, which was slightly larger and prepare everything for the inauguration with Sigung Moy Yat). I was in Mo gun waiting the arrival of Sigung ,Si Taai, Sifu and Simo, down the stairs in front of the entrance to welcome them and when Sigung got off from the car, the feeling was like if a hero was coming out of Comics!.I really could not hold my big smile of one ear to another.

Si Taai Gung Moy Yat sit with his discipule Si Gung Leo Imamura by his side during the inauguration of the old Tindiba Road MYVT Branch in Jacarepagua.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): Sigung presented the mogun with a painting in time and that was about in my words : "about the importance of training when you is young, so that in future you can look back and not find your lives as a blank book ". That was an unforgettable night.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): After, I had the opportunity to be present in all of Sigung come to Brazil, received my BIU Ji Certification from the hands of the Sigung (in 1998) and also performed the Baai Si ceremony with my Sifu and Sigung ( 2000).

The BIU Ji Certification in Moy Yat Clan is an international certificate that you are able to get when you "complete" the BIU Ji.This certificate used to be signed by Si Taai Gung Moy Yat and the present Masters Seniors on ocasion. Today it is signed by his wife, Mrs. Helen Moy.
In the picture we cane see Si Sok Ursula accompanied by the Master Leandro Godoy
(the beard) (of Buenos Aires,ARG ] and Si Sok Marcelo Abreu (behind her).

When Si Taai Gung and Si Taai Po came again, Si Sok made the Baai Si Ceremony one more time.
A Si Fu who wants to make his pupil more closer to his own Master, can choose to make the Baai Si Ceremony of his pupil directly with his Master, or, with him and his Master in the same ocasion.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): But I would highlight two points that were very striking to me:
The first was from one of the Sigung, we were all dining and Sifu asked to do some demonstrations for Sigung and Si taai and I was designated to do "Chi Sao" with Monique "Moy Man Lek ," we were in the Mui Fa Jong and therefore the "Chi Sao" have much more freedom, as was a dinner the two were in dress and we do the demonstration was a very interesting experience and we did not disgrace hehehehe ... .. .

The other time, was also in a restaurant with the Kung Fu Family (remember the guidelines of my Sihing Julio on the culture of Chinese people, who quite different from ours, are not so common fondling, kissing and hugging ...), We were at Barra China restaurant , in Barra da Tijuca neirbohood.
We had lunch and that was the day of my birthday (Oct,11), which means in the event, or I remember it ... during lunch, Sifu Leo Imamura, came up to me and said: - "Ursa", Sigung sent you a gift on your birthday ...",
Wow!
was a Hung Bao and was signed by Sigung ... I did not know what to do if I would there to thank Sigung, or thank Sifu, If I would go shake the hand of Sigung ...., I almost get "frozen", but get up, and went slow to the head of the table where the Sigung was sitting ,and with almost no voice I said: "Thank Sigung" (in English) and did not know where "Hide my face" when he turned and made a sign with his hand to win a kiss .... hehehehe was sensational and fun ... and all the table were laughing in my face red with shame.

Peartree´s Blog: Something that always takes us by surprise, is the "going away" of a practitioner whom we are attached. You is so long in the Family, you can tell us a little about your feeling about it after you see so many dear people to get away from the Family?

Si Sok Ursula: That has always been very difficult for me, not understood, not accepted ..., thought we were totally responsible for that person go away, I would change everything, fights too ... (things we do when we are very young), then began to realize that when we change somethings , other people go. And that most of the times was an important process to the person go away.
I started to see things differently and rather than try to convince them to stay, understand their points and agree that until then the best was the removal.

Today, I see as part of each and that the removal of training does not mean the removal of the relationship, learning to respect the "time of the other" and perhaps the more mature of all the Kung Fu Family, today people are far away less.

Peartree´s Blog: In 2007 you started to give Ving Tsun sessions in a crazy pace in different places, both in the North Zone of Rio with the Studio Méier, as in Southern of the city and in the Mo Gun in Barra. And at the height of them, you became pregnant of your first daughter. Could share with us how that moment was for you?

Si Sok Ursula: Yes, it will be a pleasure sharing a bit of this history ...

It is not today that I wanted to guide my life to dedicate professionally to Ving Tsun System, but when you are young, it seems that the possibilities are many and the consequences do not influence directly on this that we have a false perception that we have much time to decide things and that I was "skating"* long(*brazilian word for taking a long time in something without purpose), I could not completely dedicated to Ving Tsun and also I could not devote my soul to any other thing.

Mo Gun em nosso segundo endereço ainda em Jacarepagua.

Si Sok Ursula receives from my Si Fu Julio Camacho a Coordinator Certificate of the administrative part of
Mo Gun in our second address still Jacarepagua.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): Once married, in 2005 the situation began to become much more apparent and responsibilities increase, age starts to make a difference, we have both time and opportunities are not so well and I have to see what was really important to me, the moment when I was and that the signs were encouraging me, conclusion, I decided after my heart.

Si Sok Ursula shows the old Mo Gun to her Si Fu Leo Imamura, as if he was arriving there looking for Ving Tsun iformations for the first time(that was a simulation).

Thiago says: All right! I know that SI Gung Leo was just paying a lot of attention on Si Sok´s speech, but.. look at his eyes!!
MENTAL ANNOTATION: " Next life dont do any job interview with Si Gung!"

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): For this, I had plenty of help Sihing Julio, always present and Juracildo Vidal, my Kung Fu brother, disciple of Moy Yat Sang Family, which allowed for that big step in my life could be possible.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): Then we started to spread the Ving Tsun in many places of Rio, with lectures, workshops, demonstrations and started two Studios, one in North (Méier) and another in the South Zone (Leblon) and the Barra da Tijuca Branch, in the West. The idea was that we could give access to the Ving Tsun system in all areas of Rio and these studios would become future MYVT branchs.

Si Sok Vidal, showing Si Sok Ursula and Paula Gama.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): The pace was really crazy, but the more I felt was lack of "environment", bringing kung fu to a place that had "nothing" of kung fu,there was not a Jing Tong, had no tables, no pictures, had not the Kung Fu Family , had nothing, just an empty room ...
That was very difficult, but over time learned that kung fu is in people, the environment helps a lot, but is not decisive. At that time, the kung fu was in me and what I was representing for those who started in the Studios. It was a very
learning step .

In the picture we can see Si Sok Ursula with Felipe Mury by her side, followed by Priscila Borges and Guilherme Farias.
Every one of them plus Gustavo Santos, Erika and Luiz Evaristo, had marked the beggining of Studio Meier in 2007.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): When was the confirmation of pregnancy, was a great surprise, It was not programmed for that moment, I remember that I had the result of the test in hand, ran to the house of Sihing Julio and said: -- "And now? What we will do with the Studios? "
It was a moment of great emotional confusion, but the Sihing Julio knew how to calm me down and showed me that this was a predictable path, the plan does not change and we need to adjust as the need demanded. I felt a great relief and I really enjoy my pregnancy, all Studios and Mogun in active, I remember that I was 8 months pregnant when I gave a session on Studio Leblon about kicks , for Aline and Bruna Lisboa, two sisters.

One more picture taken by Inês Lampreia, at the old residence of Si Sok Ines Braconnot.
That is Si Sok Ursula just one month after that kick sessions.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): I had much help from the Kung Fu Family and foremost you Thiago Pereira "Moy Fat Lei", who I fully trusted the Studio Meier during the period that I had to be absent and other Kung Fu brothers took so surprising that my commitments to the Studios during the time it took me aside.

When Si Sok Ursula needed to depart for her pregnancy, I was responsible for Méier Studio, sometimes the will was to sit on a little stairs there on the side of the Helo´s canteen between a training and another and crying, but she had planted something so special that, thanks to this, the help of Si Fu and a number of special people who came to train at thst time as: Carla Bastos, Thiaguinho Thiers, Rapha Evaristo, Rodrigo Evaristo, Lucas Eustaquio, Mateus, Marcelo Moreira, Bruno Moreira, Felipe Teixeira, Lucas Carvalho and Asmi, among others already practicing there, my job was indeed, a little easy.

Meanwhile in Leblon Studio, the responsibility to "touch the ship*"(*a brazilian expression for "going on") was with her dear Si Dai, Felipe Soares, who could learn a lot as there was.
Beyond, Si Sok Diego cared for the Rio de Janeiro Branch at Barra da Tijuca.

Si Sok Ursula (continuation): My daughter Rebeka was born on Mar,18 2008, day of the birthday of my Sifu Leo Imamura, which during my pregnancy I could just go visit him once in Sao Paulo, by the conditions of travel, but always he accompanied by photos and emails.
In thanking all those people of Family Kung Fu who were very present during this personal process , today I am more whole and happy to move on.

On this photo, that´s me trying to explain the exercises for that morning´s workshop in Meier with the support of Guilherme Farias.

Peartree´s Blog: Si Sok, you have been in front of many processes: presentations, training, administrative issues, trips, and anything more than you can imagine within a Mo Gun . Thinking today after so many years as you think all this experience contributes to your life? Even as a mother and wife?

Si Sok Ursula : Well Thiago , the middle of "Kung Fu" is already part of myself, then the influence is direct, all proceedings to which you say that the emotional and learning Evolve have made me become a person that I am today, why is not separate and I do not know how would you say if I had not had those experiences.
What I can tell you is that among the thousands of things I learned and learn the kung fu, today I can be more responsive to the needs of my family, to know and see the respect that is important for my husband and I get be a good mother, I'm trying! hehehe

Peartree´s Blog: Si Sok, close to a sensitive question, but a question that every practitioner who steps into Rio de Janeiro Branch would do: We can expect in the future the Moy Lin Ma Family led by Si Fu Ursula Lima?

Si Sok Ursula: Yes, still do not know when, but I think this is a natural tendency for the way that track and I'm ready, I have talked extensively with my Sifu to ever deeper understanding my role in the transmission system Ving Tsun.

Si Sok have been in Buenos Aires Branch in Argentina once , and shared her Kung Fu a little.

In Traditional Ceremonies for admission in Kung Fu Family and go to the next level, the practitioner is guided by someone of their choice, an oldest in Kung Fu Family than they.
Si Sok Ursula has been leading almost of the practitioners all I remember now, at least once, as we see in this picture where she is the guiding of Si Sok Fernanda.

Not just Bruce Lee has a "Lost interview".
Before Peartree´s Blog, it seems that Si Sok was interviewed once.

In the photo is me during my Baai Si while I do the three reverences.
Standing of course is Si Sok Ursula.
I remeber that in the end of the Cerimony she hug me and said:
"Congratulations Pereira(Peartree), now is forever!"

Durante visita de Si Taai Gung Moy Yat ao Brasil com sua esposa, Si Taai po Helen Moy,
Si Sok Ursula esteve lá dando suporte como vemos nessa linda e marcante foto.

During the last Si Taai Gung Moy Yat´s visit to Brazil,
Si Sok was there giving some support
as we can see in this spetacular picture.

To lead a Family in the future, Si Sok knows that she has to be prepared not just in techiniques but also in administratives situations of the Mo Gun.

The Peartree´s Blog closed this historic interview, with historical photos on the person who made and still make a lot of history!
Thanks for the affection of Si Sok to answer all questions and
your affection, dear reader, to accompany the interview and always visit us here at the Blog!

I would like to close with something that Si Fu told me once, using all this wonderful interview that follow:

(A picture of when I was accepted in the Family with Si Fu in 1999)

During the ceremony Si Fu said:

"In fact, each Admission Ceremony is as important as any other for the KF Family . Each new member has the potential to change the history of Ving Tsun, the history of the Family ... We dont have how to know who will be this one.Because of that, all are important. "

I wrote this because I hope that all use such interviews to inspire the good times and bad.
Each practitioner will always have its value for the Family KF , whether beginners or old ones.
Si Sok to build a great story like that on her "past", have to living intense her "present."
"To live intense the present" was taught me by

Si Sok Andre' during a reform in Mo Gun , I never forgot, and I hope that you also always remember from now on!

Grande abraço
Great Hug!
